    Didn't fit

    VERY pleased with this bra.
I don't get slight quadding when I scoop like with my Hopscotch Longline.
That is still one of my top bras, but I think I need a 30F or 28FF in this style.
Speaking of 30vs28.. I think I chose the wrong day to try this.
I was on vacation over the weekend, which inevitably means little sleep and always hungry.
I gained 3lbs, and 1-3 inches almost everywhere. It'll go away in a few days, but right now my ribs are measuring about 30.5" or more as opposed to 29.
    Sad.
But otherwise I love this bra.
The cups are just the right depth and the material is nice.
The wires ... are, as usual for half cups, too wide. They do not however come up too far, so it doesn't bother me under my arms.

I do want to make a note for sellers and swappers, and I want to bring this up in an adventure later, but please PLEASE wash your items before sending them.
I never had a problem with this until recently, and I've recieved 4 unwashed bras- a combo from ebay, here, and reddit.
It's not a big deal, but just out of consideration for whoever is ending up with your personal items.
I'm sure the majority of us do, but I've gotten 4 in a row, and one a few months ago, so I wanted to bring it up.
I look at it similarly to giving someone unwashed used panties. It's not as gross, but it's still kind of gross, especially when it is visibly dirty and smelly.
I did not receive this from Bratabase, which is why I'm bringing it up in this review since I don't want to make anyone feel awkward or bad. It's ok, just stop for pleases.

Anyway- this bra seems good for shallow, wide rooted boobs. It can work with projected, narrow rooted ladies, but I'd suggest moving up in the cup if that describes you. The wires don't come up far, so it's possible to get away with them, and they're not extremely wide, so it's not a huge problem. This bra does extend 1.5-2" from my actual boob though. If that sort of thing doesn't bother you, go ahead and try this.
I do wish I had gotten a bigger band in any case. I don't normally have an issue with longline bands being too big at all, and find them very supportive.
I'll be giving this a wash and deciding whether or not I can handle the band or want to swap for 30F.

In any case, this is a very pretty, comfortable bra. I'm glad to know going up a cup works.

Making sure the bra is totally dry before sending it is also important or else it starts to smell moldy.

    • 1

uniteacher I did that once with a skirt. I try to ship things as soon as I can, but that time I was apparently in too much of a rush. It took a week to get there and she said it smelled like a dirty basement. I felt so bad! I refunded her and now I wait longer to pack up. I'd rather be a slow shipper than have that happen again.

    • 2

Queequeg0925 I love the just flew in, it's a pretty color and the birds are a nice pattern without being juvenile.

    • 1

If you decide to list it, I have a 30F that i would love to swap!

    • uniteacher jlcl119 Oh gosh, yes! I accidentally did that once also, but didn't receive any bad feedback.
At the time, I was more worried about shipping late, but I felt so bad after thinking about it
      :(

    • 1

      jlcl119 I feel the same :)
I was a little concerned that I'd dislike the print, but I find it so much prettier in person, and I totally agree about the birds!

    • immodestmouse Yay! That makes me super happy :D
I'll let you know for sure by Friday, if that's ok?

I'd like the smaller band, and I did temporarily go up an inch or two, but just having it on for 10 minutes to take pictures today reeeally hurt my back, so right now I'm leaning more towards swapping and 30F sounds perfect :)

    • Yeah that's fine! It only stretches to exactly 30", so it wouldn't be too big of a jump, but just a little bit more room than the 28 :)

    • immodestmouse that's great :) I will let you know for sure then ^_^

My goodness, this is a really pretty bra! I love the purple, it's my favorite color, howwww I don't have any purple bras yet is beyond me. Regardless, really stunning! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for a 28G lurking somewhere.

    • Queequeg0925

A small vacation!?!?! You are being kind to yourself!!! That makes ME super happy!!!! :D

Wanabee Yes!!! :D I finally got to the beach and Smithsonian, it was super fun! :)

    • lcl0706 I know! Purple is my favorite too, closely followed by cerulean and green, and I JUST got this and a purple Natori the day before. I'm so happy to finally have some! Now if I can snag a Cleo Lucy 30E in purple I'll be set :P

Good luck! I'll keep an eye out for you also :) I browse /r/ABTF and ebay just about every day haha

    30F

    Didn't fit

I like the 30 band so much more!

I do think I'm going to post a fit check here or on ABTF.
I feel very supported and lifted in this. The wires are a hare too wide, but the cup depth is great!

When scooping and swooping, I usually push my underarm fat into the cups. Is that ok to do?
I was wondering because with my 30E longline, 8.5" depth is fine but I don't get absolutely everything scooped.
I also scoop everything into my 8" depth Deco bras, and if I didn't they would be too large.
I was partly wondering about this because I ordered Comexims at or above 8.5". I'm ... guessing two are 9", but mildy shallow, and one I ordered at about 8.3",8.5 tops. I definitely like the appearance of the deeper ones because my underarm fat is concealed in the cups, but I don't know if that's what I'm supposed to be doing https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":p" />

Anyway, gorgeous design as I said with the 28FF. I think the band kept me scooped better, but this one is much more comfortable.

I feel like this bra is ideal for average to wider roots with maybe average projection.
The cups don't seem shallow to me, just semi wide. This IS a 30F, but my 30E Hopscotch has wider wires also, so I'm guessing it's just a thing with Freya longlines and possibly padded half cups(haven't tried them but they look similar aside from the band).

Cup separation is great-very close. Straps are closer together than the 28FF, by just a little bit, which works better for me.

Band is firm and seems sturdy to me. That's what I love most about longlines: I've never had one that didn't feel supportive, even my 32D's still feel amazing in the band.

The half cup is also a true half cup- it bothers me when brands release something called a half cup and it's clearly a full cup. I like unlined full cups, but it's still annoying.
Freya seems to not have a problem with that.

Material is nice and soft, very thin but still lined. Sort of similar to a lightly lined non winter jacket-without any heaviness.
I like Freya longline cups because they have a hard time standing up on their own when laid flat. They still give a great shape, but conform more to your shape rather than you having to conform to its shape- like the stiffer Decos.

Straps are fully adjustable, cups give a round, lifted shape. Seams do show just a tad under clothes but that doesn't bother me.
    And I think that's it! Overall, another great longline. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

Thank you immodestmouse for swapping with me! ^_^

    Edit:

    I'm so sad. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
I tried wearing this again (this is my 3rd time), and noticed there is empty space in the cups, mainly on the top sides, but a little bit in the top center of the cups also (not near the gore).

After trying my Comexims and Ewa, I'm realizing that 8.3-8.5" depth is best for me.
I'm beginning to recognize a pattern:
In bras with wider wires(such as this at around 5.5"),it seems to me that I need deeper cups.
Even in my Freya Hopscotch Longline in 30E, has 8.5" depth, but the wires are a tad wider than I need, and I occasionally notice a slight quad (especially after Scoop&Swoop).
In my Comexim Joy Longline, which measures very similarly to this, I have the same exact problem with upper side gap.
The cups are too wide and a smidge too tall. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
My narrow wired bras between 8 and 8.4" depth, fit perfectly. I think i may be able to go up to 8.6" in padded, but that's about it, at least with wires under 5.5".
With wider wires I appear to need more deptg, but it's really that the bra isn't working for me.

I really love this bra, and I looove the shape and silhouette it provides, but I don't know if I can deal with having to scoop and swoop all day. The gap is somewhat visible under even a looser t-shirt. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
I'm probably going to try it one more time, but I'm up to my biggest size of each month (yay shark week at 37"), and it's still gapping up top.
    Ah...if only I could find a 30E :, ( I'm so sad.
It seemed to fit fine before, but I wore it all day and each time I couldn't stay scooped.
    It was hopeless.
    I guess I'm just slightly too small. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

    Edit2:
    Found the likely issue:
Cups measure 8.5 in center, and a whopping 9.5 on top.
I'm shallow on top, functionally FoB.. I definitely need a cup down. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

    28F

    Didn't fit

This style is old and been reviewed a zillion times. It's not like anyone's gonna find a brand new one from any major retailer so I don't really feel the need to post a giant blog review about it. I am planning on a comparison review between the Comexim and Ewa 3HCs and the Freya 3HCs, because I think it would be interesting to the mass public to see the fit differences with them lined up side-by-side.

As adorable as JFI is, it's really not a shape match for me, and I knew that going in but was hoping I could overlook that. The problem with ... wearing fabulous bras that fit all day every day is it makes you unable to tolerate anything less than a fabulous fit. This bra is about a half-cup (haha, funny pun) too small on me, but it's obvious the wires are already much wider than I need. It gives cakes-on-a-plate cleavage because it's a bit small, but it also feels like I'm going to fall out of it (even if I really don't). I suppose I'm used to more coverage, even though this is the look some people go for. It's also lacking in depth at the underwire. Too wide, too shallow - story of my life. The band is also too big, and this is pre-owned but it likely would have been too big from the start. The longline aspect of it prevents it from riding up on the tightest hooks, but I wouldn't get much use out of it as is. Sizing up may offer more coverage, but would also result in much too wide wires. Given the fact the wires already bug me, and it's just too shallow, I'm not going to be re-trying Freya half cups again.

Interestingly - at the same time I got this I got a Daydreamer (Lauren based) half cup that had noticeably more projection at the underwire. It was also a 28E and I couldn't pray my way into it, so it went to the stepdaughter.

I will be listing this bra. Overall it's in really good condition for being secondhand.

I can believe the Just Flew In longline is too wide and shallow for you, but the profile shot makes you look quite projected! It's amazing. If I hadn't read your review, I might've believed you loved this bra.

"...28E and I couldn't pray my way into it, so it went to the stepdaughter..."

      lol

    • 1

Oh man. I tried with that daydreamer too. I've always loved that bra. I tried not scooping & swooping, & it was passable if I stood very still & never planned on moving that day. Sigh. At least it's still in my house ;-D

    • It looks amazing!! Sigh--regarding fit.

    • looks beautiful! I know what you mean about fit though--now that I have some bras that fit great, I've gotten a lot pickier about what I'll accept fit-wise.

    • 1

I look forward to your comparison. E.M. CH fits me significantly better than the others and it will be interesting to see the measurement differences :-) :-)

    • 1

I love birds so I've been trying to get ahold of one of these (or the balcony) for years with no luck :(

    • I have a 36D with alteted band so that is a 30F now. The just flew in is perfect for a swallow shape. The wires are wonderful and the bra is soooo comfy. Just love it.

    • I would very much appreciate a comparison between Polish half-cups and Freya half-cups. The latter fit me pretty well, although the cups are a little wide, so I would be very interested to see what are the similarities and differences with Ewa and Comexim.

    • 1

Love4Pollinators I've already done a direct measurement & fit comparison between Comexim 3HC and Ewa CHP. It's here: http://dreamsandunderthings.com/2016/01/28/bra-science-a-direct-comparison-between-ewa-michalak-chp-comexim-3-part-half-cups/

I think doing one with all 3 will be helpful, if only to show that not all 3-part half cups are the same, i.e. it is somehow possible to make a wide and shallow 3HC thanksfornothing Freya.

  4. This is just soooo pretty, I'm in bra love. When I first saw the pictures of this bra, I knew I had to have the set. Didn't matter that it was full price and I didn't know if I'll experience any tissue migration. It's every bit as pretty as the pictures, the ivory lace trim, the oriental-inspired bird print, the gorgeous lilac colour. This is easily the most beautiful bra I own! The longline also looks much more elegant than the balconette version. I can't stop gushing about this bra!

The cups on these are quite low-cut and maybe runs just a bit smaller. They run smaller than the ... Freya Deco Honey (1254) for sure. The fabric is smooth and luxurious, and the fully-adjustable straps are comfortable, even when shortened considerably. Everything fits, and nothing digs, scratches or pokes.

The band runs a tad big, though not as big as the Deco Honey. Only having 2 rows of hooks is very annoying though. I wonder why Freya did that. I'm already on the innermost hooks after a few wears as the loosest hooks didn't provide enough support and there was just too much jiggling.

    28G

    Didn't fit

I adore the longline look, so I figured it was finally time to get one of my own. I usually wear a 28FF, but I decided to take a chance on the 28G since it was available. The band is pretty tight on the loosest row (there are only two), but it very stretchy, and I think it will get more comfortable with more wear. Straps are fully adjustable, and sit comfortably on my shoulders.

I honestly did not think it was possible for a cup width to be too wide for me, but Just Flew In definitely walks the line. I would probably like for ... it to be a little more narrow, but there is breast tissue all the way to the end, so it's not that big of a deal. Once the bra is pulled right up into my inframammary fold (And stays there! That never happens!), my breasts fill the cups very nicely and I have very little empty space on my higher breast.

A small bit of gaping at the top, but I do feel like that's from going to a "G" cup, and it's really not noticeable enough for me to worry about it. The gore is probably the biggest complaint I have. It comes up quite high and leaves very angry red marks when I remove the bra. I wish there was a way to bend it out *ever so slightly*, just to take a smidgen of pressure off, but it does not hurt so far.

Overall I feel the fit is pretty nice, but would have been perfect had I gotten my proper size. I will keep it and wear it, because *damn* is it beautiful, and it creates a really nice smooth, rounded shape that looks great under anything that I own.

This is a very pretty bra. The straps are nice and thick. The longline doesn't roll up on me, but it does scrunch up. The straps are a bit wide and I wish the longline was a bit tapered since the bottom is loose. It would also be nice if there was another column or two of hooks.

  7. This bra is gorgeous, comfortable and gives me a great shape. I love it!

To be honest it's probably a tiny bit small in the cups but I am in between 28F and 28FF in Freya and I tried on the 30F in a store and it was a bit big in the cups, so I think the 28FF would have been too big. As long as the gore tacks and the underwires aren't digging in, I would personally prefer to have a bra that is a little on the small side than too big, as I hate the look of gaping cups under clothes. That issue aside, ... this bra is very comfortable and the back band doesn't seem to ride up even on my 26 inch ribcage. The straps are fully adjustable too, not that that is a problem for me. The only issue I have with the bra itself is that there are only 2 columns of hooks rather than the standard 3, which means it won't last as long.

I highly recommend this bra! I'm so happy that Freya is making it in a 28. For size reference: My ribcage is 26 inches, my bust is 34 inches, and I'm full on bottom. I usually wear a 28F in Freya bras though I'm definitely at the upper end of that size.

EDIT: I have just gone back onto the pill and my breasts have grown again, making this bra now too small for me. I've added pictures of how it is now. Shame as it's such a lovely bra! I'll still keep it for if my breasts shrink again.

I am quite pleased with this bra, it is utterly gorgeous, and it looks not too bad on me.
First, the band. It is loose for a 28, but you will not lose support as it is 6 hooks. I am getting lifted quite well as a 24, but will alter down just in preference.

Secondly the cups are moderately wide. The vertical seams give great lift, but on me it feels like the seams are lifting incredibly, whilst the rest of the cup isn't doing as much work. I have a strange wrinkle on the outside of the outer seam, but I am ... hoping it will go away with wear and wash. The cups are placed too far apart for me but it feels easy to sew. Usually Freya gores tend to be too painful for me to handle, but the wires on this bra is a lot more flexible, I can bend them outwards easily. The pain is subtle before bending, gone after.

The fabric is soft, and the quality is good, and the fancy straps are lovely!
While I'm pretty sure I want to keep this bra, I don't think I will be purchasing more longlines from Freya.

The bra fits great in the cups while standing, although puckers around the straps when I sit down/slouch. The size down 30F, quad boobs for me standing so I went with this. Because there's no boning in the band, it rolls up sometimes which is super frustrating. Not the most comfortable bra, but really effing cute.

    • I just tried on one of these today brand new. 30FF and the whole upper part of the cup was too big. I was shocked. I think that the cups in Freya run big. Am I right? Such a cute bra I'm kind of sad it didn't fit me. I am going to try and return it.
