    XS

    Didn't fit

I had been interested in the Fancies Bralette but had read reviews with mixed comments on the fit, so I hadn't felt confident enough to try it until Breakout Bras had this in their final sale section. Normally I hate pullover styles as I find them so uncomfortable to put on, but I decided this would work for a sleep bralette. I had no idea Freya had a size chart with recommendations on sizing, so I just went ahead and ordered my normal bralette/top size of XS and hoped it would fit.

However, I think I ended up with an odd one. My bralette measures almost ... 2" bigger in the band than other XS on this site, and is almost the same band measurement as the size S. The cup measurements on mine do match the other XS, so I don't think this was mislabeled. The band on this style is really quite loose, so it is not really supportive. I have no idea why Freya, a full figure brand, would design a bralette like this. The only functional portion of the band is the narrow elastic seamed in between the cups and the lace band trim. Note that the lace trim at the bottom of the band is just that, a trim. It is very soft and provides no support.

The cups are also designed strangely, as they don't have enough depth for this size, nor do they have enough shaping as there is only a small amount of gathering at the bottom of the cup and no seams. Therefore, the cups smash my breast tissue down into pancakes. In order to alleviate this, I had to loosen the straps almost to their fullest, which is odd for me since I usually have to tighten straps completely given my petite height. This gives the bust area a little extra room vertically since the horizontal give is limited.

The main issue for this bralette for me in terms of comfort is the thick elastic binding that goes around the armhole and directly connects to the strap in the front. This elastic is just too thick, and any tension from the front strap causes this elastic to dig into the the underarm area. This is the #1 reason I don't like wearing this bralette, because otherwise, despite its fit issues, it is quite comfortable.

The unsupportive cups and band wouldn't be an issue if you just wanted to use this bra for sleeping, which was my original intention. However, the main problem is the aforementioned armhole elastic that I simply cannot tolerate. Given that the band is too large for me in XS, I'm really not sure if I would try a size S (as the Freya size chart recommends for 28E) again in this bra. I've also read that the different colors fit a little differently.

It is indeed a super soft and comfortable bralette if you can find your size, perfect for sleep or lounging around at home. The double layer mesh cups and lace are totally different from the stiff lace used in the Fancies Plunge Bra and are silky and soft.

FYI because of the use of lace on this bra, my measurements are as follows:
    - Lace at the band is considered decorative as it does not provide support
    - Lace at the upper cup is considered part of the cup as it provides coverage

Cup height: includes lace, as upper lace is part of the cup and not a ruffle
Gore height: does not include lace, as the gore should be counted from the band up
Wing height: does not include lace, as the band support comes from the mesh portion

My first Freya Fancies Bralette in XS was a disappointment. The band was massive, the cups were too small, and the elastic that runs under the armhole was tight and pulled uncomfortably. However, for various reasons, I tried it again in a different color. This one is slightly better, in that the band is a bit smaller than the original, but still measures pretty close in all other aspects.

Meh. I'm roughly a 30e/f, wide rooted and somewhat shallow. I previously bought the xs and it was just way too tight across the boob. The small is a better fit, but the elastic band is a little too loose. Maybe best for a 32D/DD.
Speaking of the band, it's just one very narrow elastic holding everything up. The lace band is just for show and provides no support.

I ordered this in XS because I love a snug band. The band is snug enough for my comfort, but unfortunately the sizing made for a bad fit on my breasts. Incredibly minimizing and squishes them, and I’m not very big to begin with. I should’ve ordered a small at the minimum. The “cups” don’t have much stretch at all.

Aside from that, the bralette is super pretty, but very simple. I like the mesh like material.

I was surprised to discover that this bralette was far too loose on me (both the back and the cups) in size S which is the size recommended on their chart for the 28F/30E that I wear. Usually I wear a size M in bralettes in order to get enough room in the cup. The sizing is definitely strange.

    L

    Fits

Since this is a just a simple bralette, I'll keep it shorter than usual-

MY SHAPE: Narrow, projected, short roots, close set, center full, even fullness (technically FOT but my short roots make me appear even most of the time). I'm normally a 34G or 34GG.

FIT: Since this only comes in S/M/L/XL sizes instead of bra sizes, I knew it wouldn't be perfect, but it's good enough for my purposes (lounging, sleeping, breastfeeding). The band is definitely too loose and rides up. Boobs try to escape under the front every once in a while. The lace doesn't roll up as much as I expected, but it does roll up, ... especially when I sit. I get the slightest hint of in-cup quad, but it's not super visible in photos. The one thing I'm not pleased with is the skinny straps - I have a large protruding mole on one shoulder and the straps have a sharp edge. After sleeping in this thing a couple of nights in a row I discovered it has tried to slice my mole off, and now I have to wear a bandaid there for a few days. Ouch.

APPEARANCE/QUALITY: The color is actually a true navy, my pictures look too dark. Quality is fine. The bow at the front has little polka dots. The lace is a tiny bit itchy, even after several washes, but it doesn't actually bother me that much. It mostly just itches when it rolls up and bunches under my boobs.

OVERALL: I think it was the review at A Sophisticated Pair that said this bra would be GREAT if it just came in a few more size options, such as Small D-FF and Small G-HH or something similar. I really feel like I need a medium band but then I'd be too squashed.

This bra had a minimizing effect on me. My usually perky breasts were held close to my chest and pressed downward. The shape was unflattering and much like a basic sports bra. The band was larger than I expected and the cups too small. Although the shape was similar to a sports bra, the support was significantly less. This band may be more supportive on a 30"+ underbust.

Finally, the mesh created highly visible swirls throughout the fabric. I was not bothered by this effect, but it was repulsive to my sister.

I don't recommend size small for breasts larger than 30F UK....

    Didn't fit

I picked up this bralette in size M based on the size chart from Freya (my regular size is a 32FF/30G).

Fit - Not bad. The band was comfortable and the straps adjusted well. The only thing I noticed is the top edge of the 'cup', before the lace, cut into my tissue just a little bit causing just a little bit of quadding. I believe this is due to the fact that I have reconstructed breasts which tend to be firmer than real breast tissue. Natural women will probably have no issues. Since I purchased this as a lounge bra (in house only), the slight quad is a non-issue; I will wear and enjoy this bralette.

Comfort - Very lightweight and comfortable! I forgot I was wearing anything!

Overall impression - Very comfortable garment for this days when you just can't face a real bra, LOL! I do plan on picking up that bright green color way (in a large)!

Unfortunately, I sent it back before taking measurements, as I thought it's not really, well, a bra https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
The size L, even though according to the size chart, should fit a 36G/ 36GG (my size in Freya), is actually very small. The fabric is not very stretchy, so it's not easy to put it on. However, I think the fabric will give quite a bit of support. Once on, it gives significant quadboob and feels uncomfortably tight. They didn't have the XL in stock, I would have tried an exchange.

So I can't say much about it beside that it is in beautiful vivid pink and made of soft fabrics plus in bigger size actually it gives me a little of support. But the XS I can't even put it on as in afraid that it will break due to the fact that the band is not really stretchy.
