I got this from another user. Using Avocado's size chart, this is one of the sizes recommended for me. I also wanted to try the K cut (I have an A cut as well as an H cut on the way to me). Being more of a 28-30, I knew the band would be too large for me in this and planned on altering it if the cups worked for me. Fit wise, no, just no. The band was too big, which I anticipated and the cups were huge. I tried it with a Rixie clip which was better but created new problems. There was not enough immediate ...projection on the bottom for me and the bra was almost immediately pushed down by my breasts. The upper portion of the cups were a mess on me as well. The horizontal seam created a huge amount of quadding while the very upper portion of the lace and ribbon remained unfilled and gaping. All of the extra bagginess that's on top, I need below! Because of that, I don't think trying a size down would work for me. So I'm chalking it up to a mismatch between myself and the K cuts. The bra is gorgeous though and seems well made. I really like the almost neoprene type band and ruffled ribbon across the cups. I was able to pass this bra on to somebody more suited for it. It looks smashing on her so at least it has a good home. No no, it's me who's in love with Annick! This isn't my first Avocado bra, but the previous one was second-hand with an aaaaaaawfully stretched 60 band. First time ordering directly from Avocado, I fell in love with Annick In Love the moment I put her on and I'm never ever taking her off. The size is spot on, and the fit is better than any other unpadded bra I've ever tried so far - even better than Ewa's SM, which was my best unpadded fit before falling for Annick. The wires are rather soft, yet the gore tacks perfectly, so the combination of comfort and support is just ...a whole new realm of fantastic. Plenty projection, plenty narrow, not too round - for better and for worse. The only con as far as I'm concerned is the thin band that has only two hooks. It feels firm enough now, but I'm afraid it might stretch too quickly. I was hesitating for a long time before purchasing Avocado bras due to the higher price point, but realising now they're completely worth it. I'd rather save up on two or three cheap ones with an ok-ish fit so I can have one magnificent piece like this one. Jeez! Now I need to eat stale bread for a couple months so I can get the Orlando.
Edit: I now have the Annick in two colourways, and there are slight differences between them. The Cassis bra is softer, and the band is stretchier and narrower - whereas the Black/Green bra is somewhat stiffer, and the band is twice as thick and not stretchy at all. Read more 160 more words
UPDATE (20 Dec 2013): I contacted Avocado about my strap issue, and they told me to send it back and they will replace the straps for me. I will update once I have received the revised bra back. Excellent customer service, imo.
I love this bra but, sadly, have to send it back. I am the odd one who needs longer straps than most, I guess. The straps on this bra are uncomfortably short for me when adjusted to their longest. I mean, I think I would have some reduction of circulation in my shoulders if I wore the bra for more ...than an hour. I want to note here that the pressure on my shoulders from the straps is not from the weight of my breasts.
It makes me ill to have to send this beautiful bra back. It fits me perfectly, EXCEPT that the straps are unbearable. I love the shape and the comfort of the bra. The band is a bit snug, but I like mine that way. I fasten my bra in the front and turn it, and it is not too tight to do that. If the straps were longer, I would order this bra in every colorway.
So, if you are one who needs shorter straps, this bra may be for you.
Back to the drawing board for me to find a bra that fits. I am wishing for one just like the Annick in Love, but with longer straps!! Read more 144 more words
** This bra no longer fits as I'm a 30G now, but the review still stands. **
Appearance: I have this in the deep purple colour. Along the top of the cub is a hot pink ruched ribbon and in the centre gore and top of the cup/strap attachment are spotted pink/orange bows. Not sure if I love the bows, but I love the contrast between the deep purple and the bright pink. The colours also really suit my skintone. It gives a lovely rounded shape, very uplifted but still natural. The K cut has less coverage than my other Avocado ones which are in A cut, ...so suit lower necklines.
Fit: The band is very comfortable on the middle hook. It is pretty stretchy and feels slightly loose but it is wearable, though it feels like I'd need to move to the tightest hook after not too long and then a rixie clip. I tend to like firm bands. The cup volume is pretty much perfect, but the top of the cup does cut in ever so slightly on my left breast as it's the bigger one and tends to fluctuate more noticeably. I'd say the bra fits like a loose 30HH or firm 32H. The underwires are U shaped and fairly narrow, which is perfect for me. The underwires do not come very high underneath the arms, which is great if pokey wires are an issue. Read more 135 more words
This is an extremely pretty bra (black with green ribbon trim). I want to love it, but I don't. I do, however, very much like it (enough to keep it).
The good: narrow wires, high quality construction, lovely details
The not so good; very slight torpedo boob shape; I prefer a bit more rounded, very slight digging in at gore
Overall it is good. It is my first bra with narrow wires and I can see that this is something I may want to pay more attention to. The cups are a teensy deep for me, but I don't think I could size down. Pretty true 30E.
I definitely would try more Avocado after trying this one.
Just not compatible with my shape at all. The wires sit below where my breast tissue sits, regardless of what I do with the straps. There is a HUGE empty space at the top, too. This may work better for more projected girls, but I honestly have no idea. Shame, because it's a beautiful bra.
Too big in the cups, band fits on the second hook. Pretty little bow at the center in two pattern (rosea/dots). Cups is blakc mesh with small dots. Cups are trimmed with green ruffled band. It's not elastic in cup or band. Back of band is not mesh but of an opaque bikini-like quality. The center gore is perhaps a little too low for my shape and maybe floats a tiny bit - but mostly because it's low, I think. But it is definity still a balconette, not a plunge a all.
