This is THE best wireless bra ever created! It's my one and only everyday bra. I ordered the XS in black. My normal cup size is 30FF UK or 30H U.S. This bra does everything a wired bra does. It supports with fabric "underwire" slings and has side slings. The slings are thick, which in turn supports very well just like an underwire. It rounds me, separates me, has the criss cross function with the straps, and is v-cut so it won't peek out of shirts. This is exactly like a wired bra. I'm amazed. I get all the support and roundness of a wired bra, but without the pain of wires. Wires all seem to dig in to me and hurt my ribs. I wear it with the criss cross option. I love this wireless bra. No pain! This is the best bra I have ever tried and that includes wired bras. Do not stop making it!!! I will be buying more colors! More color varieties would be nice too.
Ehem. So, the infamous Sugar Candy Seamless Everyday Bra (that's a mouthful). I have spent near a year coveting this bra, but couldn't justify the price. So recently, I just decided, why not? Bought it, eagerly awaited it, got it, tried it on, felt my world crashing around me, etc etc. The usual bra stuff.
As it usually is with SML sizes, one size, in fact, does not fit a wide range of sizes. The Cake Lingerie website lists that 30GG is XS. I would disagree wholeheartedly (seeing as I'm 30GG and this bra doesn't even begin to fit lol). I think this bra would be best suited for 30FF, ...28G, 26GG (yes, 26) - and an additional cup size down on each band. I guess that's still a wider range than one single cup size... I think this bra would be too large for someone in 28F, and 30E etc etc, but I could be wrong. I hope this makes sense. I don't think if I were in the 32 band range (whichever cup size) I would be buying XS at all, the band is very tight on loosest hook, *but* it does stretch to 90cm at widest with some force used (and since there's no wires there's no risk of wire distortion), however, I'm not sure it would be very comfortable! Otherwise, the band stretches to about 71-72cm without using heavy force, and there are six (6!) rows of hooks so a lot of room for that 26-28-30 adjustment. It is a pregnancy bra, after all, which is probably why it works this way.
The cups, however, I don't find to be as stretchy. As a matter of fact, no matter how much I tried to cram my GGs in there, the boobs won every time, and they would just pop back out within 20 seconds. The cups are very interesting. They have a sling on the side, and a sling on the bottom, made of very sturdy thick (maybe not suitable for summer?) material. I can see this giving well support to smaller busted ladies, however for me both these slings were too small. Meaning, they were cutting into my boobs making for a very weird shape... Especially considering how soft my outer tissue is. If they were a bit longer, I think it would have worked wonderfully. The other, my usual issue I have is that the cups are cutting into my tall shallow roots (or the gentle slope, as someone called it here, lol) with a vengeance. Overall verdict, the cups are too short (especially on the sides), and too small for me. Under a shirt tho, you couldn't tell. The shape under a shirt is alright.
The center features a gore-ish kinda thing. I read that after wearing it a while it does a really nice job at separating but I don't think I will be wearing it (unless I lose some serious volume) to find out.
The straps kinda adjust long enough, I mean at this point I'm used to none of them being quite what I need but oh well, and these are on the longer side. They are nice and thick and comfy, and can be crossed for racerback.
Overall. I like this bra. I think it's a great wireless bra that seems to actually give some support, the size is just not quite right for me. I think I prefer the Luxe lacey version to this one as well. If money allows, I might be trying the S size, however, I'm not sure it's worth trying since XS seems to be about 3 cups too small.
edit: I wonder if I cut out the slings, if the bra would actually fit because there would be room in there. I just really like the band...
edit 2: THE REMOVAL. I did it. It took me an hour to get all the stitching loose, this thing was like freaking armour! But I did it. 1. I did get (about 1 and a half to 2 cups worth) more space in the cup. I'm not kidding, these slings are REALLY bulky. 2. The band is a teensy tiny bit looser now. 3. The bra is actually kind of wearable at this point. 4. The difference in shape is negligible I feel like. It's a casual, wear-at-home bra so who cares about the shape.
edit 3: some might wonder why I ruined a £40 bra instead of just returning it. Truth is, returning is literally more costly for me than doing this. I wasn't gonna return it anyway and it would just sit in my drawer collecting dust. I did it for bra science. Read more 655 more words
Thanks for the review! I’ve seen this mentioned a lot on Reddit and I was curious about it. It looks like the same material as the genie bra. I didn’t find the cups stretchy on that either.
I would say the fabric is a lot nicer quality than the genie bra! But yeah, not very stretchy.

Comfortable very. Supportive... eh along the lines of the genie bra. Most importantly though is that because it has hooks in the back and the band is small to begin with, it does not ride up at all which is my main issue with wireless SML sized bras. So overall, it's pretty decent.

I LOVE that it's a nursing bra and I can easily stop my workout to feed my daughter when she needs it.
Cake seems to have remedied the problem I experience in most woven, wireless bras: there is support for 30Gs and the cup doesn't collapse.
Like many wireless bras and bralettes, Sugar Candy is shallow near the gore. I quad a bit, but it doesn't show under thin knits. The quadding worsens after a few minutes of wear as my breast move toward the center. There is excess fabric in the outer portion of the cup that I want to shift near the gore. And, my breasts are pushed further east/west than they naturally prefer. The lift is exceptional; especially when one considers this has no wire. The heavy ...lifting is performed by layers of material folded along the base of the cup. This is more comfortable than a wire for me, but does feel strange. There is some bulk under each cup from the folded layers.
There is definitely space for immediate projection. However, there is no rounding after the lift; the result looks like torpedos. Grimace. But, under a thin knit, the cup is smooth. The Panache Alisha nursing bra was strangely lumpy. Surprisingly, I'm more likely to wear the 30GG Panache Alisha because the shape is more rounded and there are not multiple folds of fabric uncomfortably positioned under each breast.
Straps are fully adjustable and supportive. Band has 3x6 fasteners. The cup material doesn't stretch much. The band is fantastically supportive on my 28" underbust. However, I do wonder how long the 90% nylon/10% spandex will remain supportive. Supporting nursing mothers is a full-time job.
However, I doubt these folded layers would hold substantially larger breasts. It will be interesting to read what other users experience. Certainly, my breasts are well-supported, but I'm on the smaller side of the scale. Because the band does the heavy lifting, ordering the proper size may result in support for larger breasts. This band is supportive on my 28" underbust. I'm grateful!
Nylon dries quickly when wet. And, although I prefer cotton, the nylon may be a good fabric for leaking breasts and perspiration. Once the temperatures soar over 100 degrees F, I'll know more about the bra's drying and wicking properties.

I would really recommend this bra to someone who doesn't like underwire bras, is having trouble wearing underwire bras at the current moment, and/or who's looking for a sleep bra or bra to wear around the house (and who, of course, falls into this bra's size range). I think I've had maybe two other wireless bras in the past, and I'm really impressed by how this bra manages to keep my boobs mostly in place and separate. Also, the fabric is /so/ soft and thin--it's really, really comfortable, especially if you want to use it as a sleep bra and you're like me and have a hard time ...sleeping while wearing bulky fabrics.
I would describe the lift this bra gives as being sort of like this: \ rather than the more forceful -| sort of lift I tend to get from underwire bras (I hope those visuals make sense to other people, lol). This bra definitely keeps my pendulous boobs off of my ribcage, but they're still in close enough proximity to each other that I felt kind of underboob sweaty when I went out in this bra this morning when it was about 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, as might be expected, my boobs definitely move around more in this bra when I go up and down the stairs and the like than most underwire bras. Still, I wouldn't be uncomfortable wearing this bra out for a stroll or less intense day of school or work, and I wouldn't be distraught if this was the only type of bra I owned. The only thing I don't think I'll do with this bra is lounge around in it--I like being braless better (and I like the effect of shoving my shirt under my boobs to prevent underboob sweat better than wearing this bra).
I do feel as if this bra is a bit small for me in the cups. I get the tiniest bit of quadding from time to time (not visible in the pictures), but I'm unsure if this is because I have the biggest cup volume this particular size allows for or if it's because I'm more full on top than this bra can accomodate for or both. It's because of this that I marked the bra as not fitting me because the top line of the cup is really firm to prevent boob escapage, and so, it's pretty uncomfortable when it digs into your skin. My prominent rib fat also makes it so that the front of the band rolls up; however, it does not roll up so badly that it compromises support, so I'm okay with that.
This bra has six rows of hook and eye closures to allow for a broader range of people to wear this bra. Sugar Candy advertizes this size as being able to fit a 28, 30, and 32 band, but although this bra's band would fit you if you were a 28, I'd be cautious to try this bra, since you wouldn't have a lot of wiggle room when the band stretches out. (As for me, I have a 28.5 inch ribcage and go back and forth between whether I want to wear this bra on the third or fourth set of hooks). This next Black Friday experiment was all kinds of weird - on the plus side, this is my first ever bra review when I get to weigh my bras!
So, what I was looking for is a comfortable wireless option for wearing around the house over the holidays. My shape - short and narrow to average roots, I need a lot of immediate projection, short wings and some room for inner fullness.
The construction of this bra is weird, in that there is simply so much fabric everywhere! It seems to be trying to replace the shape and structure that wires give by simply adding up more and more ...layers of fabric. The main fabric of the cup, so what you can also see from the outside when looking at the bra, is made from two layers of molded microfiber. This fabric is actually very soft. Next on, if you look at the cup from the inside, there are several..I'll call them reinforcements: first off, the bottom of the cup has an additional set of four layers of thicker microfiber. This part is sewn together in the middle with a vertical seam where the gore would be on a wired bra. This thick seam could probably provide some cup separation, but not in my size. The second element of the cup is the side sling. This is made from the same thicker microfiber as the bottom one, and also from four layers of it. The interesting part about this sling is that it's attached to the cup only on the side (vertically, where you measure the wing height) and at the strap, but not on the piece that connects the two. I tried to capture this in a photo but it's easier to see in real life. This detail makes the bra look more like a nursing bra, although the sling is not detachable from the strap. The result of this complicated cup structure is that the lower outer part of the cup comes with a whooping 10 layers of microfiber (?!). I could probably imagine how this in a smaller size might help with the support, but sadly on me it's just bunching up and feels like an unnecessary knot of fabric under my arm. There's also not a lot of lift.
And the part that got me to weigh the bra - I was trying it on and it somehow really feels heavy! It's honestly the first time that I notice bras from a weight perspective. Usually they don't strike me neither as being particularly light nor heavy, but this one seemed heavy. So, of course! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />) I used my kitchen scale and started weighing the various bras from my bra drawer (my brawer, so to say): - Maison Lejaby soft wired 80G - 67g / 72g - Comexim soft wired 80L - 68g - Bravissimo soft wireless sports bra 36G - 81g - Gorsenia soft wired 80I / 75J - 86g / 85g - Comexim 3HC padded wired 75M / 85K - 100g / 108g - Freya Deco 36G - 121g / 123g - Scantilly padded wired (the faux leather Unleash) 34HH - 127g - Deco strapless 36GG - 148g - The Sugar Candy - 165g - The Enell size 3 - 170g In the list above I also added the sizes, although overall all the bras are kind of in the same size range. I also adeed more than one weight if I had more than one bra. I had thought the Sugar candy will be the heaviest, but then the Enell beats it by a few grams. However to be fair, I'd need one size up in the Sugar candy, so the next size up might beat even the Enell https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" /> However, my initial impression was confirmed, my other bras are significantly lighter, especially the unpadded ones are at most twice as light or even less, at 70-80g. Interestingly the bras in my daily rotation are actually the lightest ones of the list. Padded wired bras are a little heavier, at 100-120g. The more "special" bras, such as strapless, leather, sports are also a bit on the heavier side, which makes sense as they have more elements and need sturdier materials.
The next thing that was weird on me was that while trying to put the bra on, one strap kept coming off from where it's attached to the back. Took a while just to get the bra on. The straps are detachable in the back, which could come in handy in order to criss-cross the straps if they fall off your shoulders, for those with narrow or sloping shoulders.
However, it wouldn't be fair to just complain about this bra. It's otherwise well made, and the materials look and feel of good quality, and the microfiber is soft. The colour is a dusty pink, which could work as a more interesting nude for lighter skin tones. The band is nice and thick and feels supportive. The band also comes with 6 sets of 4 hooks and eyes, which can be really nice especially later on if the band stretches out. The label is stamped on the band instead of sewn on, which is also a nice touch to improve comfort.
Regarding the size, this is a bit too small in the cup for me (my go-to size is 36GG), but the next size would have probably been too loose in the band. The band runs true to size.
Overall, I couldn't really recommend this, especially not in my size/shape range, but I appreciate the effort that went into designing the complicated cup structure, and it's definitely a unique design. Read more 834 more words

This is such an interesting bra. I can't judge the fit well because it's quite a bit too small for me. I normally wear a 38JJ UK.
The inside has two supports made of doubled over fabric: one vertical and one horizontal at the band. They cross over on the side at the wing. This is designed to lift the breasts and push them to the center. It also pushes them from the center so they don't touch.
The band is nice and wide. The straps could be wider in this size. They cut in.
This bra just isn't supportive in my size sadly. It's only intended to go up to a 38HH according to the size chart. That seems likely. I think it could go up to 44G in sister sizing as the band stretches up to 44.5 inches. As long as you're not pregnant or nursing that is.
The fabric is so soft and comfortable. The printed label is a nice touch.
Ugh. The folded fabric bothered me, for some reason. How did it feel to you?
I didn't have it on long enough to assess the bottom because I had immediate shoulder pain.
Hey, just wondering, but did you maybe put the wrong cup width in by mistake? :) I would think 3.1 inches from side seam to the middle of the bra seems rather small, or is it very stretchy? And thanks for your help before :)
Actually, now I think about it, the measurement would be straight accross, making a shorter measurement, rather than an angle like most bras are measured, so never mind :)
Greycat no, you are completely right. I usually put in cms because I think it's more accurate that way, but I switched to inches for some reason on those two measurements. I fixed them so it should be accurate now.
Gotcha :) I was suprised for a minute that another bra had been added to the page I bookmarked for 3.7 and below cup widths, it made me a bit suspicious haha I get you about the whole cm vs inches thing, with approx 2.5 cm in an inch, it is better to use the more accurate one when you can. I don't though, my brain works in inches. And miles instead of km, seems my brain's been americanized! Ounces just confuse me, though...And I can't picture height or anything longer than a ruler in cm :/

I can’t say that I’m officially happy with this bra/bralette. I found it online for a good price and it says it is the right size in xs for my 30F/FF bra size. It’s got redeeming qualities to it but the fit is lacking for sure.
For starters, please look at the measurements with a grain of salt. It’s not really easy to measure ...something like this, but I did my best.
The band on this one is surprisingly snug, and borders on too snug. For a lounge bra, I need some slack for confort. Although it measured perfectly within my stretched band range, I now have it off and my sternum is hurting despite the lack of wires. I’m not sure how this would happen, but I did, only after a few hours of wearing it today while I was cleaning and doing laundry.
The cups are quite stretchy but resistant and I think my problem lies with the fact that I have very soft tissue and lack the firmness to counter the resistance and so it’s smushing me some. I’m also not filling up the cups as nicely as I could if I had firmer tissue. I don’t think it is a size problem. I just get an East West shape from the front, and a strange profile from the sides. I recognize that it is not a wired bra and I can’t expect a wired bra shape.
Also, I don’t know if it’s a flaw, design aspect, or a result of the previous owner (28GG with firm, fot, heavy breasts) but on the side of the cups, it’s puckered like the fabric is loose. The previous owner did not wear this a lot, and it’s ok the outside, so I don’t think that’s it. Is it to stretch more with more volume? I don’t know.
The material is a lot thicker than I expected, though it’s pretty soft. The design in the band is quite subtle, and the straps are decorative which is nice in such a basic style. It’s got lots of internal fabric designed for the shaping and support, and while it’s soft, it’s a little industrial feeling.
Under a loose top, it’s a pretty natural shape and I’ve worn it around my building for laundry, to check the mail, and take the recycling and compost out/down. It’s okay for short term but I just can’t get comfortable enough in it. My aerie chill bralette is way more comfortable than this. The one I purchased was new and the outer cup was strangely loose, too. I so wanted to add a seam or two and move the material from the side to the center where I most need it. I loved the supportive band.
I’m wondering what would happen if I removed the inner slings like brasaremean did and if it would help.
oh gosh this one! I think I've mentioned that I bought an S and even though I was supposedly in the right size range it was ABSURDLY large in the cups for me... like I could have suddenly doubled boob volume and it would have been a great fit. This def means it's a good option for the folks typically left out of the bralette game, but their size chart and recommendations could probably use a bit of fine tuning!

I'm currently a 30G, and I really struggled with whether to get a XS or S in this bra. The chart on the box does suggest an XS for a 30G, but I decided to try a S after reading reviews. The cups fit decently, but I can easily fasten the band on the 4th column of hooks (there are 6 total). I might be able to get away with a XS, but my breasts are already a little squished in the S cups (but not uncomfortably so).
I have a feeling I'll be returning this bra because I'd rather not pay full price for it, but it is soft and does seem to be well made.
Note: the style number on the tag is 28-8005-06. I'm not sure how it differs from 28-8005-07.

I bought 18DD - Cake Lingerie » Honeycomb Macaroon Bra (20-1020-73) to try out a FlexiWire bra in a sophisticated gold ochre colorway with intersting Moroccan burn-out macrame lace. The macrame lace is resilient to pilling but is more textured than regular lace and will not lie particularly flat. AU 18DD = 40DD or 40:5 and the cups fit best now that I've lost about 1/2 cup size and am between 38:7/40:6 to 38:6/40:5 The band is a stretchy TTS 40 adjustable to tight 44 and is currently 1 size too big for me. The wires spread wide and sit on top of tissue (orange in a glass) and the gore doesn't tack which is always the case for FlexiWires. The FlexiWire side boning seems unnecessary. Fairly light wear and washing really show on the inner cotton lining and the strap lace has pilled so this model is best as one of the bras in your rotation rather than a workhorse lounging or nursing bra. The FlexiWire side boning seems unnecessary. The deep, saturated orchid pink with a black lace overlay is delightful and decadent. I expect regular wear and frequent washing to fade the color and pill the lace so this model is unfit to be a workhorse lounging or nursing bra. Where Cake Lingerie and Hotmilk come in is offering nylon/plastic FlexiWires - SOFT UNDERWIRES - which are less supportive but more comfortable for sensitive nursing parents as well as lounging or sleeping. Besides being softer and therefore wider-spread, FlexiWires also CREAK but I do think FlexiWires are a useful option to have on the bra market. The 3 hook row by 6 column band closure typical for the brand means that the band can accomodate a 1.5-2 band size increase which accomodates weight fluctuations and functionally extends the Cake Lingerie's band range, as the AU 16/ US 38 stretches to about US 42 I bought 16F - Cake Lingerie » Velvet Delight Balconette as a pretty lounging/sleeping bra after it was discontinued. 16F = 38:7 and the bra fully contains my breasts for a full coverage neckline, the soft wires don't fully separate the breasts or tack at the gore. There is FlexiWire side boning which seems unnecessary. The periwinkle blue with matching lace overlay is quite pretty I expect regular wear and frequent washing to fade the color and pill the lace so this model is less fit to be a workhorse lounging or nursing bra. This was super soft, stretchy, and comfortable for sleeping in for the first few weeks postpartum, but it provides no support. I hate sleeping with a bra, so I only used it until my milk stopped leaking so badly.
Love it! For me, I think it fits more like a sports bra. Very comfy. You will need to dry it in the dryer, in a lingerie bag b/c it has so many layers. I tried to air dry it, but I ran out of patience after two days.
In my excitement ordering what I thought was the everyday lounge bra, I accidentally ordered the nursing bra... I could wear it as it fits, I just would prefer the non sling regular version. It's really a nicely made bra, good fabric and strength, so many non wired comfy bras are too stretchy and this has some substance to it. with 6 rows of books, accommodates 28-32 band size and a good range of the stretch in cups, I'm typically 28g us or 28f/ff uk.
This is a wired, full coverage, seam-free (across the nipple) nursing bra. Very smooth under a T-shirt. The retaining straps (the parts that keep the bra in place when the drop cup has been opened for a feeding) are made of a soft cotton knit.
The cup is made from a thin neoprene-like fabric, which has several advantages: * Creates a semi-molded cup -- more than just lined, but not as thick as padded -- which is lovely for hiding the pointy nipples (and lumpy breast pads) that often accompany breastfeeding. * Cup has some stretch - a very nice feature when breasts can change 1-2 cup sizes in a few hours. * Cup is slightly absorbent -- enough to keep your shirt dry when you leak a few drops.
