My shape: slightly shallow teardrop/FOB with super wide/tall roots and very close-set tissue in the middle

This review is for the Blush colorway.

This bra is so stunningly pretty, I am groping for adjectives and coming up short. It's very subtle, especially with the almost nude but actually pale shimmery pink color and I totally did not expect it. I thought from the photos online that it was cute and retro, but they really don't do it justice. My camera picked up a little of the sheen on the satin, but again, you really have to see it in person.

The wires fit beautifully; they are still the wrong angle to get the end of my breast root under my arms, but most bras are and it isn't uncomfortable, and they are just the right shape for the rest of my inframammary crease. Plus, the center! Let me tell you about this magnificent V-shaped gore. It is a feat of engineering I didn't know I have been looking for my whole life! The only problem is, Gossard needs to know that now I have seen it and know that it can be done, I want MORE!

The cups are soft and squishable, but lovely foam padding keeps their shape and provides discretion. The angle of the plunge is extreme, of course, but for once it's a plunge that isn't too FOT for my slightly FOB teardrops, and it also doesn't cut into my tall roots! The shape they give is also gorgeous and round and pretty natural looking; it's definitely not very retro and there are no bullet-shaped Sweater Mittens here, but I'm not complaining!

From one very specific angle I have noticed in the photos that it would appear that I am spilling out of the center of the cups, creating a buckle in the cup fabric. I noticed it when I was wearing it, but thought it was resolved when I tightened the straps. Spilling out is not a problem I've ever had before! Not sure what it indicates, and I certainly don't notice it anymore when it's on.

I am quite disappointed in how loose the band is, though. I know, I know, I mostly wear 30s and the occasional stretchy 28, so I should have known a 32 was risky, but my 30G - Gossard » Egoboost Strapless Bra (6288) is SO tight and people have said the bands in several other models are tight (or at least firm), but not so here. It is very stretchy and even on the tightest hook I can already pull it away from my back more than enough to fit my fist underneath.

It's too bad it's not a full longline. I know lots of ladies don't like them, but I do, and the trade off is that the band doesn't lay as smoothly (or disguise backfat as well) as a full longline. The narrowing back band is lower than a standard bra, but also curves up toward the hooks, mirroring the upper U-shape and looking pretty, but which makes it feel like it's riding up even when it isn't.

After wearing this bra for a day, I can say it's pretty comfortable, kept me front and center all day long, and I could tell from the marks (I mark easily) that the wire neatly gets all but the tiniest tail of my breast root and stayed there all day long! The elastic from the back band, which already didn't have quite the even tension I wished for due to the transition between longline and regular, caused some more serious marks on my ribs that itched for awhile when I took it off, and the gold eyes that the straps pass through dug into my shoulders something fierce for the first half hour or so; I stopped noticing after that, but there was still a red spot by the outer edge of each.

Fit information

On Jul 2015 It fit her!

Band will stretch and become a problem, but right now it is fine.

On Sep 2014

Because of the semi-longline style, the loose band is not terrible, but the back band is not as smooth as it would be with a full longline.

Strap separation:
Not a problem
Band fit:
The back of the bra is not at the same level as the front (rides up)
