  1. Curves Anderson Floral 3/4 Cup Padded Underwire Bra (D01488M)

    38DD

    Didn't fit

I have those short short short, side heavy and functionally full all over, extra high set, tall root troubles. Anderson doesn't cut in on me which is an achievement, however this could be a huge sign of problematic fit for upper full shapes as I seem to do well with cups that tilt forward strongly from the fullest point up to the top of cup, and this could likely gape on others? I absolutely cannot tell if the far set projection presentation I have in this bra is a symptom of it being an east-west issue or high set/tall root boob problems, and this molded cup runs ... disappointingly tall, shallow and wide as they all typically do. I'd say this is more of a spacer foam than the stiff cheap kind commonly found in retail chains, so there's some give in the cups but it's not much to write home about. There is a vaguely conical shaping in the middle of the cups which is also pretty run of the mill, although this seems to be less vintage bullet bra than just slightly more projected looking in the apex alone. The upper cup might just have an extra wide load spacing for big roots? Either way the cup shape lends itself to corralling breast tissue into a cleavage puddle presentation for better or worse, a little light herding the girls away from the sides to the front but no great shakes once they're there.

Which I honestly don't mind because in the face on constant swelling and misery, general comfort is a rare prize not to be scoffed at. Anderson delivers on that front.

This model is a little lighter weight and better suited to warm weather yet appears to be fairly sturdy, and while it's covered in sleek fabrics that don't look like they'd last through a lot of wear, the build feels reliably workhorse without being brickhouse or fighting against my frame. Incredibly it hides stiff nipples quite well for being sub-Deco levels of foam thickness. The underwire is plunge and somewhat set on it's side, a much finer gauge than most brands in this size so maybe they get stronk in larger cup sizes? Anderson's gore is sufficiently small, nothing amazing however. Gore both sits on my inner breasts and allows overflow although this is neither fugly nor painful as with most bras. Meaning there's enough room in the middle of the cup to the center which I'm not used to having! The wing and rest of the band are about the same height so there's more support than most bras in this size range. There's also the usual stupid boning in the side of the band back behind the cups, however they're not jabby. Seems to be sewn into a solid fabric reinforced encasement seam, therefore the boning doesn't bend and shank as they often do in other bras which sew them into flimsy stretchy mesh seam that bubbles and bends. The elastics feel higher quality than I've experienced in freya and panache, the cup to strap proportion allows for a smaller shoulder and is similar construction and quality to swimwear straps. The rise from the side to top of cup is more diagonal that vertical which is nice given my breast extends directly outward from my armpit region, this can be a truly aggravating zone to contend with extra wide set straps or having the strap placed right above the outer wire where it joyfully saws me to hell and gone in most (non prima donna) balconettes. It could certainly stand to be a little lower but it's pretty serviceable for the complicated fit issues I'm rocking out here.

Pros: THREE HOOKS, gods yes fk finally. Utter lack of wires digging in the front or sides, gorgeous low cut plunge neckline, super soft as per extra sensitive skin, sleek and seamless perfect for layering, straps are very comfy placement and materials, cups sturdy yet allow for a bit of fluctuation, nice classy styling.

    Cons!
-Nobody likes rough lace on a cup along the side where our arms gets chaffed or clothing catches on it. Stop it bra makers, this is stupid.
-This is the ONLY bra I've ever encountered where the straps are a billion miles too long. I have notoriously massive shoulders and have them drawn down to the smallest possible length, grabbed my kid's strap clamps to racerback them into a manageable shortness, and will need to have them shortened and sewn to not stretch at all whatsoever. What in the what, WHY???
-THE BAND RUNS IDIOT SHORT! Yes, I took the 28" band down to 23" resting because 27" stretched is my personal taste but this style runs SHORT, and I mean beyond Ewa Michalak or Tutti Rouge levels of short, and should be cautiously considered to size up a back or 2 in lower band sizes for anyone who doesn't also need a very short band.
-Honestly 7.3" cup height in this size is hardly a 3/4 sized cup and frankly I'm tired of pretending it might be.

The underwires reach a good INCH above the actual fabric gore portion on this bra. Despite this, I didn't find it too terribly uncomfortable; just very unusual. Having tried very few unlined bras, it's super comfortable and I'm very happy with how it sits. The cup is the only thing that truly doesn't fit me, it wrinkles at the top. I am usually a 34DD in everything, so it may be due to it being a 36D -- my "sister size" has never really played nice with me. This bra is also super adorable, I love the cross-laced gore detailing. I will probably make a few alterations to the bra and wear it, it'd be a shame not to.

I bought this bikini bra on the 2017's summer for an affodable price (between 12 or 15€).
The straps are fully adjustable. The decorative bow at the center gore doesn't stay put in its bow form, so you need to re-do it from time to time. The cups are lined but, according to me, not padded as I could squizz in my hands the cups fabric with no damage done to the bra. The bra closes with the regular bikini top's one plastic claps.

The store wasn't carrying my size at this period so I bought this bra knowing well that the bra was one cup too small & 2 band's sizes too big for me. Neverthless this bra supports me enough & the quality was good in comparison to its price. I wore it extensively during five summers as my only swimming top & the bra shows a little of thinning of the fabrics around the band.

Not a great fit for me but the quality seems fine and I think it looks nice. My sensitive skin doesn’t like this lace though but I have an issue with most lace.

The model runs small, which is why I picked the next cup size. The fabric feels very smooth on the outside. The front of the bra is made to look like a bustier: there is a tall gore that lies flat, but the outer layer of the bra is one piece (so there is some uniboob effect which I don't mind). The straps are completely removable and are long enough to be crossed in the back. The top of the cups has a strip of silicon to keep the bra up when strapless. The bra comes with a set of transparent replacement straps included.

This is a beautiful bra! The light blue fabric has a subtle sheen to it, probably why it is called the "shimmer." The fabric is soft and flexible and the lace upper is stretchy. The cup provides a nice rounded shape, which isn't the norm for my full on bottom breasts and tall, sloping roots (not quite ski slope, but close). The gore tacks well and is narrow enough to fit between my breasts without sitting on tissue (as far as I can tell). The elastic along the lace doesn't cut in at all, which is a common problem I have. The straps are ever so slightly too far to the sides, so the part between the strap and the top of the outer wire cuts in a bit at my armpit/front of chest/pectoral muscle. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with this bra!

This bra fits my immediate projection and tall, shallow/sloping roots well. There's some very mild quad boobing/cutting in at the top and the gore floats a bit. There was a mix up with my birth control prescription, so my breasts are uncharacteristically swollen/enlarged (they're usually wonderfully consistent). I'm pretty confident these issues will go away as soon as my hormones even out.

Compared to other Dorina bras I've tried, the band feels tighter. The seams provide more shape/support than the Lila and the cups are situated on the front of the chest, which provides a great fit for my narrow breasts.

After spending the day in this bra, I didn't have to adjust like at all. And no shifting. The wires are a bit too wide and it chafes against my dominant arm/chest/pec area. The 32DD of this bra fits better.

This is my best fitting bra. The gore is a tiny bit wide for me, and the wires are a bit too wide on the outside, but I can actually sit up straight and I have so much less pain than I did in my old bras (Cleo junas). They accommodate my need for projection at the wire and my tall, sloping roots aren't cut into or left with cup wrinkling.

The fabric isn't super soft, but may soften up with several washes. The fabric is very pretty. I don't know what info to include as much of how I view the bra has to do with how well it fits me specifically. Please feel free to message if anyone has questions or would like me to add any specific info.

An interesting one in the series of "oldies but still wearable". With a history.

Think of it, how many bras were purchased at the canteen of a car factory ? Well, this ons is.

I had business at Opel, quite a huge plant indeed with plenty of female workforce. Those factories are big to the point of selling essential commodities at would be mini-markets by their canteens. Even better, at sponsored by the company prices ! Wow. Obviously could not miss the occasion, never mind the size. A bra at the cost of a soda or so.

Back then, it was a surprisingly good fit. Now quite overwhelmed. Actually a pretty ... stretchy low range support bra with a very high tolerance to band sizing mishaps.

Which it achieves by exemplary well mastered light weight yet quite deep wings that never collapse, no matter the abuse. My guess is that the junction between cups and wings and their curvature is where the magic happens. The U back does what it says.

No matter how loose or tight, it wil not collapse even if it rides a bit up when abused.

A delight to wear even now where it's blatantly too small for what I have. Very appropriate in sweaty hot days and workspaces. Handwashes and dries in a heartbeat.

Straps are a bit on the stretchy side and need tension to cope sith bouncing. Cups on the pointy side, I guess it needs more in the upper portion of breasts.

Proved very durable, still responsiive and fresh as back then, quite a handful of years ago.

Overll a great never aging classic, here it's actual version:

A nice lightweight bra with a freindly feeling, even if I should't, still like to be inside on easy going weekends like today.

      What a fun bra backstory!

    • 1

And here I was thinking how nice it is that in Quebec we can buy wine at the depanneur (convenience/ corner store) and there you are buying beautiful classic bras in factory convenience shops. Lol...

    • 1

Oh Yes AprilGoulding , the famous Canadian "depanneurs", heard many times of, albeit never been there to experience the ambiance.

In Germany industrial areas never sleep. No weekend, no holiday, just 3 x 8 hours shifts. Surrounded by gas stations, in fact mini-malls open round the clock. Eerie !

At any time one can order breakfast, dinner, souper.

Those factories are like battleships. Quite autonomous cities where time has a different meaning.

A copious 3 course meal + non alcohol (alcohol = no no) beverage at the canteen would cost 4 to 5 dollars, big sodas were 20 cents, coffee machines poured capuccinos for 5 or so cents.

I got this bra in a plain plastic pouch for about 3 bucks or so, what you'll pay for a soda in a restaurant outside of the plant. Crazy !

All was made so the workers could give their best. No-nonsenscal, down to earth "we appreciate your contribution" feeling.

Right, this bra, despite the years, means a lot to me. How many workers wore this model ? Hard to tell but guess given it's quality and price, guess, many.

Took a gamble on zulily. When I first tried it on, I didn't think it fit. Now that I've adjusted the straps and scooped properly, I think it fits pretty well. The lace is very pretty and it is a very comfortable fit. No poking, digging or riding up.

I like the shape of the cups and it seems to give a nice round look. The quality seems quite nice.

Best fit on the tightest hooks. A band size smaller would probably be a slightly better fit. I'd probably prefer anything with a slightly higher gore in front, but I don't think I'll spill out of it. There is some slight space in the top of the cups near the straps due to my short roots.

Unfortunatelly, this is not my right size. But because of this, I was able to buy better http://www.bratabase.com/browse/dorina/fiji-curves-d17027a/36D/

The bra is really comfortable, although the padding is a little bit too much for me (if you wanna swim, it will fill up with water), the band was too tight for me, but I'm more on the 34-ish side.
The print is gorgeous, vibrant, I really love it.

Downside was the briefs, there were too stiff and too tight for me. I've got big butt and thick thighs and there was no space for it, it was cutting in the flash.
