I have shallow conical breasts that was measured at a 28DD. This is quite a full coverage bra as it comes up relatively high. The band is a little more firm than some other models of Aerie bras, but is still quite stretchy. There is very slight quad boobing on my larger breast right after I swoop and scoop, but kind of settles back into the bra after a little time. I am still undecided if I want to keep the bra. Everything else is comfortable and has soft material.

WAAAAY more padding than I like, but some of it is removable. This is a comfortable, kinda sexy bra that works for low cut tops. I wanted a "push-up" because my boobs want to live in my armpits, but I did not want this much padding! I have other Aerie push-up bras that aren't this thick. Aside from that, this bra is very, very soft and quite comfortable for an underwire bra. The straps adjust only half-way, which is ridiculously stupid. This causes gaps that could otherwise be avoided.

    • I hate added push up. Makes my boobs go funny. đź‘€

    • I adore the wide band. Glad this one fits, too :-)

    • It is cute style aside and the push up stuff. Is it baby?

    • Navy, not baby

    • I have the Day to Play unlined lace plunge, soft, light and surprisingly supportive. I can't wear Aerie push up's they just don't seem to fit me well.

Is it on the tightest hook? Does it feel like it's in your IMF because it doesn't look like it to me, but I'm also a newbie. It's pretty but I am not sure of the fit on you.

This bra feels like it has a really stretchy band, compared to some other, more expensive bras in the same size. When I tighten up the bra position, using a racerback converter, then it fits. I could not get a rixie clip onto the band, but I'm going to try again. The cups have a flexible fabric that is soft, so for an all-one-piece cup, the shaping is not too aggressive.

This bra is super comfy and soft, but as with all aerie bras, the bands are so stretchy that it makes sense to go down a band size. This band wears looser than the 34 it is supposed to me. However, I only wear it at times of the month when my breasts are larger than normal. Normally this 34DD cup is too large for my 32FF breasts. However, the cup and fabric is soft, so I wear it when I need a break, or during hormonal fluctuations

  6. Sunnie Full Coverage Lightly Lined Bra (9793-7748)

This bra is the dreaded "Grandma" bra that I wear to scare away my husband. Ha ha. One look at this thing on me causes him to fall asleep immediately, as if I wasn't there at all. The thing is, we ALL need to have a basic, boring, functional bra. There's no choice. There are times in life where we simply cannot get away with wearing pretty bralettes. Sunnie Full Coverage is my "lecture" or "before an audience" bra for times when my boobs should attract 0 attention. Because it fits me perfectly, it works perfectly for this. It keeps "bounce" ... to a minimum, it covers nearly all my breast tissue, it has almost a minimizing effect because it's wide set, and it completely covers my second set of boobs (underarm rolls from wearing the wrong bra size). This bra comes in many colors, which I enjoy very much, but nude bras are necessities in our wardrobes. This is my second favorite "basic" bra, falling just behind Panache Porcelain. I still prefer the Porcelain because it gives me more rounded shaping and front/center uplift. The Sunnie is lightly lined (ordinary foam cups) and its shape, like most T-shirt bras, follows exactly that of my East-West breasts. This makes it extremely comfortable and functional, but, I must admit, I do like the "lift" I get from Panache Andorra, Panache Porcelain, and even Bali Flower Bra. The Sunnie is my all-purpose, support, coverage bra. It's soft, comfy, and quite inexpensive. I find it very similar to Soma Embraceable bras, but Aerie is more lightweight.

I LOVE this bra. It is "lightly lined" in that it has molded, foam cups, but there is no added padding. For a lined bra, it is remarkably lightweight, and it's incredibly soft and silky-feeling. This provides good lift and shaping for a naturally "uplifted" look, and it's smooth enough to wear under any type of clothing. It plunges low enough at the gore that it works with low-cut shirts as well as T-shirts. While Katie is very similar to Aerie's iconic "Sunnie" bra, I prefer Katie for myself. Sunnie is a wonderful bra, don't get me wrong, but Katie's narrower center gore is ... more flattering for my shape. My boobs want to exist in my armpits, and while Sunnie fits perfectly, it doesn't pull my breasts more front and center. Katie definitely does, and I like the look a lot. Regardless of how small I am, the perk is long gone, so I appreciate bras that give me a little uplift. Katie is a really pretty bra that can be dressed up or down, depending upon the colorway and the matching underwear (or not). If you have my shaping I hope you get to try a Katie soon.

  8. Sunnie Demi Coverage Lightly Lined Bra (2790-7598)

Is there a name for this specific bra shape/style? Whatever it is, it's one of 2 styles that seems to fit my shape without squeezing, pinching, gaping, quadding, or smooshing. (The other is Panache Porcelain).

Aerie bras tend to have similar cuts, with minor differences for styling/shaping. In general, they seem to have wide, shallow cups, tall sides, and long underwires. Whatever this "model" is called...I LOVE it!

While the Sunnie Demi Coverage bra isn't particularly exciting to look at, it wears beautifully under everything, and it's a perfect "go-to", everyday bra. It's extremely soft, lightweight, and comfortable. It's sturdy, too, and the price can't be beat.

  9. Happy Unlined Plunge Bra (2792-7849)

Two more happy-experience bras from Aerie. My first Happy Unlined Plunge Bra was a 32C. Even though it technically fits, I had a feeling that the longer underwires in the 32D would give me better shaping. I was right. The 32C and D are very similar in size in this bra, but the wires on the D cup, as well as the slightly taller shape, work well to hide my pronounced underarm roll (courtesy of wearing the wrong bra size for 20 years). I am so happy to have unlined bras. They are so much more comfortable, because I am small. ... Even "lightly lined" bras tend to feel bulky in Arizona summer heat. There are days when I can literally ring out my bras (gross, I know) from sweating. These "Happy" bras are light as air and their fabric seems to keep perspiration from reaching my clothing! The one caveat to the Happy unlined is that it can show absolutely everything. My husband continually makes jokes about how much he enjoys seeing me in the frozen food aisles in the grocery store...If I were to wear the Happy bra to work, I would use "no peek" pads, for sure. Still, this is a wonderful unlined bra for small sizes, and that's not something I can easily find.

Giggle "no peek" pads. I've had such an expensive, painful journey finding a comfortable bra, I seriously don't care anymore. In our blazingly hot, freakishly humid summers, I will wear as few layers as possible. Winter, however, I cover to keep myself warm ;-) ;-)

    Didn't fit

First off, my usual size is a 30D. I have breasts set farther apart, more shallow than projected, and even or maybe slightly more FOB.
This bra must run small in the cup because I did not fit in these cups at all! After swooping and scooping, I had major quadboob and everything was squishing out the top. Additionally, this bra feels more cheaply made compared to my
    30D - Betsey Johnson Intimates » Favorite Perfect Tshirt Ba (72 .
The band length felt good for a 30, however, it does have less elastic than I would like. I am worrisome that it won't hold up as well as others.
I will have to return these and try them in a 32D since Aerie doesn't provide them in 30DD.

    • Saskia_C have you tried this bra in a 32D? How did it fit for you? Would you suggest it?

    • Saskia_C have you tried this bra in a 32D? Would you say Aerie 32 bands are true to size or a little smaller for a 32?

ShaniSunAZ I have the same question for you.

I'm worried that the 32 will be too loose, as all 32's I've purchased to date ride up.

    • I have not. I have tried it in 30C, 30D, and 32C. The bra does not run small overall; it's just really shallow.

    • I size down in the band on the Sunnie, my first was a 34B and couldn't wear it after several months because it stretched out to quick. I bought another in a 32C and needed an extender at first. Now I'm on the last set of clasps. And it does run shallow (yay for me). I wouldn't say it's cheaply made but it certainly isn't as sturdy as some Betsy Johnson bras, but it's so comfortable and you can always find them on sale that I don't mind replacing them a little sooner than normal.

    • One additional note, I also tried on the Betsy Johnson Favorite T-shirt bra and it didn't fit me as well as the Sunnie. The cups were a little deep and closed off on the top for me. It fit better when I hooked the straps in the back but still not as well as the Sunnie so I didn't keep it.

    • Saskia_C - I am finding that 32D in the lightly lined bras, whether demi or full cup, fit well. The Cs are definitely too small.

  11. Blakely Racerback Lightly Lined Bra (1791-7820)

Blakely is a "lightly lined" T-shirt bra designed for everyday wear under most clothing. It isn't designed to lift and it's not padded. It encloses breast tissue and keeps it firmly in place. There's not much bouncing or jiggling, but it's not so tight I get sore, either. This style is well suited for my breast shape. If I wanted some va-va-voom, I would wear this style with just a little bit of bottom-cup padding (i.e. Aerie Bridget bra), but for t-shirts, and any other casual clothing, the Blakely is perfect. I don't know what's different between the Sunnie and the Blakely, but ... Blakely seems to fit me better. It doesn't cut into my tissue in the front the way Sunnie does. (To be fair, my Sunnie is a 30D, so it may be the size.) Blakely is a soft bra, and the underwire is gentle and not squeaky. There's a lot of bra for your buck, so it's not one I forget I'm wearing, but it doesn't leave lines or bruises either. Some Racerback bras can give me a terrible headache, but this one is very comfortable. The lace on the side panels and the little tassel on the front makes this bra especially cute.

    • Adorable details and lovely color!! Looks fantastic!

    • If the Sunnie is cutting into your flesh at the top edges of the cups, it is probably the size. The Sunnie has the most space at the top parts of the cups; in fact it is the only one I can wear due to my tall roots.

    • I have the opposite issue. The Sunnie is my BEST fitting bra and the Blakely doesn't fit me at all.

    • Love4Pollinators (I adore your username).

Saskia_C Thank you for the information. I am so happy to learn it may not be the size not the style! The more bra options the better!) I need to try a Sunnie in a 32D. I have tried it in 30D and 32C. They never have them in stores, so I have to order them online in order to try them. It's not the top parts of the cups that dig in, it's the part right above the center gore. The cups cut a cross-section in my flesh. I will certainly try a 32D. Apparently Aerie doesn't make DDs.
thelittleone - What is it about Blakely that doesn't fit you? I'm trying to gauge where the styles are different to see if I should order Sunnie in a different size. Depending on where it doesn't fit you, it could be that the Sunnie would work as well as Blakely if I can find a size that works. It's worth the trial and error for me. These bras are so comfortable.

    • Here is the link that shows the Sunnie digging in.
      http://www.bratabase.com/bra/dihmh/

    • Aerie makes DD and some DDD bras, but they might only be available online and not in stores?

    • 1278 - Have you seen the DD, DDD, etc. with a size 30 band? That would be idea for me, I think. The online Aerie has the DDetc. beginning with size 32 band. I'm a little worried about Aerie's extensive sizing, because some of their newer models don't go down to size 30 (ex. Sunnie Wireless).

    • ShaniSunAZ - Sorry for the late reply. I hadn't tried the Blakely in a couple of years so I had to go try it on again so I could remember why it didn't work.

On paper it should be a perfect fit, however the shape of the top line of the cup didn't agree with me at all. I quaded at the top of the cup and didn't fill out the cup when moving up a cup size. The way the side of the cup comes back in and attaches to the straps caused it to cut in and I had boob escaping out the side. I think I just require taller cups which I think the Sunnie has.

    • thelittleone - It sound like you have very similar shape issues. I'm about to pore through your reviews because I think they will help me very much! (Thank you!) I'm going to revisit Sunnie in a 32D. :-)

This is a nice pullover sports bra for low-impact exercise or swimming. I wouldn't wear this jogging, but I don't intend to jog any time soon anyways (bad knees). The cups have bathing-suit-type liner pads that are removable. I have size M, and it fits quite well except that the straps are a bit too loose. I may shorten the straps a bit, but it's not that big of a deal. They feel looser than they look. Overall, in Aerie, when it comes to bathing suits or sports bras, I recommend sizing up in the cup. I am comfortable is most of Aerie's 32C bras, and Medium is a good fit in the bralettes and sports clothing.

This is super cute and comfortable. It so, so soft. I've been wearing it under loose sweatshirts and for sleep. It doesn't provide any modesty, so I wouldn't wear this under Ts or blouses. This is size S and the cups are very small but the band is almost too loose on me. XS cups would definitely not fit, and the M band would be too loose, so I've got S. I have matching bottoms and this set is adorable, and my husband adores it. As you can see, this bralette does absolutely nothing for shaping on me. It makes me look saggy and it pulls down where I can use all the lift I can get. I paid $14.00 for this, so I am enjoying it thoroughly because it's pretty and comfy. If I'd paid more, I'd have to either explore a different size, or forego this style. The fabric is just too charming to resist.

Great review and pretty much right on. Supper soft, need to size down on the band, cup separation is a little too wide, straps aren't overly stretchy but they are very comfortable. The only thing I find different about the Sunnie is that I find it to be on the shallow side (at least in the smaller cup sizes, 32C)

So far the closest I've gotten without alteration. Super soft, very comfortable. Pretty heavily padded, but that's what I prefer. Band is very stretchy - not great for me because I need 26/28 but it doesn't have super tall cups like all 28DDs I've tried. Good for high breasts on this petite lady. Unexpected near success from AE!

I moved from a 30C to a 30D and this definitely feels much better - the band sizing is slightly tight but supportive, I'm pretty sure it will stretch out when I wear it more. Had to adjust the straps as always but we are good. Not to mention, the microfibre like material is SOOOO comfortable and I feel like I'm not wearing a bra at all! I'm still slightly skeptical about the cup sizing and things since it is a push up. I've yet to have a fitting check here on Bratabase, so once I do that I'll include more details!

I'm glad this one fit much better than the 30C. It still does look too small int he cups though. You are still getting some level of quadding. I you feel happy then go with it. Otherwise, I think that you'd do well to look at 30DD bras for tall rooted and/or FOT types.

Before I (finally) correctly sized myself, I was wearing a 32B in this....really. A B. "Wearing" is probably a poor explanation for how bras sat on my body back then but I didn't know https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":p" /> Anyway, correctly measuring as a 30E/DDD and sister-sizing into the 32DD has taken this bra from creaky and nearly unwearable to one of my most comfortable new bras. It's not perfect - the little ring that serves as the gore doesn't lie totally flat, and it's a little tight on my larger breast (but not quadding, which happens sometimes with bras that fit the smaller one - ... it's just very full). Unfortunately DD is the highest cup size Aerie makes in almost all of their bras; DDD is only available with 32+ bands and for most cuts that's too much for me, so the sister size will do here. Not having band/strap slippage problems so it seems fine. I think my shape is moderately shallow, but it's hard to tell because my roots are tall, wide, and separate (a weird combo that I blame on my broad shoulders)....so if you love Natori Feathers but it does nothing to give you cleavage, Charley is your girl. Be prepared for some jiggle. But sometimes you just need that, you know?

This is one of the most comfortable racer back bras I've worn in a long time! Really enjoy the great pushup I get and the centre clasp doesn't itch or bother me throughout the day. I had to get a band size up and a cup size down since I read reviews that the band size runs SUPER small but the cup sizes run slightly bigger, so I went for a 32B instead. It is true - the band size feels like a 29-30 inch band size and the cups - maybe I could've gone a knotch higher, but my right smaller boob does gape sometimes! Still, awesome material, great quality and I love the style. I'm not sure if it fits my kind of boobs though, I'll have to figure that out! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I bought it because I believed in 'sister sizes' but after getting fitting help for this bra I know I can't wear this. However, it is super comfortable and you don't feel as if you are wearing anything. It is padded, but only till 1/2 the bra and it is not THAT thick. It also has a demi-cut coverage. It looked cute, but unfortunately I can't wear them because they are too small!

I've worn this bra about 4-5 times and I have to say - it is one of the most comfortable bras I've ever worn in my life! It is perfect for lounging around the house or even if you need to go out - you don't feel like you're wearing a bra! The only drawback is that the cups are too small - it gives me the quad boob sadly. I feel that this would fit a 30B better! It is also a demi-cut bra, which I don't particularly like (I prefer full coverage) but it looks cute and better on smaller boob sizes.

Updated on Mar 03, 2016 Flag this

    • The Aerie Hannah does not run too small in total volume, although it is probably too small for you. The Hannah, along with the Blakely and the Bridget, were made for non-tall rooted types. Therefore, even if you sized up to a 30D, you still run the risk of quadding.

Like I stated in the fit request, the Sunnie and the Sunnie Push-up are the only two Aerie 30-band styles that have more space in the top parts of the cups. Even with those two styles, you might find that 30D fits you better.

    • Saskia_C Thank you for mentioning that! I never knew my bras were too small and according to my measurements I end up a 30C (because they say if you get an odd number for your band size, you round it up to an even number) :(
