    Didn't fit

Oh gosh. I really want to like this bra because I really want a strapless, but I'm not quite sure.
It seems to fit okay. I can't find any real faults with the fit. The wires are a bit wide. I'm not quite filling the cups completely, but not really not filling them. The gore is fine. The slots for the straps go a bit wide into my armpits, if I were to wear them.
I'm just not quite sure I trust it as a strapless. Maybe I'm just paranoid, and it's just because there's no straps that I feel the desire to pull it up just a bit, just ... to make sure, every so often. Also the cups do this weird thing where the fold over a bit at the armpits after a few minutes of wear. I'm not sure what that means.
I don't have a strapless dress handy (I'd hidden them all away since I didn't have a bra to wear with them), so I tried it on under a spaghetti strap shirt. It's okay, but it has that tell-tale line, where it folds a bit at the armpits, that's like telling everyone, "Hey look, I'm trying to wear a strapless bra so you don't know I'm wearing a bra right now but you totally are!" But it's not as bad as it could be.
Gah, I can't decide if this works!

So again - I cant see your measurements here - usually I can on a fit request, so I can compare your measurements to the bras measurements. Not sure if the site was changed or if you didnt mark it to be able to see measurements?

But it looks like the cups are too big - specifically too tall. Your breasts do not fill the bottom of the cup but the bra also (clearly) comes up too high, esp under your arm.

I have never worn a strapless bra. If you are happy enough with how it looks under clothes, you certainly could wear it - very few people will notice the little details you notice. BUt i would say that the cup does not fit your breast or body shape. Are you short, btw? I feel like most of my bras cover just about my entire torso, but there's only so much you can do in the larger sizes

I sized up for this, because I usually need to in strapless bras and the measurements in Bratabase looked right. Sadly, it's waaaaaaay too big. There's much more than one cup's worth of empty space, so I'm thinking it's also a shape mismatch for me. My full-on-bottom breasts just don't come close to filling up the cups. The underwires dig painfully into my sternum, but it's hard to tell if a proper fit would solve that or not.

Sizing issues aside, the bra is nicely constructed. The seams are pretty flat. They might show through a thin top, but it would be perfect under a more structured or embellished top. The cups have a lot of projection. The band is lined with silicone and has a small piece of boning under the arms. The band is nice and tight and it actually stays in place!! It feels like this would be an excellent, supportive strapless bra in the right size.

I'd love to try this in a DD or E if I ever get the chance.

    Didn't fit

I've read so many great reviews of this bra that I had really high hopes for it. Unfortunately, I ended up being really disappointed. I was excited to finally have a strapless bra and this did actually stay up surprisingly well. That's pretty much the only good thing I can say about it though. I'm usually between a 28GG and a 28H depending on the shape and brand, but the cups on this bra were so shallow that I had to go up to a 28HH and I was still spilling out over the top. The construction of this bra was just strange to me, it didn't seem ... like the makers had any idea of how to make a bra with a large cup size and a small band size. When I first saw it, I thought the cups looked huge and there was no way it would fit. The cups were just really wide though and stretched all the way to my back. There wasn't enough support on the bottom of the cups, so they just kind of folded inward and dug into my ribs. It was pretty painful, so I didn't wear it for more than a few minutes. There's no way I could go all day in this thing. To top it off, the vertical stitching on the cup was really noticeable under a shirt.

    Didn't fit

Strapless bras in my size are, of course, difficult. But this one has been getting rave reviews. Supposedly it really keeps 'em up there! Feels stable, and so on!

...Not really my experience, alas. Part of it is a shape mismatch; Curvy Kate and I have never gotten along. (I'm too narrow and projected for them, just speaking generally.) But for strapless bras, you sort of have to put up with a certain amount of wideness and shallowness, similar to sports bras. Without straps, you just can't quite support the projected shape.

Still, ye olde 34G - Wacoal » Red Carpet Convertible (854119) did a much better job ... of keeping me feeling supported and stable than this bra, which seems determined to sit below where a band should be, pushing my skin out in a way that creates an unpleasant reverse muffin-top shape, and squeezing uncomfortably as my ribcage is a different size where it now 'sits'. No amount of pulling this bra up will get it to actually sit where it should, and as a result... it manages to feel both too big and too tight, putting the weight of my boobs on this part of my ribcage. (But I tried the 32 band in the past, and it was too big to actually stay up at all, so... no good.) The overall effect is to shorten my waist and make me look dumpy.

The shape under t-shirts is a bit awkward, as without the straps and with no line of the tacky material that lines the band to keep the cups actually up, they gap away from my tissue.

Overall, this is just a completely unworkable strapless bra, and it was around $70 on Amazon to boot. Thank goodness for Prime shipping and free returns.

I wore this with an extender because I'm a 40 band. All the problems I have with bras in one. Gore much too tall so my touching breasts push it out. Cups too shallow and too tall cause my breasts to curve back on themselves against my chest due to my omega shape. The band is firm and stays up. I think for someone without touching breasts that push out tall gores, who isn't omega or quite as immediate projected as me, would find lots of stability because the cups do have a fair amount of center and apex projection for strapless. I will stick with straps though.

  6. I had one rules when I buy bra, that is go one cup size up when I get plunge and strapless
for me it was a damn right choice go up 1 cup size.

I wore Forever21 strapless red jumpsuit on it
    It was perfect!

I think I finally found my strapless bra.

for the record most of barconette bra is 28H/HH
    half cup is 28HH/28J(mostly J)
    Plunge is 28J

if you are shallow and wide root, this could be the right choice

*edit : it was perfect for white t-shirt n just whatever white top
But I can see the vertical seam line but it doesn't look that weird

Wires are FIRM. Like, super super FIRM. I know I can’t wear it as is. I know some people have switched out the wires on some bras and I would consider that idea, but the bra is also a little too wide set for me. By that I mean the gore is too wide and the cups are too far apart.

If it wasn’t for those too things (extra firm wires and wide gore) I’d probably be pretty happy with this strapless bra

    Hasn't set fit

Yet another issue I have with Curvy Kate. Strapless cups are too damn high on the chest. The sole reason I purchased this one was to wear a good fitted strapless bra under strapless attire. BUT cups are too high on the chest to wear underneath low cut attire! >https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Once again, cups are way too wide and size consistency is off (this one is too big and spacious).

    Didn't fit

I lost track of my UK size because I almost exclusively wear Polish now, but I guess I'm a 28FF. I've seen a lot of reviews recommending to size up in this bra so I got a 28G. My shape is projected, full on top and centre, with tall and narrow roots, soft and self-supporting tissue, and super close-set.

A few years ago I tried this bra and it was too big in the band and too small in the cups, causing gaps and painful wires under the armpit. I just got a bunch of cute summer tops and dresses so I decided to try again, as it is ... known as the most narrow and projected strapless bra.

The band is tight, but not a full size tight, with elastic gel strips. The cups are indeed narrow and projected, but a little closed on top. I agree with the advice to go up a cup. It's almost a perfect fit on my right (smaller) side, but I have these lumps on my left (bigger) side at the bottom and quad boobs at the top. I'm afraid a 28GG would be too big though. The gore is too wide but I'm not sure if I can successfully do the overlapping alteration on a padded bra.

Gosh, I tried to get this one to work too, and tried my normal size and the sister size up. Both seemed fine in the cup shape and size, but the hard wires kept digging in at the gore and I couldn't tolerate the pain. Did you have any issues with painful wires digging in with the size you tried?

    • belleandblues Because of how close-set I am, most gores are painful unless they're overlapped. I did the alteration on this bra and the wires were still digging, so I put a tissue paper under the gore when I wore it out for a whole day. It was not very comfortable but tolerable. When I took it off there were bruises on the side where the top of the wire sat. :( I've got an extender on the way so hopefully that'll help. I've tried a 30 band and it was too loose for me.

    • 1

Ouch, that's brave of you to try wearing it out, but it hurts to read about the bruising! Do you think this might work better if you replace the underwires with ones that are less rigid? Even when I was in the sister size with a more comfortable band, the wires were intolerable.

Fits great. Structured so gives a nice shape. Versatile, can be worn strapless. looks great but seam in middle of cup that can show through thinner clothing.
