    Used to fit

I have done it. I have found the holy grail of bras. I think I have found my perfect bra.

So, I have found that it is my shape, rather than my size, that makes it so difficult to find a bra that actually works for me. I am functionally full-on-bottom with narrow, very short roots, and a huge amount of projection. My boobs essentially go straight out from my body on both top and bottom. Finding bras with enough depth but not too much height is a struggle; throwing a need for narrow wires in just makes it worse.

This bra has it ALL. It says it was designed ... for petite women, which I am not, but with my breast shape and the fact that they are so high-set on my chest I ordered it anyway, hoping it'd work. And oh does it work.

The band is fantastically snug - incredibly so for Elomi bras. They tend to run rather loose, to where when (well, if, since I have Etta now) I replace my Caitlyn I plan on getting a 34 band (I also tried on Lexi in a 34GG for kicks and giggles at Nordstrom Rank and despite being way too small in the cup the band was great). This is not loose at all and is much more true to size; I measured the band at 36.5" while stretched. Awesome.

It also has gloriously narrow wires. My other Elomis, much as I love them, have wires that are 7" or more. My EM experiments have led me to find that wires in the 6.3-6.5" width work best for me. This bra falls right in that range. Yes!

The cup has just enough height where I don't have gaping even where the cup meets the strap - something I've been resigned to expect from any unlined bra I try. The wings and gore are both very low for Elomi and, well, most bras in this size. The underwire channels are lined in a nice soft fleece, which makes them extremely comfortable against my chest, and the straps are also slightly fleecy.

I love the bright cheery pink color, and the sunflower embroidery is adorable. It'll probably show through on a thin shirt, but who cares? Not me. It's pretty! I also like the matching bows on the gore and straps, and how the gore isn't full fabric all the way up but rather a keyhole. Very nice.

The only real quibbles I have are the width of the gore - it's a bit too wide for my breasts, which are happier in narrow gores, but it's not a dealbreaker by any means. The fabric is a bit stiff - it reminds me of the material that Caitlyn is made of, but stiffer and less satiny. Still, I'm sure it'll soften up once I wash it; I can't remember if my Caitlyn was stiffer at first or not.

This bra basically takes all of the usual stuff about Elomi - wide wires, loose bands, tall sides, etc. - and throws it out the window. And it's fantastic. I'm absolutely going to be recommending it to everyone in this bra's size range that needs narrower wires but doesn't necessarily want the hassle of trying Polish bras.

    • Thats great! My first bra from a real fitter was an Elomi (in a 34GG), but I'm really a 32J, so they're out for me.

    • Yeah, they start at 34 bands, which can suck for someone in your size range, because they really are such comfy and great bras.

    • 1

I'd planned this to be the first bra I buy once I get my finances settled, but you just made me that much more excited!

    Fits

HAPPY DANCE!!! Thank you overthestars for the recommendation.

    PROs -
    * It actually fits and is quite comfortable
    * My breasts are supported by the band and wires rather than being held up by the straps.
    * My two friends feel completely supported and stay put without either feeling constrained or bouncing around.
    * The cup shape and placement mimics my natural shape and looks great under a shirt.
    * It's not only functional. I think it's sexy.
    * The price was quite reasonable for such a well fitting foundation garment. ($58.00 via Amazon Prime)

    CONs -
    * Limited selection in a 38G. I wish it were available in more color options.
    * (UPDATED) The little decorative loops at the base of the gore were scratchy. I carefully cut them off. Problem solved.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the look at fit of this bra. I may order a second one in black.

Yay! I'm glad you like it, Etta's one of my favorite bras as well :D

I did find after a while that the cute little decorative loops at the bottom of the gore can get very scratchy, so I cut them off. And yes, definitely needs more color options!

    • 1

Support and no bouncing: fantastic! You look like you are smiling in these photos: happy breasts :-) :-) Looks beautiful on you!

    • Okay, this is funny. I thought the little loops were scratchy too. I was sitting down with my delicate little fine pointed swan scissors to cut them off when I read your reply. I agree, they were itchy.

    Hasn't set fit

This isn't an exceptionally pretty bra, especially in nude, but it's full coverage, unbanded and durable. It has a J-hook which is really convenient for when the bra starts to stretch (after 2 years) and you want more support or for when you need a butterfly back or v-neck neckline. On me, the gore doesn't tack completely when I'm using the J-hook but I don't notice it.

Very comfortable, I sometimes forget I'm wearing anything.

If you're a 38 G or higher, with full breasts, this is the bra for you.

    Fits

This bra is excellent for petite/short ladies!

It's softer then I initially expected based on other reviews.

The wires are narrow and don't come up too high in the arm pits

The band feels very true to size

The bra feels like air. I love that it's bandless! More companies need to make Bandless options for those of us that need them! It's nice not to have a stupid band rolling under.

The colour is meh. But alas! It fits so who cares?! Not this girl lol

I do think I might need a cup size up as I'm between GG and H with elomi. There's not massive spillage anywhere just some loose skin in the top of the cup

I would say this is a great option for this cup size! It handles these pendulous....super soft.....post 4+ years of lactating breasts brilliantly.

      Great news!

    • 2

It's great for short ladies, you say?

    • 1

It's actually marketed for petites! Says it right in the description which is why I had to try it!

I might order the H and see if it eliminates the top tissue minor spill. It's very minor. Lol the next size up might gape.

Give it a try! I was pleasantly surprised.

    • 2

I heard short and came running, lol. How's the cup shape?

    • 1

      I like the shape :-)

I will take side shots and add them.

Its by far the comfiest fit under the breasts and armpits on this short torso lol

    • I'm glad you found one that works for you.

I'm wearing a recently purchased elomi Etta in 38HH right now. For months I've been searching for a bra that fits and this is the closest that I've come to getting the fit right.

I got it partly because it's supposed to be for petite frames. I'm not petite (5' 4-1/2") but have been having problems with the sides being too tall for me on other bras that I tried.

For me, the wires are so high on my sides that they poke my fatty tissue and the wires are a hair too wide but not as bad as the elomi Rita. I was surprised by how tall they are. But still, it's the closest bra that I've found to fitting me.

I like the construction. It seems very well made and durable. I have to wear the 38HH on the middle hooks to be properly snug. I also bought it in sister size 36J and that band is a bit too tight but the cups fit except for the wire problem.

I guess my point is that while it's marketed for petite frames, it may not work for petite or even non-petite ladies. I guess my breasts must be high set or something. I don't know. It's still a very nice bra.

    • 1

Ooh, I was a bit interested in this one..being a bit vertically challenged myself ;). But wondered how wide the wires were, but you mentioned narrow..DO you think it runs small, average or large cupwise?(Not exactly sure on my size in elomis.

    • 1

I think if I was full on top...I'd have needed my normal H cup size. The GG fits me in the cups aside from a teeny bit of loose skin spill in the top of the cups. I'm going to grab the H cup as well for comparison. Compared to the Elomi Caitlyn I have the wires are much narrower and the wings lower. I think the Bandless aspect of the bra makes a HUGE difference with the fit if you are short/petite or struggle with rolling bands under your breasts. There is no stretch in these cups at all (but not uncomfy) I know some ladies that are full on top rely on stretch with certain styles/sizes.

If I can find what my curious 4 year old did with my tape I will tag you with the measurement NaturallySo and dani

    • Thanks EllieRoo . I'm a bit more even fullness than anything. Not sure if I'd need G or GG(36 band- unless super stretchy). So am curious to see the measurements.

  5. I initially thought this bra fit, but I have since learned how to properly understand what fit looks like and know it is way too big! This is a great example of what a too-big bra looks like on large breasts. Notice the following in my pics:

    1. Wrinkling in underarm area
    2. Unsupported, unrounded shape in cups
    3. Wrinkling under cup
    4. Wires lower than breast root

If your bras are fitting you like this, especially under the cup, your cup size is too large. Keep sizing down until the wire is fitting your roots perfectly, even if you start to get quadding as you go down. It feels counterintuitive, I know, but the quadding will often go away when you hit exactly the right size!

  6. Best Elomi bra for narrow breast roots, one of the few bras I own where the straps won't fall off my narrow shoulders. The band is not as long or stretch as much as other Elomi 40 bands I own. The shape is a rather unfortunate pointy 1940s look. The seams are thick and the horizontal seam will show under most clothes. The embroidery on the transparent portion of the cup can be itchy. There's a J hook for racerback.

This bra has atypical Elomi wires that do not stretch back and mold to the body. The wires are instead firm and quite narrow for Elomi, making them similar to Panache and Curvy Kate. The center gore is fairly low as well.

  7. I already had this bra in a nude colour, and now I have it in black as it is the only bra I have found yet that works for me. It is a bit tight on the band at first, but after a few wears and wash it fits great.

Thanks for the comment about the band loosening after a few wears & washes. I find the 36" too tight and the 38" too loose. I'm keeping both sizes to try with an extender (36") and tighter hooks (38") to see which one works better over time. From your comment, looks like it will be the 36". Thanks.

    Didn't fit

The cups are a four-part construction with a double layer on the side-support section. The top panel is non-stretch mesh with an elastic band top edging. Straps are fully adjustable and have a built-in J -hook. The Etta is bandless, but I didn't notice any difference in comfort from this construction. For supposedly being designed for short women, the cups are pretty tall. I didn't care for cone shape or the east-west separation it gave.

    Didn't fit

This is my fourth attempt at making Etta fit, and I'm almost there. The band is comfortable on the first set of hooks. The gore mainly tacks but twists towards my left (bigger) breast as the day goes by (it's not painful). The underwires are wider than my IMF, reaching to the middle of my underarms, but they don't hurt. The bottom of the cups is well filled and doesn't give me the weird square shape I often get. There is slight wrinkling at the top of the cups. Overall this bra is not perfect but at least it's wearable.

    • I seem to have the same problems in bras that you do, but I think 1 cup size bigger on average. I read your other reviews hoping you found something that fit better, since I am searching for bras again. Elomi Etta is the best fitting one I have found so far in 36GG, but I have the same problem with the wrinkling/extra space on top, and wires being too wide. I'm just happy to find something where the wires aren't too long and end up poking me under the arms. Sadly they discontinued it, and I haven't tried Lydia, which is supposed to be based on Etta.

    Didn't fit

I bought this 36G Elomi Etta to see if it fit better than the 36GG I already own since the top of the cups wrinkle quite a bit in the 36GG. I must say the 36G is a lot better in that regard as there is almost no wrinkling at the top of the cups. The band is comfortable and the bottom of the cups is well filled. However, the gore doesn't quite tack 100% (seems to be missing about 1/4") and turns left towards my bigger breast. Other than that, this bra is bandless, which is something I like since the bands on my banded Elomi bras tend to turn under themselves and hurt. (I think this is due to the cups not being deep enough and my breasts pressing down and forwards on the cups).
