Instant comfort when I put this bra on. Got a great deal on it from Brastop.com. It will definitely be a go to bra in my bra drawer. It is hard to find a 40 in Curvy Kate so I was happy to find this one and on sale too! The black lace over a champagne color is very pretty and the materials of the bra are very soft. I was imagining a padded bra but this one is not padded but rather lined. I like it!
Ordered this set (bra and short) when amazon had it marked down.
From my review of the 34G: Firstly, this looks like a moulded bra but its actually a 3 part cup. The lace obscures the seams. Didn't matter to me, but it's more likely to fit more people since its not actually moulded. Band is firm, gore low... top edge seems likely to curl outward Material feels like swim suit material on the cups. The band is standard power mesh.
Added for the 32H: Wires are a smudge narrower on this size. The lace on the cups extends down to the band, which has a tendency to curl on ...me (all bras not just this one) making it a little itchy. If I could get the band to curl outward instead of inward (my bras seem to choose their curl direction randomly) it would be less uncomfortable. Keep this in mind if your bands curl too. The weird armpit looseness/gape is gone in this size. Possible I just needed another size or that it was slightly defective (poor tension when sewn maybe)
Beautiful bra and I love the poppy color but maybe CK will bring it out in pastels/nudes as an alternative to the freya deco (not seamless but similar shape) Edit: A/W15 has a champagne/black one coming out. Unfortunately it's black lace over champagne fabric, so it won't work under light shirts. Still pretty!
SHORTS: ordered the sz 14/large like I usually do. Fits nice. Very Slightly roomier than Cleo 14 briefs but it's a different material
Temptress, you were named well. I couldn't resist this bra so I put it on my credit card ($72 ouch!) with the intent to nail down size and reorder cheaper somewhere else.
Firstly, this looks like a moulded bra but its actually a 3 part cup. The lace obscures the seams. Didn't matter to me, but it's more likely to fit more people since its not actually moulded. Band is firm, gore low, wires seem less narrow than other recent curvy kates. It might be because of the plunge but they seem more true to old CK wire sizing. Cups didn't collapse at the bottom for the ...5 minutes I had it on. No quad but the top edge seems likely to curl outward Material feels like swim suit material on the cups. The band is standard power mesh. The cup edge between the strap and the wire at my arm flares out. It could be that the cup is just too wide, but it feels like the elastic there isn't pulling it in like it should. The band right at that underarm wire tip is also acting funny. It's loose for about 1" after the wire, but the rest of the band is firm.
Curvy Kate makes nice padded bras that fit my close together boobs. This one has great narrow and low (plunge) separation. However, this 30E is about a half size too small in the band and cups. It is also a bit pointier in the cups than I prefer. Due to the thick padding, I'm wondering if the tips of the cups are empty from the pointiness! Also, these straps don't adjust long enough (by a little). If you have problems with straps, watch out. I should probably just go back to the Curvy Kate Daily Boost, as that one didn't have the pointy shape or slightly undersized 30E.
What a surprising bra - it's many things that I thought wouldn't work for me - some aesthetic (read: RED!), others more practical - it has very short wires which are usually a no-no for me and mean I spill out of the sides. I usually hunt for the polar opposite as I thought I needed long wires for my under-arm tissue. Weirdly I don't seem to get side-spill with this and it's remarkably comfy. It's the first Curvy Kate bra I've tried in a long time and the only one I've ever found that works for me - I wanted the Starlet so desperately ...(and so much so that I first tried it a year or two ago, only to re-order recently after some changes in my boobs in the hope it would work now, but still to no avail). This is for full on the bottom folks definitely - it's fairly closed at the top despite having quite a bit of projection and a reasonably deep apex that initially I wasn't sure about. However as it is so closed on the top my breast is somewhat redistributed to fill the space - and give me a pretty awesome cleavage (which only ever happens with Deco). I've warmed to the colour and now really like it, the design is stunning. It has the appearance of a moulded bra but is actually not - it has some light padding/shaping though so kind of functions as one in my bradrobe. Only thing I'd change would be to have a wider band - this one is comfortable and a standard 30 but I'd always favour three hooks over two....straps are great, comfortable and a good thickness. A suprisingly awesome bra....and just heard it's coming out in Champagne/black colourway so will prob purchase it in this colourway too... Read more 200 more words
This is a beautiful bra - the ouerror layer gives the impression ofrom a moulded cup, but from the inner layer you can see that has a proper three-part construction. It's very flattering and supportive, but enhances and projects the breasystem quite a lot, so not ideal when you need to minimise.
Like many Curvy Kate bras, I really wanted to like this as it's a gorgeous colour and very pretty, but the fit was just ... not quite right. Cups were a bit too projected for my shallow/wide roots, and also mysteriously pointy. Didn't keep.
Love how pretty this bra is, but it is either too big or has too much projection in the apex of the cups. I may post a fit help before i return it. Band is a tad loose, fits best on middle or tightest hooks, and cups feel a tad too far apart.
