Ewa Michalak SM is my jam. Soft bra of choice, and I really don't think I have any interest in trying any other kind.
The band is snug, not tight. But! The bottom elastic in the band is thin or something because it leaves deep angry red groves on my skin. None of my others do this, it stretches away from my body an appropriate amount, and it doesn't hurt. I don't understand what's going on with it. It happens even if I use an extender (which also causes the band to ride up, so ?????). The cups fit me well and the wires are, again, great. No complaints ...there. The straps are awful. Long, thin, and super stretchy like my Czarna. They dig in and they're already adjusted more than halfway. I hate you super elastic straps! Anyway, the adjusters stay in place well and as emphatic as my complaint is, they're really not that uncomfortable. I just run a finger under them every so often and go about me day.
The embroidery on this is so pretty, as are most other Ewa bras. I like the icey lilac with the black. A good contrast. I was worried the black would bleed onto the purple when I washed the set, but it didn't.
Size 36 bottoms for me (38" wide hip/31" hip bone). The briefs started out a bit tight and dug in a bit. After being washed and worn twice they have relaxed and fit perfect. Read more 136 more words
This lovely bra was what convinced me to finally order something from EM. It is so beautiful!
Unfortunately, its only 'ok' on me.
I used EM's sizing calculator (exhaling and pulling tight, as advised elsewhere), and was put in a 70HH. I wrote them, asking for help, and they suggested I try the BM Perla in 70HH, but this bra in a 70J - i thought it was because the SM cut ran smaller than the BM cut, but I think it is more because the materials in this bra are just not stretchy, whereas the Perla's material is.
Which means that this ...bra is a LITTLE small on me. The stretched band is almost 3 inches smaller than the Perla, but with the extender, the straps still stay on my shoulders, so thats fine (and hopefully I'll find my black extender, those little things are so easy to lose!)
The cups, as mentioned in some other reviews, are shallow and tall. Its not very clear in these pictures, but my larger breast looks a bit squared off in this bra - which is a strangely common problem for me, but apparently extremely rare for other people? There is also loose fabric at the top - more than there was when my Floris was new. However, like the Floris lace, it does not seem to show through, so it seems to be ok.
One thing that really surprised me between the two bras - this SM seems to separate my breasts better, and come higher on me, than the BM. I had assumed the SM would be lower-cut. Of course, it could be in part due to the larger size in this SM - but in my lowest-cut top, the bow of this SM is visible fairly easily (keep in mind, I'm short, everyone looks down on me) - whereas the BM Perla was almost invisible.
I'm hoping the band will stretch some over time . . . but I'm not really confident. This is some really, really firm material. Its one of those mysteries - the bra that I stared at on line for months, imagining how beautiful I'd feel in it, does not make me nearly excited to wear as a more plain bra . . because it doesnt fit as well.
Edit: apparently I had not properly scooped-and-swooped - this bra seems to fit me well now! Hubby says it holds me higher up than some others. and after washing, its not too itchy. Tho the lace under the underwire sometimes gets caught under the cups, and that does hurt. Read more 345 more words
I think this fits like a loose 70hh, perhaps tts 75h? I usually wear 70h in SM, but surprisingly this fits well. The cups are a bit taller than my 70Hs, which is to be expected since I have Short roots. I guess I am still learning my unlined size. I get much better projection in this, but I can't shorten the cups... would love it if I could modify the cup height of unlined bras. I hate how everything is full coverage on my short roots...
This is a close fit for me. I am pendulous, projected, narrowish, soft, center full and short rootedish. The fact that gore is over lapping and less than .4" wide is amazing. Still doesn't tack, but I think I might need to go up one cup size. Go up a band size in this bra. My 36 band only goes up to 34.5.
This bra is gorgeous. Prettier in person, truly.
Straps are fully adjustable, and stretchy, but not too stretchy.
Bra is fully sheer, with no bottom panel to obscure. I didn't really notice the embroidery being seen through my jersey tank top, but it was a black tank.
Wires are narrow, and might be just a touch too narrow for me.
This is the most beautiful bra I have ever owned. It feels like a shame to put a shirt over it. I don't have a lot of experience with the SM series, but it feels like a tight band for a 75 and an average fit in the cups compared to others in the series.
I find EM's band material to be somewhat uncomfortable and irritating, and so this whole bra is a little uncomfortable to me because it feels a little tight and itchy but I'm thinking that will go with wear. I stay in place all day with this bra. There were some threads from here and there on the embroidery but EM seriously out did herself this time with the design. And did I mention it was beautiful?
Oh one other small con would be that the straps gape, though I think this has something to do with my highset breasts and/or short root?
This bra is absolutely beautiful, probably the prettiest bra I have ever owned. Unfortunately I wanted to change sizesas the previous bra was too large in the band, and have lost weight since purchasing the bra, so the cup size is a little too large. But despite the slight looseness of the cup the band sizing is much better and it is still wearable.
Ewa's sizing is different from standard companies so it pays off to use her measurement calculator (which is on her website). The style is SM which is a balconette style for medium, large busts.
The fabric is a beautiful purple and black floral lace ...with some really lovely bows. The cup is made up with 3 pieces in the lower part of the cup and then a single piece of lace over the top of the bust.
The underwires are nice and narrow which is really fantastic and means you don't get stabbed in the underarm. The back has 3 hooks. I love the fact that this bra has a small band as I have a short torso, so it is very comfortable not having a wide bra band.
