I wear this bra with an extender on the loosest setting and it's pretty comfortable. Wires are too wide but the gore tacks and it sits very close to my IMF that it is comfortable enough for me. At first the fabric was a bit scratchy but after wearing it (and washing) it softens up quite a bit and it's a good good-enough bra for me with my omega shaped breasts. I did rip a tiny hole in the mesh while trying to adjust it so it's not super durable, but that was after several months of wearing only this bra.

Reminds me of the Elomi Cate. Cup feels too high in the front near the strap so it shows under some tops and just feels too close to my neck. I don't like how high the cup is under my arm when I raise my arms in front of me. The Cafe au Lait is on the darker side. I have some gapping in the upper cups and around the underwire, which is normal for my projected shape. I'm still finding my size in general but the band is definitely too big for me. It felt like there was good lift. I didn't like how the top lace part wasn't stretchy- I like the forgiving nature of stretch lace at the top of the cup. I don't think I would bother trying this one again once I do find my true size.

Fit the best of the three sizes I tried in the Matilda. I am full on bottom and projected. I believe this one did not have enough projection for me, but it was close. There was a tiny bit of wrinkling on the top mesh part of the cup, which is a common problem for me. There was also a little wrinkling in the bottom of the cup, which the Internet leads me to believe is because I need more projection in the shape. I did not find the overall shape very flattering. I know it's unlined and meant to be more natural, but I felt very dowdy and flat-chested when I put a shirt on over it. The appearance of the bra itself is very cute, I loved the color and the little details but the shape is just not right for me.

This is a very comfortable and versatile bra. It makes for a good round shape, although doesn't provide a ton of lift unless you hook the J-hook. The wires are nice and wide and there is a decent amount of projection at the wire but is a bit closed at the top. The mesh design makes this very cool in summer and a relatively smooth look under most clothes.

Didn’t quite fit but showed potential. Might try a smaller band and cup size.

  6. Initially tried a 42GG, but I couldn't quite fill the cups. I tried it in this size, and it feels like I am wearing nothing. It fits like a dream!

Shockingly good fit on first glance. I bought it used on eBay in a fit of desperation after weight gain when I couldn't justify attempting to resize into Comexim. Sure, the wires are wider and the cup covers more of my chest, but it seems to have sufficient immediate projection without cutting in at the center. I'm encouraged enough to try other Elomi styles.
Update 12/2018: Weight loss/shape change & this is way too big in the band now; it was probably a generous 34 anyway.

I ordered the 34G and 34GG in this bra at the same time, hoping one of them would fit, but to no avail. The gore on this bra is very low and the cups too shallow for me. The gore tacks but I am getting "but crack cleavage" above it. Also, the 4 part cups are not deep enough and make my breasts look sort of square. The mesh-like fabric is too rough for my taste and uncomfortable. Between the 34G and the 34GG, I preferred the 34GG since it has 3 hooks per row and thus feels sturdier. The 34G only has 2 hooks per row. I will be returning this bra as it definitely doesn't fit in the cups, even though the band is comfortable.

The Great Amazon Prime Wardrobe Try-On, Pt 2!
My shape: FOB, narrow roots/shoulders, soft tissue, 32G (though I'm thinking maybe more 30G since a lot of these 32 bands are too stretchy for me!)
Fit: This is laughably too big for me. I'm super disappointed, because I have read so many rave reviews for this brand, and this style in particular! If they made smaller cup sizes, I would be in better shape.
Appearance: I love the darker beige color of this bra. The fabric isn't that soft, though; the cups are made of a stiff lace.

    42GG

    Fits

I am a recent bratabase convert and have a lot to learn about bra-fit principles and best practices. So take what I say with a grain of salt. I bought this bra in two sizes, 42GG and 40GG. I first bought the 42GG and thought it was too big (but kept it anyways). So I sized down to a 40GG. This review is for both sizes.

The Matilda is a 4-part (counting the side panel) underwire plunge bra. The side panel and the lower cups are non-stretch fabric and the top cups are non-stretch sheer panel with “stunning beaded lace embroidery”. There is also an “opulent silver ... ring detailing”. Both the “stunning” and “opulent” elements are a tad cheesy so you should not get too excited about them. The non-stretch sheer panels might seem a little flimsy (it is a single layer bra) but it works well for me, but I am not full-on-top and I do not need as much support where the fabric seems flimsy. (Flimsy is not the best word to use, but I am leaving it). This will be a good bra to wear in the summer time. I do think that the non-stretch element is what saves the day.

Both of my Elomi Matilda bras are my favorite bras. Both the 40GG and the 42GG seem to fit, both are comfortable, and both give me the support, lift and shape that I want. This speaks well for the flexibility of the design of this bra because I have two different sizes that are not sister sizes and I am satisfied with both. Two thumbs up.

    • I see you also tried Carmen, and are going to go up in the cup. How do you think this compares to the Carmen? It is currently my favourite bra, in 42G. It fits pretty well, but perhaps needs a bit more projection at the wire for me. I'm thinking of trying it in 42GG as well. Do you think Matilda might work for me too? It is pretty. I tried the pink in store, but they only had 42HH, which was far too big. Any advice is appreciated.

    • Thanks for your comment. I really liked the Carmen! The fabric was nice and the color was really pretty (red poppy). Unfortunately the cup was too small on the side. I read at herroom that you should go up one cup size (i read this after I ordered the vra). The fabric of the carmen seemed alot sturdier then the fabric on the Matilda. Although the Matilda's fabric was non-stretch whiich helped it to be sturdier. I only tried on the carmen but I liked it. Yes, i think you should try the Matilda.

    • Carmen in red poppy is such a lovely colour, isn't it! I've read a few reviews where people didn't like the fabric, saying it was too stiff, scratchy and felt cheap. Personally, I quite liked it. My boobs are quite soft so I need firm, non-stretch fabric at the bottom to keep them contained and locked down. I have really short roots, so the stretch at the top, especially the elastic, suits me fine. Have you seen the new style coming in either December or Jan, the Maya? It looks to be based on Carmen, or possibly Betty/ Anushka. It's white with a pink and green flower print, and pink lace at the top. I think the print is called sweet pea. It is sooo pretty. I can't wait till that one comes out.
Thanks for the advice. I think I will get Matilda, in either black or pink. I hope the Carmen fits you in the next size up if you decide to reorder it. Best of luck.

I just googled the Maya bra and its so pretty! It reminds me of the Valentina that is the only bra I still use that is pre-Bratabase meaning I really like it. I hope you like the Matilda if you get it! Good luck back at you!
