    Fits

I think I jumped the gun a little bit with the first size I tried on in this bra! I originally was in a 28DD and it fit so well (compared to my ill fitting 32 A's and B's) that I was so excited and thought it was perfect. Thank goodness a Bratabaser (is that a word?) recommended sizing down on the cup size to solve my too-wide strap issue!

This is truly the best possible fit for me, don't you think so? I wore it all day today, adjusted 0 times, and when I took it off when I got home had no red marks, even from the wide-set straps!

Today I learned the importance of letting your breasts settle a bit in the cup before deciding whether a bra is too small! Thank you so much cjarasmith https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

    • Lovely!!

    • I don't think red marks are necessarily a bad thing, as long as it doesn't cause pain

    • Heh mercury, you're so right! For me in the 28DD, by the end of the day I had painful red marks where the seam was between the cup and the strap since the cup was a little bit too wide for me!

    • Do you find the top edge to show through a lot of tops? I bought Maddie in orange animal print (discontinued) and that top edge is different -- I thought it would be less visible through clothing than what you bought, but it does stick out pretty badly, despite being a perfect fit. I'm wondering if the embroidered top edge is better or worse.

    • Idk why I didn't see this river_wilde , until now, I logged on and batch uploaded like 10 bras.

Yes the top edge shows under clothes :( Usually I wear this one with loose clothes/thicker fabric like sweaters, or wear a tank top under to hide the top edge.

My new favorite bra is the Masquerade, Ardour in 28D. It fits perfect as well and stays flat under almost everything!

I am really upset that Cleo seems to only offer size 28D in padded and moulded cup bras. So far I have not been a huge fan of them even though they're comfortable and look pretty good. I really like the low coverage of this bra, but it was not designed for a bust like mine. I think this bra was supposed to have a fuller coverage like your average moulded cup; only cut balcony style. It sort of follows the natural shape of my breast. I'm not shallow at the bottom of my breast, but most my tissue falls in the center of my breast making ... it so I need the most room at the apex. This bra has a VERY shallow bottom and very open top, my nipples aren't far below the top edge of the bra. So, it 'fit' and it made my bust look voluminous and rounded.
The straps are your typical "elastic" style straps and these are fully adjustable. These straps appear to made of two separate "elastic" fabrics,l. The top fabric is covered in tight horizontal lines that are bit hard to stretch and the bottom looks like a more typical cotton elastic. They're also set very wide. Oddly enough, the way the straps are attached the cups they do no go straight up like usual, but the seem to angle away from the body. So far I have not had an issue with straps falling off of my broad shoulders. I spent the whole night slipping the left strap (but not the right strap for whatever reason) back onto my shoulder. Boy that was annoying.
This is a used bra and as such the band stretched to 29" without the cups distorting (not that they could easily distort with the shape of the under wire). Which, IMO, is really not too stretched out for a well loved bra. So, it's still reasonably firm. I wore the bra on the loosest hook and should've worn on middle or tightest hook as the bra was not very stable on me, but the band did not ride up either. It was juuuust gripping me. It's made of an interesting fabric that is quite soft and smooth. If you hold it up to the light you can see faint columns in the fabric with horizontal lines going through them. It's an interesting pattern. The fabric is still fairly firm, but no where near as firm as the elastic remains. The elastic is thicker/denser on the bottom of the band than the top of the band. The visible side of the bra has the elastic covered by the band fabric while the inside of the bra has the elastic on display. The bottom elastic feels a lot more plush than the top elastic which feels more like that elastic that has a tendency to dig in. It's nice and grippy and managed to stay put even though it was just barely wrapping my rib cage. The elastic of the band continues across the whole bra and is attached underneath the cups. I wish the band was wider on this particular bra.
These under wires have a very different shape compared to all the bras I've seen so far. Most the bras I've looked at have a familiar 'U' or 'C' shape to them. These under wires are shaped for like a slightly curved line . They come down in the typical 'C' fashion from the gore, but then the other side straightens out. I hope the pictures assist with my description. Because the wires are shaped like this and are fairly short, it allows my breasts to try and escape out the sides. I felt the need to pull my breast back into the cup fairly frequently. These wires are very firm and do not flex. Although they do seem to have some padding between the wires and your skin. Which may have been the only reason they did not dig in on me. The wires almost touch at the top of the gore and remain fairly narrow towards the bottom of the gore. Normally this would be great for me, but because of where the bra sits on me this gore is too wide and as you can see in my frontal picture, it's obviously sitting on tissue and would be an overall better fit if the gore was more narrow than it is. It is really narrow compared to most bras I've seen. Fortunately, if have this issue with many bras and my inner tissue is shallow enough that it hardly ever bothers me that the wires are sitting on it.
The cups are made of a seamless moulded foam and covered in the same fabric used in the band. There is also some edging details (maybe lace?) on the top half inch of the cup that causes the cup to curl in some. It's not closed in enough to affect anyone whom runs away from bras that have closed top. In fact it is still very open on top and would not work for those whom need a closed edge. The lightly closed edge works well for me as it prevents any gaping I might have gotten from this moulded cup bra. This moulded cup is shaped completely differently from any other moulded cup I have come across. While I appreciate this, it does not hold my breast in very well. The bottom of the cup feels like it is squeezing the bottom of my breast instead of lifting and supporting it; while the top of the cup is just resting around my breast instead of holding it in and continuing the bras job of support. The outer edge of the cup does not seem like it's designed to pull your bust the center of the chest and hold it there. It seems like the whole cup is just designed to boost the bust up and allow it to sit there, unsecured.
All in all; I really do love the way this bra makes my bust look under clothes even though you can clearly see the top edge of the cups through clothes. Perhaps it would not show through a very thick fabric, but it easily showed through my ribbed knit tank and thin cami's/tee's. It pretty d**n comfortable to wear but gives me no cleavage. I think this bra could do wonders for those whom are fairly shallow or women with FOB breast without a lot of "at the wire" projection needed. And I don't see any issues for those with FOT breasts. Tall and short roots alike should get along well with this bra as there is nothing to cut in and yet the cups are a much shorter height compared to the majority of the moulded cup bras out there. This certainly wouldn't work for close whom need closed top bras or those with ample amounts of projection. If you have loads of inner fullness and need lots of space at the gore, you may not get along with this bra. The same is true with those whom have ample amounts of outer fullness, although you may find this bra puts all that outer fullness front and center. I wanted more from this bra, but alas, it just barely fits.

Wonderful everyday bra; bought it in three sizes when I was figuring out what size I am, turns out I'm more of a 30D/32C.

The top of the cups is nice and open, and I love the lift and shape they give me. Good side support. Plus Maddies just feel good on me - like a nice boob hug.

With this bra, for the first time in my life, I had grapefruit boobs. It was kind of amazing.

Anyway, I really liked most things about this bra - the band is nice and firm, the straps are supple (though on the short side) and the cups fit just about perfectly. The fabric on the cups and band is luxurious and I keep feeling them (this is, however, a personal problem). The button detail on the gore is absolutely adorable and the gore is high and narrow just the way I like it. The wings are also higher than usual, which is really nice, and the firm, narrow wires feel ... really great against my ribcage.

I'm not a fan of moulding or padding and this bra has both, but it's something I'm willing to live with. The thing I might not be so willing to live with is the gaping at the outer edges of the cups which appear unless I shove my shoulders way back. I've heard other Maddie styles are more closed on top so I'm thinking about looking into those.

I love the feeling of having grapefruit boobs for once, it's very fun, but I prefer having a constant Apparent Boob Size on a day to day basis, so back it goes.

Love "constant Apparent Boob Size"!!! (can we call it ABS? Because I would also love constant abs... lol). I swear I try on 6 or 8 different bras each morning to find the one that's going to look perfect under whatever shirt I'm wearing. Front and center and rounded? Front and center and natural? A little bit of cleavage? A lot of bit of cleavage? Plunge or low cut? East-westy? Minimized profile? Too many choices!

    • Yeah, I once commented that, while sometimes I mourn that lack of choices in my size, otoh at least I really dont have to spend much time thinking about it!

Used to put on the old beige bra then decide on clothing, now with pretty bra choices, I have to decide what to wear to match the bra I want to wear lol. It's nice to have too many choices now! Although getting dressed takes me longer now...

I'm really sad this bra doesn't fit me, as I love the shape it gives.
Unfortionately the band was huge on me (it stretched to 31"). But the cup seemed like a good volume. After I altered the band (now stretches to 28.75") the band is good, but the cups are way too small!

This bra seems great for shallow breasts with wide roots, as long as you have at least even tissue on top and bottom -- if not FOT. The quality of the bra seems very good; the material is sturdy and soft. It seems that the band runs true to size. I like the shape this gives, and I'm sad that it doesn't fit my body shape just a little better. Definitely recommend trying, although it definitely requires you having a very particular shape.

my shape: even/slightly fob, shallow, wide root, close set.
update: i bought a 28DD whose wires are wider and better for my shape. i just wanted to like the quad/large boob effect of the 28D so badly that i ignored the fit issues.
summary: even though there are several minor fit issues, i love this bra for catering to my shape better than 28D - Cleo » Juna Balconnet Bra (6461) did.

as people have already said, this is a great bra for shallow boobs. i bought this off of amazon after returning the juna 28D. unlike the juna, the maddie gives me uplift, so much ... so that i quad-boob barely. i prefer this supported look over the juna's gaping cups so woo!!

the gore is a little too wide for me, but it still tacks. the wires come up to the armpit at a steep slope, and cuts me off. i will have to try this in a 28DD and look for other models with wider wires.

while i wouldn't ditto the other reviews calling the fabric "razor sharp," i agree that this bra isn't delicate. this is not a bra you'll forget that you're wearing. maybe it will soften after some washes.

wide straps, as usual per cleo.

This is the first bra that I've gotten that fits me, soooooo I'm pretty excited right now haha. Was a little worried that the cups wouldn't be wide enough, but they are. If the center gore were like .25 in wider it would be 100% perfect, but it's definitely acceptable. The band fits me rather snugly on the loosest hook for the first time, which is cool. I do get a little bit of underarm fat, but nothing crazy or unacceptable and I expect that that will diminish after a few wears. Overall very pleased. The only other thing is that since ... it is a molded bra and isn't full coverage, you can see a bit of a line through a tight top. And if I tighten the straps I start to have minor quadboob which makes the line more visible. But I think that this is to be expected considering the foam lining and the cut and it's totally not a big deal since there's no gapping. I think it's really pretty too! I generally go for black since most of my wardrobe is, but that can get a little boring. I like that it has the subtle stripe detail, lace edging and button in the middle. Very cute! Will definitely be purchasing the matching undies if they're still in stock when I get paid again...

EDIT: 24 hours later I am still pleased with look and fit of the bra but have to say that the comfort (or lack thereof) is absolutely appalling. I think that this may partially be due to the fact that I'm probably more of a 30 than a 28, but considering that my underbust measures at 27.5 comfortably snug I'm not quite sure. The band itself is alright, but the underwires on the center gore dig in painfully. I didn't notice it last night (after the first day of wear) but when I went to put it on again today it immediately hurt. I wish that the casing or gore were a little more lined. As I said, I think that perhaps I need a 30, but this also might be because I have a fairly bony rib cage and therefore little padding of my own in that area.

Cup runs slightly small (which is great if you're in between 28C & 28D). My favorite bra at the moment and my only 28 band. Slight gapping in certain positions and have to re scoop & swoop once in a while since it's a moulded bra.

I had high hopes for this bra because I heard that it runs small-ish and is good for shallow boobs, but unfortunately this did not work at all. It seems I have a same problem as the other reviewer that I don't enough tissue at the top. The measurement suggests that it should fit, if not quadboob. Yet I get a massive gaping at the top...
Other than the cups, I thought the band felt pretty normal for a 28. The outside of the cups was smooth and did not show through. It would be a great T-shirt bra if it fits.
