  1. Sufi Dance Plunge Bra (L22-0012)

    Didn't fit

I'm totally blanking on how long I have had this bra. It's older than my Freya Deco, but much more recent than my Freya Pollyanna. I'm going to say maybe 3-5 years? It's still in pretty good shape because I don't wear it that often. At this point, I mostly wear it when I wear a certain top that has really open and stretchy shoulders....it's kind of a bohemian top. It's this dusty rose colour that matches so well with the pinks in the print of this bra. It's the kind of bra with strap details you are ok with showing...you WANT a bit of strap to show. ... I included a pic of me in the top as I think it is a magical combination...bohemian style top and matching bohemian print (bra) strap. What does everyone else think?

Compared with my Deco, it's not quite as boob armour as that one, but it's a heavier molded style compared to other bras (I think Cleo Koko was less stiff and my So Free Lightly Lined Balconette from La Senza is barely stiff at all by comparison).

Now, my shape tends to be shortish narrow roots, pendulous soft tissue that is pretty malleable, even to FOB, and center full. I think I might be close set as well but I'm not sure. This is possibly why I'm spilling over a little near the gore of this bra. I say gore, but I mean "gore" because there practically isn't one on this bra. It's nearly nonexistent though there is a lovely velvety bow marking the tiny bit of fabric holding the cups together. Lol.

The cup width of this one seems to be ok, though I have yet to measure it up yet. I'll get to that later. The band feels nice and firm and not overly stretchy. Reminds me of my Deco, actually, with the band. Same with the straps...not too stretchy. The straps are more like my Lepel Lilly but not as stretchy. The height under my arms is jusssst on the verge of being too high and cutting into my armpits, but doesn't.

Being that I'm pendulous, I tend to need depth (but not Envy/Jasmine depth...that's too much, for some reason) and I have been told that this bra is too shallow for me by someone who knows more than I do. I'm not a bra expert by any means at this point, but I'm learning, however, I'm really not sure that it is too shallow. When I feel inside the cup, I can feel my tissue flush with the wire, and if I push the material (thick as it is) towards my skin, I'm not feeling empty space. I feel like my tissue is fitting the wire and the wire is at my imf. I do get a tiny bit of slipping down as the day goes by, but pretty much every bra I own does that, including my depth at the wire friendly CK Ellace. So, I don't personally think that it's too shallow. A teensy bit, maybe, but a lot? I don't think so. Maybe I'm missing something though.

Cups, as I said above, spill a bit on the lower portion of the cups, more towards the center where the gore isn't there and I think that it's not a size issue, but a shape issue...that my center fullness has nothing to keep it in check. Nevertheless, it doesn't show under clothing, especially my special top as it's loose and flowy, and that's why I opted to lie to the fit and say that I don't have quadding, even though I sort of do. If I do a stronger swoop and scoop, I do have more quadding though (will go back and add pic). But this bra is a 32D, and I'm actually closer to 30E/F/FF or 32DD/E and equivalent sister sizes in a 28 band if it's really big and stretchy (now) so that is to be expected. AND like all of the older bras that I own, I never swooped and scooped when trying on before buying and was never told by the sales associate to do so even at the specialist boutique...I only leaned forward and jiggled into the cups (which is, admittedly, more than many people do).

One of the things that I really love about this bra is the print. It caught my eye right away. I love the flower colours and the grey lace overlay. It's hard to see, but the background is a very dark grey, bordering on soft black. One of the benefits is that it looks great with grey panties, and grey panties are always available, and with the various colours in the print, it's easy to find solid coloured panties to coordinate in pink, orange, and blue if you want a pop of colour...I've got navy on today and it's a good match.

As with all of the molded cup bras I own, I think that I get a nice round shape with this bra. It's not really an everyday bra for me, and the fit is not 100% on me, but it's still got a hook to get to before it is finished. It's a bit on the hot and heavy side, so aside from this shirt and maybe the odd tank, I don't wear it in hot weather as much.

I don't really have anything bad to say about this bra, really. It's not perfect, but I like it, and it's been fine for me over the last few years.

EDIT: After adding the stronger swoop and scoop pic, I've decided to go back and edit the fit to include the quadding so it will say that it doesn't fit. This is partly because, well, it is much more spillage, plus, I think that the fit is inaccurately affecting my reference size, as it is now 30:5 instead of 30:6 prior to this addition, and I'm definitely more of the latter, possibly even 30:7 in some bras.

EDIT OF EDIT: Ok, so it still says 30:5. That's going to change once my 30FF Bardot comes in anyway. I might also add one of my older Fantasie bras which is 32DD and it might bump me up again.

    • Cute bra! And as for the reference size... sometimes it will temporarily change if you enter a bra, but you may notice it go back to your 'old' reference size. Try logging in and out, that may re-set it too?

    • Yeah Wilderness1, I am sure it will change with time and bras added. I think that if I add more larger cup bras back in, it will go up. So even though my Fantasie Rimini is over 10 years old, I might add it just to try to bump up the average.

    • what I mean though, is that sometimes it will temporarily change but revert back without adding any more bras. I deleted one the other day and it changed my reference size from 30:8 to 30:7, but by the next day it was back to 30:8 without any further changes made on my part.

    • 1

I see. Interesting. I've removed the two Freyas as I shipped them back on Thursday. :( I don't know if those were still in my list if it would have balanced the reference size more or not. I'm not going to worry about it though, because I know I don't have a lot of bras to average right now. I'll leave it for now, but I still might add my Rimini because it's such a beautiful bra and it is one of the first two bras I bought online and figured out I was a 32DD (initially had 32D but had to exchange for DD). So for posterity and nostalgia, I might add it. Thanks again!

      A. You can edit the reference size yourself in the profile.

      B. This bra print is absolutely gorgeous! Who cares if it's not a perfect fit when it's comfy and works great with a shirt you love!

    • Thanks cupandahalf ! How do I edit the reference size? Also, I did a remeasure recently but never got any calculations or recommendations or any confirmation of anything. It was odd. I’d have thought that I would at least be told that I’m still 30F/FF recommendation or something confirming if I was the same or not.

    32G

    Fits

I bought this bra on a whim because I've been through pretty much every brand's padded balconettes (except Polish) with little success. I have high-set breasts and a petite torso, so although I feel that I have average roots on my frame, they get shallow quickly and are functionally short. I have been looking for bras that work well for short roots as that's become the main wildcard for me in getting a decent fit.

I typically wear a UK 30G. This bra comes in 30G, but since Evollove skips 30FF in their size system, a 30G would be the equivalent of 30FF, so too small in the ... cup. I sister-sized up to 32G to possibly get a good fit. The 32G is the right cup volume, but the band is not tight enough. That was predictable, but I was hoping that maybe the band ran small. It seems to run more true to size, so I have to start it on the second or third hook. I am looking at ways to alter the band now before I decide if I'm going to keep it. On the second hook, the gore only soft tacks and comes away when I slouch.

When I ordered online, Evollove's balconettes reminded me a lot of Lepel 's molded balconettes. But this one is padded rather than molded and so gives a better shape because of the four-part construction. The underwires thankfully don't come up too high although the cups are still just a tad tall on the strap side for my short roots. The cup comes up a little higher than my 30G - Freya » Patsy Padded Half Cup Bra (1223) , which gives more top and inner coverage, but it is also slightly shallower towards the middle. My larger side sort of distorts the cup a little because it's a bit tight, but it does that thing that happens to me with Lepel, which is instead of quadboobing, it forces the cup out into a flat shape.

The other issue I'm having which also reminds me of Lepel, is that the straps are too loose and only tighten less than half of the full length. One part is adjustable, and the other part is more of a satin-y fabric. If I can find a cheap "strap saver", I'll keep it, otherwise it has to go back. They don't fall off my shoulders, but I can tell that the straps should be tighter to keep the wires in my IMF and I feel a bit droopy without the option. They also feel like they might stretch out easily and then it'll be worthless. One reason why the underwires aren't stabbing my armpits might be because the bra is sitting a tad low.

As for the material and quality, the construction is very good for the price-point. Nothing scratchy against the skin, which means it's better than Lepel whose bras are crappily made and itchy.

I'm still debating sending this bra back. Yeah it "fits", but the two main fit issues (straps and band) require some kind of tailoring to get right. Lastly, the lace detailing and the slanted horizontal seam on the cup are *very* prominent under a shirt. I'm desperate for new bras, but I don't know how much use I'll get with a bra that shows so strongly through virtually every garment I own.

For a bra that's not really my size, this little adventure has worked out ok.

One more thing to add. I ordered two Evollove bras at the same time, the other being 32G - Evollove » Four Greet Balconette Bra (L23-0032) in a blue/yellow combo. When the both arrived, I loved this one's print much better right away. It's really a very pretty bra.

Edit: Once I started losing weight and became more of a solid 30G instead of edging into 30GG, this bra fit me perfectly in the cup. It became extremely comfortable and I am loving the softness of the outer material and the cushiony padding. The band is still a little big, but I've bought another anyway.

    Didn't fit

I only tried this bra on for a few minutes so might have missed some details about the fit. However, from my quick assessment of this bra the wires were surprisingly narrow. Despite the narrow wires the cups were quite shallow and I would say this fits more like a 30F than the 30FF it is supposed to be equivalent to in UK sizing. There wasn't enough depth at the centre gore for me, nor enough immediate projection at the wire. Also this is one of the first bras I've encountered with wings tall enough under the arms to poke a bit, so if you're high set this probably isn't for you. The band was nice and firm for a 30 though being a longline probably helps with it feeling secure.

I probably would have considered buying this if it came in a cup size up - its a very pretty bra and nice longlines in extended sizing are not all too common.

This bra is soft and beautiful. I could not wait to try it on. In pics it appears kind of East West and pointy. I'll do a more detailed assessment later

I am wide rooted, evenly full, somewhat shallow, with tall roots. The top is open enough for me and does not cut in.

Updated review: it's just a tad big and the cup and band for me. Maybe the band just stretched quickly? I would say it's good for average projection and average top-bottom heaviness.

The cups are not too big, but as with most soft cups, the top is not cut right for my teardrop shape. The cups are a little narrow and deep compared to the molded styles of this brand (which are like a dream for me!). Perhaps if I could get my "true size" of 28E, then the problem would be solved, but alas, they dont make 28s. The bra fit well enough for me to keep. It is very pretty too.

Sooooo... I think this is the best fitting bra I have so far. It's fairly new, and a few days ago I wore it for a couple of hours (just a quick test), but today is the first full day I've had it on. I've noticed a few small issues (I guess my breasts are closer set than I thought - when I'm wearing this, I've noticed the gore at times seems smushed between my boobs), but nothing major that affects how comfortable it is. The wires could be a bit more narrow but they're not as wide as the Fantasie Alex (which was so wide ... it was painful). Not to mention I love the color/pattern, and I have the matching panties too. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I'll be taking pictures and measuring after it's washed, but I really can't overstate how much more comfortable it is than my old 34DD Betsey Johnson or my really old 36D Chantelle.

The gore is fairly narrow - the wires are side by side, and all together the gore is less than an inch wide. The print on this bra is beautiful and the light pink lace matches nicely. It's a really nice quality and the fabric is a bit silky, but very sturdy. The band feels like a good medium between firm and stretchy but is still TTS. It's not as firm as the band on my Parfait Charlotte, but it doesn't stretch nearly as much as a Freya (which I can wear a 34 band in and still feel very comfy). It lifts my breasts nicely and gives a rounded shape with a subtle peak. With the straps adjusted properly, they need to sit just a cm or two further in on my shoulders, but I've found that most bras in my size (that aren't full coverage) sit this way. Keeping them straight and not slightly pulled inward, they still rest on my shoulders without slipping off, but it's a bit too close to the edge for my preference. It makes it feel like they're perpetually slipping down; wearing them like this, all day I kept reaching up to pull the strap back onto my shoulders, only to find that they were still where I put them originally. It may just be something I need to get used to, though, as this is the first really properly fitting bra that I've owned.

This bra is stunning; I have it in the dark blue (and with the matching panties - wow). It gives a nice round shape for me and creates beautiful lift. It fits 90% of the way - I spill out of the cups a bit in the center, and I have breast that pops up over the sides (under my armpits). Depending on where my hormones are, it fits better (97% of the way to perfect). But I am unsure about the long-wear aspect, as I am short-waisted and longline + sitting down = bad news, I think. Wearing it so that it can be admired and then removed might be about all I can manage!

I'm so happy to finally have this bra again! I had it before in a 32F which was too small and ever since I've been searching for a 32G in black. I finally found it online from Kohl's--protip, if you go shopping there for clothes you can get Kohl's cash and use it online for a bra!

It's wider and shallower than the bras I usually wear and distributes the breast tissue differently. It's more minimized (held closer to the chest) than I prefer, but the appearance makes up for that to me. This is the perfect longline for me and since it's padded I don't feel exposed or ... awkward wearing it as part of an outfit, under a sheer top or an open button-down.

However, it's not just uncomfortable, it's painful. I took it off after a few minutes because I was being poked by boning, the side of the cup and the straps were rubbing on me because the cup is too wide, ugh. This bra is SO PRETTY that I WILL wear it out of sheer determination... just not to anything that's very long.

So I wanted this bra sooooo bad but Bendon (their parent company)'s site doesn't ship to US. Finally I saw it on eBay, and it wasn't exactly my ideal size, but it was a sister size so I decided to snag it. Just my luck, right after I finally found it they rereleased it for the new season haha. But the new color is purple and I like the black much better. Putting it on, I think actually the 30 wouldn't have worked, it would have been too tight at the bottom. I can feel the side boning poking me a little bit at the bottom but hopefully it'll ease up a little. I had thought the top of the cup was sheer but it actually has a nude underlay, the whole cup is padded. The detail is really lovely on it. It's not like it does much for me or gives any kind of amazing shape but this is definitely one I'll wear under sheer shirts and stuff.

I really love the colour and look of this bra, and that it's from an Australian brand, but it's just the wrong shape for me. The cup volume is probably perfect but the top is very closed and looks ridiculous cutting into my top heavy breast tissue (it fully encompasses 95% of my boobs, it's just the 5% that tapers up my chest that's being dug into). It makes a very weird angle with my body because of this.
This would work well on someone with more bottom heavy breasts than I!
It's nicely projected from the side and the interior and exterior are both very soft. The foam padding is very lightweight, great for adding shape but not bulk, and hides nipples!
The band is true to size, it's a bit looser than I'd like it and I usually wear loose 30s.

This evollove bra has a lovely soft fabric and a gorgeous blue color. In a 30DD the cups are true to the size and also the band is quite firm. The Ece Queen is available from D-G cup - but be careful! As evollove does not produce a FF cup, the G cup runs 1 cup smaller. Also the cups are more on the flat site with quite wide wires which are really comfortable though.
The bra gives a lifted and a bit rounded shape but it does not bring the bust to the middle (on me).
There are some really nice and cute details, for example the bow ... between the cups or the lace on the front half of the straps and on the bottom of the band underneath the gore.

Overall I really like this bra, as it is really comfortable and has a really lovely design. Also the Brazilian Brief (I ordered a size XS with an unstreched width of 32cm which streches up to 40 cm. The brief in a size L has an unstreched width of 38 cm and streches up to 55cm) is really nice and has a sheer fabric.

  13. Castaspell Longline (350268)

I can't remember where I first saw this bra, maybe on Asos, or perhaps Figleaves where I bought it from, but as soon as I did I thought it was the most "me" design I'd ever seen in lingerie! The stunning purple and "dark fantasy" starry pattern is gorgeous, and in person it doesn't disappoint. The slightly silky material and dark purple lace on the top of each cup stops it from looking too "young" and teenager-y I think, making it just right for someone who wants to add some pattern to their bra-drobe (bra + wardrobe, see what I did there?!).
I love jewel tones and quirky ... patterns and my everyday clothes show this - but oddly my bras are all of the fairly plain and functional variety. I think since being on my fairly new quest for correctly fitting bras, the fit is obviously the most important thing, so I've been trying really hard to ignore gorgeous prints and designs for fear of getting swept away and ending up spending loads of money on items that look beautiful but ultimately don't fit any better than my bras of yonderyear.
So it was with slight trepidation that I ordered this, telling myself I would return it if the fit wasn't perfect and I *wouldn't let myself get drunk on it's gorgeousness, rendering me unable to make a rational fit-based decision*.

Having had no experience of trying @Evollove bras before I was uncertain of how they fit but ordered my fairly usual 30DD. Luckily, it was definitely the right size for me. I have fairly wide root, shallow, full on the bottom boobs and on first try on I thought it fit me fairly well, but not perfectly. The band is medium to slightly looser, and given that it's longline I wanted it to be snug to stop the bottom of the band rolling up. I wore it out for the first time today and started on the middle hooks, which is about right for me to be comfortably snug.
The wires are quite wide, which meant I breathed a sigh of relief as soon as I tried it on, probably similar to Freya half cups. I am ruled out of quite a few brands like @Cleo despite loving some of their bras because they are just designed for much fuller, more projected narrower root boobs.

The cups aren't too deep, which was another relief for me, as this is another typical issue I have with some bras, although the bra does give a slightly pointy look, which I thought I wouldn't like. I originally thought I would wear this under big jumpers now it's so cold, but wore it today with a fairly close-fitting top and it actually gave quite a smooth outline despite it not being a seamfree cup. I realised I quite liked the slightly pointy-ish look too - I realised that actually the band fits very well so the overall feel and look is quite supported so not having a super-round or cleavagey profile doesn't really matter.

The straps are the thinnest of all the bras I own - definitely more akin to the horrendously fitting 34Cs I used to cover my boobs with (I say "cover" as this is all they did, I remember clearly the realisation I had about 6 months ago that they weren't doing anything but hiding my nips and irritating the beejesus out of me with the amount of times I had to readjust everything!) than the Freya bras I tend to wear now. They're also fully adjustable which made me woop for joy!

The longline design is awesome, and the four hooks make it a good length. When sitting down (as I am now!) the bottom of the band at the front does roll up a little, but it seems to stay in place at the sides and back, so doesn't cause any issues.

The matching shorty knickers are quite small fitting - I ordered my usual medium (which in other brands is always very comfy-fitting - ie quite loose) and found them to be snug - put it this way, they're fine as they are but I wouldn't want them ANY smaller! So maybe size up in these.
I would recommend this bra for those with medium to wide roots and fairly shallow to medium projection.

I'm really delighted with this set. As the real truth of the fit is in the wearing, I'm really happy that it didn't cause any discomfort at all today. My initial impression that it wasn't perfect has been proven wrong - it's actually a really excellently fitting bra for me, just slightly different from the moulded bras I'm used to.
The only problem now is I'm lusting after one or two of the other @Evollove designs!

It looks nice enough, and appears to fit me mostly (fits left boob, a bit small for right one) but it's not very comfortable. The straps are too narrow and dig in, and the wires dig into my ribs under my boobs. I can wear it comfortably for several hours, but not for a whole day.

Beautiful looking bra but too small in the cups. The band was quite big for size 32 (Australian 10). It gives horrible east-west look.

This is currently my best fitting bra. I got it on the loosest hook and it is a but tight for me, but I am not used to wearing bands that are supportive (
been wearing 34-36 bands all my life).

Great amount of immediate projection. This works well for my FOB, close set, splayed shape. Maybe cups are slightly too separated but just barely.

    Hasn't set fit

First, the fabrics are really nice! Wings are very soft and smooth, backed with powernet; cups are actually 3-part cups, not moulded; the lace edge at the top of the cups is faced so it doesn't really touch your skin. The bra holds its shape during the day, underwires stayed in place (my boobs usually push everything down, just enough to send me to the restroom occasionally to round everyone back up) -

I did find the band to be quite tight on the new bra, nothing a temporary extender couldn't help. With the substantial fabrics used, I expect it will take a little longer ... for the band to relax.

The lace edge and seams do show under a knit top, but it's not something that bothers me and I didn't think it was too obvious. I also had a little folding on the straps, right at the top of the cup, where the straps are just a little too wide set. I didn't really notice them cutting in, but it could be a problem for someone with narrow shoulders.

I was looking to see what else Evollove had, and discovered that Bendon is not making bras under this label any more. They've moved the Ece Queen and a few of the longline styles to their Lovable brand - sigh. Maybe they'll get back to this kind of style again....

Currently my favorite bra I own, main complaint is lack of stretch, the seam where the bra body meets the band was annoying the *swear* out of me, after several washes it’s better. I am most comfortable with top 1-2 hooks left undone, it’s wearable fully hooked, but still functions properly half hooked....This is a body/rib shape issue, if band where overall larger bra would ride up. Straps are wider set than would be ideal, if my build allowed for the straps to set further out it would give a better shape and fit of cups. Moving the straps in wouldn’t work on this bra (for me) because my soft breasts would become weird and lumpy. The wire fits my imf close to perfection on one side, I like the style of this and will definitely use it as reference for finding my perfect bra.

The lace on this bra lays pretty flat and the color is pretty. It's somewhere between magenta and a true red. I bought this thinking I was really getting an E. I find the cup only slightly small (as I should) and get some quadding. The height is only 5.5" so it seems like it could be good for short roots.

This is a very nice lace bra. The cups are sewn in 3 parts and don't have a lot of stretch to them. It gives me a nicely rounded shape, as opposed to the pointy shape most 3-part bras give me. It fits perfectly on my larger breast, but there's definite wrinkling at the top of my smaller side. That's not unexpected because of the nature on non-stretchy fabric. The straps are only half adjustable, so I can't tighten them anymore to try and lessen the wrinkling.

The gore is pretty narrow. The channels actually overlap a tiny bit at the very top.

I haven't decided if I'm going to keep the bra or not. The wrinkling bothers me, but it still gives nice shape and lift. The wrinkling isn't obvious when wearing clothes.
