    Ah, Marcie!
Marcie, Marcie, Marcie. You lured me away from Poland with promises of wispy soft blue hues, coral accents, and firm bands.
Then you broke my heart with your purple truth, your TRAFFIC CONE NEON ORANGE highlights, and your Freya level stretchy band :''(
    Horribly deceitful and horribly expensive!

I so badly want a soft cup bra that gives great shape that is in a cool hue. All Ewa has coming out in my SM are pinks, and no, no more pinks please. So I wandered to Marcie, because in promo images Bluebell is gorgeous, like a hydrangea. The trimmings and bows look like a bright coral, which is pretty against ... the blue.
Either my monitor sucks or the promotional images do, and I'm telling you that with my husband's computer obsession, I'm pretty sure it's not my monitor.
This is purple in real life. Nothing against purple, but it's not what I wanted. The accents are neon, so bright, and I hate them.
    The disappointment is real people!

As for fit, the band is so incredibly stretchy. I bought a 30, because Cleo Marcie is notorious for running tight in most colorways. I had 28 banded Marcies way back when red was new and they were torture to my ribs. So up to 30 I went. It easily stretched to 32" and frankly I probably could have pulled it to at least 33" if not maybe 34". In my pictures you can see it push up into my lats and give me a nice big bulge over the band.

The cups were okay. The wires aren't too bad until they suddenly widen out at the top by my armpit.
Immediate projection was okay. There could have been more or maybe I could have used a cup up.
I had some looseness at the top, but I expected it, Marcie is more suited to FoT shapes and I am even, functionally FoB. So, I don't fault her for that.

I noped right out of this bra. It's going back and I'm not reordering it. If it ever makes it to a clearance price (and I mean less than $20) then perhaps I'd revisit it. Get a smaller band size, remove all the awful orange trim, because I still badly want a cool toned soft bra.
I know this review is brief, but I didn't wear the bra that long, mostly just long enough for pictures.

    • I like the color of the bra, and I could even deal with the orange bow, but that orange trim on the bottom has to go! I recently got a Marcie in nude in my normal band size, and the band was tight the first time I wore it, but it loosened up very quickly. Granted, I seem to have lost 1/2 inch around my ribcage, since I put my measurements in Bratabase, but I don't think it should have made that much of a difference.

I actually don't mind the main color. It's a lot more purple in real life than it is in any photo but it isn't bad. It just isn't what I wanted.
The bottom trim would be really easy to remove. The only orange that'd be left is the hardware, but you can't see any of that while you're wearing it anyway.

    • I think what I miss most about VS is that they actually could match colors properly!

    • 1

Oh, i dont like the orange at all. I have only one Marcie, a raspberry. I also ordered a band size up after someone here said they run tight and immediately sent it bak for my normal band size - which was still kinda stretchy. i've gone up a cup size but its stretched out so much i can still wear it . . .

its a shame because its such an easy fit, but its horrible quality

I love the Marcie to death. The yellow color way is pretty true to size, in my opinion, while the pink color way errs on the smaller side. For me, this means the pink one fits better than the yellow!
Overall, this bra is perfect for FOT shapes that need a lot of projection. It gives that half-sphere shape and the pattern of lace/mesh(?) isn't visible through shirts. It's a spunky yellow, too!

    Used to fit

Okay, third of four reviews, here we go! For some reason, a couple weeks ago, I suddenly got a hankering to get my hands on a Bluebell Marcie. It's the SS16 colourway, so already a couple years out of production, but I got really, really lucky and found it on Amazon.ca in a 30E. Currently my Marcie in Burgundy is fitting big in the cups, and it's a 28F, so I was unsure of whether I wanted to try a cup size down or not, but the Bluebell was literally only available in 30E, so that forced my hand, and I'm glad it did! Also, there was literally ... only one left in this size, and I added it to my wishlist when it was around $71 CAD (which is the same price as the other mainstay colourways) and I kept checking on it several times a day, and for some odd reason the price started dropping a couple bucks a day. I finally pulled the trigger when it got down to $54 CAD, which for us Canadians is a steal for new (UK) bras! I wish I could see if the price would've dropped any more, but I didn't want to take the chance of it getting sold out.

In my research of this bra, I tried to see through measurements and reviews on this site whether there was a correlation between certain colours having larger or smaller cup depths than other colours, but unfortunately there weren't very many Bluebells added in the first place, so I had to just take a chance. (Side note: I try to always include the name of the colourway when I'm adding my bras; do you? It pops up under the user's name in the measurements table for one particular size, when you want to see all of the measurements added for that particular bra. Side side note: In a perfect world I would love to be able to filter data by colourway for bras like Marcie which have many different colourways. Have I said colourway enough? Anyway, back to the review.)

Oh my, the appearance! I'm sure you all know why I got a hankering for this one. The beautiful pastel periwinkle colour plus the neon orange trimmings = perfection. It gives a nice round, projected appearance as always. It fits snugly (for now) on the tightest hook, and when the time comes I'm going to take a chance and take in the band to extend the life of it. (Second side note: I have a pile of bras which I need to take in the bands of, and I've read countless tutorials on how to do it with almost as many different methods, but I'm still too scared to actually do it.) This one does run just a hair smaller in the cups than my burgundy, which is perfect for me right now, and I'm sure it will accommodate me when I'm slightly bigger boobed as well.

Overall, I'm again very happy with this purchase. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

    Fits

I'd never expected Marcie to fit, as before my size change Lucy was my holy grail bra. Found this guy on sale and gave it a try. Holy cow! This is amazing for my boobs right now. The band is snug, the cups have enough depth for my bottom projection, the top edge lies flat (a vague hint of quadboob on my larger side, but I'm at my fullest right now), the gore sits flat without digging in. Comparing this with my Lucy (which I've replaced in my new size), I think I have a strong preference for solid bands. (One-piece bands? Continuous bands? Is there a real word for that?)

Bonus, the lace! Lucy's flowers are okay, but Marcie's little bows suit me better. Finally owning a yellow bra feels like winning.

    Color: aquamarine

I like the Marcie. It suits my shallow shape with wide roots very well, and it creates a rounded, upliftet look.
It fits true to size in the cups, but the band is very tight.

I'm having two issues with it:

    - The center gore creates red marks at the sternum, because they dig into the skin. I bent the wires and tried 'breaking it in' wearing a cotton ball, but the situation didn't improve.

    - The wires are too short for the wire channels end therefore end up too short at the sides.
After a few hours of wear, the cups become emptier as the breast tissue isn't contained in the cups. The shape gets worse.

Sister sizing up to 32DD resolved these issues for me.

The gore on this bra is too wide for me but since the wire channels are longer than the wires I can push the wires out into the armpits and out of the center and it works okay with lower wires. They are kind of pokey at whichever end the wires are pushed to but it has improved with wear. The band does fit tight, after a few hours it digs in on my back painfully, but with an extender is okay. The cups fit my breasts wonderfully though so this bra is a winner for me.

I got this bra on 30E because 28F was not available but I got lucky: the band is tight enough for me. It is only 58cm long unstretched so it fits like 28. (I usually wear 28F)

The cups are a little problematic. The upper part of cups is too tight and it cuts in a little. There´s some quadboobing because of that. It is not as bad as in Lucy, but still it is there. Also the bra feels kind of "tight", I´m not sure if one cup size bigger would be better.

Straps are okay, they adjust all the way.

EDIT. Cups are definitely too small. I tried to sew a dart/triangle to the center gore to ease the quadboobing, but then the cups were even "tighter", wires painful in the center and at the sides, and it was just not working. Pictures are taken without alterations (I took the dart off).

Cups wrinkle at the outer corner and cuts into my breast tissue on my bigger side quadboob effect at the same time. Wayy to close at the top, not shallow enough, too projected and close together. Band is too large. Overall bad fit for fOb shallow wide set breasts.

A pretty bra, but for me this is a shape mismatch. The wires are wide, but I need them wider. The cups are too deep, but only slightly so, so a cup size smaller won't work for me. My breasts are full on top, but somehow I do fill the bottom of this bra, but not the top. My roots are wide and tall, and I guess my breasts just move in the cup because it's rather big. Then there are the usual Cleo issues: wires are not flexible enough, gore is too wide and too high and pokes. It still looks decent so I'm sure this would be a great bra of it would fit. The fabric feels nice and it's well made. I just hoped it would fit me, as I had read that the Marcie works for a wide range of breasts.

Shape: round, projected, even to FoB, close set, average root width.

This is the second Marcie I've tried, the first being a 32DD in Raspberry that not only did not fit in the first place (band way too loose, cups too narrow) but I've worn to death over the last year and a half. My fit issues in the 32DD Raspberry gave me pause with the Marcie cut, but this 30E in Bluebell fits perfectly (excellent wire width, cups filled, no gapping or wrinkling)... EXCEPT for the band. What the heck, Cleo? This is the stretchiest 30 band I've ever tried (to be fair, I haven't tried any notoriously ... stretchy Freyas). Right off the bat I can fasten on the second hook. This fits so well everywhere else that I'm hesitant to give it up, but I'm going to give this a try in 28F and see how it goes. Also, I know the bluebell / coral highlight colorway is a bit controversial, but for what it's worth, I love the neon accents - it's a unique take on the pastel blue trend https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
