I'm on the fence. The top cup seam wrinkles a bit, but I think it is due to how it is sewn - since it's wrinkled when I don't have it on too (Think they might have stretched the fabric slightly while sewing). The band feels snug since I think it is max stretched for me on the farthest hook. This might be how bras are supposed to fit, but I am not used to having bands on this tight. (I am just beginning my search for proper fitting bras - I have been wearing 34 bands for years....thanks VS).

Fabric is beautiful. Straps adjust the entire length ... and are cute accordion texture.

I tend to have problems with some bras cutting into the top of the breast causing quad boob and point looks; however this one does NOT do that. Nice smooth rounded shape.

I think I could wear this bra, but as it is, it isn't very comfortable. The bra's cups seem to not be hitting my body in the right place and are wanting my breasts to be closer together than they are; however the cup size seems correct (since if i slide the bra off center it fits in the cup). I wonder if going up to a 70C (32C) would fix that problem?

This bra is very comparable to the Natori Feathers Contour Plunge Bra (730023) with the tiniest bit more projection. It’s a very similar construction with the partial cup padding and mesh overlay to help conform to the body. I bought a 30D in both and found this one to be more comfortable and better for for my shape. The little bit of padding that it has is a little bit thicker (but not by much) than the Natori. Because of that, the Chantelle lifts a bit more, looks smoother and rounder under t-shirts, while the Natori gives a slightly more natural shape. It’s a very well constructed, high quality bra and fits true to size.

A very interesting bra, and unlike most spacers, this is better thought of as an unlined bra. Although this is called a spacer, the spacer fabric has no "space" in it and has no squish. In other words, the cups have no foam. It's more of a stretchy, breathable microfiber fabric. The cups have a single vertical taped seam, and the cup edges are taped with no stitching. This makes for a very smooth and comfortable fit with minimal bulk, but there is also no padding whatsoever to smooth out the silhouette, so you can expect to see a very natural shape with very little softening of nipple ... visibility. Wires are wide with a shallower curve, leaning towards "swoosh" as opposed to "U". The cups are a bit far apart, and I'm getting some sensation at the gore, especially in racerback mode. The edges where the channels meet the cups can be a bit pointy. Straps are soft with a section of restricted stretch at the front, and they're convertible to racerback with a J-hook. (I'd prefer criss-cross for less extra hardware.) I felt the band was a reasonable firmness for a 30. I like the hook tape quite a bit; it's very plush and has 4 sets of hooks. Aesthetics are minimal, but the band has a slight glimmer to it and a subtle metallic logo that add some subtle interest. The nude color is too pink to work as a nude for me, but may work for those with rosier undertones. If the cups were closer, the gore lower, or the channels less sharp and inwardly curved, this would have been an excellent fit since I like the wire shape.

  4. Pyramide Lace Unlined Demi Bra (1465)

I've been a fan of Chantelle bras for a long time, since you can usually pick them up at Nordstrom Rack for a good price if you scour the clearance rack. However, most of these were collected before I was in my current proper bra size, and as a result, all of my bras are 30D/65D or smaller. I have no idea why I was under the impression that Chantelle cups run large, so when I saw the Pyramide Lace Unlined Demi on Nordstrom Rack in a 30D, I ordered it, hoping it would fit despite the fact that this is not my current size.

As expected, ... the bra is far too small. I have only tried one other Chantelle unlined bra in the past, but since it was a 32B, the cups were ridiculously tiny. Still, I have the feeling that Chantelle's unlined cups run a bit small, because I do have some 30D molded bras that fit better. With that in mind, I would at least need this in my normal size of 30DD/E, or even in 30DDD/F.

Sizing aside, I am quite pleased with this bra. I have actually wanted to try it for over a year, but at its regular price of $84 and not being sure of my size meant that I didn't order it earlier. I wish I had, because it is lightweight, comfortable, and beautifully made. It's definitely not designed with the support of a full-figure bra in mind, so unfortunately it does suffer from a flimsy band and thin straps, but I think it is a lovely option for smaller cup sizes that don't need as much support from these parts of the bra.

The band measures quite small on the flat, but like Natori bands, it stretches quite a bit. The wings are made from single layer mesh and both upper and lower edge elastic are quite narrow. The back of the wing is reinforced with an additional panel of mesh to distribute strap tension at the band attachment, and I think having this extra panel is what makes the band feel stable to me instead of flimsy, since usually I hate bands like these that don't have wide, supportive elastic. There is only one row of hooks in this size, which I think is fine for the 30D, but I hope there are 2 rows of hooks on 30DD/E and up. I found the band to fit comfortably and TTS for a 30 since it is so stretchy and lightweight.

The cups are a 2HC construction, with a center vertical seam. The outer layer is made from swirl-patterned stretch lace, and the inner layer is lined with mesh. Seams are finished beautifully, so there are no scratchy edges. The upper edge is slightly closed off to sit nicely against the body, and has a strip of stabilizing elastic. Although the cup is definitely too small for me, it gave me a nice rounded shape and didn't seem to be overly minimizing, nor did it have a visible pointy seam. I think in the proper size, this would give a similar shape to Marcie, though note that the cups are narrower and shallower than Marcie in the equivalent size. In my experience, French brands like Chantelle and Simone Perele run narrower in the cup width while wires tend to be longer when compared to UK bras.

The cradle is finished with a crossover detail, and the gore is also very lightweight, being made of mesh with no additional tricot backing. The straps are twinned satin elastic at the front and plain in the back. The straps are not fully adjustable for this reason. The hardware on the Poppy colorway is gold throughout, and there is a small round gold charm at the center gore. The overall appearance of this bra is sleek, modern, and elegant.

I wish this had worked out! It is a lovely bra and so nice and lightweight, perfect for those days when you need a comfortable bra and don't need the world's most supportive band and straps. This may not be designed for much larger cup sizes, but I think this is great for core sizes. I think I will try to hunt this down in the next size and see how it goes.

Edit: The gore hurts a lot after long wear for me, so the too-wide gore was an issue after all. Alas.

Summary: particularly good for slightly FoT or even shapes, true to size, attractive design, comfortable material, won't show under a thin shirt.

I am a slightly FoT 30D/30DD with very close-set breasts and immediate projection. I almost always have issues with molded t-shirt bras being too shallow or closed on top. This is not the case with this Chantelle. The memory foam cups are a very soft texture, super-pliable, and along with being cut for a more open shape they do indeed also mold to ... the rest of my individual breast shape very well while keeping it rounded. There is no padding and the foam is remarkably thin, but there is no nipple show-through like with their spacer bras. It looks very smooth under a thin t-shirt, basically invisible.
The straps are sturdy, attractive, won't slip off my narrow shoulders.
The gore is too wide for me, but that's true of almost every bra that isn't a plunge or a Comexim. Anyone whose breasts don't practically meet in the center is probably not going to have this issue.
The band is true to size, but not as sturdy as I'd like. There is no mesh support behind the very flimsy and attractive lace so I fear it won't hold up to heavy use over time. The wing height is excellent.
Visually, I love the satin casing detail on the outside of the underwire and the pale blush color that almost matches my very pale skin (I'm too light for most "nude" bras and as a digression I hate any time a company uses that to describe a color as if everyone is the same skin tone even in the same ethnic category, so thank you for calling this "blush").
All in all, I would call this a win.

Looks great! I love the details on the side of the band and the little criss cross at the gore. I love the feel of spacer foam but have not tried one that fits me well yet.

  6. Orangerie Underwire Lace Plunge Bra (6762)

I have been looking for a lightly lined plunge style to add to my collection as a "comfort bra" to wear when I need some more smoothing and coverage than an unlined bra can provide. I am also looking for something that is a true plunge and provides a low gore with more cleavage. I tried several Natori bras and while none of those worked out for me, I took a chance and randomly ordered the Chantelle Orangerie Plunge when I saw it on sale at Nordstrom Rack. Surprisingly, it fit!

Chantelle bras have typically fit me, though for a long time I was purchasing 30C ... instead of 30D before I learned to scoop. However, like many department store brands, Chantelle's bands aren't snug or supportive enough for my tastes. Honestly, that is the only flaw with this bra, as the band is on the flimsy side. If I wear it on the tightest hook, the lack of supportive wings and full band elastic means that it pulls the underwires right into my ribcage and causes them to dig in. The wings are pretty standard stretch microfiber, but the problem is that only the top edge elastic has any support. The elastic used in the band is super flimsy and springy, and because it is so narrow, even though it does run under the cups, it functionally does nothing. It doesn't provide any support. However, since I am looking for a comfort bra, this is OK, as the molded cups themselves provide enough support for me, and the band stays in place without riding up. The leotard back is a nice detail, and it's constructed with a single hook which isn't a problem for me, as honestly the flimsy band elastic is 90% of the culprit.

Now, the cups on this are a little wider and deeper than Natori Feathers, Flora, or Cherry Blossom in the same size, and the foam used is a bit thicker and firmer. I found that in Natori, I didn't have enough projection in the 30D, but the 30DD's underwires ran too high up the arms. I don't have that problem with this bra, which is awesome, as the cups fit me perfectly. So far, Chantelle molded bras in 30D tend to fit me pretty well in the cups. I also like that this has a proper lowered gore and is a true plunge. This gives me really nice shape with some cleavage. The lace overlay on the cups is smooth and soft, very similar to Natori bras. Mine has a shimmering crossdye effect that is pretty and sophisticated. Although the straps are narrow, they are firm and nicely textured, so I feel confident these won't slip. The only decoration on the bra is a small grosgrain ribbon at the center gore with an enameled C charm.

I wish Chantelle would design their bras with support and function in mind like the UK brands do, but I find that their bras are a really nice option at US department stores. If you can find a band that fits and aren't bothered by details like narrow straps, skinny bands with 1 hook, then I would really recommend this bra. No, it's not the most supportive option out there, but it is miles better than Natori when you want comfort AND functionality!

Kudos to Chantelle for consistency: I purchased two of these bras and they measured and fit almost identically!

The cups are too tall for my short roots, so the top of the cups are hitting the wrong place and sliding down. Otherwise it would have been a nice fit with good immediate projection at the wires. The fabrics are great for hiding nipples, better than most unlined bras. The band is tight and fits like 28, which is great for me. The straps are scratchy.

I love this bra honestly, it's very comfortable. It has very little structure but still feels supportive. It does give coverage but you can still wear a low cut top with it. Especially if you like the bit of extra fabric that goes past the cup. The gore is sometimes itchy by the end of the day though, that could be because I move and drive a lot for work though.

This was just a weird fit. It doesn't look too bad in the pictures, but this bra really flattened my chest. Somehow I simultaneously had wrinkles and some spilling on the top of the bra. The band was huge, even wearing it on the tightest hook felt more like wearing a 32 band. The gore was very wide and uncomfortable. This would work for wide set breasts. It is a pretty bra, and it had some very light padding that would have been perfect for travel (I'm looking for a lightweight, quick to dry bra for travel).

This bra compliments my shape. It is just enough coverage and just enough support without being overwhelming, and the fabric is so soft. No rubbing or itching. It also comes with 4 sets of hooks. My one complaint is the bands are so soft that they almost feel loose. I know from experience this bra will be a little too loose after time, but it comes with the price of the soft feel.

Band too loose and straps don't tighten/shorten enough for me. I think Chantelle bands run a bit large. Top of cup gapes a tiny bit on my smaller breast if I bend over or slouch my shoulders forward, but I still like to wear it. It's a pretty bra - simple, elegant, and well-made.

UPDATE: I gave this to my sister who loves it.

This is the prettiest bra I own, and I can't even wear it -__- The wires are narrow. The floral detailing is aligned perfectly to cover my nipples. The area of the cup that is sheer is kind of cream colored. There's a cute bow on the gore, and where the straps meet the cups. There are 4 columns of hooks (always nice). This bra is overall very comfortable, but the cups are just too small for me. It flattens my shape and gives me crazy quadboob. I think I'd need about two cup sizes larger. I bought this ... at a boutique, and I regret spending so much on a bra I can't really wear. It's been untouched since around September https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> This bra retails for $88 (I think it was $91 at the store). I bought it for about $70 because it has a minor blemish (shown in photo). One of the cream colored threads from the inside was sewn onto the front of the top black edge of the cup. My mom sewed a darker thread on top of it and now it blends in. This is the only reason I marked the quality as good rather than excellent. It is high quality overall. I'm really hoping to get some of my money back, and give this pretty bra to someone who can enjoy it.

The best fitting strapless I've ever worn. A 28 band would probably have been better, but it fits on the second tightest column of hooks for now. There are 4 total columns. Instead of silicon, it has heavy duty elastic, which I find much more comfortable. I also like that there are two different places to attach the straps on the back, so you can angle them in or have the traditional parallel fit.

Although this convertible bra claims to be a 30D, it fit wildly differently from every other I've tried on in that size. The cups were HUGE. They're very rounded, thinly padded, and unforgiving of any shape that doesn't match. I have soft, deflated, wide-set, short-roots and this was a major mismatch. Usually I easily fill the bottom of any cup, but I had wrinkling in bottom and beyond gapping in the tops. The material actually folded in and crumpled along the top. Only tried on in the store, but documenting here so I can keep track.

I bought this bra as an everyday bra to wear under tighter t-shirts since it has a smooth cup and no seams, added bonus- the lace on the band + embellishments on the strap keep it from being a boring t-shirt bra. The pattern on the lace is delicate and has a slight sparkle to it which is very pretty without being simple enough for everyday use. Unfortunately my shape isn't quite right for this and so i end up with the dreaded quadboob. I'm going to try to find a size up to see if it helps since it really is quite a lovely bra.

The band is firm without much stretch and I'd say it's a tight 30 band

Love this bra. This is very comfortable and have been wearing for a couple of weeks. Love the cut, love the fabric, love the 2 tone colors (have pink/black and purple/black). Some bras feel like my breasts are being pushed towards the middle. This one does not. I feel the band is snug enough, but love that it doesn't feel overly tight (it stretches a fair amount). Fits smooth across top and the pushup insert pushes breasts a little more towards middle and gives very natural looking cleavage. Bra gives nice rounded shape.

Tried this one on at a specialty shop yesterday and it fit quite well. The band is tight for a 30 (since I usually wear 28). It has an okay shape and but it looks very good under a shirt. There was gapping for my smaller boob though while standing up straight. Didn't pick it up because it was so pricey!
