  1. This bra is super comfortable and looks GREAT under t-shirts. I love the support! It looks good and feels good.

I do have shallow boobs, however, which is not great for plunge styles. There ends up being a lot of gaping at the top of the cup when I bend over or move around, but it still looks great under a shirt and I'm still fully supported.

This is my go-to bra when I don't want to see lines under a shirt. I think it needs to be tighter in order to remigrate tissue, and I have to set it on the middle hook, but the quality is amazing. It looks like a "granny" bra when it's not on, but looks great on.

The only con that I can think of is that since it is higher up on the side, it may show through a tank top, but most well-fitted bras do so for me.

    Didn't fit

I may be the only customer in the world Braologie has refused to work with after her initial bra did not fit, and I am deeply saddened by this.

Because I have some spine and shoulder injuries, I was really looking forward to my Lacie and hoped, once we got the fit of one bra right, to buy more and add the mini-vests. I had read lots of reviews and fit stories, and I was prepared for some back and forth to get the right fit.

However, when my bra finally arrived yesterday (May 4), two months after I ordered it, I was shocked by how little could be done ... to help me.

First the good things about the bra and the fit:

The band, without the extender, seemed just about right. Although loose by my usual standards (I could easily get it closed on the tightest hook), it seemed secure in the loosest hook and didn't move when I moved. I figured it had the appropriate longevity and gave me a nice, smooth look with minimal indenting.

I have pretty wide roots, and the wire width seemed good-to-slightly-wide.

The materials were sofffffffft on the inside and pretty on the outside.

    Now, the less good:

The cups were obviously too tall for someone my height (5' or 152 cm). Let's be clear: I'm not talking about too big (though that may have been a factor). Too tall. With the straps tightened to their utmost, I could fit my entire fist in the top of the cup; alternatively, I could pull the strap about an inch and a half above my shoulder. In this position, the cup began to fold outward and onto my arm.

Many people have complained about the height of the wings. The wings touched the top of my armpits. Now, I didn't find this uncomfortable in and of itself. But due to the wide and tall cup design, this is why the cup fabric flopped onto my arm when pulled up and left that fist-sized gap when let go.

In theory, the gore is supposed to float on this bra. It lay flat on me. My cleavage was separated and spread wide. It didn't match the ideal fit profile of this bra.

    So I emailed Tallia immediately.

The resulting exchange went on for 12 hours (with a break in the middle for Hong Kong to sleep, obviously) and was very confusing and ultimately disappointing.

I was told I was "wearing the bra too high" and that this could be corrected with the mini-vest.

It took four emails back and forth to figure out what she meant. I even thought she meant the underwires shouldn't be in my inframammary fold and demonstrated to her what happened when I pulled the bra down till the strap touched my shoulder (2 cm of empty cup at the bottom).

Ultimately I realized she meant I was shortening the straps too much in an attempt to flatten out the top of the cup and she realized that yes, the cups were too tall for someone my height.

I spent another hour asking her if that was maybe because my wings were 15 cm high (between 1 and 4 cm taller than anyone else's on Bratabase that I've found). I asked her about shortening the sides, and she outright refused. Twice. Six emails went back and forth in which she said (a) the only thing they could do for me was offer me a mini-vest; (b) this was absolutely the right size, and they would not alter or change this bra in any way; and (c) if I placed an order for a different bra (the Advanced Lacie, which was what I thought I ordered in the first place, plus a vest), there would be no refunds and they would charge me shipping both ways if it didn't fit.

My customer service experience with Braologie has been so startlingly different from everyone else's that I simply don't know what to think. As of right now, 26 hours (plus 2 months) after this ordeal started, I am still contemplating taking them up on the "try the vest" offer, because I want this bra to work, even though they seem to have given up on me.

**A note on the size. I chose this based off the dimensions of the basic Freya Deco. The band is a very close match, and the cup width and depth are each about 1 cm larger than the 30GG. This was the closest bra in style to the Lacie that I owned for comparison.

This is a strange new bra and I don't want to jump to any conclusions about it without giving it a chance to impress me.

    A full review is on my blog but to summarise;
The side wings feel too high at the moment, and the straps won't adjust short enough for me to pull the bra up to where the wires should sit under my breasts, so I have space in the bottom of the cups.

However, the bra is gorgeous, the band feels amazing and does a great job of smoothing with a good shape. There is fantastic cleavage, and I did not expect it to but the gore sits flat on my chest comfortably.

This size is just an estimate based on my usual size and the fit of this bra. With a lot of scooping and a little wiggling, I can manage a bit of cleavage with the pads in, which is just short of a miracle for me! Initially I was concerned that the cups were too large, but after adjusting the straps down and a lot of scooping, they seem decent.

By looking at some of my old bras, I'm guessing that this is somewhere between a 28FF and 28G in size. It was much too small, even after taking out the remove-able padding in the cups. I'm usually around a 28GG, sometimes larger.

Even then, I really like this bra and the way that it's cut. The wires are a good size and shape for me, but there just wasn't enough depth there. I also like the wider band because it gives a much better line under clothing. I'm 5'1", so the straps had to be tightened as far as they could go, but the bra didn't poke ... under my armpit at all. I agree that it has a way of pushing any and all breast tissue forwards. I've never been able to see my silhouette so clearly without my breasts getting in the way.

Another thing that I noticed after looking at other reviews was that there wasn't as much boning as the one that Vee received. There wasn't any boning in the remove-able padding and can't feel any boning in the cups either. The side wings had vertical boning, but not the additional horizontal boning that she pictured. There wasn't a side support panel, but it did a good job of push everything forward without it. I emailed to ask about these things and I was told that the differences between the two bras is that Vee's was a custom order, and not the standard Lacie bra. In my correct size, they felt I wouldn't need those extras.

I have to say, though, that the customer service is excellent. Tallia, the person I've been in contact with, has been really amazing so far in terms of fitting and advice about their products. Overall, I like this brand and am exchanging this for a better size...

As an aside, Braologie asked for several measurements before making the bra, but after receiving it and seeing how small this was in the cups, I re-measured myself. I realized that I had messed up on measuring my breast perimeter, so this may have been a reason why it was so far off in cup sizing.

This bra is very different from all the others I've tried so far. It was transferred to me from curlewgirl (thanks so much!) and comes from braologie. I am doing the review with the included pads inside the bra, but not using the included extender.

The pros: This bra looks really nice on. I like the lace and I love that I get cleavage! This is the only bra I've tried that has given me any so far, but all my other bras are balconettes, which may make the difference-- this one is more of a plunge-type. The wide band feels very secure around ... the sides and on the back, without squeezing me too much. Even though the band is too large for me, it does not slide around with movement and is quite comfortable. It seems very well-made and gives a great shape under clothes.

The cons: This is just a lot of bra. The underwires come up too high in the armpits, and the wings come all the way up into the fold of my armpit when I wear it. It's a bit stabby there and is the main factor in me not wanting to keep the bra. The cups also come up pretty high on my torso, and show underneath a normal tank. I have to adjust the straps almost to their fullest to get them to sit right, which causes the little adjusters to sit right on top of my shoulders. The band stretches to two full inches larger than the 28" it is supposed to be. It seems as though braologie prefers a wider but looser band to give support. I think all of the cons (except the last) are caused by the fact that this bra was made to fit someone else's measurements. curlewgirl's breasts might just sit lower on her torso than mine, which if they do, would be the reason for all my gripes with the fit. I imagine one made for my body would fit me better.

The bottom line: I think this is a nice and well-made bra. It is comfortable, gives a wonderful shape and makes my boobs look good. However, it does not quite work for me, so I'll be passing it on to someone else in the community. Overall I am impressed with the bra and am considering ordering my own based on my measurements.

    • Hi,

It's really great to hear your comments. Especially not the praises since these are the comments that are the most constructive and we can find ways to improve our products further.

Before explanations and judgements from us, would you mind posting pictures front, side and back on here? But if you do not want to at least contact us via email so we can have a further discussion. We really want everyone on here to know why our bras are designed the way it is.

      Thank you.

    • Pictures have been uploaded and are pending approval.

    • Any new comments now that my pictures are up, braologie ?

    • Sorry, we are still new to bratabase, but where do I see your pictures.. :)

    • 1

      Avi_ Finally, I see it.

The comments I'm about to make might get a bit of criticism, bear with us, keep an open mind.

For this one, I would like to clearly highlight that we are commenting on our own bra, not other brands, so when discussing how to wear the bra, it doesn't mean it will be right for other brands. Am I even making any sense... Here goes...

The bra cups are actually too big. We can't really comment on the band, seems ok, but we know everyone on the boards likes that tight fit so I won't further comment on it. What I will comment is if it still gives support but not too tight and no indentation, why not?

You are trying to fit your breasts into the cups, actually you are trying to forcefully fit your breast inside the cups, trying to get the support of the cups, so that is why you need to wear the bra so high and bra straps short. If you wear it lower, it gaps? It is because the cups are 1-2 cups too big for you actually. If the cups are 1-2 cups smaller, you will still fill those cups, can get support, and don't have to forcefully and wear the bra that high up. The side wing (band) is actually so high that it is almost cutting on the "roof" of your armpit. We admit that are side wings wear a lot higher than other brands, but not so high that it almost cuts up on the "roof". Some wearers might have discomfort on the side because we are migrating the tissue from the side to the cups. We are trying solving problems (migrating tissue), not covering up (covering it up with shapewear). But in your case this is different, it is really cutting up on your armpit causing the discomfort.

1-2cups smaller will do wonders. Your breast will be even fuller up top, with support and all the good stuff, less of the bad stuff.

I first glance at the pictures, it looked like we "locked" our bras on you in the upper half of your body and shoulders. It shouldn't look that way, it should be more "airy".

We will post a blog topic soon describing how you can feel how are bras work without trying them on in person so everyone can gauge and understand why are bras are designed a bit different than the others.. It's going to be one weird blog post.

Again, this post is about OUR bras, we are not saying this is the case for other brands. That is why every bra comes with a tutorial on how to wear it. We think even that's not enough, videos are trying to be made this into a clearer subject.

    • 1

It is not as if I am pulling the bra up ridiculously high or anything, that is just how high it needs to be for the underwires to sit where they should - right on the inframammary fold. I also do not think I am over-tightening the straps, that is how tight they need to be to avoid being nudged off the shoulders. I think probably you are right, the cup is too big, or at the very least, there is too much of it. But going down too much in size would cause the cups to spill over, unless the shape of the cup is different also.
