Used to fit

With very close-set breasts, I have the challenge of trying to find a plunge sports bra. This Air Control Deltapad seems like it might just be what I am looking for.

Despite sounding like it's about to land an attack wing in your lingerie drawer, the Deltapad is actually a triangular sling-like piece of fabric that holds your breast in place. Over that is a mesh cup that provides the coverage you would expect from a sports bra. This means that while technically the gore height of this bra is 16 cm, most of that is mesh that is not aiming to press against your chest wall. The functional gore is a shaped portion of the lower gore that is about 5 cm high. So, it's like a firm holding plunge bra with a layer of mesh over the top holding everything together that much more. A view of the inside of the bra makes all this a little clearer.

I did some jump testing and the level of "command and control" seemed to be all I need for running. If you're going to do something more intense, this might not be enough. I found the band a very snug fit and plan to use an extender at first. Overall, it's a very comfortable bra. And so much better than the uni-boob binder I have usually ended up with.

  • Interesting design. I've never seen these before. Thanks for the review

  • I loved the idea of this bra but had trouble finding a good fit with enough control for my HIIT workouts. I agree band is very firm but the stretch overlay seemed pretty forgiving!

I took it out on the road today for a test jog and it worked well. Everything stayed where I wanted it too and I mostly didn't think about it. The straps were comfortable and didn't bind my shoulders as I pumped my arms.

I wore it for a while before going out (because I always have to have a little conversation with myself about actually going for a run) and it was comfortable for that extended period too. I am using an extender right now.
