    Fits

I absolutely love this bra. I have three (2 65GG, 1 70GG) and wouldn't hesitate to get another. I have narrow, FOB, very projected breasts and this bra fits great. I live in this bra in the summer because the convertible straps make it wearable with most clothes. I have had some trouble with the straps slipping out, but it's never happened with the open end facing inward. I altered one set of the padded straps so the hooks face opposite directions so the don't pop off when worn cross-back and that has worked great. The padded straps are surprisingly practical and when worn cross-back rarely show, if at all, with most racerback tops.

REVIEW WRITTEN BEFORE ASKING FOR FITTING HELP!

I bought this bra from another Bratabase member on my old account last year knowing it wouldn't be a perfect fit, but I really wanted an Ewa Michalak!

Firstly, the band and cups are both too big in my opinion however despite this I still feel somewhat great in it, especially when I also have tight clothing on as it pushes my boobs even closer together and they touch (woo!).

The band - the band seems to ride up on either of the hooks, but I can't tell if that's just the bra's shape or it is actually too big, or if it's ... too small and the straps are pulling it up? It also REALLY hurts at the end of the day on the front of my ribs where they begin to curve. Again, not sure if this is because it is too small, which wouldn't make sense as my ribcage is at least 10cm smaller than its maximum stretch, or a material or simple incompatibility isssues.

The hooks - the hooks appear to be stretching even though the band is able to stretch 10cm bigger than my ribcage, I am really not sure why this is.

The cups - despite my biggest breast perimeter being 24cm and the cup being 24cm I definitely feel that the cups are too big. It's probably because of the shape of my boobs and that they're quite soft after having a baby. The extra padding that this bra comes with is quite thin so it barely makes a difference and because of this I prefer to add another set of padding from another bra I have which does give me a slightly better fit. I also feel that I'd like the outer side of the bra to be slightly higher to keep that sneaky side tissue in! Nonetheless, in spite of these issues the cups do generally give me a lifted perky look.

The gore - the gore doesn't hurt when I wear the bra really, but I did get red marks which have now turned into permanent bruising. I assume this will go when I stop wearing this bra. I think this may be because it is too low and sits right on that center bone.

The straps - I have to tighten the straps quite a bit to feel enclosed and lifted, I am not sure if this is because the cups are too big but I suppose this is likely the reason. I get red marks from the straps no matter how loose I have them, and unfortunately the comfort straps that come with the bra do not shorten enough for me. I think my boobs are somewhat high on my chest and I am 5'5 which is probably why, if this helps...

The wings - they are quite small I suppose, and I think that I prefer something a little bigger but it definitely isn't an issue. The wings are quite stretchy also.

I think I have covered most things... so overall, despite all of the issues I have I continue to wear this bra as it gives me the best uplift that I have known that didn't involve wear a bra that was obviously too small. I think that Ewa Michalak could be great for me if I find a better fitting bra and possibly a balconette as opposed to a plunge.

  3. This was my first EM order so it was a bit of a gamble. For reference, I normally wear Freya Deco 28G and find that a 30 back on @Masquerade is usually too big and rides up. I'm currently 3 months pregnant - I'd already upsized to a 28GG but was spilling out of the cups hence the drive to take the plunge with EM since I'd been sized out of the Deco range (can't wear balconnettes as too FOT).

The EM calculator suggested I was a 70G but after a lot of researching user reviews here I decided to order a 65GG due ... to being FOT and favouring firmer bands. I ordered a combination of sizes in PL and CHP to understand EM styles, accommodate my expanding cup size and give my ribcage room to expand.

The 65GG in the PL Onyks only just fits in the cup now if I take out the extra padding, although I'm hoping my breasts don't grow any bigger for a while as there is zero margin for additional volume.

The band on this bra wasn't as tight as I expected after reading some of the reviews - I can fasten it on its tightest hook if desired (its only my second day wearing it) and it is very comfortable on the loosest hook. I feel confident that I'll be able to wear this bra throughout my pregnancy as the band is very stretchy - my cup will runneth over way before the band will get too tight.

Comfort-wise this bra is sensational! I'm currently wearing it with the comfort straps - as other reviewers have mentioned, I need to have these straps tightened all the way to avoid them slipping off my shoulders, but they are indeed comfortable. I love that the underwires do not come up too high under my arms but yet the breast tissue is fully enclosed.
The shape is different to the more projected CHP style (I bought the famme fatale in the same order - see related review) but I do feel very supported and secure despite the low gore and plunging neckline (although my breast tissue is quite firm).

I did encounter one issue that I thought I'd share as it is not mentioned on the EM website. When I tried to place the order I could not find a way to pay and received an error message which said 'You have selected an invalid form of delivery, you didn't select it at all, or we do not deliver to your country'.

After a few emails to EM it turns out that they cannot accept orders with a total value of more than 700 Zlotys in a single transaction and orders over that amount must be split into multiple orders with postage. I think it is something to do with the Polish Air Mail postal system. It is not an automated system issue as EM could not process my order in one transaction manually either.

Once the issue was resolved I ordered the bras on 21 January and they arrived in Australia on 3 February which I thought was quite quick.

Me: soft, FOB, kind of empty on top

My very first thought on putting this one one was: What a comfortable bra! It is the perfect snugness (not too much, not too little), the fabric is so smooth and supportive, and the comfort straps are like little pillows on your shoulders.

I swapped out the straps for the regular ones for funsies and found I liked the cleavage better however.

I have very soft breasts, and this is a plunge I can wear fairly securely with very little readjustment during the day. The key is not scooping and swooping too aggressively - otherwise the nipples ... start pointing too far towards center and I get a lot of spillage. I need to make sure that my nipple is in the apex of the bra and then it is smooth sailing!

Bra is one of the best constructed Ewa bras I've come across. It is double layered at the band (mesh and the matte black fabric), has built in pockets for included pads, the elastic is perfect, the details are very subtle and sexy.

I don't get that same crazy cleavage that others are getting (I never will, lol), but my breasts round up nicely in this bra and it doesn't show under low shirts. I tried the 65DD (I'm sorry I forgot to measure it before I sent it back) and had fantastic mounding but the wires were a little too narrow (cup too small). So if you're just between sizes, the smaller one will give you the best cleavage.

    Didn't fit

I must say I now know what the fuss about Ewa Michalak bras is. The lift provided is incredible, and I don't consider myself to have boobs that are low on the chest. This really lifts like no other bra I've ever tried.

I received this bra with only the comfort straps, which are really soooo comfortable. I love them, and wish all bras came with straps like these. They don't adjust short enough though, which is a pity. I actually had to put the straps in a cross-back style as I seemed to be spilling out towards the centre and the cups were gaping on the sides. With ... the straps in a cross, they actually managed to lift the cups enough so the gaping is much reduced, but my boobs settle into the cups as the day goes by and the gaping is back. I suspect that my full on the bottom boobs are not suitable for plunges, but I really hope not, because I love how they look.

The band is very tight, nothing like a UK size band at all, even though I got this bra used. Initially, it felt comfortable, but started to chafe as the day went by. I'm using it with an extender now, and even when the band was too loose, the seams in the band dug in and chafed.

I wish the seams are not so obvious, as they do show through most of my clothes. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Overall, I'm pretty impressed with this brand's ability to engineer a flattering fit. This won't be my last bra from them!

    Fit:
This bra is spot on for me in terms of fit. The band is snug on the longest set of hooks. The straps adjust to the right length and the padded, extra-wide comfort straps are, well, super comfortable. The underwires encase my breast tissue closely, without lying on top of it. The cups have good forward projection and create the perfect hint of cleavage.

    Appearance:
I love the Onyks' understated sexiness. It's mostly matte black with black sating edging and two shiny buttons between the boobs. The amount of cleavage I get is very nice and can be "aided" by using the removable padded inserts.

    Didn't fit

This bra pretty much fits the best of any bra I own, despite the small issues that will have it show as "doesn't fit".

This bra is really comfortable! I didn't understand how a bra like this could be so comfortable, but it really is. I especially love how the cotton lining feels on my breasts. (I'm used to various types of mesh and stiff fabrics.) The padding feels comfortable and protecting, but I'm a little concerned it will be too warm in the summer.

The padded cups are a different experience for me! I've never had a padded bra before. The plunge is not a problem for me, even ... with my soft boobs, due to the larger sizes having a higher gore, it's really not that plunge-y. I really appreciate how the cup has more sections in bigger sizes (in this size, 3 vertical sections), but I actually feel like at this size it could use one more seam, about in the middle of the outer section. This would make the projection and shape a little better, and help move some of the volume out from under my armpits where I can't use it as well. When I first put the bra on, the top of the cups gape some, however once I swoop and scoop, and especially if I lean forward at all, they are filled nicely, and I certainly wouldn't want them any smaller. I'm a little concerned that there's a bit of depth-related orange-in-a-glass going on at the bottom of the cups because they are a little too shallow at the wires for my deep-immediately boobs.

I would prefer if the cups were just a bit wider, though. The wires hit just to the inside of the outside of my breast root. However, due to the wires being padded and softer than some brands, it doesn't hurt or anything. It fits best when I stretch the top of the wires backwards a little while pulling my breast tissue into them, but they don't really stay like that. I could use the top edge of the band to be a little tighter/more pulled towards the middle of my back. I think the only way to accomplish this, really, would be a wider (4 or 5 hook) band.) Bending the wires to fit the curve of my body does improve the fit a little, both as far as where the wires hit, and the bottom of the cup issue.

The band is pretty good. Most 34 bands feel comfortable, or even loose, on the tightest hook right away, but this is comfortable on the 1st hook, so generally a good fit. I do wish the elastic along the bottom edge of the band were a little wider, it's pretty narrow and digs in a little. If it were wider, the pressure would be more spread out. Likewise, I think it would be better if this bra at this size had 4 hooks (much as I find more than 3 hooks impossible to close, the bra would definitely fit better like that). I think a wider band would help counterbalance the weight of my breasts better, and also distribute the pressure over a wider are of my back, and along the entire height of the wires. The stretchy material of the middle of the wings is very smooth and comfortable.

Ok, the straps. So this bra is supposed to be a multi-way, with regular straps, comfort straps (wide, padded shoulder section), and a halter strap. Ok, neat idea, certainly nothing else even close to this size comes with detachable straps. Except it would work better if the straps STAYED ON!!! I attempted to try on this bra and the straps kept flying off, mostly in the front, but in the back too. (It was kinda funny, actually https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> I seriously had to go and sew the attachment tabs tighter around the hooks to even be able to try it on. I think I'm just going to stick with the comfort straps (which are lovely, by the way, truly comfortable) and just sew them on, since I really don't imagine needing the interchangeable straps really (hah! halter? on me? Not a chance!) Then they will be secure, and also the attaching hooks dig into my arms, so sewing the straps straight on will fix this as well. I will probably attach them a tiny bit further in, if that works, to get the straps out of my arms, and have a little closer to center-pull for the cups.

I have only worn it for a few hours at a time, so far, so once I fix the straps and actually wear it for a longer period of time, I will try to update this review.

    • Thank you for your review. It's very helpful! I've got my first Ewa OTW in a 36KK as per the calculator (hahaha, yeah, we'll see about that). I was looking at the multi-way bras today and considering them for my shop. I thought it was good that Ewa did eventually make changes after buyers telling them that the straps were too wide, but my last experience with a multiway was some, oh, ten cup sizes ago and that didn't work out well then. Nice concept, though. I would sew them on myself, too. One less step from altering them completely.

The band on this feels very tight, even as compared to other Ewa Michalak plunges. I'm currently wearing it with an extender. I suspect a size larger band would stretch out too fast, though.

    Hasn't set fit

The cups are too soft to be a strapless and this bra seems to run quite small, by 1-2 cups. Not to mention the crushingly tight band The straps are likely too short to work as a multiway for most people as well
