Fits

My first two Ewa bras are these two M styles that I picked up from Levana Bratique on final sale. Since they didn't have my estimated best size (65E) available in any style, I decided to pick up two similar sizes based on feedback of how the bands run. Even though they are slightly different sizes, they are equivalent sister sizes, so the fit is similar. Between the two, I found M Tango to be shallower than M Perlowy though other measurements are similar.

This is a very pretty execution of a standard lace bra. The lace pattern is floral on open mesh, and has shiny and matte portions to give it some additional texture. Unlike the M Tango, this style has a full band, which makes it fit more securely. The band is made from double lined fabric, though I don’t find it particularly firm. There’s a tonal fabric bow at the center gore and adorned with a simple rhinestone charm. It is a lovely everyday bra that is far from frumpy. I am very pleased with the soft nude color of this bra as it is a good option for light skintones. I was worried that it would be a pearl white, which is not my preference.

My first thought when receiving the bras is that wow, Ewa bras are really lightweight! Compared to all of my other padded foam bras, these cups are the absolute lightest. I actually don't love how lightweight they are, as they don't feel secure, but maybe I will get used to this in time. The bras themselves weigh very little. The foam on this bra is different from the “dry” foam on the M Tango, and feels like a thinner version of the standard foam found in my other bras.

Regarding the fit though, I don't think that the M style is suited for me.

Band Sizing: Ewa's size calculator on her site recommends 65DD for me based on measurements, but based on the bra measurements I've concluded that in most of her styles, 65E would be ideal for me. However, this bra was supposed to run small, and there were no 65 bands available in my size range, so I sister sized to the 70D. I would actually have preferred the 65 band in this style, and probably a 60 band in other styles, since these bands are so stretchy and the wings are short. Both bras I received come with 4 rows of hooks, but the spacing is quite compact, so it doesn't really give you more room to adjust.

Cup Sizing & Proportions: At first, I did not intend to wear this with the cookies, as I felt they made the cups too small. However, wearing this without cookies makes the fit rather odd. It looks great if I stand up straight, but as soon as I move, the cups begin to gap. This is because while I have tall roots and have even fullness, my tissue naturally sits low, and well-fitting bras push the tissue up to create more vertical evenness. This bra is projected at the wire, so it doesn't have this push up effect, and thus I don't have enough upper fullness to fill out the upper cup completely. In addition, I need taller wires at the gore in order to enclose all the breast tissue, but the low gore of this style doesn't provide enough shaping or support. The cups are also too wide for me with overly-wide set straps, so whenever I move, the cups move inward and forward, creating gapping at the top of the cup--the openness of the upper cup makes this even more obvious. It is wearable with cookies, but unfortunately highly problematic without them. I cannot size down in the cup as I would end up overflowing and potentially falling out of the smaller size, and I already find the wires in this size to be a bit short.

Result: This is a nice bra for me to be worn with cookies, but it’s not really the right shape for me. Having reviewed many of the fit photos on BTB for this cut in a range of sizes, I can see similar fit issues occurring across many other wearers, even those who say they really like the fit. In general, the upper cup tends to sit away from the body and not provide much support for medium and fuller breasts. I think the M style is really suited for small cup sizes, A-D, who could benefit greatly from the push up effect of this bra without feeling like they will get pushed out of the bra's shallow cups.

I need a tighter band, narrower wires, narrower cups, more cup height at the center, a higher gore, and a little less immediate projection at the wire. Based on this, I don't think the M or 3D cuts are for me, and I would probably be better off in the PL or S.

Band is a little loose but stays in place, cups fit well without cookies. With cookies, cups are too small. Wires are a bit short and shallow for my shape. Straps are too far apart.
