Love this bra - a bit sexier than some other D+ styles and very comfortable, but I definitely needed to go down to a DD. Sadly, the padded balconette style doesn't work well for me and the top of the bra doesn't sit flush with my boobs (which are fuller at the sides, not the top). I had a bit of luck by shortening the straps loads, but even even then the cups look a bit big even if there doesn't feel like loads of excess room.

The band looks small but actually has loads of stretch - the 34 was plenty big enough and felt very comfy.

Worth mentioning the frilled shorts that match this are beautiful - the set's got a bit of a burlesque feel and is really flattering on an hourglass figure.

Comes up a little small in the cup, the band is fairly true to size with quite a lot of give over time. The fit is nice and natural, though has a slight tendency towards 'pointy boob' - this isn't a big issue for me because of my body shape but on bigger busts it may be worth considering.

The central gore begins to dig in a little bit after a full day's wear, but I've yet to find many bras that don't give me some discomfort here at some point. It was minimal, and overall the fit was very good.

Fabric is comfy and the design is pretty for day without being too OTT. It has quite a textured finish though, so not great under fitted tops.

Finally got my hands on one of these and now is certainly my most cofortable and functional strapless bra. The underwires are very high quality and sturdy. If I could change anything it would be to add cookie pockets to or make the material stiffer in the cups because I find that helps maintain a better shape in a strapless for my full on bottom shape. I also think more could be done to mask the vertical seams. As with most Curvy Kate's, I find the cups run large.

Bought to help work out my size. My comments for reference:
    - Band: Tight, need to wear with 1 x extender. Might consider 36DD in this biscotti colourway.
    - Cup: Fits good, no issues!
    - Shape: Round shape but looking at the side profile, my boobs seem to sit quite low on my chest. Could just be that I am low-set.
    - Wing height: Too short/ does not include boning which doesn't give enough support for my boobs on the side. Shape (from top) is more of an upside down 'W' rather than an 'M' shape.

Such a pretty bra! I love the details- I would say it's best for someone with moderate immediate projection, short roots, and fairly projected, pointy breasts, based on the way it fits- and doesn't fit me. It almost works, but I have trouble keeping it in my IMF, and the wire is stretchy/flexes to the point that it can get easily distorted, which may be part of my problem with the torpedo shape I get.

Ugh. This is an unimpressive bra. I like to write positive reviews, but I'm overwhelmed with negativity regarding this bra.

    Cons:
    1. The gore is too wide. Great for wide-set breasts, but not my close set, center-full breasts.
    2. The wings are a single layer of unsupportive mesh.
    3. The straps are more narrow and less supportive than the straps I adore on my 30FF and 30G Curvy Kates.
    4. Assembly errors in the lace decoration yield scratchy lace on skin. These errors, from my perspective, form irritating, multi-layer, fabric points under each breast.
    5. If the gore (.9") were more narrow, the cups would fit very well. Today, they produce significant puckers on each side of the gore because the gore can't lay flat on my sternum. It sits atop both breasts. Ouch.

    Pros:
    1. Low wings
    2. Shorter wire-no poking in my armpit
    3. Smooth presentation under thin knits
    4. Relatively thin, soft foam cups
    5. Cups did not collapse with my projected pair

This feels like a $20 bra, and it is returning to Amazon. Sigh.

It's so weird. I have the undies and they are so soft and smooth. They are my favorites actually.

    • 1

I love my Ellace bra, but the undies are scratchy. Weird, indeed :-)

    • 1

The undies were $4 on Amazon, but I resisted because of the Ellace undies. I will reconsider. Thanks, cupandahalf :-)

    • Yeah I find the Ellace undies way more scratchy! What is with that??? Lol.

    • It is the sewing errors that are scratchy on Smoothie: they form a point under each breasts. Otherwise, I now agree with you: the lace is smooth and soft.

    • Ugh. Sewing errors. While CK is so great in depth for me, their quality aggravates me.

    • 1

      Autocorrect frustrates me ;-)

    • 1

Just as a correction, you probably mean "wide-set" and not "splayed" breasts. Being narrow, centre-full and close-set does not exclude having splayed roots, that's my shape.

    • spacenb So true. Splayed are not necessarily wide-set. Mine are splayed, too. Gravity :-)

EDIT: wore it about all day yesterday and while driving, and realize the cup could probably be one bigger, as i experience some cutting in near my underarms. it also seems to drag my breasts apart and give an all over unattractive look once ive had it on for a while.

After struggling with finding the Tempt Me I so desperately wanted, i got one off Braswap in my almost-right size, and I'm pretty pleased with it! This is used, so just a fair warning that the measurements may have gotten slightly larger from stretching, although from the looks of it the previous owner didn't get much use.

Appearance: ... The gold and black combo is very nice. its a muted, very soft gold, sort of champagne-tan, with a satiny finish. The black mesh has concentric circle swirls on the top, and ends with a scallop. there are two gold fabric buttons on the gore, and small black bows on the top of the cups where they meet the straps. The band is mesh. On this particular bra, there are a few loose threads and minor wrinkling in the satin overlay of the cups, probably from previous use.

Fit wise, this is nearly perfect. I could have sized down in the band, because it is definitely very stretchy. That being said, on the loosest measurement i don't feel any slipping, just slightly less support in the cups. Its odd- it feels very secure, but it can stretch a ton. might be good for anyone who needs a larger band size than is offered. On the tightest hook i feel most comfortable, and my breasts don't move about. The straps seem to made of the same magic material that can stretch super long. When wearing it they feel snug and don't move or slide, but i can pick them up off my shoulder a good 5 inches without feeling like i'm taxing the material- crazy! For me it isn't an issue, and they are fully adjustable, but if someone needs very short straps it might be a deal breaker.

I can fill the cups well with no overspill, just cleavage. My breasts hardly ever get any as they're far apart, and i wouldn't call this "extreme" for me, just gentle. For someone closer set, i can see how they would get the vavoom style as seen on the models! I don't think i get any added size when looking at it in clothing like i do from padded bras, but i feel like this bra isn't meant for that anyway. I have a minor issue with some creasing in the bottoms of the cups- even though i've got the bra high enough. It doesn't bother me comfort wise or show under clothes, so i'm wondering if the cups are shallow? again, no idea, but it doesn't seem to cause problems.

I haven't worn it longer than a few hours doing housework so far, but it is one of the most comfortable bras ive ever worn- ironic considering its apparent design as a sexytime bra. Ive got the Wild coming to me in a 32E (ordered before i got this one in) and hopefully it will fit perfectly and not need to have been a cup size larger!

I'm looking for a tshirt bra and heard the Starlet might not be quite as shallow as other Curvy Kate bras.

On the loosest hook, my breasts don't quite seem to sit well in the cups. The bottom of the cup doesn't seem to get filled completely and the top has a small gap.The top gap is a bit better when I put it on the middle hook but still there.

The problem I'm having with the top of the cup is if feel along the edge of the molding, you can feel that it curves inward toward the edge and then outward at the the end of ... the cup. So that it resembles a valley. This make the very top edge of the cup stand up and extremely noticeable when wearing a tshirt. I prefer my tshirt bras to lay completely flat and smooth without showing any sort of wrinkling or lines. I also tried on a 34F and this valley was almost non-existent in that one so I wonder if maybe I got a 34E bra that was just slightly deformed.

I LOVE princess!!! This is my go to favorite bra. I want more of this bra in different colors but I haven't got round to ordering any. The gore is tacking perfectly but it does dig a little into my breasts if I sleep in it (I know, thats a no no). The band is sufficiently stretchy and the wires encase all breast tissue! Perfect for a full on bottom girl like me.

I loved the Curvy Kate Portia so much for my shape (full on bottom) that I bought 2 more in White and in Watermelon. The gore tacks perfectly, all my breast tissue sits firmly in the cups after scoop and swoop, and the straps are comfy. This is a very stretchy band, so I've thought about sizing down to a 32FF but, that seemed like too much work.

  13. Elegance Plunge Bra (CK1401)

Me: Full on bottom, close set in front, splayed with wide root. Soft from breastfeeding two kids. Turns out VERY hard to fit in a bra.

I read this bra runs big and I'm glad I ordered a size up. I tried other Curvy Kates in 34E and the sheer lined ones were clearly too big, so I had hoped a 34E in the elegance was correct.

This bra seems to fit me ok, I might have the slightest bit of quadboob on the right, but my boobs are so uneven I might just have to live with that.
It's very comfortable and supportive. It makes my boobs look front and center and awesome!

The only thing I don't care for is all of the heavy lacy overlay, this is really going to show through my shirts.

My boobs are close in the center, wide and shallow at the root, full on bottom.

I can sometimes wear 34E but the cups in this bra are way too large for me. I would need to try a 34DD. Howver, I've also been advised this is not the best style for my breastshape so I will probably not try a smaller size.

I do like how wide the wires are, minimizing chub escaping at the underarms.

The center gore is too tall and cuts into my close breasts.

When I first got this bra, I thought it fit. However, the reality was that it just fit better than my other poorly fitting bras. It is still too small n the cup. The under wire on the side cuts into my breast tissue and it doesn't go up high enough. It has the slightest quad boob effect and it is a bit too separate for my breasts which tend to be very close together.

If the bra is hooked on the first hook, the edges of the band seams are very scratchy and hurt. Hooking it on the second hook solved the problem.

It is pretty but the lace ... folds on the cups mean it shows lumps in a tighter/thinner shirt. You couldn't wear it with everything.

The straps are almost perfect. I have pretty narrow shoulders and straps tend to be a big issue. The straps on this didn't fall off, but they feel a little bit like they are too wide set/loose. However, this may also be part of my adjustment to wearing properly fitted bras as I am used to wearing the straps super tight to compensate for the lack of fit in other areas

This is a really pretty bra, and the under-wire width/placement is just exactly right for me

    but.....

ugh, the straps and the fabric cup. The edge of the cup is not stretchy so it cuts into the top of my breasts and the decorations of the strap (and the fact that the straps are so far apart :///) kept irritating my skin to the point that I would get rash there that would last a week.

So, yeah, not the best bra for me

This bra is too small. 34F (in scarlet) looks a bit big, but this one is about 2 cups smaller than 34F! Cups are really shallow. I think that there is some difference between color variants, but unfortunately I'm not able to buy gold in 34F.
The gold/black combination is not vulgar like scarlet/black. The design is great, I really love it!

I usually do well with Curvy Kate bras so was very disappointed to find that the underwires in this one rub by the end of the day. I always get a bit of irritation, but it was worse with this than any other CK style I've tried - so sad because other than that the fit is lovely and the hatched lace is really pretty and a nice change from floral.

I'm willing to give this another go - perhaps try in another colour - as I've not had this problem so much with other similar styles (Jolie, Flirtelle Joy) so perhaps I just got one of a bad batch. Otherwise it fits very well - good cup shape, band fits but doesn't dig in, straps stay where they're meant to be.
