Fits

I borrowed this bra from lcl0706 for a week to test it out as I have never tried an Ewa before, and she said that this one, although a discontinued model, was fairly true to size. She said that it was a combination of two current styles (Pl and S?) so it was a good diagnostic bra. And since our sizes and shapes are similar, there was a good chance that it would fit. She sent it with the Curvy Kate Bardot 30FF that I bought from her. I'm ever so grateful that she did!

My shape is average to short narrow roots with soft, malleable, pendulous tissue that tends to be center full and even to fob. So I'm a perfect candidate for Polish bras.

This bra is amazing. I joked that I didn't want to send it back (I did, and she got it today with a small gift of thanks). I feel like I did have a smidgen of slipping from my IMF but very minor. Shape is great, colour is great (I'm a HUGE fan of navy), and the little flower at the center is lovely...it's not a typical flower, but it's really nice. I have to admit that I originally thought that the style was going to be a bit bland or boring but I was so so wrong. It's understated and just beautiful. I'm grateful that the wires weren't super high and I was quite comfortable with the fit under my arm pits. I have a tiny bit of gapping on my small side, but that's par for the course with my slight asymmetry. The straps were a little bit too wide set for me, but still fairly comfortable and manageable. I also found the band and hooks interesting...I've never seen a bra with 4 rows of hooks. Also, because I was borrowing it, I only wore it at home for a few hours at a time to keep it in the best condition, so I can't say anything about the long term comfort of the bra, but I think that it would be fine after a whole day.

I'd love to try this style or one of the ones that it's based off of. And I'd love to try one similar with a thinner padding if something like this exists. Overall, I really enjoyed it, and when I took it to my local shop, the fitter there (who has also suggested that I try Ewa) said it was a great fit....among the best fits that I have tried. I'm definitely going to have to use the measurements to help me find one for myself when I'm ready.

Anyway, really happy with this style; really sad that I don't actually own it.

be sure to check the listings here on bratabase. but ordering from poland isnt that hard - as long as you dont want to return

This looks lovely on you, and I think it would be even better with slightly shorter or more closed off cups. I think you would get on really well with EM's PL cut, or even the 3D cut for that matter. I think you'd also do well with Comexim's plunges, but I feel like you would definitely need to have the cups reduced, although I believe that also makes the cups more open on top, so I'm not sure what the right balance of alterations would be for you without experimenting a little bit.

Thanks sherrach898. What's the 3D cut you mentioned? I'm ok with the minimal gapping, especially as I gain size as I get closer to my period and would fill out the cups a bit more. I also think that taking the pics might have enhanced it more than it was in reality. I was recently told that Comexim might not have enough projection at the wire for me. But what would it mean by reducing the cups?

Yes dbmamaz, I have my eyes open, but some are super expensive, especially after converting to Canadian. It might be better to just order from Poland and get what I want rather than pick from one here. I have the option for bra obsessed, but also hideously expensive.

yeah, after I posted, I looked and was surprised - tho I admit, I just bought a new-with-out-tags ewa from someone here for $75 (US) - but it was worht it lol. It was the FB cut, which is designed for bigger boobs - and fits me better than anything else! I've ordered from poland a lot - esp when she has sales, its more reasonable. I think she has one coming up pretty soon

The 3D bras are plunge bras for smaller frames & bustlines:

Ewa is having a new release sale next week (not sure of the day but usually it starts on the weekend) for the colorful BMs, SF, & bralette she posted on Instagram and Facebook recently. Absynt may be available in the S style as well. (All dependent on Ewa not changing her mind of course. )

Reduced cups for Comexim refers to reduced cup height. It typically will lower the height more towards the straps than the gore to lessen the most common gapy area. You can also order Comexim with deeper at the wire to give more projection.

    :-)

  • Thanks MamaPagan. What do you think of the CHP for me, and in general, which styles aside from what you have already mentioned above do you think might work? In the bra of this review, it's said to be mostly the fit of an S but the gore of a Pl.

  • Edit: you didn't suggest the Pl and 3D above, MamaPagan, it was a different user.

  • 1

Yeah, sorry, I just piped in since I had the additional info! :-)

  • 1

MamaPagan Don't worry about it, you covered everything and more that I would've! Calluna I think the CHP has really good immediate projection, but I'd be worried about the cup height and openness for you.

sherrach898 thanks for the help. If it makes a difference, my most worn style up to date has been the La Senza So Free Lightly Lined Balconette bra which o think can be considered open on top. I'm right between the 32D and 32DD in that style, as the cups run large. The band is generally too stretchy for me these days, but it's been my go to style despite the band (I just buy on sale or clearance to justify the reduced lifespan). I'll look at maybe adding it here but there's not a lot of models here and they are constantly changing the styles. But here's an example from the current offering of what I've mostly been wearing up til recently. I'll see if I can get a chance to make a small imgur album of my most recent So Free so you can see it and gage the fit and openness of the cup.

I added my La Senza So Free Lightly Lined Balconette for cup shape and style reference if you want some molded to compare with.

Okay! I'm more confident now that the CHP would probably work for you. The Cleo Mimi halfcup in the floral print is also said to fit like polish halfcups, so might be worth a try.

  • 1

Yes, I have the Mimi in mind. Floral or spots. Probably spots since I love polka dots and the teal. I'm just waiting on a few more lighter coloured bras and unlined ones before I go for it.

  • 1

Calluna I haven't personally tried it, but from the reviews I've read, the floral and the leopard print Mimi fit differently from each other, so just be mindful of that. The Floral Mimi is the one that is more projected at the wire and overall, from what I understand. But YMMV.

  • 1

Yeah, I don’t generally care for animal prints. So floral or spots for me. No leopard! ;)

  • 2

Calluna Ah! My bad! I totally forgot about the spots print haha
