Fits

** This is a customized bra! The only non-standard measurements are CUP HEIGHT and GORE HEIGHT. DEPTH was requested but seems to measure as standard. **

This is my second round of customizations with Comexim and third attempt with making the 3HC cut work for me. My main concerns have been around lowering the cup height and increasing the cup depth, as the standard 3HC is too tall but too shallow at the same time. I decided to try this in the Ingrid since I think it is one of the most stable and classic Comexim styles and the mesh fabric would give a better idea of the fit than the thicker satin used on styles like the Basic. I emailed Joanna several times to discuss how to do this and showed her pictures of what I wanted, and she told me to request the below customizations:

Ingrid 60H: Please make 3HC, not Plunge
- Wire size: normal for 60H, 21.5-22 cm before gore height reduction
- Cup depth: increase 1 cm, total 20 cm (same depth as 60H Plunge)
- Cup height: Reduce 1.5 cm, total height 12 cm
- Gore: Reduce 1.5 cm to keep original cup shape
- Outer cup length/strap attachment area: total length 6 cm, same as 60G
* Final bra should be same wires as 60H, slightly deeper and shorter cups, strap placement like 60G

The resulting bra I received is pretty good, though the measurements didn't turn out exactly as I asked for. The cup depth came in at 19.5 cm instead of 20 as I requested, as I can feel that the cups are still a bit shallow. The cup height also came in at 12.5 cm, so it was reduced only 1 cm instead of 1.5 cm, and gore height reduced 1.2 cm instead of 1.5 cm. So, the cups are still a little taller and shallower than what I asked for, but overall it fits quite well.

However, like I wrote in my review of the Pearl Flower Mint, the outer cup angle and strap attachment were still not what I had asked for, which was to match the angle of the 60G. Still, because these cups are shorter and shallower than the Plunge, the straps end up naturally being placed about .5 cm further in, and I didn't notice any uncomfortable chafing from the strap placement though I would've preferred them a bit closer set.

My only issue with the fit is that the 3HC still seems to give me a bit of a flattened shape. The Freya Patsy/Summer Haze 3HC gives me a rounder shape, so I think this cut just isn't really suited for my body. I think there might be a bit too much projection at the wire so it doesn't have enough of a lifting effect, and the shallow center of the cup ends up pushing tissue both upwards and downwards in the cup. I might try it one more time with the correct cup depth, but the altered Plunge is definitely my preferred cut.

The band fits perfectly and is TTS. Like Pearl Flower Mint, the band is made from double layer printed mesh and lined with stretch tricot. The cups are also covered in printed mesh. I still love the antique rose aesthetic of Ingrid even though warm tones aren't usually my thing, as the colors are dusty enough to not read overly autumnal. The trims on my Ingrid 3HC are almost identical to my Ingrid Plunge, with lace at the upper cup and russet colored ribbon bows at the center gore and strap attachment, but this time I received a different elastic. The straps on this bra are satin-textured with picot edges rather than the simple diamond-edged elastic I received on my first Ingrid. It looks like Comexim routinely mixes and matches available trims across multiple bra styles, so you may expect some variations in elastic and lace.

If you're just experimenting with Comexim alterations, Ingrid is a great place to start to explore all their fits! Such a classic!
