Absolutely beautiful, luxurious feeling bra. All of the materials in the set feel high-quality and expensive. I find the Doyenne half cup cut to be fairly similar to an Ewa CHP. Lady Grey is more closed off on top, taller, and less center projected than a CHP but it's not a huge difference. The cups in Lady Grey are also slightly deeper. This model is very similar to the Comexim 3HC, and I'd have confidence ordering that in the future.

Lady Grey, how gorgeous you are! This was an Anna Pardal Doyenne Half-cup, this was made for me after AP closed her doors so mine is actually a Comexim 3HC. So the tag says. Anyway, it is a beautiful peach color with steel grey trimming and a fleur de lys type pattern. The fabric is very high quality. It has a great hand feel, smooth and silky. It is thick and it lacks a lot of stretch. My Lady has cookie pockets made up of very soft plushy beige cotton. It did not come with cookies, but the pockets take up the whole cup and I can put whatever ...I want to in there. I'm thinking an EM S pad would work well, possibly even a CHP pad if you just wanted more lift. She also has an overlapped gore and a 3x3 clasp that, again, I did not ask for. It is gorgeous. I feel like a buying a fainting couch to lounge about when I wear it. I feel like a lady of means from the Victorian Era, hysteria optional. It's easily the highest quality bra I have (and you know I have a lot). It looks and feels expensive.
My band is very tight. It only stretches to 26-26.5". I need an extender with this, and I need the whole thing. Truly, I don't know if I'll ever be able to wear it without one. Jaimie at Bra Obsessed helped me order this. With my measurements, a 28FF would be my best fit but she told me Lady Grey runs very snug and I should sister size to the 30F. Am I glad I listened to her! I doubt I'd be able to wear the 28 band at all. The straps are a little thinner than I expected, but they are plush and comfortable. They are firm and not too stretchy. They are set in more than an EM CHP and stay out of my underarms at all times. They adjust easily and fully, they stay in place. The wires are narrow and they are short. They are very low profile on the sides and I love it! Most of the tissue I have on the upper side is muscle, I don't need wires containing it and poking at it. These wires stay right away from that little pec flare and they feel great. The cups have great immediate projection and give a nice lifted cakes on a plate look. The heaving cleavage is oh so appropriate given the Duchess vibe I get from the set. They are a spot on fit for me. There is no bubbling, no cutting, no gaping, no nothing. I could absolutely not wear any pads with this, they are a perfect fit and seem like they were cut around my breast tissue.
The underwear are lovely. I got the Tap Pant and a Thong in M. The Thong is described as high-rise but I don't find it so. I do have a rather long torso for my height, so if you don't they very well could be high rise on you. It is not the best thong. The back panel is a little too thick and I wish it were thinner. The Tap Pants are great. I think this is now my favorite cut, they don't show lines under pants and they cover enough for dresses. Yeah, I'd flash a little cheek if the wind blew up, but I have nice cheeks (and cute undies). They are very classy, very comfortable, and very well made.
I wondered what made AP worth about twice as much as Comexim. I mean, it's the same seamstresses making all of the bras, even some of the fabrics are the same (Sabine is a red Geisha, Noir and Hibiscus are the same). The pattern is a bit different. This is a 3HC, but compare it to my 60H - Comexim » Green Velvet Half Cup (181) and you can tell that the pattern is different. Bras like Lady Grey are what makes AP worth it. Typhoon is next on my list.
You can get Anna Pardal directly from Comexim for 200 PLN per bra, or you can get it from Jaimie at Bra Obsessed for 90 CAD. If you're using USD that's about $16 difference, which is minimal in my opinion. If you know what size and what customizations you need get it direct, but if you need help go to Jaimie. She will help you and you can return it if it doesn't work for you (plus you get to support a small woman owned business, actually you get to support two!). Read more 662 more words
This beauty, this gem, this gorgeous bra is mine at last. But you know what? When I first put her on, I was completely underwhelmed! I’ve *loved* my 32FF - Anna Pardal For Comexim » Lady Grey Sophisticated Balcon since I got it, and I’ve always loved the grey satin trim on the cup edge of the 3HC in addition to the rounded profile, so it’s baffling to why I felt like that when I first put it on, and I can’t figure out what it is about the fit that makes me feel like this.
True to its sister, the Lady Grey is a ...buttery soft satiny material that feels so luxurious. The peachy salmon base with the grey print is so classy, and the grey straps with the grey satin trim on the cups and bow at the center gore are nicely accented. The print on the cups has almost a navy blue tinge to the grey. Personally, I love the straps on these bras, even though they are thinner and many people prefer a wider strap. Like its sister, this bra also share a 3 hookset tape.
The fit of this is sadly a bit too snug for me. If we’re talking strictly technical fit, then this band is it. It’s snug and I can get two fingers in between my skin and the band. From a comfortable fit perspective, it’s digging into my ribcage and not the best option for lengthy wear. The cups are pretty good but you can see how the satin cup edge ribbon closes the bra off a little bit more than I need and therefore I have a bit of a dent in my boobs from it. But it’s super minor. Were I to find the correct size extender, I might have a little more cup space as a result. The straps are fine, cup width, height, and depth are all pretty good...narrow wires with moderate projection, and because the cup edge is a little bit closed on top, it minimizes a potentially too tall cup height on me in this size, unaltered.
I have not decided what I’m doing with this yet... keep it and wear it for short periods to stretch the band out or resist it? While it’s growing on me more as I try it on, part of me feels like my original Lady Grey is the better fit on me. Read more 300 more words
I bought this directly from Comexim after AP closed, so it's tagged 60HH. Fits like a 26G. This style really had to grow on me as I wasn't a fan at first but I'm in love now, and feel lucky I was still able to snag one after it being discontinued for a while. Love the incredible fabrics and quality - there really is a difference in AP's material. This truly feels like a high-end bra. The band is super comfortable thanks to the even tension between the fabrics and elastics. Gives a nice smooth look to my back, where I tend to have overhang with thinner bands and elastics due to my overdeveloped ex-gymnast shoulders. Many UK brands have tighter elastics than band mesh (looking at you, Cleo Marcie) and that can dig into my bony ribs after a full day. Narrow and immediately projected as usual. Oh my god! This set is stunning! I feel like some rich duchess or something in it. The fabric is SO soft, literally like butter. The band definitely fits like a 60 because the fabric covered band is stiff. I get slight quadding from the ribbon edge, and if I push the gore flat the quadding is drastic. This may be better for FOB ladies. The fabric is much more salmon colored than the pictures show, which is gorgeous! But unfortunately dosen't work very well with my cool toned skin. Nevertheless, This set is drop dead gorgeous.
This bra is super comfortable, gorgeous and a perfect fit in the same 30:10 size I wear in Comexim 3HC. Very high quality construction with extraordinarily silky fabric on the exterior and plush cup lining on the inside... it feels absolutely heavenly to wear and gives a magnificent round shape! The band is firm and not very stretchy, fitting in between a 28 and 30, which is just what I need. Overall one of my favorite bras ever, I feel very lucky to have it https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
This is a very pretty bra and the materials are very nice, but it's not quite the right size or shape. The band stretches to about 28 inches, which is comfortable for me. I'm still not sure whether I prefer 60 or 65 bands in Comexim as I have a narrow ribcage, but a bit of triangle back after years of playing sports and lifting weights. I'm no longer muscly, but seem to have a bit of extra squish where my lats used to take up more space.... I get a little bit of quad boob at the top of the cup and the lack of depth and lower wires on the side lead to some side boob leakage. I think Comexim plunges are a better fit for me
All of the materials used for this bra are quality and so so SO comfortable! I thought I wouldn't really like the pattern but it is actually really cute in person. The gore is SUPER narrow and there is a nice fuzzy lining on the underwire, which I appreciate. The straps are too wide-set and the cups are wayyy too small for me. The gore wasn't able to sit flat because my boobs were escaping everywhere, so it was hard to judge much about this bras shape.
This is my first Comexim half cup and I really like it. I got it from another Bratabase user. It fits very well (more like a 28 than a 30, yay!) with absolutely no gaping and just a hint of quad boob on my larger side. It's very comfy and the cups are perfectly snug without being too tight. I feel like I am perfectly secure in this bra and I get very little jiggle. The material is very luxurious and soft and the pattern is attractive. This bra was customized to have cotton cookie pockets so the inside of the bra is quite soft and snuggly. If I ever order directly from Comexim, I will order the cotton cookie pockets for sure. Since the fit is very snug, I don't need any cookies with this, but it's nice to have the option. This is a well fitting, comfortable, beautiful, high quality bra and I am very happy with it.
The variation is...maddening. Previously, I have loved 65K/30H Eris 3HC. Lady Grey has a shorter band and a narrower cup. For me, narrower than 6" causes pain and suffering. But, for the more narrow among us, this is a fantastic bra.
This band is one of Comexim's more dimensionally stable: it just doesn't stretch as much as those with a single layer of wing fabric. It is most like those with lace around the entire band. This will be a supportive bra for a long while.
The fabric is peach satin with charcoal print and charcoal straps, fasteners, and bows. Sophisticated and feminine....and masculine all in one.
Lady Grey is a ...more immediately projected Comexim 3HC. Some models have more or less immediate projection than others. For those that I have worn, each has been added to a "more" or "less" immediate projection album: http://www.bratabase.com/list/g7q/
Comexim makes my favorite, ill-fitting bras. So, I have finally decided I will alter them. Lady Grey should fit comfortably after I remove the wires. I'll add "after" photos.
Edit: Unpredictably, the alteration works better with Wacoal bras. Even with the wires removed, the cup was biting under my most projected breast. Disappointing. Read more 87 more words
