    Fits

I have been covetting this bra for awhile and finally decided to go for it. So glad I did! It fits like a glove and compared to my other Ewa in a 100 band this one definitely is more firm and stretches to 39" comfortably whereas my others can stretch to 40" easily. Cup depth seems shallower as well but could be the S cut. I will need to compare with my other S. The only recommendation I would have is to make the harness style straps a little longer for wider bands. I cannot use the smallest one without it cutting in and pulling the straps of the bra inward. Not the best look. Other than that I have enough strapping options with the others it came with. Another great bra by Ewa! Wish she had more colors as I would get another for sure in a different color.

I'm re-reviewing this bra because, after revisiting the straps on a whim, I've finally figured them out. I hope I can demystify this bra for anyone else who comes to its bratabase entry hoping for some clarification.

I really wish Ewa would have released this with some form of instruction. A video of how they assembled the looks in the promo pics or a series of pictures or just some text instructions sent with the bra or anything at all. The design was clearly very thought-out from all the little features that allow you to do the different strap looks. But she didn't explain them at all, just... here ... you go, figure it out yourself, and you have to reverse-engineer her design thoughts from looking at the final product.

The basic strap attachments are: 2 small rings on the back band, a loop on the gore which is looped around the buttons when not in use, and on the shoulder straps. The shoulder straps are wide and padded, which is quite nice when you're wearing it as a regular bra, and they have a piece of the same material as the detachable straps sewn on, tacked down at several heights so you can hook on the straps at several positions.

There are 5 straps, each different lengths. The longest one is adjustable. I really wish she had included doubles of the shorter ones because it would make doing the star a lot simpler. Another problem is that with the shorter straps being fixed lengths, they won't fit everyone. For me, they are too long, so I have to wrap them around the shoulder straps and then hook it.

The long adjustable strap is meant to go from back ring to gore loop to back ring, making a V. This is the basis of the layered strappy look and the inverted star. For the layered straps, after making the V you attach the other straps from shoulder, through loop, to other shoulder, one below the other. Pretty simple. The star is more complicated, I've done my best to explain, and taken pictures for reference. I start with the bra on, with the shoulder straps off, and pull the shoulder straps on after step 1.

    1. Hook the longest strap (the adjustable one) onto one of the rings on the back band next to the hook tape. Take the other side of the strap around the front and feed it through the loop attached to the gore. Hook it to the other ring on the back band. Adjust it so it is taut. So this strap should be going from back to gore to back, creating the "V" that will be the point of the star.

    2. Take the shortest strap and put it horizontally, low near the cups, only leaving room for the diagonal straps to attach below it. You may have to wrap the ends of the straps around the bra strap and then hook it if the strap is too long.

    3. With the 2 medium straps, attach them below where you put the short strap horizontally. Then go diagonally across and hook it on *the strap that you formed the V with*--NOT to the bra strap! Get it hooked and then push the hook back along the long strap as far as you can--this will pull it around your neck creating the choker-like look.

I wore it out with the straps in a star and I was surprised to find it never unhooked. Occasionally I had to push the diagonal straps back, but there were no dramatic strap-popping moments like I anticipated.

Overall, I really like this bra. It's extremely versatile as it's both an everyday black bra and... whatever else you want it to be. And I'm glad to have something in my lingerie collection that fits authentically into an alternative wardrobe and isn't an overly feminized or cheapened version of goth. Being of a less feminine gender expression, it's cool to have something that feels like it fits my self-image but is still detailed and sexy.

This got longer than I expected but I am really glad I revisited this bra. I just wish Ewa would have told us how to use it so it didn't take a year for me to start appreciating it!

I've decided to get myself this bra for my birthday, which is in 3 months. I hope I can figure it out too!

It looks like she did some wrapping of straps around each other to get it to make a star: https://anenhancedexperience.wordpress.com/2015/08/09/a-bra-masterpiece-s-przeplatanki/ - its down there somewhere

    • thanks dbmamaz ! I didn't think to wrap it around the strap.

    • I haven't worn this bra with the extra straps since I got it a year ago. I'm interested to try this pentagram. Where are the step-by-step pictures of how to do it?

    • I haven't worn this bra with the extra straps since I got it a year ago. I'm interested to try this pentagram. Where are the step-by-step pictures of how to do it?

    • I use the longest strap and the shortest strap. Pull the longest strap through the loop at the core so that it is about equal length on both sides. Then, pull each side through one of the loops towards the top of each shoulder strap so it forms a v-shape. Then, cross the straps in the front and hook the straps to one of the lower loops on the shoulder straps. You may have to shorten the strap by using the sliding adjuster. Use the shorter strap to create the bottom part of the pentagram by attaching it straight across your chest and attach each end to one of the lower loops. You may have to wrap each end around the shoulder strap a few times before attaching the hook, especially if you are narrow from shoulder to shoulder. I hope this helps. If not, let me know and I'll try to send step by step pics.

    Fits

I started the new year off with bra alteration adventure! I got this bra in a swap from martka00, despite finding the straps on my 65FF S far too wide. This bra, in its unaltered state, was not a great fit. The straps were cutting into my armpits and I had gaping at the top corners of the cups. I liked the fit of the rest of the bra enough to try my hand at some alterations. I found this strap alteration tutorial online http://dressingcurves.blogspot.com/2012/03/alterations-moving-strap-position.html and followed the instructions. I moved the straps in by 2cm on each side of the bra - and the fit is now almost perfect. I will admit that my alteration did not turn out as neat the one in the tutorial, but it is passable. I need some more practice before I try this on a bra with more detailing, but I am really happy with the improved fit. This bra is super comfortable.

    • Nice! Are you thinking about trying this on your Fluo as well?

    • veggiechic I'm a little nervous about trying it on the Fluo, as the lace is so delicate. I think I need a little more practice first.

    • This looks great!

    • 1

I think it looks better like this! It’s so elegant with its wider straps. Like a old Hollywood glamor.

    • cupandahalf I agree. I love the wide cushioned straps.

    • And those straps are super comfy for all day wear..... All bras should have straps like those.

    • 1

      MamaPagan agreed!

    • 1

Yay!!! You got an S to fit. It looks great on you now.
I'm taking another shot at an S. I included one in my order with Magda. If it doesnt work in 65G I'm gonna give up on ewa padded styles..

    • 1

rachaelll I had forgotten about this tutorial. Thanks for posting it again. I might try this on my new S, it can't possibly get any worse than it already is.

    • 2

AprilGoulding you might want to ask Magda to take the straps in for you on the S. MamaPagan said that Magda can arrange alterations before shipping the bras to Canada

    • 2

Sovavosi that's exactly what I thought! Hopefully, it works well for you.

    • If only there was a tutorial for adding depth at the base without adding height to the cup......

    • MamaPagan Someone on Reddit did that but they had to cut the bra apart and insert a new panel in vertically.

    • O.o Fabric matching would be difficult. .......oh, and my lack of seamstress skills would be an issue. Haha!

    • rachaelll if the bra fits but straps need moving, I'll get Julia at Ellesmere to do it.
I dont want to alter before trying it on, in case I need to sell it

    • 1

AprilGoulding that is a much more sensible idea.

    • Yes, @savovosi and MamaPagan, with my mediocre sewing skills I would imagine inserting some triangular darts at the bottom part of the seem(s) would be a way to do it. I would certainly be nervous to try, but it might be better than having a bra that doesn't fit sitting around.

    • 1

veggiechic I have the hardest time getting over the "you're wrecking it, OMG" feeling whenever I think about altering something.

    • 1

Been there, done that.....horribly, haha! Just remember if you don't succeed, it can't be worse than my Frankenbra failure, and I can send you that link to make you feel better. So far it has worked everytime at making others feel better with their sewing fumbles. :-D

    • Wow! It looks fantastic! I am so glad that it’s a good fit now. I really do love my 70E S Szykus but I know it is too small and I really want to try a 70F or maybe 65FF in another S (band has to stretch to 29” minimum, so whichever size will give me that). I would be so nervous about altering it myself, but it is probably among the easiest of the alterations as well as most useful. Well done! I hope you enjoy your new S bra.

This bra is extremely and beautifully uplifting but it does have wide set straps and obviously the added spaghetti straps are meant for creating fun designs but it also can be used to make the straps sit closer together like I have done especially in the back picture. The o my issue in still having is with the bottom area of the bra (wire?)feeling like it's bruising or like displacing a rib when I bend down or crouch. And honestly when I've had this issue before I wore a make shift corset just under the bra to make it like a long line. I wish ewa would be open to long lines but she doesn't seem to have any requests for one since she has customers complaining about tummy and or rib pain that makes me wonder if it would actually be helpful to have a long line to help eliviavte the pain directly on the ribs and to spread it out or redistribute it .

I'd been eyeing this bra ever since it first came out, but hadn't quite been willing to order from Poland, especially since my size was changing a lot. This model was bought on discount from Ebay with the expectation of having to take in the band, but it is actually very snug. Either this brand's larger bands run tight or this particular bra is mislabeled (it bears 3 labels, 2 saying 95GG, one saying XXXL).

This bra is made of a shiny almost-satin material, and the cups are lined with a cotton jersey. This bra has much wider straps than usual to accommodate loops for the extra straps that ... come with it, and I consider this a bonus. Wide straps make a bra much more comfortable! As is often the case for me with Ewa Michalak bras, the wires are a little narrower than ideal for me (I have a lot of under-arm tissue), but the projection makes up for it. I'm still playing with the extra straps, but they're fun to use and the bra works very well with or without them.

  8. This one is a very strappy black padded bra in the S style. The cups have 4 parts to them, 3 lower vertical sections and 1 upper horizontal section in this size. The cups are lightly foam lined, but also have cookie pockets and removable cookies.

The shoulder straps are also padded for comfort, and measure .75” wide where they attach to the cup but increase to 1.5” wide at the shoulders so these are so super comfortable! They also are lined with a ribbon that is sewn in a way to make loops for the extra strappies to attach to.

The extra straps are stretchy, and remind ... me of bikini ties. The bra comes with 5 total, 4 that measure to 11.5”, 13.25”, 15”, & 17”, and an adjustable one that measures 20.5” to 38.5”. They all have hooks on each end to attach to the ribbon at the gore and on the straps, or to the metal loops on the band in the back.

The band has the standard 3 hooks, and 4 rows of eye loops at this size. It measures 22” and stretches to a max of 29”.

The cup depth measures 12.5” (hovered between the knees with the tape measure just placed into the cups without any resistance) and stretches to 14.5” over the knee. The width is 6.15” with the gore at 4.5” tall and .7” wide.

I ordered this one simply because they had it listed under the standard dropdown, so I just had to buy it. (My size is always a custom order, so I’m not sure why this was available in the standard drop down, but woohoo! I got it without the custom size fee so I was happy!) Currently, I only have 1 true S style in a 60L and a FC/S in a 60KK, though I have tried 3 other S styles in a larger band prior. My S Zielony is an awesome fit until I hit high tide, at which point it becomes a bit too bulgy, and the FC/S Belladonna Nununu can only be worn at lowest tide before becoming bulgy (though the extra lace hides that quadding well.) This one measures like my other S 60L, but fits more like FC/S so great for lower tide, but won’t be wearable during most of the month. This one had perfectly spaced straps so not too wide set and they don’t eat my armpits!!!

With the comfort of these straps, I am very tempted to try & buy it again in a 60LL for the higher points in my cycle.

It looks like it fits great, and the straps look super cool. Yay for a win!

    • Thank you veggiechic : -)

At this point lowest tide in this one actually gets a bit gapy, and at highest tide a bit quaddy, but otherwise good and the shoulder straps are super comfortable! The joys of my ever changing boobs!

This one isn't available any longer, but I do believe their multi-way one has similar padded comfort straps. You might like it too!

I love the strappy design, them black thin straps look awesome. Fits in same size as my other EM bras.
Initially I did not notice the small strap wrapped around the butons on the gore, so took about half an hour to figure out how to use the straps.
I would also prefer if the cups were taller and a little bit flatter to keep my bust closer to my body. I do not see it looking at the pictures I posted here, but I felt it when I saw my reflection on windows as I walked on a street https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
But overall I am happy to have this bra.

I love this bra. It fits great and the straps are so cute. I love the extra padding on the shoulder straps and I love the shape. It’s perfect for me as most brands are not nearly projected enough for me. It is much stiffer though having a handmade well constructed bra compared to day curvy Kate. This bra is no where near as stretchy.
