I don't know whether to laugh or cry or both. Marcie fits just right in every way and looks good. And now that Cleo is making it in black and nude, they've dropped my size. Marcie is now only available starting at 28E which is much too big. [insert string of profanity here]

Edit: Okay, I should try to review this properly, given that it's currently my favourite bra but also has the least informative review.

My roots are narrow-ish and very tall. My ribcage is on the small side of 28" and my bust is full on top and /relatively/ projected for my size. Take all of the previous ... descriptions with a grain of salt because I'm still learning here.
28D Cleo Marcie in red is basically the perfect bra. It fits like it's painted on. The cups are open enough on top (by which I mean, they are extremely open on top) and the wires follow the edge of my root all the way around. The shape it gives is beautifully rounded (which is impressive, given my size). The colour is a bright bold fire-hydrant red and the fabric is just the right level of sheer. Perfect perfect perfect. /endrave

If you have a 28D Marcie that you're not 110% happy with, pleeeeaaaaase send it to me and I will love you forever! On that note, thank you biesmie for this one.

Time to stalk up! Email Cleo to tell them how disappointed that your size is being discontinued.

That way you are showing them that the demand is there! I sent a message off because with their new changes I will be in one of their smallest bras, and that's just silly!

    • at least the Maddie and the Juna are still available in the smallest sizes.

    • Saskia_C , yeah but neither of those fit me

    • I'm being sized out of all their bras too, and I actually did send them an email letting them know I'm a disappointed customer. I didn't get a reply. However I am very happy to see that the new Cleo Mimi in lilac is supposed to come out in a 28D and 30C, and I think I'll be able to wear the Koko Muse in 30D.

I am on a mission to collect as many 28D Marcies as possible. This yellow one was my first ever eBay purchase. It's pretty much the exact colour of piss on a hot summer day when you haven't had enough water. It's the colour of the Walmart smiley. Bright, shameless, obnoxiously yellow. I thought I would hate it but actually... I kind of like it. It is now the loudest piece of underwear I own. And because it's a Marcie and fits me like it was made for me, it makes me happy.

    • Where did you find this in this color and size!?!?

    • I think it was figleaves or https://www.poinsettiastyle.co.uk but the size is discontinued so it might be harder to find now :(

    • Yeah, I figured that out. :-(
What is with Cleo doing that! I know they were popular in those sizes.

This review is for the candy pink (SS13) colourway. I didn’t notice the seam tension error that a lot of people have reported with the red AW12 Marcies. The colour is a neutral pink - in flash photos it looks more blue-toned. The cups feel true to size, but the band is very tight. I measure 26” snug, and the 28 band Marcie is technically a good fit for me (no wire distortion etc), but it feels tighter than I prefer to wear my bras and it's more comfortable with an extender. The wires are also quite hard and inflexible.

The Cleo Lucy (5851) didn't work for ... me so I was hoping that the Marcie would, and I do like the rounded shape and relatively roomy upper cup, but the straps seem to be a dealbreaker: they just don't adjust long enough for me. Even at their maximum length they feel uncomfortably short, make the cups seem smaller than they are, and tend to pull the bra up in front (no mean feat considering how tight the band is). I’m only a bit taller than average, but the 28D feels like it was designed to fit a much shorter torso than mine.

I adore this raspberry color and the beautiful flowery lace details -- such a playful bra -- but I'm quadding right out of it and the wires are throttling me. Got it in a 30D too, much better (though still not an ideal bra if you're full on the bottom, like me). As always, love Cleo's gentle lift-to-center fit.

    root: wide, gradual v
    fullness: slightly shallow, even

when i wear bras with U-shaped underwires, i can swoop and scoop as best i can but i always end up falling out of the cups at the end of the day. marcie's wires are not U-shaped, at least not in this size range. the wire's slope at the armpit is more gradual, which suits my IMF better. this is the closest that a bra's underwires have gotten to fitting me. that said, i would prefer that the wires be ever so slightly wider.

on most bras with lace that i've tried, the lace looks weird. the marcie is no different, but ... it's caused less problems than other bras. it gapes at the top edge, just barely, and has a tendency to bag in the middle of the cup, where the lace and cup connect. i've read on r/abtf that there is a defect in the lace that contributes to the wrinkliness.

i think the disagreement between the lace and my upper tissue causes marcie to give me a pointier shape than the round shape that it gives other people with shallower shapes and more FOT tissue. it doesn't help that my nipples are really puffy. i want to love this bra, but the wrinkling irks me, even if it is a small issue.

    • in my size, 32J, that wrinkle is even more exaggerated and becomes 'in-cup quadding'. I love the bra as it holds me well and is super comfy, but I can only wear it in something that doesnt cling at all. I could even see the dent it gives me under most of my winter sweaters. Is yours also Raspberry color? I think thats the worst, but apparently the red was also bad.

    • yes this is the raspberry. I read that there are discrepancies across different colors, but i had no idea it was that bad.

    • I think this is so close on you, but looks slightly too narrow. If the lace is gapping at the top - have you tried Cleo Lucy?

    • a few months ago. there was honestly even more wrinkling. I may order again and try to swoop and scoop better.

    • update: i remember the 28D lucy being not just more FOB, but also more projected, and causing wrinkling everywhere, not just in the upper section.

This is both my first unlined bra and my first 28 band (thanks for the swap waffleknit ). While there were a lot of things wrong about this bra, I think I'm going in the right direction.

    Pro:
    - my boobs look surprisingly good (read: full) considering this is an unlined bra. I wasn't into the shape at first, but now I'm kind of digging it.
    - aside from the sternum-poking (see below) it was easy to forget this bra was on. There was minimal adjusting throughout the day.

    Con:
    - my roots are too tall and/or my boobs are too FOT for this model, especially when I swoop and scoop. ... It becomes less noticeable as I lose the swoop, but it is definitely not an ideal shape.
    - that also leads me to wonder if this is not the correct size and I should be wearing a 28DD.
    - the underwires dig into my sternum. I've never had the problem of a band being too tight before, so perhaps this will fix itself if I keep wearing it?
    - it is pink. Ugh.

I won't be getting rid of this one in a hurry because it's oddly comfortable and definitely closer to fitting than my 30Cs and Bs, but I think I'm going to look into half-cups to avoid the cutting in on top that I got here.

at least in bigger sizes, Marcie is considered very full-on-top friendly. So I wonder if it is a size problem? Also, you can try wearing an extender to see if the band is just a tad too tight, and you can also try bending the wires so they dont poke.

    • Hmm yeah, that definitely makes me wonder if a DD would be a better fit.

    • If you've found bras that fit better (since this post is really old!) I would LOVE to buy this from you!

Cleo bras seem to have a break-in period. Initially, the bands are way too tight and uncomfortable, but after a good wear or two, they transform into the comfiest things ever. This one was intolerable to wear more than an hour at first, but is getting better with wear.
The Marcie is similar to the Lucy, but the cups (known to run small on the Lucy) are even smaller on the Marcie. While I get some quad-boobing during certain times of the month, the rest of the time, this is a great fit. I generally fit a 28D as long as it runs small in the cups, so this ... fits the bill.
I believe the centre gore of the Marcie is taller and narrower than the Lucy as well. I prefer the gore of the Lucy (shorter gores don't dig in to bony ribs as much), but this one fits alright as well. It lays flat but does poke a bit if I slouch.
Overall, it's a good bra that works well enough and gives me a bit of variety, but the Lucy is a better fit.

I think the cups were a little small for me, and I will be swapping this out for a 28DD to compare. I quadboobed out the tops just a little too much, and the sides were resting on my breast tissue. I'll give that size a proper review if it fits better.

I got the scarlet Marcie, and I it had the defect in the seam that is common. The horizontal seam on one cup is pulled too tightly and cuts into the middle of my breast. I hear this is an easy fix by wetting and pulling the seams, but I don't want to risk being unable to return the bra.

I have shallow breasts, and this bra caused noticeable in-cup quadboob. I am concerned that the 28DD will be too big, because I seem to be similarly between sizes with the Juna. If this size fits, it would give a nice, rounded shape to shallow, conical breasts. I am concerned that this size is too shallow for my apex, and the 28DD will have too much overall volume in every other area.

Watch out: the bra I ordered was defective. If you notice a problem with odd seam cutting, try turning the bra inside out so the cups are on the other breast to test for a cup defect.

Fits surprisingly well on my shallow breasts. It does wrinkle a little bit on my bigger breast, and quite a bit on my smaller one. Too much wrinkling on my smaller one for me to keep but I was surprised by how well it worked for my breasts.
