    Hasn't set fit

Exceptionally beautiful! I just can’t resist a purple bra, and I own quite a few… at this point, I’ve decided purple is a neutral, in my bradrobe at least https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> PL Fairytale is a deep indigo with the most incredible lace I’ve ever seen… swirling ribbons, leaves and flowers that look especially beautiful and delicate on the back of the matching underwear. It does almost look like the illustrations that would be in the margins of an old-fashioned fairytale storybook, so the name is very apt, I think! The straps are trimmed with lavender satin and bows… I die!

The fit for ... me is true to size in the band and cups. The low gore gets out of the way of my boobs and provides a nice deep cleavage. My only gripe with this bra is the shape: while it’s very narrow and compact from the front, from the side it’s super projected and not quite as rounded as my ideal. Hopefully, this will get better with some wash and wear. Overall, I think this is a very high quality bra and I’m in love with the aesthetic https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

    • So pretty! Looks fab on you!

    • That is a beauty!! I have been on the fence about getting an Ewa; I think I just need to bite the bullet because I need a gorgeous purple bra in my life. :)

    • It's kinda neat that we're all getting our bras now. I got mine saturday and wore the set then. Mine is in your sister size 55H and I'm in love! The straps look much better on you then me though. My band ran a little small, but I heard it ran stretchy...so I was nervous and glad it didn't! It looks amazing on you!

    • This looks so beautiful on you! I was hoping mine would come in today but I didn't get that lucky. It's absolutely gorgeous though.

    • So nice!!

    • Thanks everyone!!

    • I'm relieved I ordered the same bra, VioletIridescence ! It looks stunning in your pictures. Thanks for the review!

  2. This is my first Ewa bra and I love how pretty it is. I have FOB, centre full, short rooted breasts with a lot of immediate projection. It has taken a lot of trial and errror to figure out what I should be looking for in a bra and this one works well for me. This bra gives me the most cleavage of any bra I own. It comes with cookie pockets and I had a cookie in the left cup in the pictures. Fit wise, the band is comfortably snug, the gore is firm but not uncomfortable against my sternum, the narrow wires encase my breast tissue ... without sitting on it. The overall fit is good and I don’t worry everything will fall out if I bend over. I don’t have any collapsing of fabric at the wire, a common issue with my bras. The only issue is a slight overhang of tissue at the gore on the right side (my larger breast). The top of the cup is not loose and lays comfortably on my breast tissue.

Overall I am really happy with the quality and fit of this bra. I would like to try a cup size up to see if I can resolve the issue of centre tissue spillage (minor, but present with this bra) while maintaining a good proper fit. This bra works for times when I want to have cleavage, but it does push my breast tissue in more than any other bra I own, which is a look I am not used to having.

If (let’s face it, when) I buy another Ewa plunge, I will be trying this size plus a cup size up to get a sense of how the fit changes. This is a beautiful bra that gives me good lift, supports my soft breast tissue and gives me full cleavage while ensuring that everything stays in place.

I am considering purchasing this bra, seems I have a similar shape to you. What do you mean by this pushes your breast tissue in more than any other bra? Like flattens you or brings tissue front and center?

    • 1

I love the PL cut too.

    • I mean it brings it front and center. I like the shape the bra gives me. I struggle to find bras that give me the immediate projection I need and this one does.

    • 2

Have you tried the reverse-swoop? I always had to do that with Ewa's because she does not have much room for center fullness, so I pull my breasts to the outside of the cups where there seems to be more room

    • 1

dbmamaz I do a little reverse scooping. When I got home from work on Thursday everthing had moved to the centre, but I hadn’t checked placement through the day. I find if I don’t adjust properly the left cup cups around my breast nicely whereas my right side just pushes straight out.

    • 1

i totally forget to reverse scoop last time i wore an S lol - i'm so addicted to my FBs now because they fit so much better

Looks like a wonderful fit! Beautiful bra!

    Didn't fit

This Fairytale did not have a happy ending. I am disappointed with Ewa's team: the gorgeous lace in this bra could have been far better utilized.

    Pros:
Lace is super pretty, cups run true to size, low gore and wings don't poke at all, the straps are wide and comfy and very pretty.

    Cons:
Lace application is sloppy, band runs loose and rides up.

It's a more natural shape from the side but it doesn't bother me. I get great cleavage from the low cut gore. This bra just falls short of being the perfect princess bra.

    • Can I ask what "runs loose" means? The measurements you have say that it stretches to 31"; the average on the size says 30.1". That's exactly what I would expect from a 65, so I'm a bit puzzled :|a

    • 1

On reflection I'm guessing you mean it doesn't feel firm or supportive! I definitely have some bras that measure exactly the same but one is made of very firm fabric and so feels tighter (and more supportive) than the other. For example my Panache Sport underwired bras, they measure the same amount of stretch as some Cleos I own but the Sport bras hold their shape much better...

    • 1

I always can never get that clear. I promise I'll get it right next time! With Ewa, I expect her bras to run to 29/30 inches, exactly true to size. To me, 31 inches is not true to size but rather large or 'loose' for that band size since it measures an inch more then it should. So I consider this band large for a 30 which definitely impacts the support. :)

    • 1

      Looks incredibly gorgeous!!!!

    • 2

I like your comments in your blog about the band. I think you have a similar back to mine but smaller. The shape means that when the band rides up a bit our back fluff squishes out causing more rolls, the band to bite in, and less support as the band continues to slide up. It's never going to look like its riding up really (unless it's way too big) but I can feel it on my shoulder blades getting lift instead of anchoring.

Whereas if we can get the band to stay put we can contain the fluff and actually have some downforce in the back providing lifting tension in the front. I really like v backs because they seem to help with this problem on me.

    • 1

cupandahalf Yes! Finally, it's in words! I'm super compressible. Bands, when too large, almost never look like they're riding up as bad as they feel unless it's incredibly bad. I too can feel them near my shoulder blades. For me, because I have medium size breasts, a slightly loose band is more annoying then ill supportive. The bras with the tighter bands simply disappear when I wear them whereas I'm always aware of a bra with a looser band.

      Back twins!

I didn't love to fairytale either. On my bra (65E) the depth was 9 inches, so it was too big. I had to adjust the straps a lot to get no gaping, so it ended up irritating my armpits.
Also I don't like how it looks so pointy on the side view. My other PL which I LOVE, is very rounded. The cut of the fairytale reminds me of the 3D.

But yours looks cute on you. :)

I am so sorry to hear you were given such insensitive feedback. Sending you a PM that you might find informative.

My impression of your fit is that you have either a straight, or A shaped ribcage meaning you really do get ride-up fairly easily (I am the opposite with my ribs forming a proportionally very wide, squat V shape, big on top and tapering small below, so something has to be huge to really ride up--in fact I have more difficulty with the fact that bras ride down quite easily). The only real problem I see that could possibly be attributed to your band sizing is the strap placement because your shoulders are so very, very petite. But the side view of this and many other EM bras shows no wire distortion at all, with the outer wire end remaining really nice and far forward in fact, so I think it's reasonable to assume that the bra isn't being pulled supertight east-west and the strap positioning would NOT be greatly improved by a looser band.

In short while I am often a huge proponent of sizing up to see if a larger band stays put with fewer fit issues, in this case I just see no evidence that wearing 65s instead of 70s is causing fit problems.

wendybien Thank you for your comment! That is the kind of constructive criticism I like to hear after I post my reviews. :)

I'm only 4'8" so I personally know that the problem I have with the straps is on me, not because of the band size I'm wearing. I do notice some wire pulling on my SM bras (like when I put them on first they're a little too narrow but then I swoop and scoop and it's perfect) but nothing too severe.

    • 1

I have to agree with wendybien -- none of your bras actually show any sign of being too tight on you. Those other users had a very set image in their head of what a 30" ribcage looked like, and they projected that onto you. They should be ashamed. :(

Also, your blog reviews are really thoughtful and high-quality, so I for one am extra grateful that you've come back to share more of them with BTB despite that reception!

rainbrasspetals Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. I hate to say those remarks got to be but they did which is partly what took me so long to review this.

I do appreciate hearing how useful my reviews are and it helps me remember that that's why I'm doing this. I want my reviews to be as helpful and truthful as I can so I'm glad to hear I'm doing it right! I hope to be posting more frequently now. :)
