Didn't fit

This is a gorgeous and comfortable bra. The design is beautiful. There are two decorative black straps from the gore to the actual straps, which will show above tops unless they are high-cut enough to show absolutely no cleavage. The material is surprisingly translucent.

It doesn't technically fit me. I ordered the band size EM's calculator recommended, and one cup size up (because my size was sold out, and my shape suggested that could potentially work). The band is great, even on the loosest hooks - unlike 85 Comexim bands, which are too large even on the tightest hook. For reference, I wear 34 bands in UK bras, and 38s are much too large.

It doesn't have quite enough projection or immediate projection for me, like every bra I've ever tried, despite the cups being too large. The wire width is pretty close to ideal. The gore is a thumb away from tacking. The top of the cup gaps slightly on my larger side, and quite a lot on my smaller side, unless I pull my shoulders as far back as they can go. My bras that are closest to fitting are UK 34H or 34HH.

It is an unpadded bra, and arrived in a tiny package, in perfect condition, 10 days after ordering it. Germany shares a border with Poland, but shipping over the holidays was slow.

Overall, I am very happy to have this bra, and it is one of my most comfortable ones. My quest for a perfect fit continues. Does anyone have a recommendation for cuts or brands with more projection and comparably narrow wires around this size range?

of my 3 Ewa Michalak cuts I've tried, the SM was the least projected and the S was the most projected. Might be worth a try. Also, my SM band is also ridiculously short - you might not want to order an 85 in other models.

Ewa's scaling works partially by band size, so by going up 2 band sizes, your cups are going to get taller, wider, and shallower. I'd suggest going down in the band to closer to your normal size to see if the scaling works more in your favor. If the band is too tight, you can always use an extender with it. The S cut would be sturdier for you, and should have more immediate projection in your size range.

  • The band size is really perfect on this particular bra, despite it being labelled as an 85 - I don't want to fasten it on the middle hooks, much less go down one. (I -could- fasten it on any of the hooks, as I can on any of my UK 34s, but this is very comfortable - much more comfortable than those). I suspect I'd find UK 36s more comfortable than UK 34s, but I get tacking gores (or side-tacking gores, for non-plunges) on 34s and not 36s for the bras I've tried on at Bravissimo, and can fasten the 34s even on their tightest hooks, though I wear them on the loosest (the bands are quite stretchy, compared to my Polish bras). My Comexim 85 and my UK 38s ride up, on their tightest hooks; this bra doesn't, on its loosest.

The cup height is fine on my larger breast, and only a little too high on my smaller one. The width is hard to judge precisely due to the shallowness, but is nearly right. Excessive shallowness and the gaping from the cups being a size too big are the main fit problems.

It sounds like it's worth trying an S cut. How do the plunges (are those all PL?) tend to be, in terms of immediate projection? I'd be surprised to get tacking gores with any other cut, given how close-set my breasts are.

  • I've never tried a PL because i'm very soft and center-heavy.

  • but i dont find band tightness to affect tacking much? it can make the cups shallower, tho, if you over-tighten.

  • I get along with the plunges I have, both British and Polish. They aren't projected enough, like my other bras, but my breasts stay in place reasonably well in them. While I'm very close-set, my breasts are more full on the sides than in the middle.

Band tightness doesn't directly affect tacking. Sister-sizing to smaller bands leads to deeper cups quite often though, and that extra depth can make a bra tack sometimes. This comes at a cost to comfort, though. I can't imagine wearing a UK 32 band at my current measurements and UK 38s are uniformly way too big, so it's a matter of minor differences like 36GG vs 34H, unless I really compromise fit way too much.

The PL I've tried was a bit small in the cup, but had better projection than the S's I've tried. CHP was the best of the cuts of hers that I have tried for immediate projection, and you should just be at the upper end of her sizing range for that cut. 75HH/80H/85GG. I've tried 80GG/HH/85GG for EM sizee ranges.
