  1. Mariella is based on the popular Morgan cut, by elomi which is a full cup cut with stretch lace on top.
I got the Mariella in the hidden tiger print from AW20 and it was more firmer wires than earlier versions. This bra fits me better than older versions of this bra I tried before.
The bra feels very supportive and comfortable. The stretch lace is soft and adjusts to your shape. There is an elastic at the edge, it doesn't cut in too badly on me, but I see it could be a problem. I also think it could be removed easily. The bra is made of high quality ... woven fabric which feels very soft and silky. The fit is true to size, I get best fit with a 32 band and the JJ cup size. I tried J -cup before but it would cut in. It's a good bra if you are full on top, have a tall and slightly wide root like me. There is some projection to the cups but it's more bottom and side --- so it could be tricky for center-full or very projected boobs. I just get a away with it as the upper cup allows for extra room. This is my favorite bra for PMS as then it fits me best when other bras feel too small. The shape is then very round. On normal days I get a bit dropy shape as I don't fill out the top as much.
Overall I highly recommend this bra. THe quality and support is outstanding and it's worth the money esp. in the size range on of the best options.

Glad it worked out for you. I love the print and wish it came in my size!

    • Yeah - I think I have to update, as I now struggle a bit with this bra. It gives me not the best uplift anymore sadly. I doubt it's already worn out as I only bought it in 2021 but what else would it be? :(

    Fits

I purchased both the 32J - Elomi » Mariella Banded Bra (EL4420) and this bra shortly before the great Brastop escapade, when I was still on the fence about whether I needed to size up from a 32J UK. The 32JJ actually tacks, while the 32J in the peachy tiger colorway digs in a bit on top. It's supportive while still being comfortable--in fact, it's more comfortable than my 32JJ - Panache » Envy Balconnet Bra (7285) right now. If I find another colorway of the Mariella or the Elomi Morgan Banded Bra (4110) (basically the same bra) on sale, I'll probably pick one up in a 32JJ.

    Didn't fit

Check out my review for the 32J - Elomi » Morgan Banded Bra (4110) that I tried in the same size because both bras fit basically the same. They share the same cut and construction. If I knew these bras were similar, I wouldn't have ordered both. Gladly they came with free shipping and return so there is more data to add here on Bratabase. Yay! The Mariella is a very pretty bra. I love the blue color print and I really wished it worked for me.

    Didn't fit

I think I will share this on the front page because Mariella is not one you hear about as much as other Elomis - only one review on Bratabase! - but it's a very nice bra and deserves more attention.

First the basics of its construction: The lower cups are made of a non-stretch silky fabric, while the top cups are of stretch lace with an upper band of elastic that might cut in for FOT ladies. The patterned fabric of the cup continues up the straps and across the bands, where it is lined with a soft elastic fabric to allow stretching. The wires are relatively flexible ... and on the outer side are about 1/2 inch shorter than the fabric of the wings, allowing for some cushion.

The Mariella is supposed to be based on the Elomi Morgan, and it has a lot of similarities. Someone I read, though, compared it to a cross between the Morgan and the Kim, and I'd say that's about spot on. The bottom cup is like Morgan's - deeper and rounder than Kim's - but with more projection than the Morgan. The result is a nice "green" shape - pointier than Morgan, rounder than Kim, and less extreme than Panache Jasmine.

To top it off, Mariella is both pretty and very comfortable.

I may try this in a 34J to compare, but I'm afraid I'll lose my tack. I'm technically a 36 band, but I noticed with other Elomis that the bands are pretty stretchy. I have to wear my 36HH Morgan on the tightest hooks and the band still rides up. I'm using an extender with this Mariella and it seems to be about right.

I think the fit and shape on this one look pretty good compared to what I've tried so far, but I'm still trying to figure this all out. Would a 34J be better? Do the wires look too wide or narrow? Right now I think I'm FOB/even and especially outer full; I think wide roots, but hard to tell. There is no doubt about being super projected and pendulous. Gravity pulls the whole structure down and out, but there is tissue on the top that is very happy to fill out when the bottom is supported. Does anything about how the Mariella fits give clues about my shape to the educated eye?

Are the cups projected enough for me? Heck no! Nothing is. There's a little folding over of the fabric at the wire. But it's not bad.

Is there some wrinkling at the side of the cups, especially on my smaller breast? Of course! But I can live with that.

Does it stay tight in my IMF? Don't be silly, why would it do that? Nothing does. *Every* bra I've tried eventually settles down about an inch or so, all landing in roughly the same place. Straps and band tighter or looser, it doesn't seem to make much difference. I guess that's just my anatomy?

Maybe someday I'll find the true unicorn, but until then, this Mariella seems pretty close.

    • Such a pretty colour and print!!

    • This bra is so pretty! I think with this bra that the wires are soft and more easily stretched to the back than on other Elomi bras (Sachi, Matilda or Panache Jasmine) therefore the wrinkling on the sides. I don't know if it's a sign it's too big or just too wide wires. The more wires are stretched the more shallow a cup can get. Also I noticed that the bands are quite stretchy on this I also would liked a tighter band but that would stretch the wires more.

    • >This bra is so pretty

@alisa, I had been eyeing the Mariella for a while, but it was your review that made me decide to give it a try! I thought it looked so nice on you!

      >The more wires are stretched the more shallow a cup can get.

I hadn't considered this, but it makes sense. I wonder if I wore the extender looser if that would help with filling the bottom of the cups. I'll have to experiment a bit. I have to wear the band of my 36HH Morgan on its tightest hooks, and it still rides up, so I felt I would need to go down to a 34 for better stability.

      >I don't know if it's a sign it's too big or just too wide wires.

I'm not sure either. I do have odd-shaped breast tissue that kind of trails off under my arms, though, and I think it doesn't fit the U-shaped wires. In your experience does wrinkling in the sides of cups affect support? Or is it more cosmetic?

    • I'm pretty sure we're boob twins, so far the best fit I've gotten was in the Panache Clara after I bent the wires. Still didn't have as much projection as I need but it was the best fit I'd had to date. I heard Meredith is similar to Morgan and Mariella so hopefully it works out.

    32J

    Didn't fit

I had read that the Mariella fit very similarly to the Morgan, so I went for a 32J in this bra as well. I found that the fit was identical to my 32J - Elomi » Morgan Banded Bra (4110) , and it feels equally comfortable. The gore doesn't quite tack, but otherwise, this is a perfect fit. The Hidden Tiger colorway is more muted in person than I expected: the background is a dull, dark grey, the embroidery is light orange, and the stretch lace is navy blue.

Edited to add: the Elomi website describes this as denim blue with blush embroidery. I totally expected it to be black and neon orange. The fabric still looks gray to me though.

2nd edit: I finally figured out how to mention my other bras! I used Firefox on an old laptop instead of Chrome on my phone, and it worked like a charm. This review and a bunch of my other ones have been edited to include relevant mentions.

Wrinkles on bottom of cup, slight gaping at top of cup. I like the lace on the top edge; since it's a little stretchy it seemed to 'form' to my shape a little and minimize the gaping a little. This is one of the better fitting bras I've tried, but I think I could do better. This would probably be a good 'daily' bra in that it's a little fun but not super extra sexy. I would probably look for a different print if I felt this was a keeper, since it reminds me a bit too much of a bathing suit.

    Fits

I decided to try Mariella, as it's based on Morgan (I believe), but prettier. Also it was on sale cheaper.

The fit is similar to that of my 38HH Elomi Kim, but the wires are a bit narrower and there's better depth in the bottom. Band is nicely snug, gore tacks, no quadding. As with the Kim (and the 38H Morgan I tried before), there's some vertical in-cup quadding where the side support sling ends, but also like the Kim it's very minor and not visible under clothing.

Looks-wise, it's purple, which is my favorite color. I cannot decide if the pattern on the material is pale pink or beige, but it's pretty neat. I especially like the vertical stripes/ladders on the stretch lace portion - it has a lot of visual interest.

This is currently my best fitting bra.

    • overthestars ,
Please pardon my ignorance, what is a "banded bra" ? First time I come accross the term and would so much like to better understand.

Thaks, have a glorious day !

    • This page will explain better than I can - basically the band runs all the way around the bra, under the cups and gore.

      https://www.bratabase.com/knowledge/types-of-bras/#By-band-type

    • overthestars ,
Thanks, now I'm clear on that terminology. Have a glorious day !

    • Nice review! I have Mariella in 34JJ, and your description seems spot-on. I think of Mariella as the love child of Kim and Morgan, haha.
