At the height of one of my size changes (I was coming down from breastfeeding for about 11** (edited this. I can't recall when I first received this bra, but I would guess that I had it in heavy rotation for a year?) months at the time, I think?), this bra was the best fitting bra I owned. This SF was and is probably one of my favorite Ewa bras I have ever owned. The coverage was fantastic. Both my large and small breast were encapsulated to give a wonderfully rounded shape. It was a magnificent bra until I grew out of it. And then the wire snapped. I gave it a good, hard run, and it met all my expectations and more. Dying to buy another one, but I haven't found another SF that has worked, for me at least, as well as the Pin-Up.
Gorgeous & fun bra. Very supportive. Very secure fit. Wonderful, orb shape. Breasts nice and close together. Material other-worldly. Band VERY firm. Cups bordering on too small. When I move about I start to get bumps at the top of the cups but I think it's about 2% too small and I'm not sure I want to go down in the cup.
My shape: semi-conical, splayed, narrow width, tall shallow roots. My breasts don't conform to bra shapes very well and are quite short.
I was having some confusion about the sizing on the SF based on my experience with a 60J SF Trapez, and when I saw this on Zathiya I decided to try it. This bra measures the same depth as the 60J Trapez, but fits differently on the top. Both bras measure 12” deep, but the 60J lace feels tight on me at times. This bra does not feel tight and feels exactly the same to me on the bottom. I had measured a 60JJ SF Trapez a ...few months ago and it also measured 12” deep. I find it odd that the SF style measures the same depth in two sizes. The only difference I can discern between the two is that the gore and cups are taller on the larger size. The wires on a SF seem to be set more at an angle like / instead of | on the sides. It is not as projected on the bottom as a BM. I get a little bit of wrinkling on the outside and it slides down very slowly on the outer corners.
I wasn’t originally impressed with the colour scheme and the polka dots until I put it on. The bra is just so cheerful. There’s even little red bows on the back of the bra, something I didn’t notice until I took photos of the back. It did not take long for it to grow on me. I really like how this bra looks. I am adding this in for data/ informational purposes only. I do not own this braat this time.
SF Pin Up is classified as a Semi Soft bra (aka Semi Padded), though it has no padding what so ever. The logic is that the material is stiffer, and thus EM considers this padded, which it clearly is not. If you are looking for a padded bra, this is not for you. If you are looking for a supportive bra, then this one is perfect for you. Aside from the misleading description of the SF bras on EM’s website, this bra is quite nice. The pattern ...in blue with white micro dots and red bow accents.
Now for the specifics:
The band measures 23.75” to a max of 33.5". There are 3 hooks and 4 rows of eyes, which has been standard on every EM bra I’ve gotten so far.
Cup Depth as measured by: 1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance. This measurement is: 12.5"
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance. This measurement is: 14.5"
I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.
The wires actually overlap for the top half of the center gore, which is a bit odd. The sewing on this area looks odd prior to putting it on, though it doesn’t look or feel askew while on. There are 4 parts to the cup, three vertical, with one horizontal lace section on top.
Update 11/25/18: I pulled this one out of storage to try the fit again. I am at hi tide, about the fullest point of the month for me, so I opted to add new photos to compare. My breasts have grown a bit since I first got this one, but hi tide makes it even worse. Can't get my boobs in the bottom of the cup (only could at low tide when it fit anyway) and a lot of quadding on top of the cup. :-/ Back into storage for this one.
Lemme preface this by saying: wow, Ewa Michalak orders are so much faster than Comexims! I placed an order around mid-April, and received my package today, May 11. I wasn't expecting to get my bras until early to mid June! So that was certainly a pleasant surprise! Naturally, I ran to the bathroom to try both of my new bras on. (I ordered this Pin-Up and the new BM Fluo) I can already tell I'm going to have to do the strap placement adjustment on this SF; the fabric is digging into my armpit boob area. (I successfully completed that particular surgery on a used BM Kleks I purchased ...here a few months ago, and the fit is PERFECT after that. Thankfully, I have a sewing machine and some basic sewing skills, so I can do that pretty easily!) But WOW, other than that, this bra is so friggin adorable! It fits super well, the gore tacks, the band is nice and firm! I just feel like a fancy 50's lady wearing this cute bra. I really love the polka dots and lace together. The "padding" isn't really padding so much as an extra layer of stiff fabric on the bottom part of the cup. It really feels like wearing a BM style bra, but the extra fabric helps cover the nipples a bit better. It isn't uncomfortable or itchy or anything. The top part of the cup has the soft lace with a thin fabric mesh underneath it. It lays atop my breasts nicely and doesn't cut in or quad them out at all. I'll edit my review once I perform my strap surgery! Wish me luck!
I think this bra is gorgeous, first and foremost. I'm in between a 65 and a 70, I thought I'd loose weight to fit the snug 65, but decided it's more reasonable to buy a 70. The 70 fits wonderful. It's a very comfortable bra, gives a nice rounded uplifted natural shape. The cup is deep, but not as deep or as stretchy as the BM style.
