I love Freya Urban Echo Padded Plunge, and this style set me off on exploring Freya's various padded styles to see if I could find another style that shares the same cut. So far, In Bloom has been the only one I've found. I had to get this in my sister size of 30DD, but thankfully the band is not obnoxious big and works without any alterations.

The Padded Plunge is a 3 piece cup and seems to be the rarest of Freya's various padded styles. It has a significantly lower gore than any of their other padded styles. Actually, the cut is very, very similar to the unlined version of this bra, the In Bloom Plunge Balcony Bra. This is an unlined 3 piece plunge that shares the same cut as Jasmine Meadow, where the upper cup is mesh, rather than the ones that have the same fabric throughout the entire cup. I purchased the unlined version in 28E and the measurements are very similar other than the unlined being slightly deeper than the padded. Compared to the Urban Echo, which I have in 28E, the entire bra measures slightly larger in the cups, but I think this might be due to grading between sizes as sister sizes don't always have identical cup measurements.

As I mentioned in my Urban Echo Padded Plunge review, I love this cut because it is the most similar to Comexim's Standard Plunge cut, which is my best-fitting cut with alterations. The main differences are that the Freya has a lower gore, and uses soft batting instead of the foam that comes in Comexim bras. Both give a similar rounded, lifted shape, but Freya is softer under clothing and seams may be a little visible depending on how much you fill out the cup. This style also works better if you have upper center fullness for the same reason. Please see my Urban Echo review in 28E for more details to compare the two fits: https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dn5w5/

Styling on this bra is simple but fun. The print is a reddish-pink and soft coral ditsy design that looks like tiny flowers, with little white geometric shapes that look reminiscent of birds, on a solid black background. It is a bit busy but not overly garish. The fabric is the same lightweight silky material used on most of Freya's printed bras. In order to keep the bra from getting too loud, all trims are solid black, including the elastic on the upper cup. Small black bows adorn the strap attachments, and the center gore has a reddish-pink and black folded ribbon with a very small textured silver bead. This style has a plain black powermesh band, so the print doesn't run throughout, and medium-width scalloped black elastic straps. Both the wings and straps are on the narrow side, but this is a minor complaint. The band, though it is a 30, actually feels decently firm and stays in place on me despite the fact that many Freya 30 bands are far too big for me. It is cut with a gentle leotard back.

I am very pleased to have found this other rare style that shares my favorite cut!
