    Hasn't set fit

This is my third Fantasie purchase in size 30G. I had to have this style because of the beautiful blue print (new version, not the first one). The fit of this is so much better for me than the Penelope or the Darcie (I can't find either of these on Bratabase). Very rounded and uplifted, almost as good as a Cleo Marcie, but not nearly as "front and center". My other Fantasie balconette bras give a much more pointy appearance. This bra runs a tad loose. I am on the second set of hooks to begin with, but I don't think Fantasie provides 28 bands.

The first time Mae and I met, it was a meeting full of sadness. Empty spaces broke my heart and my wallet. We had to part ways. But I always knew we would meet again......

This time around, I sized down. What a difference! The cups, who once laughed at my disappointed face, now hug my body as if we were made for each other. No gaps. No empty spaces. Nothing but love for each other.

Seriously though - Mae is one gorgeous bra. Everything about this bra screams 'pretty'. The lace trim around the cups that extend up the straps....the velvet accents on the cup....I love everything about this one. I am so glad I reordered Mae in a cup size down. I've only had this bra a day now and I am already planning to get the champagne color!

This bra is beautiful! I love the sheer mesh combined with the embroidery and silver color, it's striking in person.

The fit is very good, right in line with what I've come to expect from Fantasie. I did think this felt a bit looser than usual in the band, and sure enough it measures more like a 36 band (37.5 stretched, 29 resting). Not really a deal breaker for me, although I'll probably wear it on the middle or tightest hooks. The shape is good as well; I wasn't sure what to expect from a single vertical seam, but it gives pretty good immediate projection and a nice ... shape somewhere between "perfectly round" and "natural teardrop." My only complaint, and it is pretty minor, is that the texture of the lace detailing definitely shows under thin shirts. It creates a bit of a tension issue between the mesh and the embroidered sections, it gives my breasts almost a quilted appearance under thin shirts.

This bra has some really nice details. There is really nice embroidery up the front strap edge- it almost makes me want to show my bra straps on purpose! The gore overlaps. There is a side sling. The gore has a small silver bow with a little gemstone. This bra makes me feel like a fancy lady- a little classy, a little sexy. I'm already a bit sad that the matching underwear are ridiculously overpriced, because this is meant to be seen and I'd love to have the set!

This bra is two sister sizes up from my preferred size. The band is way too large, unwearable as is, so my judgement of the shape of the cups may be off since it'll be based on what I can see while clutching the band down to approximately wearable.

I found this at a Nordstrom Rack for quite cheap, and I couldn't pass it up, even though I'm going to have alter the band down by a lot.

The band runs large, which isn't too surprising. It's not a firm band but quite stretchy. The wires are also quite soft and therefore very comfortable. The straps are mostly adjustable, maybe ... around 3/4. There's some decoration on the front of the strap that keeps it from being fully adjustable. The gore width is about standard for this size range, and it's not too high. There's a lot of space in the wire channel, so I shifted the wires out to leave a pretty floppy gore on my sternum.

The cup shape is where I'm at a bit of a loss. It fits better than its sister cut, the Fauve Chloe, but also fit rather differently across my two breasts. I don't have much asymmetry- just a slight difference in size and shape. It was a decent fit on my left breast (slightly larger, slightly less wide) and had some wrinkling on the top of the cup on my right (slightly wider and shallower). I don't know if unlined bras exaggerate differences or if there's some uneven manufacturing going on with this bra. I might sew a dart along the top of the cup to take care of the wrinkling.

It's almost shallow friendly, which is amazing. I think the cups want a tad bit more projection than I have, but the soft wires means that the cups end up just barely shallow enough for me. It's friendly towards tall roots, but it might cut in if you have a lot of upper fullness. I'd say even fullness would fit it best, with average to wide roots and average to shallow projection.

The mesh in the cups is not stretchy, but it feels like there's a bit more give than the Chloe. The entire bra feels softer than the Chloe. It's really nice.

My planned alterations will be to narrow the gore, fold the band over at the hooks, and sew some elastic onto the band. Normally, I can get away with either folding the band over or sewing elastic, but the band is large enough that I'm going to have to double up on my alterations. Also, depending on how the alterations affect fit, I may also alter the right cup so that it no longer wrinkles.

Update: I've narrowed the gore and folded and sewed the band over so that the straps start right at the hooks. To my pleasure, the band stretches to about 29 inches after these alterations, so I can get a couple of wears out of it on the second/third hook before having to sew elastic onto the band.

The cups are not as tall root friendly as I thought. It really fits even to FOB breasts better, but the fit, overall, is still decent. It just cuts into my tall, shallow roots a teeny bit. The wrinkles on the right are mostly gone, though I can still see a bit of empty space at the top of the cup. The cups are pretty true to size, which I'm thankful for.

So tl;dr cup shape: Average to shallow projection, even to FOB shape, not very open on top but not very closed either.

    • I have some asymmetry too (right breast smaller, narrower and shorter than the left) and I find that most unlined bras aren't especially friendly to differences in breast size or shape. However, I find my Fantasie Allegra to be no worse than any other. There's a bit of wrinkling on my smaller side, with a less rounded shape, but that's nothing unusual for me.

    • By the way, I'm guessing it might be more shallow in this sister size than in your true size (28DD?), as the cups will designed for the same volume of breast tissue, but spread over a wider ribcage.

    • You have a good point, alexad . 30D might have ended up giving me a lot of the same issues as my Chloe. I hope to find out one day, but for now, I'm pretty happy with my 32C.

I rarely try on unlined bras since so few are shallow, so that's good to know about unlined bras and asymmetry!

This bra looks comically huge on me, even though the cup depth is similar to what I have in other unlined bras.

I would recommend sizing down in this, or recommend it for people who get along with full cup shapes and have enough center and top fullness to fill out the very tall cups.

    Close to perfection!
This bra is my best fitting bra for now. The wires are wide enough for me, no quad-boob, slight wrinkling on my smallest boob. The band is a little big for a 32, I fasten it in the middle hood instead of the first. The design is a classic 4-part cup with side support similar to 30G - Panache » Andorra Full Cup Bra (5675)

    Pros:
-Amazing fabric, soft like silk but still firm and supportive. Not strech
    -Wires quite wide
-Straps are fully adjustable, they are soft and quite pretty
-The bra looks nice, classic. Its nice to have a bra that is not made of lace ... or «spacer» molded.
-The elastics (straps, band) do not cut into the skin (great for my sensitive skin!)
-Good projection, quite deep cups. I would say the projection is a little bit less than 32G - Panache » Jasmine Balconnet Bra (6951).
-Good side support, I feel like my brest stand in fron of my chest, not on the sides. this gives a slight minimizing effect.

    Cons
-Straps might be too wide for women with sloped shoulders. Even if they are wide, the fabric does not cut in my underarm
-Good coverage, not the best bra for showing cleavage
-The shape is a little bit pointy, but I've learnt to appreciate it
-The seams are thin, but will show under a tigh ou light coloured t-shirt.

Gorgeous bra, but the lace at the top is NOT stretch at all, and as such it has little flexibility for a little bit more fullness on top - it warped my breast tissue into weird shapes due to shallowness in weird places! Maybe a cup size up would help, but I can't find it anywhere.

This bra is gorgeous, it really looks stunning on me. Sadly the cup size is slightly too small. Not quite a full cup too small, so if I adjust it a bit it still works for me. I found it on clearance though, and it fit well enough that it was justifiable for the price (plus it is the prettiest bra for big busted girls that I have ever managed to fit into). The center gore sits closer to my body than most bras ever manage (the only one to almost fit along my sternum is 85H - Chantelle » Rive Gauche 3 Part Cup (3281). ... The underwire does not dig into my underarm, even after hours of wear. The straps do start to slip occasionally on me, and I have to adjust them sometimes. It is not from them being too loose, they just sit a bit farther apart on my shoulders than would be ideal. On the loosest setting the band isn't as tight as I would like, but is not overly loose, and only slips up slightly with long-term wear. It also only has 2 catches on the band, and I prefer having 3.

What a comfortable, minimalistically cute everyday bra. I'm pleasantly surprised this full-cup doesn't give me quad-boob (my FOT breasts have acted that way with a few full cups). I enjoy the nice detailing at the bottom. I don't have a problem with the wide profile although some people do. A pleasure to wear.

This @Fantasie Rebecca spacer bra is very basic looking; beige with a very thin line of white lace tracing the front half of the straps on the very tall, seamless full-coverage cup tops. The geometric lace also encircles the front of the band. It encourages a tear drop profile & wide, round shape. Because this is a spacer bra, the extremely thin foam cup isn't built for modesty. The underwires are hugely uncomfortable & quite painfully dig into my sternum. I have bent the wires away from my chest but its still far too painful to wear. Part of the problem is that I'm short AND short-waisted so any full-coverage cups will always look ... wonky, too large, or as if I'm playing dress up with my great grandmother's bra. I believe it would be great for tall, shallow, & wide boobs. I know that @Fantasie creates beautiful, quality lingerie; so I really wanted to love this bra but it just didn't work for my shape. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

I am a Fantasie fangirl, and this bra is a good example why. Everything is perfect about this unlined beauty otherwise! Sophisticated baroque red & white damask print, delicate high-quality lace trim, superior quality construction with softness everywhere it touches skin especially the straps, nice firm band with just enough give so you don't feel it all day, lovely firm wires that can adjust a little in their channels, uplift & centering with a great natural profile under clothes, nicely deep at the bottom of the cups for immediate projection. The straps are fully adjustable, the band has two hooks and three sets for when/if it ever stretches ... out (Fantasies really wear, so it could be a while). Its kind of a hybrid between a balcony and a plunge, I think, because it has a low gore and swoops down, yet still provides balcony coverage. The bra feels and looks very sophisticated and feminine. I wish it fit, but since it is a Fantasie it is true to size, and since it is a balcony I can't get away with a cup size too small!

This is one of my favorite bras. It is true to size compared with most other seamed Fantasie bras. The bra is comfortable, supportive and give a nice uplifted natural shape. It is not pointy, but neither is it the very rounded shape that some prefer. The center gore is narrow and low, so it doesn't dig into my very close together breasts. The sides come up high enough to help hold all of the breast tissue on my wide breasts and bring it forward, but not so high as to be uncomfortable on my small frame (5'2"). It also does a great ... job at controlling my jiggly breasts which can be a problem with balcony bras. While it is a plunge bra it does not create a lot of cleavage (life a Freya Deco for example), which is fine for me, but others might expect a plunge bra to create a lot of cleavage. The bra looks beautiful and is sexy in a sophisticated way.
Update: The band on this bra stretched very quickly (faster than most of my freya bras) and I was soon wearing it on the tightest hook. I wear my bras once or twice a week and wash them by hand, so it was not due to normal wear. Also, as the day goes on, my heavy breasts would push down on the bra and would make the bra sit lower than it should be while also making my breasts seem less supported. Since trying on Panache and Cleo bras, I have definitely noticed that Fantasie bands are much larger and stretchier.

This is an extremely pretty bra for being a seamless cup and solid color. It makes wearing a day bra feel a little more glamorous. But it's not my favorite (for the several reasons listed below) and I basically use this under my woot tshirts, since the flatter profile and full coverage work a little better for showing off artwork.

This bra cup has extremely soft moulding, which I personally don't like. It puts a lot more weight on my straps, and then I have to wear the back tight enough to get red marks by the end of the day. It gives me a wider profile when viewed from the front, and the side profile is less lifted than I like. I also extremely self conscious about my ridiculous little thermometer nipples showing at work; they show through in this bra unless I'm wearing a thick sweater.

This bra feels more supportive than most I currently own, but the fit is a little off. I'm not sure if that's because the tops of my breasts are still very full for their size, or because it's less than a cup size too small. Either way, it's very pretty and I feel like it helps me stand up a little straighter. The lace could also theoretically be itchy, but it doesn't bother me.

This is an extremely stretchy band, even for Fantasie. I would size down from whatever looks like it fits in the store. A 34 looked perfect on the loosest hook in Nordstrom, and I had it on the tightest hook after a single wash.

Love affair with Fantasie is now a marriage of convenience.

    Good quality bra.

Cons: No side support. Note to self: need side support. Seam across cup is super thick and shows under thin shirt. Shape is really bad: droopy, almost squarish. Gore is narrow and yet it seems wide, or the cups splay wider than I am used to/prefer. Straps are so wide-set I couldn't shorten them and have them fit. Oddly, I had wrinkling in the side (due to no side support panel?)

Need a good beige bra and this isn't it.

    Update: late July 2012

Fits better as my breast tissue migrates.

Original review: Same as the Lizbeth--I bought in haste, with a short time to shop before meeting family. Sin in haste, repent at leisure.

Good: straps don't slip! Very pretty. band fits OK for a few hours and then the wires dig in. Gives me a nice shape and really brings my breasts up.

Bad: Wires are far too wide and end behind my arm. Cup seemed perfect in the store but is just a little too big (wrinkles at the top). Cups come up too high under my arm. Same old story: I'm petite and need something that is lower cut.

    Sigghhh.

Update Sept 2013: Finally decided the seam is too bulky and shows through most of my shirts. Good for when I wear layered clothing.

It does fit better not that I know how to settle in to a bra better.

The Salsa is an unlined 3-part balconette bra. It's pretty, but too bad it doesn't fit!
The cup runs large in this size, at the top of the cups. After scooping and swooping, I was able to fill the bottom of the cups, but I had lots of wrinkles in the top half of the cup. I guess I just don't have enough fullness on top to fill it. Maybe this would be better for more even breast shapes.
One factor that probably contributes to the upper half wrinkles is that the height of the cup is really tall: the Salsa is about 17 cm from the strap straight down ... to the bottom of the band/cup, including the underwire when measured with the bra flat, compared to about 13.7 cm on a 30F Cleo Melissa. The cup depth of the Salsa is deeper than the 30F Melissa, so when filled, the Salsa definitely requires more volume.
The band is just a bit too large/stretchy, as I can fit four fingers between the band and my back.
The straps are half-adjustable, and the material seems sturdy. The flower design is a light peach/pink shade (and the design is really cute), and the bra's color is a dark, dark grey (charcoal). There are little bows where the strap meets the cup, and the center gore has a cute bow.
