    Didn't fit

So...I picked up this bra in an effort to get free shipping with my purchase. I originally wanted the Neve Plunge but that one was double the price. I hopped on over here and found a 30:4 should fit measurement wise. Bought it was.
I have heard SO much hype, ALL THE HYPE, about Cleo bras from women in my size range. Perhaps my expectations were skewed because of this because I feel very "meh" about the Cleo Jude bra.
It's a 30 band. So, it's too big for me. It is comfy on the second and third hook, so it's ... definitely more taught then most 30 band bras I have tried. The wires started warping once I stretched the band all the way to 29". Which is great for a day when I need to be very active or if there ever is a day when I just can't tolerate a tight band. I don't really PMS become bloated so those things don't matter a whole lot to me.
The straps are SHORT. Like so short. I'm pretty short (Five feet even) and I wanted more length. They're about 14.25 inches long fully let out. They're not soft, but not rough either. They're decently wide, stretchy and quite supple feeling. Certainly more than tolerable (unlike other bras: Limited Edition by M&S!). They did seem to stretch out as time went on and I stopped feeling them at all.
The Gore. I can't feel it at all. I actually don't remember if it tacked or not. I'm thinking it was a soft-tack. I believe plunge gores are best for me because my sternum starts above where the band of the bra site. The gore is also deceiving in it's width, it does not look like there is a whole lot of separation between the cups; but there's well over an inch. Great for wide set breasts. Not great for making cleavage.
Speaking of cleavage, I quad out tremendously after putting on the bra. The very bottom of the cup also collapsed under my breasts due to the cup being too shallow. At which point I tugged on the top of the cup while simultaneously pushing the under wire up to my IMF. As my ten hour shift progressed the cups seemed to stretch out and allow my tissue to settle inside if the cup.
These are the softest under wires I have come across. I hardly noticed them. They're too wide for me and I kept feeling the need to adjust/pull my tissue "back into the cup"/to the front of my chest even though my breast was fully enclosed in the cup. The molded cup was surprisingly thin, soft and supple.
While the cups being molded, definitely give a rounded shape I'm not in love with the shape the bra gives me. I like a nice lifted, gathered, rounded shape that enhances my breast as opposed to just a round, wide shape.
I mark this bra as a win for me. It's great for giving my body a rest from rigid under wire's, Gore's and tight bands. A comfort bra for very active times.
I think a 28DD would be better for me over all. A tighter band, probably more cleavage (a 28D for super cleavage maybe?) and narrower wires. I could probably get a 28E to get a similar result to the look of this 30D with a tighter band.

    • Darn. Like you, this bra would push out of mt IMF, too.

Fortunately Love4Pollinators the under wires and fabric are so comfortable I hardly notice during wear, or perhaps it's just because the band is loose.

    • That's good news :-) A loose band helps so much sometimes. It is the reason many of my bras are 36 bands when I measure 28.

I'm hoping that the non-moulded cup Cleo's will give me that very lifted, rounded shape I hear so much about. I fear most Cleo bras will be too wide and shallow for me. I only have 'average'/some projection...but I'm very center / inner full so I think this makes it difficult for me to wear very shallow bras. It also seems my sweet spot for wire width is 4.5". Much smaller and it sits on tissue, much larger and it doesn't gather and push my breast forward.

    Fits

A 30D felt like a longshot to me for fit, but I ordered it because AMZ was having a huge sale and offering free returns on the 30D, but not the 28D. Also, reviewers' consensus was that the fit was a bit small. Well, the bra does fit, with the exception of there being a small gap in the top of the cup on my smaller side-- fixable with a cookie and besides, this bra is like a bulletproof thing that stands up by itself so it's entirely unnoticeable. Also, the wires are wider than they need to be in that they go about 1/2" ... around the outside of my roots under the arm. This is actually comfortable and not at all a problem-- the cup is so shallow that there is really no gap in between cup and skin there. Lastly, I only could get the band to stretch out to 28.5 inches (maybe I don't pull hard enough on these things?) and am super glad I did not order the 28D, because this bra on the middle hook on my 27" ribcage is actually painful. (It's fine on the loosest hook, just as it should be.)

Looks like this model is being discontinued, but between now and then, these should be able to be obtained pretty cheaply on AMZ. This one (black with pink) was $14 US. My first impression of the bra was that it was clumsy, hard, and likely to give a bad shape under clothing. But after messing around with it and realizing I was wearing it too low, causing spillage on top (even with my shallow top) and a gap in the bottom of the cup, I simply moved the bra up and it fit fine. I think after a little breaking in I might like this one. This is my first Cleo so I don't know how the sizing compares to other Cleos, but both the cups and band seem to me to run small on this bra. Generally speaking the cup is shallow, good for wide roots and also good for shallow on top girls.

Update: I've had this bra about a week now. After writing the review and entering the measurements, Admin wrote me to ask me to double-check the cup width; at 5.2 it seemed too wide. I remeasured and got 5.2 again, but realized that the wire on the bra might be stretched out, because the fit I was getting was wide (going past my roots, as noted above) and shallow. So, I squished the underwires together a little so they would not be so wide and the cup would be a bit deeper, and --voila! the bra went from something I'd decided to return because of an unflattering (flat) fit to a bra I needed to quickly order another of, because it fit perfectly. I have adjusted the "new" cup width to 5.0. Since this bra has been further reduced to $10, ordering a second one was an easy decision-- I now very much like the fit on me. It looks great under most tee shirts, unfortunately the bright magenta trim shows on thinner ones but other than that the bra is great. The second one arrives day after tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see if it measures the same.

More stuff: since commenting that I though the bra would be good for shallow-on-top ladies, I visited the abrathatfits website and looked at breast shapes and decided that far and away mine resembled the center pic --2/5-- so maybe I am not actually shallow on top after all but even. So please take that with a grain of salt.

Also: this might be a little overkill since the bra is about to be discontinued, but differences were noted in the reviews on the website between bras made in China and those made in Thailand (those being made in China tending to run smaller in the cups). This bra was made in Thailand.

The 30DD is only $9, so I sent my baby sis-- an augmented 28/33 cup size up from my natural 27/32-- an email telling her to GET ONE, though as she is probably more of a half globe now (I haven't actually seen her nekkid), this bra might not work on her. I also have yet to convince her to move down to 30 bands, even after giving her a 32D b'tempted balcony and her raving about the fit. Maybe these things take time? She is still freaking out that her "new C's" are actually D's or DD's. Hopefully she'll get over the sticker shock soon.

09/28-- second bra arrived. It measures exactly the same as the first one after I messed with the wires, save the band is 1/2" shorter unstretched. It also arrived in an obviously new bag with actual balled up paper in the cups (why don't they do this all the time?). So I think the first bra had already been tried on by someone and they somehow managed to distort the wires. These two match so exactly I cannot tell them apart.

So, I just tried the Cleo Neve in 30DD, which was huge on me; I would have thought that the Jude in 30D would be the right size. But no: everything was too small on this bra. The band is too tight, the straps won't extend long enough, and the cups come in at the top to produce an impressive quad-boob. It's otherwise a cute bra, and I wish it fit.

I really wanted to love this bra. The low plunge, the nearly non-existent gore, the fantastic color...but alas, this is not to be. I've never considered myself to be particularly full on top, but the quad-boobing with these cups is ludicrous. The cups simply curve in too steeply at the top edge for anyone with even a small measure of fullness center top. This bra would probably work great for someone with splayed or wide set breasts. The band also runs large; I was easily able to stretch it to 31" for a 30 band. I considered trying a 28E, but when I checked other assessments it seems like they only make the width of the cup bigger, and that much is just right in this size, if nothing else is. As a warning, I have a petite torso and I needed to extend the straps as far as they possibly could go for this bra. If you have an average or longer length from nape to apex, these straps are way too short.

Unfortunately this bra was too small in the cups for me. I'm between a D and DD cup and this one seemed almost more like a 30C to me.

Is a very cute bra, and looks like it would be great under t-shirts. It's just too small in the cup.

This bra suprised me. Plunge styles are often a fail on me but this is a great fit. It's a *very* comfy bra to wear. In fact I liked it so much I bought a couple of them. I get a bit of quad boob on my bigger side after scooping but if I give the girls a bit of a jiggle everything settles into the cup nicely.

The moulding is a little thicker than I would like but I can live with it. They look smooth under t-shirts and the bra is often advertised as a t-shirt bra, but they all come in bright colour combos ... so will be very visible under light coloured shirts. Ok if you are doing the underwear as outerwear thing I guess!

I'm going to have to revise this review, after several weeks I found that this bra just didn't wear well and some minor issues became a very big problem because of it. The band felt stretchier than normal in this bra and I should have tried the 28 instead. As soon as the bra started to stretch I had massive quadboobs and the center gore was pulling away from my chest. Bringing the bra in to a tighter hook brought the gore back in but there is just no escaping the quadboob problem. My measurements haven't changed so I think the band starting to stretch just highlighted the fact that the fit wasn't quite right to begin with.

I now think a size 28 e or f would probably be closer to the right size for me but I've just decided not to bother as I think in a larger cup I am going to have way too much bra in the underarm area and this is just the wrong style of bra for me. When I compare this to my Panache porcelain which is also a moulded bra I can see that the Jude has a much flatter, shallower cup - which is generally what I need but in this case it seems to be too much of a good thing. The Jude is moulded from a much thicker foam which is also probably contributing to the problem as it seems like there is less room in the bra as a result.
