I am so excited that my longline came in! Less excited about a couple of elements of it, but this is honestly a beautiful bra. I will be replacing it for a larger cup size, and I'll love it. I like the light lavender color a lot-- I'm a pale skinned, pinky cool toned person and I think it looks absolutely fabulous. I also love the pattern. I have a thing for birds and nature patterns, so this bra really fills that niche.

But let's talk sizing. My first and most obvious impression of this bra is that the cup sizes seem to run about a cup too small. I am solidly a 28FF in Cleo unpadded styles, and am pretty confidant that I would be a 28FF in the Freya Deco (I haven't had a chance to double-check, but the 28G is about a cup size too big for me). I ordered this bra in a 28FF and have serious quadboobage not just in my bigger boob, but in my smaller boob as well. I like the lightly padded cups, and I also liked the general shape they created. I expect in the next size up they would look fantastic. I find the shape to be pretty round and uplifted from what I can currently see. I would expect most people would need to size up in the cup for this bra.

Next, the band is of note. I am admittedly a bit disappointed to find that this did not feel like a snug 28 band on me, but rather slightly on the looser side. (For reference, my underbust is 27", or a snug 26.25", and this band was 24" unstretched and 29.5" stretched). If they offered this in a 26, I would absolutely size down in it. The band itself is quite stretchy, and I expect it will loosen with time. As it is, I think that I might have to alter down the band size, because I think it would be worth it to have this bra in my rotation but I just demand more snugness from my bands. I would expect that, if you like a firmer band, sizing down in the band size if possible would be a good move.

Another HUGE (in my mind) downside to this bra, that I frankly find very confusing, is that it only has TWO rows of hooks, as opposed to your standard three (I've even found strapless bras that have four). I don't know why this irks me as much as it does, maybe because I find it mind boggling. Like, seriously, I am racking my brain trying to figure out why on earth they would not use three rows of hooks like every other bra in the world, and the only things I can come up with are dastardly schemes to force you to buy more bras earlier because you couldn't tighten the back of your bra just that little bit more after their already-verging-on-loose band stretched out. The six hooks, though luxurious, also make it so hard to just add another row yourself (instead necessitating chopping down the band).

But, setting my conspiracy theories aside, it's a silly thing. Hooks set aside, this bra feels supportive, but to be honest, no more supportive than your average bra. I would have expected long lines to feel substantially more supportive, but I think because the band has quite a bit of give it isn't providing as much support around the band as it could.

I guess it's because it's a long line, but I have more things to say about the band of this bra than anything else. I've read that other Freya long lines have had issues with the band rolling up at the bottom, but I haven't experienced this issue with this bra. I am pretty petite in the torso, and the bottom of the band hits basically the bottom, maybe a cm above the bottom of my ribcage. One issue I do run into, though, that I don't experience with my other bras, is some spillage of 'back fat' over the band-- it's just below my shoulder blades, and I am slightly but not overly squishy person. It definitely isn't too tight a band, but the height of the band hits me in a different place than my other bras.

Overall, a gorgeous, classy bra that looks like it could create a really nice shape. However, a bit too small in the cups, a tad too loose in the band. I'll be returning for a 28G, and then altering the band down maybe half an inch or so.

This bra is not owned any more
