Used to fit

I was actually visiting a combined HomeGoods/Marshalls, and this beauty was just draped, abandoned, on the top of a night stand near the rugs in the home decor half of the store, allll the way opposite of the intimates part of the store. I was enthralled. And it was only.... $3?!?!?! It used to be in a 2 set but the other was missing (I work next to a sibling brand, T.J. Maxx, so I know how frequently those discounted stores get shoplifted from), so it was majorly marked down. And do you see the COLOR?!?! Even before trying it on, I was in love. Dusty pink is one of my FAVES. I found the intimates part of the store, and there wasn't a single other bralette like it.
As for fit... Band is definitely large-ish, but works on the tightest hook for extra strapped-down support. It gives a pushed-up appearance, at the cost of projection, but I definitely like it for when I feel sexy while lounging around on a day off from work haha. It's comfy, the cups stretch to 9.5 inches deep, which works in my favor (unlike the black Target one... That had NO stretch) and doesn't make me completely flat chested. Overall feeling uplifted and keeps my boobs out of my armpits. Yay!
Construction notes: The front of the cups overlap, the bottom of the cups are flat attached to the longline part, and there's boning in the side channels. I guess this gets a little bit annoying, but not really with the band being stretchy rather than firm. The whole front half is also lined with a stretchy soft mesh. Wish it would have continued through the wings, but the lace sure is pretty. Raw edges are covered in binding on the inside. If there were underwire channels (filled or not) the cup width would be perfect for me. The boning makes sure no breast tissue falls into the band. And the cups also stretch enough to nearly fill the very bottom of the cups! Straps are plush and adjustabel along the whole length. Overall, the quality of this bra is super duper nice. Really sad Laura Ashley doesn't do bralettes any more.
AND THE COLOR. ON MY SKIN?!?! SO PRETTY!!! I almost want to remove the comical bows; I just feel like a more simple and sophisticated look would be better for a bra that makes me feel sexy. Wish straps were the same color too. But overall, I like this bra a lot.

Mauve or dusty pink colorway

Oh, sweet! Thats one of my favorite colors too - I used to have a wool felt hat about that color, maybe slightly lighter. One winter I went to grab it and couldnt find it. i was so sad!

What a great find. I see why you like the colour, it looks great on you. Pretty bralette!

That is absolutely beautiful on you, both in colour and in fit! :)

Niiiiice. I wish I felt more comfortable trying bralette's! I'm just now becoming comfortable with unlined bras....with my conical-esque shape, center/inner full breasts. It looks so pretty on you, very nice shape for a bralette. Do you think you could get away with tightening/altering the band for a snugger fit while retaining all the comfort and shape?

I pop into TJ Max and Marshalls on a regular basis to check out the bras. They often have bras from Aerie at an unbelievably low price ($5-$7). I have seen a lot of bralettes there recently but never gave it a thought to try any of them. Your post has given me inspiration to step out of my normal bra wearing habbits and try something new.

dbmamaz Oh man that always sucks!! Hopefully you can find another hat similar one day soon. :)
Wilderness1 sherrach898 finallygotboobs Love4Pollinators Thank you all so much! Yes I can't believe I just randomly found it haha. First glance, it looked like it would be way too small all around, but it was just body dysmorphia. Super happy with it!
LeProfessor I am also very conical and point down and east-west when breasts are relaxed, but you could never tell in this bra! I think it has just the right amount of stretch with the right amount of firmness, and a rounded seam, that it hold everything high and tight and gets rid of my pointy profile. I'll probably cut off a couple of inches and resew the hooks and eyes on once I feel it stretching out, or maybe even stitch on some beige mesh in the wings. I don't want it to be TOO tight, or it will just pull the cups flat towards my armpits. Being a longline, it has enough fabric to grip my ribs and not ride up a whole lot throughout the day.
thelittleone It makes me happy to have inspired! I definitely had a lot of "misses" with bralettes years ago, but I hated how they looked on me. My breasts were basically flat at the time (at least I remember thinking they looked that way) and I found that lace just layed on top of them or smooshed them down even more. Now that I'm older, gained some more weight, and good bras have pulled my breast tissue out of my armpits, I have a decent amount of projection, and a little bit of smooshing doesn't bother me. :) If the bralette hangs flat on the hanger, look for stretch lace that will give way to the shape of your breast. Or, look for bralettes that hang with a more cupped/rounded shape and a little bit of stretch; it'll fit over the round of a boob better and not give as much breast smooshing.
