  1. I’ve been on a hunt for a replacement to my much loved Wróżka. I think I may have found it with Yennefer.

The bra cups consist of a single layer of non stretch black lace with a subtle flower shape in it. The upper triangle piece where the cup meets the strap has a fine open hole black mesh backed with a fine medium nude tone fabric. There is a small black bow where the cup meets the strap. The center gore has a nude portion with a v-shape if lace in the center. The lower part has the same black open hole mesh backed by the nude ... fabric. There is a black bow with a large faux diamond backed by silver metal hanging from the bow. I have to say in my size the center gore isn’t as high as larger cup sizes, so you don’t see as much center gore detail as you would in the upper cup sizes. The lower rocker is the black open hole mesh backed with the nude fabric that has black lace that runs along the lower part. These both end at the side seam where the black backband attaches. The backband is a single layer of mesh that is rather stretchy. If you are hard on your bras I can see this wearing out probably quickly, but I don’t feel it easily snags on nails or anything. Back closure is a 2x4 black clasp. All hardware is black. Straps are black elastic with open scalloped edging with a medium stretch to it. Very beautiful and sexy for sure.

    Didn't fit

SM Yennefer is an unlined black lace bra. The cup construction in this size (60L) has 3 lower sections with 2 vertical seams, an upper section above the horizontal seam, plus an outer wedge section that connects the strap to the cup. The band is a thin sheer tulle. As with all SM style bras, the lace has no stretch to it, and not a lot of give. This provides firm support but is not very forgiving to size or hormone fluctuations, nor is it flexible if you are between sizes or have asymmetry. If you need more flexibility with fit and sizing, you are better off going ... with Ewa’s BM or SF styles instead.

I ordered this one (and two others) from MagdaBras4you whose service is impeccable.

    For measurements:
All measurements are taken prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is obscured by the body. I also take all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.

The band measures 22.5” and stretches to a max of 28.5”. It has 3 hooks and 4 rows of eye loops.

    Cup Depth as measured by:
1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance.
    This measurement is: 12.75”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance.
    This measurement is: 14.5”

I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.

This bra, like the SF Gladzioch Mileczna Czekolada, has an odditiy of one wire being 6.25 and the other being 6.5”. While this does not affect fit on the SF, it may be a factor on this SM as there is no stretch lace to ease the difference.

Another thing with this order is that all the straps are thin. Not thin as in narrow, but thin as depth, flimsy, lacking plushness, biting instead of padded or plush backed for comfort. In one word-cheap. Not liking these cheap thin straps, but I did notice my last Comexim order has the same thing.

As for fit, this 60L SM style bra is not the same size as my other two 60L SMs. While the depth measures small, the construction is ridiculously open on top (again compared to my other 60L Ewa bras) so I can’t fill the top of the cup on one side. The gore is 1.5 fingers off my sternum, the band is comfy on the tightest hook set, but the cups…….are off. They are too small and too big all at the same time. The lace flattens on my right side yet gapes on my left. The bottom of both cups feel constricting & squished and over full, and no amount of Swoop and Scoop redistributes this tissue. The bottom of the cups are just not as spacious as my other two SMs in this size. Yet the top of the cup on this one is more open, at least on the left side, while it is flattening on my right side. While my breasts are not perfectly symmetrical they are close enough that I never experience such a different fit between the cups.

Like with Rubin, this one just feels “off” as if it was made incorrectly somehow. One of those bras that shouldn’t have passed quality control like the ones you find at the discount retailers as a “slight second” bra. This is so disappointing, as Ewa’s products are now far from reliable. Clearly Ewa has gone downhill. Unfortunately I have another order in transit (5 bras) which I am not optimistic about. From this point forward I will be sticking to Decent Exposures bras until I can find another option. Sure DE bras aren’t sexy but they are super comfortable and consistent.

huh, i thought you had had issues with decent exposures? Maybe that was someone else. I only have 1 now, a lined lycra racerback, but its gotten pretty stretched out. i only wear it at home, in general, but if i wear it too often i get rash between my boobs. keep wondering if i want to try a velour again but - not very forgiving. I find the lycra is ok through a few sizes

    • dbmamaz The only issue I had with DE was a mis-stitching on one bra but it doesn't effect fit or comfort and isn't noticeable unless you're looking at the inside sitching. Aside from that the straps felt too short on the lined lycra 26L at first but are fine now.
I do love them, they are so comfortable!
Do you get unlined or lined? The lined lycra is wonderful for support and is comfortable.

    • 2

That is absolutely ridiculous that wires are different width! What are they doing :/

    • Since two bras are like this I think the seamstress just accidentally switched one of the wires, or their wire bin has two sizes in it, like someone restocked the 6.25" bin with 6.5" wires in error.......o.O Human errors do occur, especially if the works are swamped with workload. :-/

    • 1

Mistake is understandable but it makes you wonder if there is any quality control at all :/

    • 1

MamaPagan , brasaremean , just a hypothesis, is the larger underwire on the left cup in both cases ?

There's a saying that floats round, the left one is the larger. In which case this could be a stealth attempt for better fit. Though it's rather an odd one.

All underwires I've seen during "maintenance works" are perfectly identical from left to right and can be swapped.

New replacement wires perfectly overlap one on another, guess there's no left/right for these parts.

    • 1

Ah, for right handed people left side would be bigger, for left handed right side, but it's not a rule and there are always outliers of course. My little sister is left handed and her left side is larger.

But it is not common practice to make different cups in any other brand and I really think this is just a case of negligence in EM. Of course as much as I dislike EM right now they do make the best bras, so I believe this is not the fault of the bra or a seamstress exactly, just a lack of quality control.

    • 1

Yep quality control seems to be the issue here. It is a shame because this is such a pretty bra (these are the patterns I tend to like). I'm sorry it didn't work MamaPagan

On a side note, I wonder if they would ever bring back the Koralik or maybe another bra in coral?

    • 2

femineaaeterna, asymmetry is no excuse for this. These wires are often too wide already, as depending on how they stretch in the band they end up past the middle of the armpit.

    • 1

femineaaeterna No, the larger wire isn't on the left on both. A wider wire without added depth functionally makes the cup smaller & shallower since it's pulling the depth to the armpit more.
I too have read that theory of the left breast being larger, but my right breast is slightly larger. My theory with this is, they base the left being larger since most people are right handed. By using your right hand (and inturn your right arm and chest muscles by default) you build more muscle and burn more fat in those areas, resulting in a slightly smaller but more dense right breast. Me being a left hander on the otherhand do the opposite. 😄

Since I have 77 Ewa bras I have tried so far and this is the only two l received like this from Ewa, I think it's human error more than anything.

    • 1

brasaremean haha, I guess I should have read all the comments before replying as I just repeated what you wrote. 😄😄

I can attempt to bend the wires and see if it helps. I did bra surgery on the yesterday to lower that dreaded armpit curve of chaffing hell and will try them today. With Yennefer I don't feel it will help much since the one side is small/closed in while the other larger/open on top and the base being too small but darned if I won't try anyway, haha.

And you are right, Ewa sucks at the moment but they used to make wonderful bras that were the best. Lately they are quite far from that mark and with the high price and poor quality without the availability of returns for my custom size, they are not worth it. There are better options out there for most size ranges though.

      @Frazzleberry
I do love the lace on Koralik, and anything is possible but I wouldn't hold my breath on it. Ewa seems to stick to her set basics-black beige red white with blue being more common of an addition followed by purple. Other colors are less likely to return frequently or soon. :-/

    • 1

      Valid point Sovavosi 💙
Small bands means smaller upper frame. When your frame is small, you don't want wires that wrap like that. If for no other reason, the fact that it means the straps are functionally in your armpits is reason enough. The wires should never take up more than half the band, as this shows you the wires will be wrapping more than half way around your back. How can Ewa expect your breasts to stay up front and centered when her wires are so wide in the upper cups on the 28 band?!? Larger breasts don't mean you have a magical frame that will allow for the wires to stay in front defying math and physics. If my frame is 10.5" from armpit to armpit, how can I keep the 12.5-13.5" bra frame from wrapping on 6.25 to 6.5" wires? Even at 6" wires the bra frame is 12.5" with the gore which means it wraps....... The wire width is far more important than Ewa realizes, at least it is in our range.

MamaPagan , bras are an often neglected yet very challenging engineering situation. Sometimes I get high thinking of awfully complex force sensors and 3D scanners to get a better picture.

And I know that no matter the method, it will fail.

How it hugs, feels makes happy or sad are perceptions beyond quantification.

Last but not least, systematic in-production quality control is an old topic. Often this set of actions costs more than the production of the "detail" itself.

One day I'll compile a major rant on how most "general public" bras are made and delivered at unity costs of 0.75 to 5 dollars by container quantities.

      *headache*

    • 2

The real issue here femineaaeterna is that this is a hand made upon order custom sized bra, not a factory line piece. There really should be more quality within it's making.

When you think about the generalized sizes that are supposed to cover a 1-2" range in cup and band and is expected to accommodate the millions of breast sizes, shapes, densities, heights, and widths it's no wonder we can't achieve perfection.

Then you factor in the hormone fluctuations and weight changes that effect our breast size, what fits today may not fit in two weeks, so the hefty price tag on a true quality custom made bra can end up being an investment that would have fit at time of measurements but does not by the end of creation.

I am in a constant flux that goes up and down each and every month, along with crazy swell times where they increase in size, sometimes lasting while othertimes just for a month or so. Overall I have gone up 6 cup sizes in the last few years, and just when I think I've stopped changing, they change again. Never ending cycle of confusion......talk about a headache! 😖😬😄😬😖

    • 1

MamaPagan yes, effectively, quite a headache for the logistics. Specifically when a custom made costly item turns worse than a chepo-box-store one. Times are going.... Is bra making on a all time low ?

The uniformity of modern bright-light bio-cotton bra shops is nauseating. Something out of the 85-90 B/C hard padded shells norm drives them in mental collapse.

A recent nasty chemio turned things around quite bad and induced a very quick weight gain.

Most of my Doreens and CrossYourHeart will be soon out of purpose. Both models been phased out, precisely when my fleet shows signs of wear&tear, misfit and elastic lazyness.

So whatever chest-band I buy now will be loose in a few months as I loose the surplus.

Bras & boobs are a magnificent demanding challenge that I'm blessed to experience first-hand.

Thanks 4 sharing, I adore to learn more and more each passing day. This place is a wonder of all wonders, so much know-how, so much experience.

Have a super day, best regards,

      Mathy

Wow I love SMs, especially this bra! I also have the Triumf in a 65F -- I think next time I purchase directly from Ewa Michalak, I'm going to custom-order a 60FF. The cups fit my 28F bust perfectly, but I have to fasten the bra on the second set of the four hooks even though it is new (and it still a bit too loose). Hopefully it stands up well enough over time!

Another one of Ewa's bra fails. The band stretches to 32", and the wires are wide and wrap around my sides past my armpit. This makes the cups too tall for me and I'm drowning in fabric.

The page says "the band is quite tight." Sure, if you wear a 75 it is tight.

      Yikes! I can't believe it stretches to a 32". Oof. That's super bad :/

    • Wide wires and tall cups? Sound like a bra from a UK brand. I thought EM is known for narrow wires. That band though ugh...

    • The band is too stretchy and it pulls the wires back, Ewa Michalak Hm Sekret Wiktorii (618) has the same problem.

    • All cups are too tall for me, but wide wires exacerbate the problem because my boobs are splayed and they just flop sideways instead of facing forward. Combined with my ski jump root shape, the bra is too tall.

    • Now that I've had a chance to measure it, the wires are 6.5" wide. This is very wide for Ewa. It's either very poorly sewn, or someone decided to take a 70J and slap a 60K label on it.

    • 1

It's just horrible that bras with such oddities are allowed to pass quality control and be sent out when they clearly are not done correctly. Sorry you got stuck with yet another dud. :-(

    • 1

I bent the wires inward and it shortened the band up quite a bit. I'm giving it a test drive today. The cups are still a bit tall, but since everything is I don't care anymore. If it stays put all day I'll at least have another wearable bra!

    • 1

Awesome! I hope it lasts the full day in comfort. 🍀

    • 1

*crosses fingers* I hope it works out for you.

I know sometime back when I ordered my last set of 65's they stretched to a round a max of 27 point something inches...so although not ideal, maybe a 65 can work? (this is of course assuming they continue with that trend) since their 60 band is being wonky. But then their wires may be too wide for you :/

    • 1

Ewa is so inconsistent in her band sizes. 🙄

    • 1

They all are nowadays, so at least Ewa is consistent at being inconsistent! 😄
