    Didn't fit

I just got this off eBay along with the Carys balcony bra, both my first time for Freya. I love the quality and look of the bra but it doesnt seem to fit right. It seems tight enough, like it would fit,but the top of the cup is wrinkled, mostly on the right. I guess I'll try to stick with half cups. The sides of the bra also don't seem wide enough to fit all of me in there. I really hate it because I love so many of these patterns by Freya but with the empty-top problem I don't think any of them will fit right, even though its so close!

*also, its not a plunge,as far as I know. On eBay it's listed as "new - Freya Piper Balcony bra",but for some reason the model in 28D wasn't an option on here.

Try half padded cups in Freya. I think that's the only Freya bras that would fit right.

    Didn't fit

I only tried on this bra in a local shop, but I did not buy it as it did not fit me AT ALL.

    General comments:

I have only just hopped on the correct-size-bra-band-wagon and still very much in the process of figuring out what works for me. This is not made any easier by the fact that I am breastfeeding (10 months and counting) and still am not used to fact that I have BREASTS, as opposed to my pre-pregnancy 'breasts'. Also, because of breastfeeding, my size, shape and density isn't exactly constant. Anyway, I've so far found only two bra models in a size 60 band (both Freya) ... in local stores and this review is for one of them. I tried this bra on in 65E, 60F, and 60FF, none of which fit even close.

    Bra description:

A pretty bra made out of pale pink microfibre with multicolour floral print and black lace. Really, it's pretty. And cute. And although I'm normally not one for pink, pretty or cute, I wanted it. Badly.

    Fit:

The band felt very snug, but it was the first time ever I tried on a bra that didn't close completely at the tightest hook, a revelation! Also, the centre gore laid nice and flat, something I haven't seen too often before. I guess that after a lifetime of wearing over-large size 70 bands it just takes some getting used to wearing a band that is appropriately tight.

The cups were a decidedly less successful story, though. Honestly, I've never tried on a bra that was so incompatible with my shape as this Freya one. In this 60FF the underwires only JUST encircled my breasts. I would have preferred them wider, but the cups were already so baggy that I didn't bother trying yet a larger size. The strange thing was that despite the obvious excess space and the MASSIVE folds and puckers at the top of the cups, the front edge of the cups STILL cut into my breasts. Loosening the straps didn't remedy this and only resulted in an even sadder look.

    Conclusion:

This bra simply isn't meant for me. The wires are too narrow and the cups too deep. What's going on with the front edge of the cups I don't know, but it clearly doesn't work for my wide-set, wide-based, and relatively less voluminous breasts.

This bra looked as if it was going to fit when I got it out of the packaging, as the cups seemed about the right size, and the band didn't look too large. Unfortunately when I put it on it turned out I was wrong. The band was definitely too large for me, even on the tightest hook - a sign that I should have definitely listened to bratabase's recommendation of a 28 band in Freya bras! The overall cup sizes seemed about right on my breasts; however, they didn't work with my breast shape at all. I had two quad boobs where the top of the cup ... pressed into my breast tissue, something I haven't quite worked out the reasons for yet (something to do with the shape of my breasts, but I'm not sure whether that's due to full on topness or inner fullness or what. Trying on more bras might illuminate things further). There was also wrinkling in the top of the cups, which was only partially resolved by pulling the cup material up over my breasts ... before it resumed its wrinkling again.

Some positives though - the bra is a very pretty pattern and design, so if I did fill it correctly then I'd definitely be keeping it. Also the centre gore did press on my sternum, which is an issue I have with many bras, but this was resolved by having the spare space in the wire channels underneath the underarms into which I could push the wire that originally lay on the centre gore.

  4. This bra fits expectedly. I really appreciate Freya to be consistent with sizing and fit. Their signature 3piece cup style is designed for my shape: avg to narrow wires, deep cups - it does what it needs to do, lifts and supports, does not add volume and great for summer.

The trim along the side of the cups can be irritating against my arms, but other than that this bra is so soft and comfortable! The lace in particular is surprisingly soft. I adore this color and want more bras (and clothes!) in this shade of blue. Doesn't give the most rounded shape but still very wearable.

    A shape incompatibility for me.
The plunge style is disastrous. As far as I can tell, my upper fullness doesn't let the fabric sit right: it pushes the cup away from my body, making it wrinkle and gape where the lace meets the fabric. It makes it seem like the bra is too deep for me, although I am not that shallow.
I also experience a weird gapping on the side of the cup, right above where the band meets the wire.

I really don't like this bra. I think I need at least a small amount of padding to even out my shape. The area in the cups where the lace meets the fabric is a little too deep for me, causing wrinkling. While the top of the cups don't cut into my boobs, they feel oddly constricting compared to the looseness in the center of the cups.
