The Lucy is my best feeling bra next to my Kali. I believe they are supposedly the same cut. As with all Panache and especially Cleo bras, the band runs at least one size small, so size up one band. I do not see or feel much of a difference in the cup on the 38E over the 36E. It certainly does not feel like a whole cup larger, maybe 1/2 cup size up -- good for the five pound up times. The quality is superb. The lace on the top of the cup does not stay stiff or itchy past its second wash.
I've had this bra for while, not sure why I hadn't added/reviewed it! The bra is beautiful.. delicate and lacy, very feminine. I found this at the beginning of my "bra journey" on sale on Amazon for a great price. The quality is good, comfort is okay, but the fit is not ideal. My boobs are round and FOT.. this bra has more of a pointy shape which doesn't work well for me... this also causes the top of the cup to dig in a bit (slight quad-boob effect). The band is a little tight, but not unbearable. This isn't the type of bra that I'd wear regularly... for me it's more of a "date night" bra... a little something sexy that doesn't have to necessarily stay on for prolong periods of time lol.
I will post pictures when I have a chance, but for now.... This is my second Cleo bra and will most likely be my last. This bra introduces all sorts of issues that I've either never encountered before or never encountered to this extent. The first issue is the gore. It is both fairly tall and fairly wide. I do generally prefer wider and taller gores, and generally my issue is that they're too short. This bra has a combination of width and height that is too much for me however. My next issue is with the straps. For the first time ever, I have found a bra where the ...straps don't adjust long enough for me. As a result, the band rides up pretty substantially. Since the band rides up so much (and also due to the underwire setup which makes it hard to try the bra on backwards) I can't really evaluate the fit of the band. But it doesn't feel tight despite the fact that it isn't level, so it may be just a little bit big. The biggest issue however is with the cups. They underwires are quite tall and would probably poke me in the armpit if it weren't for the fact that the wires are so wide that they go all the way to the back of my ribcage (which makes armpit poking a nonissue). The fabric of the cup however does rub at my armpits because the wings are fairly tall. The cup itself has a little bit of gaping at the top on the left side and a lot on the right side in a neutral position. When I pull my shoulders back, the left side lays pretty flat while the right side still has a bit of gaping. It's really hard to say if this is due to a size or shape issue though simply because of how many issues I have with the shape. Read more 213 more words
I'm not usually one for bright colors, but the vibrant purple and splash of pink are really cute. The mesh is weirdly soft! I noticed that it completely lacks side boning, which feels a little weird and sad, but I don't think it affects fit in my case.
The fit is eh-more-or-less-okay. The wires are a smidge wide and the wings are lower than I'd like, and there's a hint of extra space up top, but it's comfy and supportive and the wrinkles dont show under clothes so I don't mind the mild wrinkling at all. The band is nicely snug around my currently 26" or so ribcage even though the numbers say that it stretches all the way to nearly 31", probably thanks to the type of elastic or something.
I'm not entirely sure what's going on with this one. The band fits great. The gore is lower than my Cleo Lily, which is a huge relief. Surprisingly, the cup is perfect on my right boob and wrinkly on my left. I thought any size difference between my boobs was negligible but I guess Lucy doesn't think so. The cups also feel like they're just a tiny bit too wide. [Edit: this is negligible.] Regardless, it's comfortable and seems like a decent enough fit, so I will be keeping this one.
Edit: or maybe not. I got another Lucy in 28D which is a better compromise for both boobs imo, with only the slightest quad on the right.
Edit 2: Actually, I'm not sure about that anymore. The 28D is fine on my left boob and quads on the right. The 28DD is fine on my right boob and wrinkles on the left. Which one fits better overall seems to vary by time of month so I might just keep both.
The cup size is a perfect fit. It was a bit scratchy when it was new, but softened up nicely after a few washes. Band is a bit tight, but this is by far the best fitting bra I've had yet, so I'm wearing it anyways. One minor downside is it seems to have a bit of a minimizing effect, and the band likes to work its way down throughout the day. I think the lower projection may be a bit too low. Overall the fit is ok though!
My first bra bought at my first real fitting - trial, error, and Victoria's Secret had me wearing bras with gussets an inch from my sternum that, somehow, also managed to cut bleeding welts into me unless I sewed padding along the band. After a few frustrating rounds with the internet and a tape measure, I drove two hours to Dallas and hoped they knew what they were doing.
I left my old 36DDD (hahahahaha) behind in the boutique's trashcan and walked out wearing this! My mind was blown. I honestly didn't believe that it would ever be possible for a gore to sit on my sternum, and yet! ...My boobs were not only facing forward, but I looked much narrower. I used to be very self-conscious about the way my chest's width overwhelmed my petite figure, but it suddenly looked like just an average chest.
The internet had told me to expect some discomfort as I adjusted to this new, tighter band, so I tried to tough it out as my new bra's band cut into my sides and left angry red marks on my torso that lasted for hours after it came off. I told myself that tissue would migrate or the bra would stretch out... rookie mistake.
And therein lies the learning experience - I'd finally found such a thing as too tight! I got a bra extender, so I still wear this model, but the next time I bought a Lucy, I ordered a band size up. Here's where it gets weird. I bought a white Lucy on which the cups ran small, so I ended up in a 34FF. But then I bought a red Lucy, and the 34FF cups were a size too big.
This is a great bra that does NOT quit. I should have worn it out four times over by now, but it's still just as taught as when I bought it. Don't expect this one to loosen up, because it won't.
Also expect the cup size to vary between colors. The bands seem consistently too-snug, but the cups seem to be pretty random, within a 2 cup size range. Read more 247 more words
It fits!! This is the first bra I've gotten that actually fits without any need for alteration! Plus, I really like the rounded shape it gives me, and the color is an awesome electric blue (Malibue Blue).
