Most bras have straps that are too wide-set for me and too wide/high of a gore. This is my perfect bra for support, fit, and shape. This is my second time buying the Rive Gauche -- I also have it in the 34E (US) and that band is a little too tight now that I've put my nursing bras away and brought my normal ones back out, so I went up a size and I'm confident I will love this one too!
FIRST IMPRESSION: It does not really fit me, but because of the stretchy top of cup, the quadboob effect is lessened. I will wear it until I migrate more and need a bigger cup size.
Wires are too narrow, but they do not poke. Surprisingly comfortable, even though it's not the right cup size. Straps are wonderfully placed. When I can afford this bra in a larger cup size, I will purchase it.
AFTER A DAY OF WEARING: Ugh. Very uncomfortable for me. Wires WAY too narrow and painful. By the end of the day: bottom of wire 1/2-inch to 1 inch under my breast, cuts in at least an inch into my sideboob, tilts upward so bottom curve of wire is away from breast and center gore DIGS like there is no tomorrow. Very wrong cup size - holds bottom of wire away from body. Band - rides up in back
I really like the way this bra fits my boobs in the cups. My only problem with it is that I have to use an extender with it and it fits me fine even though it is not a sister size of my normal 40D/38E . And this is one well made bra. I would for recomend Rive Gauche and Chantelle in general to my friends.
This is my most comfortable bra. I wish it had some side support, but the fit is better than any other I own. I sometimes get bothered by the high gore, especially after wearing some other, ill-fitting bra that really bother my breast tissue at the gore.
This bra is terrible on my slope breasts. It was both gapping at the top and corners while giving quadraboob. The bra itself (the mesh) also gave me quadraboob. I would not recommend.
Overall a good fit, but without much margin for expansion in the cups. The band is made of a comfortable smooth fabric and is quite stretchy. I am wearing it on the tightest hook to allow room for my ribcage to expand during my pregnancy. The center gore is lower than most bras and sits against my sternum, but I do feel some pressure there. Gives a nice uplifted shape that isn't too pointy or spherical.
Edit: After wearing for a few hours at home, I decided the cups were in fact too small for me. They do cut into the top of my breasts giving some quadboob, especially when I scoop and swoop. I returned this bra.
This bra has molded cups made of a single layer of sturdy fabric. It has side boning as well. The colour is closer to a taupe than a beige. Especially if compared to other beige bras which tend to be more on the yellowish side, this tone will probably suit skin tones which, like me, find the yellowish beige to be unflattering. The band is very angled, you can see this when the bra is lying flat, the band tends to go downwards. This will probably fit well for those who have a very V-shaped torso, less so on a more straight torso. The materials seem to be very good quality, as is to be expected from Chantelle. Since the bra is not for me, I cannot judge the comfort or fit.
This bra is very cute and I love the way it looks but unfortunately for me it doesn't fit me well in the cups. It's a really well made bra, it's just that the cups do not fit my boobs with a lot of loose material on the sides. Also the cups aren't quite "full" enough for my liking. Other than that, it's a cool bra.
This bra is beautiful. I bought it for Christmas two years ago and had to go up a sister size since they were sold out of mine, but it was completely worth it because I adored the way it looked. This is definitely a more special occasion bra for me. My only complaint is that because of the style of the lacing, it'll show under anything with thin straps or a wide neckline. It fits loosely since I sized up and since my band size has decreased since I bought but I still wear it when I want to feel extra special.
This bra is comfortable to wear. Has some 'squeaking' from the underwires which is embarrassing. The straps are split from the top of the shoulder to the cup which makes for a prettier strap but I'm wondering how they will hold up.
First specialty shop purchase from a pro bra fitter. Fits well, comfortable to wear, chafes a bit around the armpit / strap attachment but might break in a bit. Overall a quality bra, but a bit matronly looking. I could learn to love it.
I loved this bra when it was the right size for me. It fit great. I never gave it a thought during the day. The fabric was comfortable against my skin. Unfortunately, it no longer fits as I recently lost some weight.
