Lovely bra! Blake is reminiscent of both Cleo Lily and Marcie as far as having a nice amount of room for bottom projection and a decently open cup edge. It gives a pretty and uplifted round shape, which I love. The fabric is super soft and comfortable, as well as fairly seamless under shirts. The band isn't necessarily too big, so much that it's just very very stretchy, as are the straps and other components of the bra. Like most Cleo bras, I'm not bowled over by the design and color scheme (though I do love the tiny leopard print bow) but Blake makes up for it with her fantastic shaping power https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Overall I'm extremely happy with this bra considering the fact that I purchased it at a steep discount.
I'm seconding the comment re: surprise over others' comments that it runs large in the cup. I accidentally sized up even 1 more cup from my small sister size (normally wear 32G, so I should've bought a 30GG rather than H), and I still noticeably quad on my larger size, while it fits perfectly on the other. However, I suspect that's partly either from my need for even more immediate projection, or because I'm a little high set. The cup depth isn't bad, but the wire still slips down a little (this is most of my bras for me though), so I lose some ...of the space my boob should be fitting into. Once I hike it back up, the quadding lessens. Barring that, I like the shape. It's surprisingly the most pointy shape I've ever gotten from a Cleo, but not torpedo-like and it actually looks great with fitted shirts. Dare I say, it even has a slight minimizing effect?? The band is fine as a 30 for me (my btt underbust is 29.5, snug at 31.5) but I may still wear it with the extender. A little itchy at the gore/underwire channels too, but hopefully that will soften with washing. Also, I have to say, I think this is my favorite Cleo design. It's the perfect level of girly/sporty with the monochrome mesh. Read more 121 more words
I have to say I'm not really a pink person. The fabric of this bra is really weird. It feels cheap and I'm not sure how well it will wear. The leopardskin bow on the front is going to have to come off. But all that aside, I am going to keep this bra because it is the best fitting bra I have worn for years. I just hope it wears ok.
This bra was so close to ABTF for me! It feels great with comfortable fabric, has decently narrow wires, the band was fine despite being my smaller sister size. The white strip at the top may cut into very FOT + tall rooted breasts, but it was just about okay for me (regular FOT + even root height).
There were just two dealbreakers for me on this one, there wasn't enough immediate projection in the cup for my fussy chest, so the wire happily slid 1-2cm down my chest in a matter of minutes, aided by the stretchy shoulder straps. Also the fabric is -just- transparent enough for my areolas to be visible, but enough to make me self-conscious about it.
Stretches to 35" in a 32 band. Shoot me. Gorgeous, wonderfully fitting cups, soft materials, fit between Cleo Marcie and Cleo Lily - lots of depth at the bottom of the cup but more open than Lily. But it's just too damn big. What a shame. With a bra stretching 3" bigger than it should be I consider it a serious quality issue.
Shape: round, projected, even, close set, on the narrow end of average root width.
I tried this in my usual size, 30E - Cleo » Blake Balconnet Bra (9151), and left a detailed review. I ordered this one before I wrote the 30E review and realized that my fit issues were primarily due to band being way too stretchy and NOT the cup size being too big. Cup is definitely too small (gore won't tack) and the band is just as ridiculously stretchy as the 30E I tried. Fingers crossed that the 28F is the *one true fit* in this bra for me!
Bra friends, sister size down in the turquoise colorway if you like a firm band! I've heard rumors that the cerise also has a stretchy band, so keep that in mind as well when shopping deals on the dc'd colorway https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
I ordered this bra in a sister size of 34F as the other Cleo bras I have tried had a firmer band. The band on this bra is very VERY stretchy. In order for me to get a decent fit in the cups, I had to use the tightest hook settings straight away - which would leave no room for stretch from wear.
Other than that - very cute supportive bra. The material is somewhat see through but soft. The top edge of the cup did not cut in nor gape on me.
I will be sending this bra back and exchanging it for my regular size (32FF).
I'm really surprised by how many people are saying this bra runs large in the cup. I'm slightly FOT, but not by much. Marcie fits me perfectly, but the Blake in the same size fits weird. It wants to cut in at the top, but then the front (just the front) slips down...I think maybe it's because it's stretchier and the band between the cups stretches wider? IDK. It seems a lot better if I pinch the fabric there. I might try to sew it later on, because I didn't notice any of this until wearing it out, so I can't exchange it at this point.
BUT the fabric is super comfy and the style is very pretty. I think it gives an overall good shape despite the weird slippage issue. It seems like in addition to being slightly more closed on top than the Marcie, it's cut a little lower, and the band runs larger/stretchier than most cleo bras.
