    38HH

    Fits

I am finally realizing that a stretch lace upper panel is fairly key to a great fit for me. I have been so pleased with the fit of my 38HH - Panache » Jasmine (6951) (with extender because the style does not come in a 40 band) that I almost resigned myself to exclusively wearing it and its’ similar cuts Panache Envy Balconnet Bra (7285) and Sculptresse Chi-chi Full Cup Bra (7695). It’s—by FAR—my best fitting style, but those darn Panache tall gores are such a buzzkill on my high-root frame. They peek out of even the most modest of v-necks or ... scoops.

All the other Elomi styles I have worn have fit so-so on me. They have a tendency to be a bit too wide in the cup, with extra space in the outer cup and not enough allowance in the middle. Is that what's called an east-west issue?

Anyway, I'm supposed to be discussing the Elomi Jocelyn Plunge Bra (8750) which works well for me because of the stretch lace upper panel. Not as quite perfectly as the Jasmine, but very close. And it's a plunge! Hello v-necks, I've missed you!

The other Elomi styles that have worked or nearly worked for me were Elomi Betty Plunge Bra (8170), Elomi Caitlyn Underwire Side Support (8030), Elomi Energise Uw Sports Bra With J Hook (8041), Elomi Rita Multiway Banded Bra (8011), but in each of those I have spillage at the top-center almost regardless of cup size.

With the Jocelyn (as well as with the Jasmine/Envy) I am able to wear a smaller cup size than I'd otherwise wear in Elomi or Panache, and the lace accommodates my extra fullness. And with the smaller cup size comes narrower/shorter wires which also fit my frame better. A win-win!

I tried the Jocelyn in a 40HH and also a similar cut (Elomi Edie (4000) ) in 40H, and I was quite surprised that the 38HH fit without an extender. It's either very stretchy or I've gone down a band size. Time to remeasure, I suppose https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I find this too tall for myself, but I kept it as it gives me a bit more freedom with my shirt choices than my goddess bras. The band is very stretchy, as I measure 45 inches underbust, but would have been more comfortable in a 40 band in this bra.

    • My Elomi bras are also really stretchy. I like it

  3. Holy stretchy band, Batman.

So, I love the pretty purple color this bra comes in. I love that I can wear my low-cut shirts again. But the very first thing I noticed is how stretchy the band is. I almost feel like I could have gotten away with ordering a 34HH instead of a 36H, it's that's stretchy. This gives me worries about how long the bra will last me, especially as I've been losing weight.

Beyond that: the lace on the cups does a good job at holding things in place, though it bothers me a bit that even that still covers SO MUCH of my breasts. I've ... become used to bras with such high gores that this one felt a bit weird at first, but today it feels fine. The straps are a bit wider than Elomi Caitlyn Underwire Side Support (8030) - one thing I love about that bra is that the straps don't feel like they're going to slide off my shoulders at any second, like my Panaches do (and I have wide shoulders), but Jocelyn's straps still aren't as wide as those bras, so it doesn't bother me much.

It is very, very comfy to wear (partly because of the super-stretchy band I'm sure), though I'm also starting to feel like my roots are probably not as wide as I had initially thought, or possibly that my breasts have changed some since I started wearing properly-fitting bras.

I do like this bra a lot though, and there is little in the way of plunges in this size range, so I'll take it. If the stretchy band causes it to wear out faster...well, I only paid $20 for it, so whatever.

This bra used to be an decent fit, before I gained weight.

I haven't measured it, since this bra is way too old and used. The band stretched out to be at least a 40 these days.

this bra is gray with little rose leaves all over it, not quite hearts but very nearly. I wasn't really wow'd by this bra the same way I have been by my other Elomi's. I'm not sure if that's because it is a GG or because the bra it's self was lightly worn. But it doesn't fit that great. From what I've read different styles in this brand really are different. This bra is pretty but I don't find the straps or cups work as well for me as other bras I've tried in this brand. The comfort and craftsmanship is still there. And based on how my ... other bras in the same brand are holding up, I think the materials here may be at fault. From what I under stand gray dye can actually be detrimental to elastic and shorten it's life. So if I were to guess, I'd say this same bra in the other color may hold up better. The shape is still what we've come to expect from Elomi, though this bra doesn't have the side panels that are found in the Betty, Lexi, and Juliet. Which I advocate for anyone in my size rage, Good bra if you can find it cheep, if you are going to pay full price, better to get one of the three I listed above.

    36E

    Fits

I bought this bra knowing that it was going to have a too big band. Elomi caters to the "plus size" set, and while I'm not plus sized, my narrow shoulders and round rib cage means that their cut works best for me (because they don't assume I have linebacker shoulders like every other brand does). Unfortunately, they don't make my size, so I had to sister size a 36E. (Although I might now be able to wear a 34G since some tissue has migrated back into it's proper place--when I ordered these a year or so ago I fit best into a 34FF.)

As soon as I got ... it (it's the crazy purple and green one), I took in the band to make it fit better. After that I just wore it. A combination of poor posture and super narrow shoulders means that straps often try to saw my arms off; while these do rub if I spend too many hours in front of the computer, they really aren't that bad for the most part. And considering all of the whining I've done on here about that very issue, that's a pretty big deal!

    Likes:
    Low center gore
    Narrow strap placement (seriously, YAY!!)
This is basically the 36E - Elomi » Betty Plunge Bra (8170) , just in different fabric.

What I'd change if I were in charge:
Take the loopy bits off of the straps and elastic (picot edges on anything bug my skin.)
Increase the size range (more women with my shape would benefit from at least being able to see if it worked for them)
Decrease the frame length or make it frameless (the bottom of the band curls up, I HATE that!!)
Even though I'm petite, I'd make the wires about 1/2" longer under the arm only.
Totally petty, but I don't love this colorway. I got it on clearance though, so...

Definitely give this brand/style a try if they have your size! Or, on second thought, since this one seems to be discontinued, don't--or at least not the ones that might fit me! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" />

Love the stretch lace on the top of the bra cup. This is a beautiful, comfortable bra whose straps always feel just a touch too wide for me. Seams are visible through clothing, so this is definitely not an everyday t-shirt bra. Love the colors and pattern!

This bra feels nice to wear. The straps are comfortable and the fabric is not itchy. The shop where I was fitted did not have my fitted size (38) in stock so the woman altered the 40in band. Unfortunately, it seems I take a 36in band and the band on this particular bra is incredibly stretchy so it is a poor fit. This is my least favorite bra of any bras I own. I would not even repurchase it in the correct size.

    38HH

    Didn't fit

First, I should note that I ordered this bra one cup size smaller than I am currently measuring because HH is the largest cup offered in this style. So I do struggle with some quad-boobing, probably due to a combination of the plunge style and the cup size being a bit too small. The band is also quite stretchy, and I found it riding up frequently throughout the day. Unfortunately, since I'm already at the maximum cup size offered, going down a band size would make the cup fit even worse. The straps are also set wider apart than most Elomi bras (probably because it is a plunge ... style), so I struggled with the straps moving throughout the day as well.

It's a gorgeous bra though, and seems similar in construction to the Elomi Valentina. The cups are sturdy and supportive, and the lace along the top of the cups is stretchy and flexes to accommodate the breast tissue. I'm keeping this bra because it is nice to have a plunge style to wear when I need to, and because the quad-boobing is not as pronounced as it is on other bras. I think if I can find a way to hold the straps in position (perhaps with a clip to hold the straps together in the back) and maybe tighten the band a bit (waiting for the Rixie clip to come out in three hooks!), this could actually be a great bra.

I would recommend ordering one band size down in this bra.

Couldn't reccomend this bra enough. Separates boobs like nothing else. Perfect if you're looking for an everyday bra or a bra to wear with low-cut clothing. Extra support on side of cup.

    Runs a bit large (I'm sized at a 38G)
