I picked up a few random bra-sized bikini tops at the end of last season, but I didn't have the best of luck finding something I really liked. I got really lucky recently and found this style through one of my regular eBay sellers, and he was selling two different versions of the Hattie in a complete set! I ended up purchasing both, but I received this one first. I am so happy with it!
This is one of my first bandeau bikini tops, and it fits so much better than the traditional unstructured tube top. When I first got it, I looked at the ...cups and instantly worried it was going to be disastrously big. However, this is an optical illusion, since the front of the bikini hides the underwire cups, so the cups are not as large as they appear. It fits me perfectly! The 28 band is perfectly snug and stays in place even without the straps.
The cups are actual about the same size and depth as the B. Tempt'd by Wacoal Ciao Bella in 30DD, but the wires are longer and the cup height is taller. The wire shape is taller than most Cleo wires, which are typically a bit short and shallow. I am very pleased with the fit of this bikini top and ordered a few more styles to try. If you are able to still find this, I'd highly recommend giving it a try.
In terms of bottoms, I tried the side-tie bottom in S, but my normal size is XS. S is definitely a size too big, though the side-tie version can be adjusted. I'd order your normal bra size for the top and your normal size in the bottom. Read more 190 more words
Fits well, and overall looks very nice. I like the style and the colorway a lot! Please excuse the dorky bottoms I'm wearing in the photos... Back fastener is a swimsuit style non-adjustable clip, not rows of hooks/eyes.
Pretty comfortable and flattering for a bandeau, but I wish they'd included strap attachment points at the back so you could wear the straps crossback as well as halter. The band is firm enough to provide support, but the whole thing feels kind of heavy and makes me fear it would slip down — not saying it *would*, just that I'd be paranoid while wearing it. Also, the firmness of the band creates flesh rolls at my back/sides that I find unappealing, but a looser band would probably not feel very secure.
I thought that because I wear 28DD in Cleo Juna & Cleo Jude that I might be able to fill out a 30D swimsuit top by Cleo/Panache. This was not the case. Sadly just too big. The pattern was very cute, and the suit was on sale. Too bad I had to return it. The small bikini bottoms fit like a loose UK 8 or a tight UK 10. I'm somewhere between a UK 6/UK 8 in bottoms/pant sizing, so the bottoms were also loose. The suit did seem to be well-made.
This one looks so much better in person than on the website!!
I wore it as a '30' band for a while, but decided it wasn't working. Before going on holiday, I altered the band down to what turned out to be a sub-28. At first I thought I overdid that, but after the first dip in the water it now fits like a dream. The straps are fairly useless, I don't even bother with them any more.
Don't attempt diving into a pool with this bikini though. The bottoms (tie-side) don't stay put very well, as is common with these types of bottoms. Neither does the top, ...if you dive. I've swum with it fine otherwise, and I've also swum with it in the sea and exited with my bikini still on.
Also: I did not alter this because it stretched out much. I alterered it because it was too big to start with, and now it stretch to fit. So: not too much stretch. Definitely quality stuff, unlike the Freya bikini's I've had that wouldn't even survive one measly holiday of 5 days. Read more 78 more words
