    32DD

    Fits

I bought this hoping to find a comfy bra to sleep in. This almost fits the bill. I read that this bra tends to run small, so I sister sized up to a 32DD. Good thing too, because the band is tight - it only stretches to 30. It's a little too tight for me to want to wear to bed. I also felt like the bra comes up higher than I'd like under the arms.

I like the cups. They give a nice round shape and the seam under them does a decent job mimicking underwire and keeping my breasts separate. There are pockets in the cups if you want to add an insert.

Sports bra and/or mastectomy bra. Fits like a Wacoal 34D. Adjustable shoulder straps will feel short if you are low set (like me) or just tall. Bra will be for sale here on bratabase. Amoena size chart for 34DD, under bust 28 3/4 - 30 1/4 and bust 37 1/2 - 38 1/4

    Damage on box.

    EU: 80/85 E/F

    Hasn't set fit

The Amoene Frances is a soft cup is surgery bra that I bought after my breast reduction surgery.
Sizing is kind of between the precise cupsize and the general as the S-M-L type of sizing . It comes small to 2xl and 4 cupsizes . I bought Medium E/F after trying on a Large in store (after the surgery ) and the band was riding up too much . I had 33” underbust before surgery and was wearing 34 K ( eu 75 N) bra. Now after the surgery my underbust is 35” and the Medium ( EU 80/85) band fits the best. This E/F cupsize ... seems to be the largest and it first my currently 42” full bust circumference.

As all post surgery bras, this has front hook closure. It has only a single column of hook , so you can not adjust it , and the strap is also not adjustable.

To make up for the lack of adjustments possibility, it is made of a high Spandex content and it has 12% elastan . This makes it very stretchy and surprisingly supportive at the same time . Otherwise the bra is cotton, which is a big plus for those prefer natural fibers .

I prefer the support of my other Amoena post surgery bra to this , but this was half the price. But I actually bought it for the colour . My other higher end Amoena post surgery comes only black and white and happy that this one comes in nude colour so I can wear it under my light coloured tops.
While I do not need it, but it has a pocket for prosthesis, which is great for those who lose their breast or part of their breast due cancer .

Many people I talk to online just buy the fruit of the loom front closure sports bra after surgery , which looks almost identical to this . I ordered both and sent the fruit of the loom back , because they may look the same / similar , but they are nowhere near same in terms of support . The fruit of the loom is a typical cotton jersey with a 5% Spandex content and as a result have much lesser support than this .

Otherwise the bra ugly as hell, but nobody buys post surgery bras for their looks

This bra is a perfect combo of styles. The thick straps are comfortable, cushioned, and soft. The lace is lined with pockets so it is not scratchy at all.
The hook and eye closer is cushioned as well, much like Victoria's Secret bras.
The band is super firm measuring at 31.5" for a 34 band! Might need an extender.
The hook and eye closure is cushioned as well.
My bust measures 36", could easily fit a 35"-36.5".

    • Jj, Scharminkeltje brings up a subject not very often talked about on Bratabase.

Why isn't there more stuff about breast cancer/surgery/post-surgery bras, etc? It seems to me like Bratabase would be a good place for women who have to deal with these issues to get help.

But, maybe there are other sites that deal specifically with breast cancer issues?

Gray Amoena bra, Lara style. It has no underwires but does have side stays to help keep it in place. It's in excellent barely worn condition, only the tag is cut out. The pockets inside can hold breast forms and in my experience the Amoena Lara is a very comfortable, breathable bra; I've had several of them. The website no longer carries this color in the same style. I love the fact that it has no wires but still has some structure to it. I wore this one about twice before I ended up needing a different size.

despite this being a mastectomy bra and me never having a mastectomy, this bra is my best fitting bra right now. Well, for the majority of the month. Around my period the cups are too small. The lacy fabric is quite scratchy, the straps are even scratchier.

    38DD

    Fits

This is one of the few post surgery bras that comes in a cupsized sizing. I had a breast reduction surgery 2 weeks ago starting from 34 K (uk) and this is one of the best post op bras I have. I bought a couple of cheap $20 Front closing bras that had S-M-L sizing , but given that my after size (around 34FF/G ) is as big as most people before breast eduction size, those just do not cut it for me. My before surgery underbust was 33" and I read that there will be a lot of swelling , including the underbust, so I choose ... to order the 38 band , which was a good call. A took off my surgical binder 2 days after surgery, and at the time my underbust was almost 37". Now, 2 weeks post op and my underbust is still 35" and things are very tender, so any band smaller than this would be uncomfortable. My I over use is about 42" now, so I am 36:6 in bratabase sizing, and the 38DD is a good fit.

The bra has an 9 hooks front closure that has two columns so you can adjust it as your swelling goes down. Since the swelling can change couple of inches of your circumference in the initial weeks , this is a godsend feature.
The strap is similarly constructed as my Panache sports bra, it is wide and padded on the top of the shoulder, and has an adjustable part is at the back . The back of the bra is mesh for breathable and the cup material is made of coolmax technology that is moisture wicking that used in high end sportswear. Actually the whole construction of the cups reminde me of my panache sports bras, so I will able to use this as a sports bra later on.

The bra is much more supportive than other post op bras as it has side support. This is important to me, because I did not had side lipo, and my after surgery breast look very east west now . The side support gently pushes the breast forward, which helps to move the migrated side tissue back to where it's belong the front of the chest .
It only comes in black and white , and not much of a looker , but given it is a post of bra asthetics is not the main point,

Glad you found something supportive post op. Hope your swelling subsides. Are you still in pain?

    • Yes , it still hurts a lot . It will pass and it will all worth it . I am so super excited to go shopping and do activities that I was never able to do

    • I'm sure it'll be a life changer! Hope your pain subsides soon.

I'm a male with Gynecomastia with wide separated small breasts. This is the only regular bra I've found that firmly holds my breasts up. I'd wear it more if the strap adjustments were in the front instead of showing through the back of my shirts. Appearance/style of the bra is secondary to me. Seeing the bra through the shirts I wear is what I'm concerned about.

I wear a 32D and these 34C work on the middle hook. The feel like light support bralettes. Light mesh and lace. Great for lounging on a hot day. These have side boning and pockets to put prosthetic in.
UPDATE: I've since altered the band to be more like a 30DD, and it still fits great. I just wish these came already made in a 32D at least. This is probably my favorite "bralette" for summer.
I have 3 Karla's, white, pink, and navy. All fit the same.
The measurements are the original size.

This 34C fits like a modern 32D. The shape is lack luster with a slightly pointy and triangle shaped looking breast from the side view while wearing it. Lace is okay feeling, the straps are thick and comfortable. Has cup pockets for enhancements.

I didn't realize this was a bra specifically designed for breast cancer surgery. I only realized that when I looked it up to add it here. It explains why it has a different fit from my other Cacique bras. It's a wire-free bra, but it is molded with deep cups.

I bought the bra at a Lane Bryant store about 4 months ago because I was having a lot of back pain and wanted a couple of no-wire bras. I bought this and the cooling no-wire bra. I don't wear this one as much because it's an odd shape. I think it's best for what it was designed ... for - someone who's had a mastectomy and needs something comfortable with no wires and a defined shape that allows for a silicone or other insert. Or someone that needs wire-free with deep cups and forward projection.

It gives a torpedo shape and when I lay down, the molded cup stays in place, even though my breasts move around and don't fill the cup anymore. For me, the gore doesn't rest against the sternum, but maybe it's not supposed to since it's no-wire? Or, maybe this is because it's designed for someone who's had a full or partial breast removed. There is almost NO separation between the cups. The center gore seam is about 1/4 of an inch. Because I have large, close-set breasts, they just push out the center gore because there is no wire to separate the breast tissue.

On the positive side, the bra is supportive and secure, so while I'm not fond of the way it looks under my clothes, I would say it's a good bra because it gives great support - without wires. If you've had surgery (or have boobs with different size cups) and you need a no-wire bra that can give you the illusion of equal-size on both sides, then this bra will do that.

The band on this is a true/modern fit 34, unlike my other Amoena bras. If I put it on the tightest closer, then it fits like a 32. The lace is non-stretch and not itchy at all.
I was worried about the exposed elastic, but it doesn't seem to bother me... yet.
All in all this bra is a keeper, I would have opted for the 32D if it wasn't out of stock, but for $5 I can't complain. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
The pockets inside the cups don't need to be "smoothed" out of the way like on my other Amoena's.
    I measure 36" over-bust, would comfortable fit a 35" also.
Does have side boning, which I love. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
This is the first bra I've ever had that the straps just barely get long enough, I guess because of the half adjustable and the part that is decorative is not very stretchy.
    The lace is sheer.

This is my first cotton bra. I tried it in a 34C and it was way too stretchy. This 32D is a tad snug, but I suspect it will stretch out fast.
    It has side boning.
    Very comfortable, basic, beige bra.
I'm a little worried that the cotton might prevent clothes from gliding over my bust, but it's not that highly of a concern, to be expected. I expect pilling to occur after several washings/wearings.

This bra is SOOO beautiful! It's a dusty mauve color, to me at least. Which is my favorite when it comes to lingerie.
Has mastectomy pockets, which I do not use, so I tuck out of the way to create a smooth look.
Great for my FOT-ish, conical, uneven-ish breasts. Feels like it might be pushing a little down on my boobs, but not enough to bother me.
This band is snug for a 34, makes me think that this brand does do the +4 rule? I usually wear a 32 in modern brands.
My bust circumference is around 36", this could probably fit a 35"-37" easily.

The band is surprisingly firm. If I could buy this in my usual size in a 32D it would probably feel snug. I wear this on the first hook in the 34C size.
This bra has pockets inside for mastectomy inserts. They slightly wrinkle as I don't use them so once I tuck them just right it creates a smooth look.
I have conical, slightly uneven breast size/shape, so this wireless bra fits just right and gives moderate support. Fits much like my Shock Absorber D+ wireless sport bra, which is what I was hoping for.
Slightly presses down on my somewhat FOT breast.

I bought it because the size is very hard to find and then I arrived at home, i discovered it's a special for after a brest cancer with special cup for keep the prothesis inside. Anyway, I decided to try it and this is the best fit I ever wear. Comfortable every where. The color and the style is classical but when the comfort is perfect, the way it looks doesn't matter ^^
