Love this bra! It's my first Ewa Michalak SM style, and I definitely want more (SM Malinowy on the way as of 6 weeks later! 😉). This gives the same slight peak as the S style, but a little more minimized due to the lack of padding. This bra in particular with its sheer tulle is lovely for hot summer days! The stretched band is measuring 0.5" tighter than my BM Szmaragd and S Diament at 30" new; after wearing regularly for 6 weeks it stretches to 31" max before wire distortion, while S Diament stretches to 32" after being wrong slightly less over the same time period. Czarna Mgielka has fully adjustable straps and slightly overlapping gore. The bow on the gore is really large!
This fits remarkably well. The cups allow enough immediate projection that my tissue is not forced against the gore or outer cup wire. The seams are nearly undetectable under knits. And, for those of us with short roots, the cups are blissfully short. I do, however, require a smaller band. Surprisngly, this has a minimizing effect which is required with many of my XS shirts. With trepidation, I will find a 65FF and hope it fits as perfectly as this. Beautiful, practical, and sexy. How often do "sexy" and "practical" reside in the same sentence? https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" /> https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" />
This cut is completely new to me, I got it from an exchange with martka00. I’m quite surprised this actually fits. I was really reluctant to try this cut as it comes in one cup size bigger that I’m used to wear. What is new to me: - Underwires – they are wider, which is a nice change. I like the narrow underwires in all my EM bras but they’re sometimes too narrow and the breast tissue is trying to escape the cups. They’re also very hard which I don’t quite like. I really feel them on my ribcage. -The cups run really high under my armpits. I’m not sure if ...it means the bra is a little bit too big (but the cup fit seems OK to me) or by breast is set too high… The side part of the band is also really high and I don’t really need that. -The straps are very wide. Once again, it seems excessive to me but I guess I’ll have to get used. The bra itself is very pretty in its simplicity. The sheer material seems very solid but it’s also a little bit itchy. I guess this kind of material can be either solid or soft. The band is firm, I need do fasten it on the second hook. The straps are long but happily fully adjustable.
I don't know if I should be happy this style fits or I should rather cry. There's so many beautiful bras now I can try out!
EDIT After wearing it for a few hours
I must say that this bra is very comfortable despite of the issues with the underwires and the wings height. I would even say that the large band is a plus because the pressure is spread over a larger surface. I eventually decided to wear it on the first hook and the band is supportive enough.
About the shape: it's an unpadded bra so there's no point to compare it to a padded style, it's obvious my breast aren't lifted as much as in the CH or PL cut. But there's still a difference in the shape it gives compared to the only 3DM I have (Burek). As some of you have noticed, the S style provides more support than the 3DM. But in my case, as the underwires are wider (which is not a bad thing as I said), my boobs are less "centered" than in Burek. To sum up: - Burek provides a nice (for an unpadded bra) cleavage, at the cost of very narrow underwires - Czarna Mgielka provides more support and uplift, at the cost of a slight east-west effect I guess this must be a consequence of the bigger cup size. The perfect choice would be the non-existent 65E in this style https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />
I just received my first Ewa Michalak SM, and it's love at first wear.
I was looking for a bra that would fit as well as my beloved unlined Cleo balconets, but with a more grown up, sexy look (think less ditzy polka dots, more va va voom chic), and boy does this bra deliver!
Let's start with the shape it gives me, WOW! My boobs are front and center, and very very round. I hear a lot of people say that the SM cut gives them more of a natural shape, but on me it's really super round, even rounder ...than my Cleos. On top of that, my boobs are hiked up really high, my husband even remarked on their perkiness. I'm used to well lifted boobs by now, but this some A level lift. It gives me very soft looking cakes on a plate style cleavage, which I love.
Second, the bra is gorgeous! I've always love sheer bras, and this one strikes that perfect balance between looking minimalist, sexy and sophisticated with its black mesh and black lace trims. The contrast between the sheerness of the mesh and the opaque seams and lace details just really appeals to me. It's very light to wear, which is also a big plus for me. The straps are long, fully adjustable and do not slide down.
In the Pl cut I'm in between a 75FF and a G cup, but for this cut the FF is the right size. The seams are laying flat and do not cut into my tissue at all. I have no gaping at the top, and no quad boob whatsoever. Ewa's site said that the band runs tight, and I agree as it's tighter than my PL Triumfs, which is good for me as I seem to be in between band sizes for this brand. The gore is lower than those of my Cleos, and the wires don't come up as high under the arms either, which is nice for a change. I'm wearing the bra for about two hours now, and it's really very comfortable.
As this bra is completely sheer I do see a small fit issue in my pictures that I have suspected I have in most of my well fitting bras: the wires do not follow my IMF perfectly on the inside curve towards the gore. The thing is, I have quite a wide space between my boobs, they are a good inch apart at least at the top, and even more at the bottom due to my splayedness. A bra that would perfectly follow that shape would need to have a pretty wide and very tapered gore. However, I also need bras with narrow wires, which almost always have narrow gores that go down in parallel (UU). I think that a bra that would truly follow my IMF all the way would give me a very east west shape (which my breasts have naturally). As I prefer to have my boobs pushed front and center, and the little bit of empty space at the inside of my wires does not seem to compromise the support this bra gives me I'm willing to live with it, but technically I suppose this bra is not a perfect fit.
My Cleo Minnie has been my favorite bra for a very long time, but this one seems to be destined to take over the top spot now.
With that in mind, I'm going to have to exercise some serious restraint now, because I do feel the urge to buy this bra in EVERY SINGLE color way. There is that lovely beige and black one, and that bright red version that's a little hootchy but kind of cool, and that pink and red one that has a bit of a carnival vibe going on, and the white and pink Wanilia that's only available on bra obsessed, and so on..... I've always wanted a sheer bra like the Freya Arabella (5721) but Freya's don't work for my shape. Since the 70E - Ewa Michalak » Sm Margot (434) worked for me, I figured this would too and it does! On their website, they say the band fits tight, but I found it to be the same as the Margot. Generally speaking, the fit is very similar to the Margot in the same size I own. I would say though, that this model is more closed on top because of the lacy part, but it doesn't seem to be an issue for me.
Pros: - Completely sheer! - Nice rounded shape and good lift
Cons: - Compared to the margot, it's poky under the arms and it left red marks. It might be an issue of breaking the bra in. - I don't really like the look of the lacy top section. I think narrower lace would be better.
Purchased this used from Bratabase, so keep that in mind with my measurements and review. My shape: full on bottom, soft tissue, narrow shoulders/roots. Fit: I am so sad! This bra, even though it's a band size smaller than what I usually wear, is stretched enough that it fits me nicely, even so much that I have to clasp it on the second to tightest hook. The straps are actually not a bother to me either! They seem to fit narrower than my other Ewa Michalak bras, which was a big surprise. No fabric digging into my armpits! But alas! The cups are not deep enough, or tall enough, to ...offer me much support. If this had stretch lace at the top, similar to BM or SF styles, I think it would fit so much better. I'm not a skilled enough seamstress to add that, however. This isn't the first SM style I have tried; I just can't pull off the lack of stretch lace cups. The price was right for this one, however, so I gave it one more try. I think I will avoid any other SM styles in the future, as they don't seem to go well for me! Appearance: Elegant sheer/mesh black bra with matching lace at the tops of the cups. There are two black bows at the center gore. Since this was a previously used bra, the size has been rubbed off of the label.
I bought this bra used at a great price as a pregnancy bra. I'm closer to 30FF at the moment, so this one will be for the later months. I'll come back and comment on the fit then.
It's a lot prettier in person than in the pictures. I'm more of a fun, bright colors kind of girl, and I don't usually like the "sexy" sheer aesthetic. I bought it for fit, though, not looks, and I don'tdislike it.
I marked the band as "altered" because of how old it is, but it actually still stretches to less than 30 inches, even though some if the little elastics in ...the band mesh are coming out. I don't see any significant signs of wear anywhere else, either.
Edit: At week 25 of pregnancy I'm now closing in on 30:10. I believe this bra is just going to be a shape mismatch for me. The depth and width are fine, but there is space at the top of the cups which I believe is being caused by an excess of cup height. If I pinch it shorter the space disappears, and it looks more like the balconette it's supposed to be rather than a plunge. I will try it again at a larger size and see if it ever gets better.
Edit: 33 weeks now, it never got better. Cups are definitely just too tall and too shallow at the bottom. Read more 132 more words
