I so wanted this bra to fit because the print is lovely. It's got a lot of fit issues, I'll list them out: The cups: too small! I would say this bra runs small in the cups. Either that or it's too shallow for my average/slightly above average projection. I'm quading on both sides.
The wires: Very narrow. I think I can size up in the cup and get a fit because these wires are so narrow. A larger cup might be projected enough and the wires shouldn't be wrapping around my back. If I can try this in larger cup I will. These are super firm, ...very stabby wires. They stab on the gore and sides. There is no cushioning at all, and with wires this firm, if you don't have much padding around your rib cage it might be too uncomfortable to wear.
The band: Why is it so lose?? I measure a 26 band, but even so I can tell this band runs loose. It lifts off my frame at the bottom. It also only has 2 hook columns. I take really good care of my bras and so I like my bras to have longevity, seeing only 2 is disappointing. .
The straps: Ouch, my armpits! These are thick, stiff straps. All straps are wide on me but because of the size and material they really dig in and hurt. It might soften up with washing. I've never had straps that weren't short enough before. They are very stretchy and I had to put them as short as they will go, it's OK, but I would prefer a more snug fit.
Overall this is a very strange bra, fit wise. Only 2 hook columns, stabby wires from hell, loose band and straps, wide and very hard straps. It doesn't feel supportive because everything is so lose and stretchy. And so the hunt for something that fits me continues... Read more 217 more words
Because my 32G - Freya » Flourish Padded Longline Bra (1543) is a bit small, I ordered Crush in a 34G, planning on taking in the band. Well, the 34G was too large overall. Re-ordered it in 32G and while this fits better, I'll still have to take in the band.
So yeah, the band runs really large. Even larger than your average Freya I would say, because normally in longlines I don't mind a 32 band. Also, for some inexplicable reason there's only 2 rows of hooks?? Lame, because this decreases the options of tightening (or loosening) the band and I'm pretty sure most customers ...won't like it. So Freya - móre rows of hooks please, not less!
Cups: For a Freya padded halfcup, these run a bit large as well. My 32G Flourish is noticeably smaller. Cup shape is still wide and shallow (too wide & shallow for me) as usual in this style. Maybe a bit more projection than previous Freya halfcups. Cups are somewhat tall as well - there is some minor gaping on my smaller breast, which doesn't happen to me often as I have tall roots.
Straps: are firm and I like how the print continues on them. Straps do require more shortening than I'm used to. For example in Panache Jasmine and Envy, I keep my straps at almost the longest setting. Maybe because of the loose band and large-ish cups, the straps need more adjustment.
Somehow despite not fitting 'properly', this bra still manages to be comfortable. And what originally attracted me - Crush's design - does NOT disappoint in real life! Vibrant print, bright colours, well made and the materials are soft.
Matching shorts are slightly big in size Large (43 inch hips). The border at the leg holes has the annoying tendency to flips outwards, showing the white lining. Think I would prefer the briefs over the short.
As all longline bra, this one is very comfy. The front side of band is firm, from cups to hooks it is elastic. It scratches a little on skin when your skin is dry. The cup seems to be little larger then F cup of Freya bras I own/owned. The straps are soft and wide. I find this bra to be (was when it was my size) favourite because of wide longline band and soft padding.
The worst offense is that the underwires hurt like the dickens. They poke really hard at the top of the gore as well as at the tops of the sides. I tried pulling the back of the bra alternately tighter on the bottom, then the top, and nothing seemed to help. The wires are also really thick and inflexible.
This bra is really large in the band. I haven't measured it yet, but the band is soooooo loose on me. Also, there are only two rows of hooks, so your options are "loose" or "looser." I hate to imagine how much the wires would hurt if the band was ...properly tight.
The cups don't fit me either. There is a ton of empty space in the tops. I wonder if the wires would hurt less if I filled the cups better and some outward pressure was applied to the bra from the top that way.
The bra is really pretty. I like that the patterned fabric is continuous over the whole band and even up the fronts of the straps. I also like the floral print and the Barbie-pinkness of the bra. The cups are soft and flexible, not thickly padded or with stiff foam.
The cups are narrow for this size which is fantastic and so rare to find in a half cup!
It's too bad this bra is such and epic failure on me. I would be willing to try a 28D if I didn't think the underwires would probably pierce holes in my flesh. Read more 144 more words
