    Fits

I think this bra fits fairly well. The cups are narrow enough, the gore tacks, and I get almost enough projection (but not quite enough on the larger left side, where I get some squashing to the side). This seems a bit stretchy for a 32 band, and I needed to start out on the second hole. It looks great from the front, and it gives good support and fairly good lift. Still, I find the silhouette it generates a bit odd and droopy. This is exacerbated as the hours go by, and I end up with an upside down 7 by the end of the day (The ... pictures I've submitted so far don't really show that.). I think the shape has something to do with the material Curvy Kate uses, as well as the fact that the bottom panel isn't quite large enough to keep lifting the same way throughout the day. I've been wearing the bra, but only with baggier clothes because I'm a bit self-conscious about the shape.

I'm full on bottom, but I'm not sure this is a specifically full on bottom bra since I can tell the lace is a little bit looser than I'd prefer on top. It's not bad, and it doesn't leave me unsupported. It's just not perfect. Also, I think the lacy part is a little too big -- I'd prefer a bigger bottom panel that covers my nipples and smaller upper panels. Still, it's one of the better fits I've found.

I do have one fit problem that I haven't faced before, perhaps because I've been wearing bras too low. It's not quite that the underwire pokes, but I do get fabric from the wings that digs a bit into my armpits. I think maybe the wings are a little higher than I'd prefer.

  2. This is the first Curvy Kate bra I've ever tried. There are some good and bad things about this particular one. Firstly, the straps are set really wide ... where the fabric of the cup ends really digs into my armpits, if that makes any sense. The wires are pretty much situated right in the middle of my armpit, but they don't poke or dig. It's the elastic and the fabric that is rubbing against me, so it's a little uncomfortable. I'm also not used to unpadded bras, but so far the fabric itself feels nice. I fill out the cups nicely, I just wish the wires weren't so wide and the straps set so far apart.
Are all Curvy Kate bras like that?
Edit: I used one of the helpful bra alteration tutorials to move the straps over a little bit, and I removed some of the excess fabric from the armpit area. The bra fits a lot more comfortably now, though the straps are still a little farther apart than I would like.

I tend not to do well in unpadded bras, so I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and attractive the Gia is! I have it in both the black and blush colorways, and they both look lovely on. (Also, the matching briefs are cute, cover my whole butt, and are *amazingly* comfortable.) The straps are a little wide for me and there's a bit too much fabric in the tops of the cups for me to fill, but it doesn't show under clothes -- it's hard to describe, but the *edge* of the cup lies flat, and so does the solid fabric that makes up the bottom of ... the cup, but the fabric in the top half of the cup (especially up towards the strap) sort of puffs out a little in between because it's designed for more volume/a more perfect hemisphere than I have on the top of my breast. But like I said, it doesn't show under clothing or at all unless you're looking closely at the place where the cup meets the strap, so it doesn't bother me.

This is my favorite Curvy Kate bra. The pink tone in the nude colorway is beautiful and the pattern and materials are so luxurious. The wide band is super supportive and smooths very well.

Generally CK bras give me a bad shape, but the Gia just gives me a toned down look for when I wanted to look modest in my work clothes. It's minimised but rounded,

This specific size worked very well for me when I got it, but I very quickly grew out of it and the stiff fabric of the top portion is really unforgiving with cutting in,

  5. This bra is comfortable but I have gone from the first hook to the 3rd hook in a couple of days, I may have chose too large of band. It fits nicely and is pretty. The underwire pokes underneath some where I think it has been slipping. Still trying to get the straps figured out because they were hurting my neck and shoulder but adjusting them longer helped that but they slip off my shoulder some. I have a small gap at the top but it does not really bother me and looks fine under a shirt. Bra now fits good, just took some adjusting and I fill it out well now.

This bra fits well and supports nicely, but the edge digs in a little too much on top for me, and gives me a little bit of quadboob. The cups are also fairly tall, which mismatches with my shorter root. I'm fairly projected and have pretty soft tissue, so this would work for someone whose tissue doesn't have a tendency to overflow. The color, design, and details are beautiful, the band is snug, but the quadboob and too-tall height makes this one a no-go for me.

Finally got a good fit from Curvy Kate! It took many tries to find my size in the Gia, but I got it. This bra gives great support and is also beautiful. I have broad shoulders so the straps were not too far apart for me. If you have given up on getting a good fit from CK, try going down a band size and up a cup size. That did it for me. Have not washed it yet, so I can't speak to how it will be with time. There is nothing I don't like about this bra, best fitting balconette for me so far. Slightly projected, but still feels secure. The seams do show a bit through tight or thin clothing, but not too bad. Bonus: I stand up straighter in this bra, not slouching as much.

    Hasn't set fit

Curvy Kate has never been a good shape for me, so I don't know why I expected this bra to be any different, but somehow, the bargain on a continuity color made me lose my head, and I ordered two of them.

It's a very nice bra for an even shape, if Curvy Kate is a shape that generally works for you, but the overall structure of CK bras for me has always been too wide in the gore, too wide in the wire, and too shallow in the cup. It would probably have been a better fit if I sized up a cup, as I hear a lot of ladies need to do for Curvy Kate, but instead I sister sized from my usual 30G(Freya) to a 32FF for this one, which leaves me with a cup that's much too shallow for me. I think a 32G or 30GG would have been much better in my case.

Curvy Kate Gia: fail. Then again, Curvy Kate has never worked for me, so I don't know what I was honestly expecting.

I knew this bra ran about a band tight, and was expecting the gore would be too wide, so I intentionally ordered a sister size up from my usual, and went with 32FF, which was clearly a bad idea. (Not as bad an idea as buying it in both blush and black because the price was great, though.)

Not projected enough, band too loose even after the gore alteration (though just barely - it's surprisingly stretchy in blush. I remember the red being quite snug), ... cups are wider than anticipated at about 5.5 inches, so no better in width than the Freya Ooh La La I just returned for precisely this reason. Barely gives more coverage than the Polish brands I keep disdaining because I need a more full coverage bra to contain my loose skin.

So, yeah, my skin being loose just means all that excess tumbles right out of the bra from every possible escape root, and definitely too small. I think it may actually run a cup small. Hard to say exactly, since I sister sized, but sufficed to say...My boobs were sad. My wallet is sad. There's just a lot of sad going on right now.

I'm trying to decide if there's a size in this bra that might work for me, but the wires being already as wide as they are, I'm afraid going up to the size I would need (which I expect is probably a 30GG, maybe a 32G) will just do the same thing all other brands do at that size - have wires way way way too wide, and cause 'sad boob' (boobs that are pushing down the cup and causing a saggy, unsupported look).

The shape is fairly round, I will say that much for it. I'm probably going to be selling both - the black I haven't even tried on. The blush I'm still considering, but almost definitely going to remove the gore alteration and sell as well.

    FML. Back to square one...

    • I don't know about the black but I thought the blush was from the "wrong" season i.e. before they retooled the design to make the cups narrower and deeper. I bought a blush Gia 32FF last fall and it was too shallow on the inner cup...

    • Honestly, it's specifically because it was blush that I wanted it to work. I expect both are from the same season, as I purchased them from the same sale.

And while I do appreciate that Curvy Kate is finally fixing the problem with their bras, I don't know how we're expected to know what we're buying (especially on continuity colors like blacks, whites, and beiges).

This is just plain a cup too small. The overall shape seems to have decent depth for a full all over shape...if I was a 30FF. I honestly don't notice middle depth much anymore, since I'm so accustomed to altering Freyas to compensate for the lack, and since, like Freya, Curvy Kate has a gore that's always significantly too wide or me anyway, so I buy with the expectation of creating middle depth by altering the gore.

To hell with Curvy Kate (a statement I will likely take back later when I'm less irritated about the inconsistency), I'm going back to altered Freyas. At least with Freya, I know what I'm buying and 9 times out of 10 the sizing is consistent, with mostly only the black ones being weird, which at least makes sense.

I guess it's Gem or Rio next, if I ever want to wear a light colored shirt again. Not sure how much longer I can honestly expect my Jolie to last, as the only bra in my collection that isn't patterned.
