Unfortunately the wires of this bra are extremely soft, thus they get bent out of shape under stress from a snug fitting band. The whole bra suffers from this. First the band stretches along with the wires, causing the band too be loose. Second the cup gets pulled flat and the upper rim of the cup has a tendency to cut into the breast and cause quadboob, despite the bra being the right size or even too big in the cup. (This effect is also known as the Curvy-Kate-phenomenon because Curvy Kate bras are prone to do this. Women often choose to go ...up in bandsize with CK bras to avoid this.) I was quite shocked to find that the wires of the Florence are even softer and more yielding to than the notoriously soft underwires from Curvy Kate. I'm very dissappointed in this bra, since it is the only bra by Fantasie that is available up to 40 K. Due to the soft underwires it does a poor job in the support area. I urge everybody who is considering this bra to exchange the underwires for something more stable. I think the wires of the Panache Ariza two cupsizes down might possibly work or maybe the wires of the Fantasie Mariette, the Fantasie Kara or another Freya bra or one from the "Just Gorgeous" by Debenhams range. It is also possible to buy underwires over the net relatively cheap from specialist online shops for people who sew their own bras, the challenge will be to find one that is stable and that fits especially for the larger band/larger cupsize combos. I think it will be worth the effort, because it is over all a very good bra. The material of the cups feels very soft to the touch and I am glad that my friend ordered this for me so that I could try it out. Sadly it doesn't work for me. The wires are too narrow for me even totally bent out of shape and I cannot quite fill out the upper part of the cup. But it would be great for somebody who needs narrow wires and deep cups and has breasts shaped like a torpedo.
This bra stretched out very quickly (to 36 inches after 4 wears) and the wires are not very supportive as well. Its very pretty and very comfortable, but should be bought a band size or two smaller, and would be better for women whose breasts don't need as much support due to the wires.
The Florence is cute and comfortable, but no longer big enough for me--quad boob city. The band has stretched out a lot, but I've had this bra for years so that's not surprising. I'm full on the bottom and this bra has good projection, especially compared to my other Fantasie bras. I'd probably buy this bra again if I found a larger one.
This one is a funny one. It sits on me perfectly when I first put it on but as it settles into place the wires poke right out from my ribcage. The sides of the wires are comfortable and nice and wide but the front! It digs into my chest when it has settled in underneath along the bottoms of the wires. Even considering all of that it still LOOKS good when it's feeling bad.
The first thing is, I have not had this bra as long as the website suggests, I bought it in the fall and rarely wear it, so it is still in pretty good shape. It was too tight in the band when I bought it, but I needed a bra right then and it was closest thing to fitting I had found in awhile. The wires are very wide, they wrap all the way around almost to my back, while leaving marks where they are on top of my breasts on the inside. In the side view, only about a half inch of the black and gold fabric ...is outside the wire, on the wing. They also distort with minimal tension on the band. The band itself is curved so that it sits higher on the back, even with the top of the cups rather than the bottom. The straps are very stretchy, as has been my experience with all Fantasie bras, resulting in a slightly droopier shape. This bra would be much better suited to someone with wider, shallower breasts that are a little further apart. The fabric is very pretty, black and gold lace in a floral pattern, very thin. It wears well and does not show through my thinner shirts. Read more 105 more words
I think the cup size for this one is just too small for me. I get obvious quadboob on my larger side. Also, the center gore doesn't even almost lay flat. Maybe the cups are too far apart? The wire size is pretty perfect for me, so I'm afraid of trying a cup size up and finding the wires too wide.
Ah, well. Not a bra for me. It would definitely make a comfortable everyday bra though! Also, if you have problems finding cups that have enough space and won't wrinkle at the bottom, try this bra! It actually fits me very well at the bottom of the cups!
I'm in between o band sizes 30 and 32. Fantasie bras have bigger bands so 32 was too loose for me. The 30 is a bit on the tight side, I fasten it on the first hook and it sits tight without any movement. Wire is a bit wide, it goes too far into the armpit, so part of the fabric sits flat on the side of my chest. I could have a smaller cup if the wire was narrower, but most of the big cups on small bands look like this and this one's comfortable to wear.
Edit after 2 months: the band stretched, now I can fasten it on middle hooks (or tightest hooks on better days)
