I purchased this bra in a 70F after having luck with it in a 70G while pregnant. Unfortunately the band is on the big side and rides up. I’ll wear this around the house and on days I’m retaining water during that time of the month. It is very comfortable despite the band not fitting well.
oh the Rive gauche was my all time favorite in that size range. I agree the band is stretchy and I think they had a problem with quality control: when shopping for my very first one at Nordstrom, when i was 70G also, I got the saleswoman to bring me several 70Gs cos I had noticed differences while trying on, and within the SAME colorway, across a sample of four 70Gs, there was a difference of more than an inch in the unstretched band!!! Anyway, in terms of managing the ride-up, I notice in these photos that you have some indents on your shoulders from the straps despite obviously not being a fluffy person, so to me that suggests you could likely loosen them a lot and this would probably mitigate the problem. It also does exist in 65 band, just a matter of unearthing one!

Last Friday I had a few hours to myself while my mom and aunt were visiting one of the local attractions as part of their package tour coming here. So I went to the only specialty lingerie shop in town to see if they would remeasure me so I could see how it was compared with my calculations (spoilers: she didn’t measure me...she trusted my knowledge and evaluated the fits on what I was trying on) as well as possibly try on bras in the said sizes, and I also wanted to try a few sports bras on again, including Anita which was suggested that I knew that ...they had and larger cup sizes in the Chantelle sports bra (this one I’ll be reviewing soon) because the had tried a 65F over the summer and it felt like maybe the cup was too small and I was not able to try anything else.
This review is going to be for both the 65G and the 70F as I liked both of them for different reasons. For some reason, I don’t have as many pictures of the 70F on as I do the 65G or the 65F from the summer.
To clarify, the black bra is the 65G, but I have tried the light grey in both the 65F and 70F. For the purpose of this review, I will only be focusing on the 65G and 70F as I had previously thought the 65F was a little bit small, and that was 4-5 months ago when I was smaller than I am now.
I really love the shape and feeling of this style. It feels more secure and supportive than the Anita compression bras, though I will say it feels like it is a bit heavier than them.
Both sizes felt good in the cups and measured between 9-9.5”. I feel like one was closer to 9 and the other was closer to 9.5”, but as sister sizes they should have a comparable depth, so I’m going with 9.5” with both. I think that it’s maybe better to overestimate than under in this style of bra.
My biggest problem deciding which of the two is best is the band. On the 65G, the band was quite snug. Comfortably snug, but I was concerned that it might feel too tight after activity or in the summer with the heat. The 70F was definitely looser and I was easily able to get the hooks in the middle down up comfortably. For whatever reason, the fitter thought that it was the best first of the two despite being sister sizes.
So, the 65G is a little bit snug, and concerns are whether heat or activity swelling is going to cause it to be uncomfortable. That said, if I had it now and was wearing it inside for basic stuff, it’s possible that it would fit looser (loose enough) by summer.
The 70F felt good in the middle hooks which means that if I felt swollen, I would have room to let it out.
I’m not sure which size is the better size to choose. I did try another one in a cup up the fitter thought that it was too big in the cups.
As the bras are quite pricey, I don’t know if I would go for it or stick with the equivalent size in Panache or Fit Fully Yours since they are all about the same shape and style.
I’m open to feedback for others about the sizing. A word about my activity...will probably be walking (walking for the purpose of walking, so not strolling walking), the occasional jog if my ankle is not bothering me, and maybe light exercising at home. Read more 512 more words
That sounds like a fun bra investigating outing! These 2 look pretty similar in the pictures. I am not sure if it is a trick of the light, color, or even the way you are holding your arm, but it seems to me like the black 65G might be a little closer fitting to your breasts, in a good way. I personally like snugger sports bras, but for mainly lower impact activities like walking I dont think that is as important. Overall I would say go with the one that you wouldn't mind putting on. If you feel like the 65G is so tight that you are going to dislike wearing it, then go with the 70 :) Or go with either of these sizes that you can find on sale :)
No, I felt like that too, I felt like I preferred the 65G but was too worried that it would be too tight once I got active.
This bra was the first bra I was fitted into, and it is a little big for me. I had bra shock when I went to the store, going from La Senza's 36D-DD to 32E. Since these purchases I've realized that I'm actually a 30F but with the exception of my having to use the bra on the second hook, these bras are my absolute favourite!
They are on the pricier end of the spectrum- I bought the black one for $120CDN in a brick and mortar store, but found the nude one on eBay for $30USD. I really love this bra, and would recommend it to anyone! It fits beautifully, makes me look amazing, and I feel so awesome with it on.
Note: Entire cup is lined in this size. The upper panel is not more sheer, although there is some see-through for the cups. Overall quality of the fabric doesn't seem as nice as most Chantelles, although the wing fabric is very strong. The fit is also not as nice as I'm used to with them. Great support, but the cups seemed to be straining a little bit, so a cup size up would have been better. The band runs smaller than other Chantelle bras I've tried, and felt right about right for my 28"-ish underbust. My main objection was to the underwires. The shape was strange and made ...too deep a U, which meant that my breasts couldn't quite sit at the bottom and the wires dug under my arm. The center portions of the wires also ran too high to press into my sternum, and caused too much space between the cups. Why I love this bra: - it has a very open cut, compared to most of the bras I see in my size (32DDD american/70F european size) - it's comfortable! the lace band is attractive and doesn't dig in anywhere. - it has removable booster pads, if you want a sexy cleavage look, keep them in, if you need a little more room in the cup (like I do) take them out, and the bra still looks great. - it looks better on me than it does on the models on the website! I feel like it's made just to make my boobs look better, while being comfortable and fairly ...supportive, which is something I have never felt about a bra before. Why I don't love this bra more: - This may be just because of the shape of my body/the fact that I should probably be wearing a 30F but it seems like the cups should be closer together. It almost feels like my breasts aren't round enough for it... if that makes sense. - It's not great under a thinner/tighter shirt, the lace is too bumpy. - with the cookies in, I get some double boob. without the cookies in, they still seem to want to pop out, but again this may be the fact that the cups seem too far apart as opposed to the cups actually being too small. Oh HAPPY DAY!!!! I am SO GLAD I decided to give this bra a try! I was seriously on the brink of giving up on "unlined" bras, and swore they just were not meant for my shape. And, alas, Chantelle to the rescue!! Every other single unlined bra I have tried just did not fit right and they ALL gave me pointy boobs! I just assumed that was the look unlined bras gave. But I absolutely LOVE this bra! It gives my girls such an awesome, round, natural-looking shape and I can actually wear this bra under any shirt! It gives nice projection, too (unlike my Cleo Lucy ...which seemed to minimize the girls and flatten the sides). The band was the only issue I had, but that was expected since I normally wear a 28/30 and this was a 32. The back did start riding up a bit, and I had to tighten the straps to prevent the cups from wrinkling. I could def use a 30F in this one. But I can still wear this one. I still love this bra! This bra is a good strapless bra for smaller busted women. I've had it for months now, but I still prefer to wear my ill-fitting 34DD strapless from La Senza because of the shape that this bra gives me. I like boobs a little in your face, after all, I have them, why not show them off! This bra minimizes my bust which is nice, but not something that I am entirely attracted to.
It comes with these GIANT thick straps. I've honestly never seen straps as wide as these (with the exception being Effuniak's comfort straps). They're meant for multi-way use, so if you have a halter you can use the bra as such.
Much like the Sensuo bra, this one has support ribbons in the cups and a good deal of silicone ribbons to keep the bra in place.
If my breasts were a little smaller, and I preferred a different shape, this bra would be great! Even so, it's just a backup until my Wonderbra ultimate strapless comes in.
Marked on label as a US 32ddd, UK 32 E, and EUR 70F. In reality, it definitely fits like a US/ UK 34 band. Cup size runs slightly less than a size small- it fits pretty close to a US 32dd in the cup. On the plus side, it really is a beautiful bra and is extremely comfortable. The cups are spaced closer together than what is typical on a 32ddd, so it gives me a much more rounded shape than usual. On the negative size is it's not at all true to size ( a problem I seem to have with all of Chantelle's bras.) While the quality of the construction is high, the materials will stretch out quickly.

This is one of my new favorite bras. I think I've found my brand, because two of the models I currently own and LOVE are Chantelles. And also, they are the same size which means that the sizing inside the brand seems consistent which is not always the case. One of my new everyday go-to bras.

This was the only store bought bra that I could find locally that was wearable. Bought it at Nordstrom Rack. I would preferably need a band size (or two) down and cup size or two up. The bra is very open at the centre, and maybe larger than the sizing implies, so it allows me to wear it. The short wires don't make the bra too wide. Does not poke my armpits. Low gore would allow wearing deep cut v-necks. Gore could be narrower. The gore is soft, and lifts up a little. The wires are short and do not extend to the gore, so the gore feels flimsy. Tiny bit of quadding when scooping and swooping.
I like the decorative ribbon design instead of lace. Modern design.
The straps are very thin. This bra doesn't fit me, but I unfortunately own a lot of bras that are too small in the cups, and this is the only one whose straps are always rolling up into themselves. I don't know why this happens, maybe I am over-tightening it trying to get the lift I want from cups that are too small. Likewise, the center gore doesn't seem all that tall but it pushes into my sternum hard. There's very little padding on the channels. This may not be as bad a bra for someone it actually fits.

I really wanted this beautiful bra to work, but it doesn't. The gore is very narrow, just two wires next to each other, but was still too wide for me. Otherwise, it is a well-made full-coverage bra.
I really like the back band on this bra: 4 rows of 3 hooks for support; smooth flat lace that doesn't show under clothes; the straps are cleverly connected to the band vertically so there is no curve to the bottom of the strap. It works nicely to control back fat, and at the same time kicks the straps in to keep them from sliding off the shoulders. The cups are thin traditional foam; they don't add extra bulk. They have the thickness and feel of a spacer cup, but because it has the 'old fashioned' type of foam it's actually better at hiding prominent nipples. The bandless ...front is great for a short torso.
BUT...it is designed for tall, shallow roots. (It wasn't quite so obvious by the measurements alone.) The cups are too tall for me and the underwire is long and sits well below my IMF. Appearance wise, it's not a fancy bra or even sexy. But the Light Purple/Periwinkle color is beautiful! A little bit of color while still being neutral enough to blend under most clothes. First off, I have to give this particular bra a "poor" rating because the left strap was sewn on twisted. I could not give it a "wearable" rating because a twisted strap would drive me crazy!
I LOVE the lace overlay on the cups! Unfortunately, it keeps pulling towards the apex and won't sit flat and causing the quad effect. (However, it's not an issue under the cups themselves. Kinda unusual.) The contour cups themselves are very thin, just enough for modesty. Just lining, no padding. The band is a single layer of mesh with elastic edge, and feels like it would stretch out quickly. The wires ...are a little wide for me, but manageable. Generally feels like it would be a comfortable bra. Overall, just a little too shallow for me. The straps are flocked on the underside and are soft. The top is very shiny. This color "Nude Blush" is basically a soft peach; a nice change from boring Nude! Bottom line as for fit, I think if I went the next cup size up then the wires would be too wide for me.
