Fits

This review is for the Ewa Michalak SF Czarny Gładzioch in RED (which makes it a Czerwony Gładzioch) in 80F EU (36F UK). My ABTF size is 32FF/34F UK. Ewa doesn't offer this bra on the website but I asked if they could make the Czarny Gładzioch in Red and they agreed for only $10 more.

Band:
* Very tight. This fits like a 32 or 34, which I knew. Has 3 hooks by 4 columns.

Wires:
* Very narrow at 5.5 inches wide in the 80F.

Cups:
* 4 part cup, with 2 vertical seams. The bottom is standard knitwear. The top is elastic tulle.

Straps:
* The straps are fully adjustable and nice and ... stretchy.

Fabric:
* The fabric is very comfortable, no chafing at all.

Hardware:
* The hardware is matching red and it has clear button details.

About me: very close set (breasts touch), very narrow roots, very projected at the wire, full on bottom, short roots, soft tissue, significant rib flares, narrow shoulders.

FIT

* The band is smaller than you'd think.
* The wires are wonderfully narrow at this size.
* The gore tacks well for me.
* The cups are great for my short roots, full on bottom. I do have some wrinkling at the wire, but I can't blame it on projection since this is a Ewa. I do have "flatt-ish" roots so I think the wire is just too much of a capital U shape for me. Again, I knew this before I ordered it.
* The straps are plenty long enough and fully adjustable. Like all the Ewa's I've tried they do cut into my ToS much more than I'd like.
* The sides are a comfortable height for me.

OVERALL IMPRESSION
* I love it! Classic.

BUTTONS! The detail on this is BUTTONS and I love it! Not too feminine for me, nice and narrow, lifts!

This review is for the Ewa Michalak SF Czarny Gładzioch in 70G EU (32G UK), color Black. My ABTF size is 34FF/32G UK.

Band:
* Very tight. This fits like a 30. Has 3 hooks by 4 columns.

Wires:
* Very narrow at 5.5 inches wide in the 70G.

Cups:
* 4 part cup, with 2 vertical seams. The bottom is standard knitwear. The top is elastic tulle.

Straps:
* The straps are fully adjustable and have a nice embroidery pattern on them in black on black.

Fabric:
* The fabric is very comfortable, ... no chafing at all.

Hardware:
* The hardware is matching black and it has button details.

About me: very close set (breasts touch), very narrow roots, very projected at the wire, full on bottom, short roots, soft tissue, significant rib flares, narrow shoulders.

FIT

* The band is VERY small. I had to wear an extender. I think this 70 fits like a 30 (the stretched length is 31).
* The wires are wonderfully narrow at this size.
* The gore tacks hard for me due to being the wrong band size for me. I can wear it but it's never going to let me forget it's there. (SOLVED by wearing 2 extenders.) The wires are as narrow as could be at .75 inches. I really need to overlap the wires but I can't bear to wreck the button detail!
* The cups are GREAT for my short roots, full on bottom. I do have some wrinkling at the wire, but I can't blame it on projection since this is a Ewa. I do have "flatt-ish" roots so I think the wire is just too much of a capital U shape for me. I need to look into swapping the wires for an Emerald Erin in Carmen if I can get the right height.
* The straps are plenty long enough and fully adjustable.
* The sides are a comfortable height for me.

OVERALL IMPRESSION
* I'm counting this as a win! I'll try to get it in a 75FF or 80F/80FF for an even better fit, but with extenders this is a keeper for me. And my first 'bra that fits.'

P.S. I totally lied on the "set a fit" because I need to show this as "it fits." The truth is the issues are: band too small, gore too wide, can't fill bottom of cups.

  Great review! FYI, on the fit screen you can check off all the issues you had with the bra and then go on to 'personal assessment' and click that none of the issues you described are a problem for you to mark the bra as fitting.

  This looks great on you, I’m so glad it worked out and has a home now where it’ll actually be worn! Great review too, and the buttons are adorable. I wish more bras used buttons like this instead of bows. I found the band to run a bit snug too but I thought it was because the cups were way too narrow for me or I’d have mentioned that aspect, sorry about that! Once it’s broken in a bit you might find it loosens up though. I’ve found that clasping the band around a pillow for a day or so helps when a band feels too snug initially but the next size up feels too loose if you’re between band sizes or a particular brand happens to run small.
  
  I think it depends on the model whether Ewa bands run smaller or not though, I have a 70GG Szykus too and it felt more true to size than the Gladzioch when I could fit into it but that might be because it’s a cup size larger than the Gladzioch too. I still have it somewhere so I’ll have to measure the band and compare it to one of my Freyas in the same size to see since I know Freya bands usually run on the larger side.

  margesimpson Introvert I've heard in the past about EM bras being inconsistent about band sizing, but I'm unsure if that was something that was more of a problem several years ago and isn't anymore or not. In my experience, yes, EMs run smaller in the band than UK bras. It's great if you're in between sizes or on the small side of a certain band, but if you're more of a true X band or on the larger side of that band size, yes, a lot of people do size up.

Fits

SF Czarny Gładzioch is a smooth lace free SF style bra in all black. The material is silky smooth with a shiny instead of matte appearance. As with all the SFs, the upper section is stretchy allowing for asymmetry and variation in size. In this size (60L) the cup construction consists of 3 lower sections with two vertical seams, an upper horizontal stretch tulle section above the horizontal seam, and the Ewa signature outer wedge that connects the straps to the cups securely. The SF style is not padded, but the bottom of the cup is stiffened for more support.

I ordered this bra (along with the other 4) ... from MagdaBras4you. If you have not had the pleasure of ordering from her yet, I strongly recommend it. Her service is impeccable!

As for fit, the band is super comfy on the tightest hook set, with the gore being a hair under 2 fingers off my sternum. The cups are otherwise smooth and dreamy. Like with both my smooth brown SFs I have, this one is also super comfortable and I love the look, fit, and feel of it. As with the others within this order, my only complaint would be the thinner straps, but those are not a deal breaker on these bras. They are still wearable and comfortable, just not the quality as I’m used to.

This is officially my last Ewa bra review! I am taking a bra buying hiatus, and if I have the will power (& my size doesn’t change), I won’t be buying any more bras for 4 years. I do have one more bra (Decent Exposures) on the way, which will be more of a temptation to buy in the near future than Ewa at this point. I have a good solid stock of both SF and BMs which are my favorite styles, so I am not in need of any more wired bras. I could on the other hand use a few more wireless for both day and night, as who doesn’t need a good lounge and sleep bra? I prefer to only wear a bra once before putting it in the wash, so a few more wireless are quite tempting……

Now for the technical aspect:
All measurements are taken prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is obscured by the body. I also take all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.

The band measures 21.75” and stretches to a max of 27.15”. It has 3 hooks and 4 rows of eye loops.

Cup Depth as measured by:
1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance.
This measurement is: 12.5”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance.
This measurement is: 15”

I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.

Didn't fit

I know I said I said I'd wait for a full day of wearing it before writing a review, but apparently when it comes to sharing bra news, I'm impatient. So I'll add info if there's anything additional to add when I wear it for a full day.

So this bra works as an everyday staple. It's solid black and the lower half is made of a thicker material, that (to me) feels similar to the material on the bravissimo's sports bra. It's not quite the same. But they're similar in terms of thickness and stiffness (it's not too stiff but it does have some structure to it). It ... also has two vertical seams. The upper half consists of a folder over stretchy tulle. Now as much as a like the concept, what happens to me when I wear it, is that the top of that fold forms a little lip that prints through. So your mileage will vary on how you feel about that.

The maximum and minimum cup depth were recorded at 14.3 inches and 12.5 inches respectively. I had entered the maximum cup depth in the measurement table. he maximum cup depth was measured by stretching the cup over the knee and the minimum cup depth by hovering the cup between the knees and hanging the tape measure and recording that value. The band measures 23 inches not stretched and 28.8 inches stretched.

This bra has a few details such as a button at the gore and straps, as well as flower pattern on the straps, that takes it a step above basic. It really is a wonderful looking bra and quite comfortable at that.

The material is smooth against the skin and I have not found it to be itchy. As with other 65/30 bands, I hook it up on the second tightest hook and it could go tighter. Unfortunately, as it regards the cups there is some quadding on my larger side and a small bit on the smaller one.On a side note I just realised that one of the side pics may have made it look larger that it really is, due to the quadding on my larger side (it's behind the smaller one) and the lighting. So I'll make a note there.

I also feel like the gap between the straps and the body are more noticeable on this one, in comparison to the BMs. The gore doesn't lie flat either..it's maybe about half a finger - to a finger away from the sternum.

That being said, I really like this bra. I like the feel of it and the rounded shape it gives. So while this one is a miss. I don't count it that way.

Sometime in the future I'll probably try and SF again, but in a larger cup size and see how that works. The next on my to-buy list though, is the brownie bra.

  Frazzleberry I can't speak for others, but in my experience, my S size has always been a cup up from a BM size. It's that way with an SF and an SM shape for me as well (at least in the past). :)

  The S is too shallow on the bottom for me and too tall, so I went up a cup size from my SF size. This didn’t fix the tall problem but it was deep enough. The S is a lot smaller depth wise than an SF of the same size.

  I have it in my wishlist on Ewa's site. It's still there, but not viewable to the public, like Dita was 2 months ago. Not sure why, but with Topaz still being available, I don't see Brownie not being an option. So.....too early to panick just yet!
- I have to wonder if it is still because of the holiday/post-holiday buying spree. Blueberry's stock is getting low... there goes my chance of getting another size :(

  Sovavosi but Topaz is still at full stock and is the same lace as Brownie, so it's most likely another issue, like how Flamenco disappeared due to a lining quality control issue but returned a month later.

- Small band (almost like a 28 band) and cup depth compared to other bras in the size. So do you recommend sizing up in this bra? Ewa on her Website says rather size down if between sizes (but she probably talks about her other bras that run big compared to this one?).

  I think you'd want to try a 70 band in EM as all my 70s run at about 79-83cm. The 65s are way way too tight and only stretch to 76cm at most.

  The J/JJ/K cups are going to have a longer band than expected for their size. If your snug UB is at the max for a band size then don't size down the band (29" UB wearing a 30 band). If you're wearing the minimum size for your band (27-28" UB wearing a 30 band) size down on the band.

  Yeah the general consensus with SFs seem to be to size up. There are a few people, who can wear the same size in in their BMs and SFs but I think it's best to size up maybe?
  
  The band is pretty standard for their measurements.. it's more in line with the cm measurements than inches..so when you're checking your band size, measure in cm as opposed to the inches? There should be a +3cm stretch factor in the bra..I think, so take that into consideration also...

  There will always be rouge bras, both band and cup, so regardless of what is typical we have all experienced "surprises" with Ewa. I wear the same size for both SF and BM but the BM is slightly more spacious in the cup. Currently the SF is more reliable in sizing but with Ewa, this can change.
  
  Personally, I wouldn't suggest sizing down in band or cup. It is far easier to shorten a band than make it longer, and cups with a bit of extra space is far better than too small and painful.
- When Ewa cups are small, the de/compression is awfully painful, I don't know why. I'd always go for larger too.

  MamaPagan Thank you. Yes I could still alter the bra if it's slightly too big. 75K is the biggest size possible from the drop down menue with out a special order so I try that one first and go from there.

  From what I measured of the 60K SF and BM, the SF is about .5" to 1" shorter than the BM. This makes the cups "smaller" when they are really just not so tall.

Didn't fit

Let me start off by saying this is clearly the incorrect size for me. The band is too tight and the cups are too small. They don't have the volume to support my tissue without causing them to fold over on themselves. I LOVE the style of this bra, though. I'm such a fan of the SF line of Ewa Michalak bras. I'm very used to Elomi bras, so the SF style is pretty close to that. I will say that the stretch fabric on the Ewa Michalak bras is an upgrade over the Elomi. It's so soft and doesn't seem like it will ... pill over time. I'm a little bummed that they don't come in a size I think will be quite large enough in the cup for me. I think I could make it work with a 100GG, but a 100H would be better. Unfortunately, I think I have to look into the FB style, which seems a bit less likely to have the colorways/cuts I want, but I guess we'll see. The wires on this don't dig into my armpits, so that's a bonus. The button embellishment on the gore is a cute detail, but the ones near the straps seem like they might show under a very tight shirt. Not sure I'd keep those there.

Initial thoughts, will update later after wearing for longer. Liking this bra a lot so far!
The band is definitely firmer than my 70G - Ewa Michalak » Chp Lawenda (588) , which has a very comfy, stretchy band, but the cups fit better in this one.
This bra is great if you’re very FoB, like me!
The top part is soft and stretchy, so it fits both my larger and smaller sides nicely. Cup-wise, this is probably the best-fitting bra I have now, so I’ll be wearing it with an extender for a while and hope it stretches a bit. Sizing up (sister size 75FF - ... This bra has some very cute details like a little fabric embellishment at the gore, and I’m always a sucker for bras with buttons instead of bows! If the band is comfier with an extender, I’ll probably pick up a few others and these will be my daily wear summer bras.

Didn't fit

Another round of EM bras to try! These are all what I could find in my sizes for sale in the US, do somewhat limited. All of the 75Fs on these have three hooks instead of the 2 on the SF Iris, which I prefer but I think it kinda wierd?? All are without extenders, like the Iris I feel like I'm between a 75 and an 80 band.

I know the black sometimes has a different fit but this is the color they had available. I thought maybe smaller cup would reduce wrinkling at the top? And it did. It also sits right where is should on my ... root width. But now I've got this wrinkling/folding at the bottom of the cup, so this may be too small in that regard. The band is definitely snug and I would need an extender on this. I also feel like the straps cut into my tail of spense area a bit, and it seems kinda oddly proportioned to my body but I've also been wearing more fill coverage so maybe that's me.

Again I'm getting myself confused. I feel like this is uncomfortable enough because of the straps that's it's a no, but other than the bottom cup wrinkling I love how it hugs my breasts...

- Yeah, it's hard to assess fit when the band is too tight because it distorts the cups both along the entire underwire. Can you take a picture (or a few) or what this looks like with an extender and maybe add it to your fit request?

- I'm doing a test wear today with the extender. I don't have it extended "all the way" because that seems too big. I'm going to wear for a few hours and see. The wire is right on the edge of maybe being too narrow, so I want to make sure it doesn't cause me pain. I tried 80DD in BM and it was definitely sitting on my breast tissue on the side. I may have to stick with my Antonina for now in 80E and see how the Comexim's fit. I've also got a Kris Line coming to try. The never ending bra search!!
- It's frustrating yes.. but I find the search for a good fitting bra so much fun! It's just too bad it gets expensive. If you buy on paypal you can take advantage of their free return program at least. In Canada it gives us 12 returns a year valued up to (I think) $30 cnd.

  With an extender this may be a winner. I'm gonna try a nude 80DD since I have it extended so far and I prefer nude anyway. But it's comfy and my boobs look pretty and there's no gapping and very little wrinkling and minimal arguing with the straps (my shoulders slope slightly downward so I feel like there's always SOME slipping). But it's been several hours and I'm pretty happy!

Hasn't set fit

This model appears to fit me better than the CHP one. Might be a tiny bit small but not enough to be a bother. Very comfortable, can wear all day to work which I've never done in anything but sports bras before.

Didn't fit

Sigh— cups are okay, but the band is just far too tight, especially with only two hooks. It’s a lovely, well-made bra though, and though I will most likely sell this one eventually, I am keeping the 70G - Ewa Michalak » Sf Czarny Gładzioch (866) which fit me much better!
