    Fits

Wow, this bra is neon. I decided to order the Freya Rapture padded half cup since it's supposed to be the same cut as 30G - Freya ยป Patsy Padded Half Cup Bra (1223). Thinking this would be an effortless fit, I was more worried about the color than any fit issues arising when I ordered it, knowing I wouldn't be able to return it. As it turns out, the color is pretty nice albeit bright. I like the pop of color. What I was not expecting were all the fit problems. I tried it a bunch of times over the first week that I had ... it and it fit differently every time. So much so that it has made me question the fit on my Patsys. Here are the main issues:

The material: The cup material is thinner than Patsy's padding and sheerer. The bra as a whole seems less well-made and the stitches less clean. I poke through it, though for some reason only on my larger side. My nipples fall in a weird spot between the two front seams, but unlike Patsy, the material is not substantial enough to hide this. The straps are thick and rough with lace sticking out on the sides so they are difficult to adjust.

There is also a stitching defect where there is less outer material than the inner padded material so there's a pinch on one cup. I have read that others had the same issue, so I put this down to shoddy manufacturing.

Once adjusted (straps and swoop & scoop) so it fits in my IMF, the right cup is a smidge too small. I think it's quite a lot shallower than Patsy, because instead of quadding, it sort of pushes the edge of the cup outwards. One week out of the month it hardly fits at all.

After wearing it for one full day, I experienced something I have never had, even when I used to wear a 38D which was only rectified last year: the straps left painful, red indentations on my shoulders and the underwire tip poked so hard into my undearm area on my smaller side that it left a painful mark that took 2 days to fade. The marks from the underwires all over were generally deeper than I've had before even though the band is comfortably snug.

After I took it off, I examined it and and the underwires on Patsy are much more padded on the ends (they go full up to the edge of the underwire channel, so they get the cup hem as padding, too). The Rapture underwires poke through the channel and this is particularly bothersome on the left side only. I've never had this or shoulder marks with any other bra. The skin was super sensitive the whole night and next morning.

With over 3 months of wear, the bra has only become marginally more comfortable. I still don't like wearing it for long. I get a lot of spill over the cup edge on my larger side and have to keep adjusting. Because my tissue is so soft, it's not cutting/quadding as much as muffin-topping over the edge.

The best thing about this bra in comparison to Patsy is the shape: it is much more rounded and uplifted. I wish the cups just had a bit more padding and depth and the wires were narrower.

Technically, this is too big for me. I think I'm halfway between a 28E and 30DD in this bra, but on bloaty days it fits perfectly. On non-bloaty days, the lace at the top of the cups gaps slightly, to the point that I would take in the top edge by 5/8" of an inch, but the cups fit the rest of my breasts well. The band fits on the middle and tightest hooks. The padding is minimal: enough to hide nipples, not enough to add a size at all. Good uplift. Plush straps. Comfortable all around. I wish the seams were less prominent under tight t-shirts. The color is not quite caution orange, but it's very bright. It would look amazing against darker skintones or on fair blondes who can wear orange. Not my best color at all, but it was a very good deal.

  3. I'm so excited, I don't think I've ever had a bra fit as well as this one. It's perfect for my semi-shallow shape. It's so soft and flexible in a way I haven't felt other Freya bras. There is a slight problem with there being more lining fabric than the outer one, but since I have to move the straps a bit further in on the cup, it's not too much of a problem fixing this at the same time. Also, despite the straps being too wide over my shoulders the cups still lie flat against my chest, no strange bulging of fabric.

Because of the lining problem, together with some lace, the edge of the bra shows quite prominently through clothing.

I knew this bra wouldn't fit when I bought it, but I did anyway, because I love the neon orange color and I love the type of cleavage these Freya half cups give, even though the wire are way too wide on me.

It got about two months of regular wear before I gained some weight and a full cup size and now it is obscene. The pictures are from after I gained weight and should be in a larger cup size.

Nice simple and comfortable bra. I usually feel more comfortable in a 30E, but this one in 28F is great. UB 27-29; OB 34.5

I really like this bra. Half cups seem to work great on me. It gives me a nice lifted look that I love. I think a 28F would fit me better, but this one is wearable. Very slight quadboobage.

*this is a bra i purchased in an order from Amazon that i intend to return, so i haven't worn it aside from trying it on for this review and measurements. i cant give an accurate idea of how it fares in real life.*

first off: though i bought this through amazon, I'm fairly certain it has been used. it arrived here with no hang tag, some small (cat maybe?) hairs in the mesh, and faint dark spots with piling on the gore and piling with white marks near the underarms. the tag also seems a bit faded. i didn't notice any of these things at first, but then ... i noticed the faded tag and investigated further. as such, im not entirely positive the band length hasn't been stretched out a little. fingers crossed amazon believes me and lets me return it!

Onto the bra: i like this cut, its all vertical seams so A+ for me. the design is pretty, its a neon melon-y sort of orange with a subtle check print mesh overlay on the cups and another different check print on the top edging. the straps are nice and thick, if a bit too wide set like most half cups, and fully adjustable. the gore juust slightly doesn't tack at the top edge, but if i shove the wires into the empty channel space near the underarms (which i prefer anyway) I'm fine. the gore doesn't seem to wide on this, though it measures as wide as bras that give me gore trouble. this partly might be because the wires are wider so my boobs are being pulled less to the center, and the gore also isn't laying flat. looking down, instead of a _ shape, its doing a \/ shape and bending with my boobs, so they dont fight and shove it around. honestly I'm confused about the wire width, as for a long while there it seemed anything over a 5.75 inch width had major space near the underarms. maybe this bra is shallower and I'm not getting empty space because my boobs are being shoved to the sides instead of in?

the band feels a little loose on the tightest hook, though measurements say that shouldn't be the case. for reference, i also ordered the 32G and liked the band on that much better. the cups feel pretty good, though I'm a little bulgy on the larger left side and a little gapey on the shallower right side. its not too severe or noticeable for either though, so i would consider it a good balance between the two. unfortunately the right cup edge curls out a fair bit, likely because of the previous wear, so for this reason i can see it under a shirt. all in all, i think the 32G could work out for me! fingers crossed https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />

I so wanted this to work. Comfortable, firmer band than the patsy and daydreamer Freya half cups and it looked great. Gore didn't tack, but that's common from what I've read about Freya wires in this size range. I would've kept it. except for the fact that the wires kept slipping down. And then my boobs would try and escape out the top and it just looked terrible on me after a few hours of wear. I loved the fact that the side of the cup wasn't into my armpit and the cleavage I got.

Bra itself is more projected than the Patsy, very comfortable and it's a good bra if you have less firm breasts than I do. Not the best for close set breasts as the gore will have issues tacking and will float.

This bra is awesome! I'm guessing it fits similarly to the other Patsy clones, though the only other one I've tried is the Patsy longline. Pretty shallow, open on top, your average Freya half cup.

A note about the color: I got it in neon, and it's REALLY neon. The stock photos are completely inaccurate when showing the color of this bra. I'm glad I looked at a photo of it from Miss Underpinnings, because it was much closer to the actual color of this bra.
